The iPad mini doesn't have the same resolution as the "new iPad".
iPad 3 & 4 (retina) = 2048x1536 pixels
iPad 1 & 2 (original) = 1024x768
iPad mini = 1024x768
Apple likely didn't put a retina screen in the iPad mini to keep cost down and to have an option to upgrade the iPad mini to a retina screen down the road, in a year or two. It could be however that the pixel density of 2048x768 at 9" poses a problem for the viewer, in that text and features might be rendered too small or too thin for the average buyer/consumer.

We don't know that yet. Apple is scheduled to make an announcement on September 10th. Apple will talk about their new products. Maybe something will be annouced then about a new iPad Mini. Stay tuned!

I just wanna buy a new iOS device and I'm confused between the iPod touch 5th generation, iPhone 4s 8GB, iPad 4th generation 16GB and iPad mini with the retina display 16GB model. Please help me figure out.

I have an iPhone 4s 16GB Model and I've been using it for about more than an year now. The reason I wanna get a new iOS device is because my 4s has got lots of scratches now and it's ambient light sensor seems not to work properly. Apparently, another reason is that the iLife and iWork suit are not free for me as my device is older and new devices get those softwares for free.
I thought to go with a new iPhone 4s again but the problem is that new 4s come with only 8GB of storage and they don't support AirDrop. So next, I thought to go with an iPod touch 5th gen because of its jaw-dropping design, bigger screen, more storage and AirDrop support. Because iPod touch is phone-less iPhone and they come at affordable price, I can also buy any cheap cell phone like moto e to replace my current iPhone 4S.
Another options that I thought a little bit on, is iPad 4th Gen and iPad mini with Retina display 16GB.
Now, should I just stick with my current 16GB iPhone 4s, or get a new one.
Or should I buy an iPod touch 5th gen and moto e (since iPod can't make phone calls)
Or should I go with one of the two iPad models that I aforementioned.

They're a lot more expensive, but Griffin has some of their 'survivor' cases with sealed ports, so you could cover up the ones you don't need.
If best buy isn't an option for you, at least there's a manufacturer to look for.

No, the iPad Mini doesn't have a retina display. It has the same screen resolution as the first two iPad models had i.e. 1024 by 768 pixels, which on the Mini works out at 163 pixels per inch - the iPad 3 and 4 which have retina displays have 2048 by 1536 pixels, which is 264 per inch
If you will be using the on-screen keyboard, as opposed to a bluetooth keyboard, then the larger iPad would be better suited - but due to the larger screen I would probably suggest the larger iPad anyway (e.g. you will be able to view more of your documents on-screen, and webpages and ebooks will also fit more on the screen). Are you near to a store which has both in so that you can compare the sizes of the iPads yourself ?

I was recently trying to buy an iPad Mini with retina display but the box it was in did not say anything about whether it had the retina display. Also the price they were going to charge me was $299 and not the $399 of the Mini with retina display. So how do I know by looking at the box if the Ipad Mini in the box has the retina display?

do you mean on the back cover of the box or the iPad itself. If it is only on the back side of the iPad itself, then I wont know if I have actually purchased the iPad Mini with retina display until I have opened the box. To me this is unacceptable as it creates a huge hassle if my intent was to buy thr iPad Mini with retina display but was actually sold the iPad Mini without retina display. When I return it for eith the right iPad mini or my money back, certain retailers have a habit of treating such people like criminals even when it was the retailers mistake. The box should be clearly maked to indicate which iPad mini in contains so the purchaser does not have to feel like they're playing roulette.
Today I was trying to buy the iPad Mini with retina display and made it very clear to those working at this retailer that was my intent. This paricular retailer has you talk to their sales people on the floor and they give you a print out of the item you are purchasing. Then the customer takes it to the cahier who takes to the stockroom and brings it back to the customer. I asked the cashier if it was indeed the iPad Mini with retina display and they said yes. So I asked how can you tell by the box? The cashier told me all the boxes look like this one. Some poeple may have thought oh good I'm getting the iPad Mini with retina display for the price of the iPad mini without retina display when in fact they be only getting the original iPad mini without retina display.
Your response helped me but it does not solve the problem as far as I am concerned of being able to tell what iPad Mini is in the box simply by what is on the outside of the box. You may say, what difference does it make? My response is, not all retailers are scrupulous!

Macbook pro mit retina display ruckelt

Hallo Communitie, ich habe mir vor 4 Wochen das neue apple macbook pro mit retina display bestellt, vor 2 tagen habe ich es bekommen, und bin nun auf ein ziehmlich nerviges Problem gestoßen, wenn ich zwischen schreibtischen wechsle ruckelt es, und das ist einfach nur nervig, vielleicht hat irgendjemand von euch ein LÖSUNG? Also consider that the Air is not upgradable in any way. so in the future if you want more disk space or more RAM you can't do that on the Air models. You can on the standard MBP.
iLife is a Group of Apps and some need more RAM and CPU speed then the others. The Air will run all of them but how it runs them is a different story.
Get the standard MBP.

do you mean you want to play your videos from your Vixia camcorder on your iPad mini? Well, that may be a little difficut. Because the video came from your camera may not be a very friendly format.
Here you can try install VLC on your iPad mini , VLC should support AVCHD (*.MTS) natively.
If this can't work, then find yourself a free converter;
Handbrake, Any video converter ,ffMPEG etc.
If this can't wrok , or the output quality is jerky.

HT201263 I have restored my iPad (first generation without retina display) and it finishes restoring software but will not stay on for me to restore the data and then shuts off whenever I try to turn it on. I don't believe that it is charging! HELP!

Long story about what happened but basically I was using the iPad (first generation without retina display) to watch TV at one point it had 20% battery so I plugged it in then it wasn't charging and I didn't realize so it got to 5% and shut off. I plugged it in to charge it but it just kept shutting down and showing the apple logo, then briefly showing me my home screen before shutting off again. I waited a while to see if it would charge, while it continued to turn off and on by itself. Finally, I unplugged it to see if it had gotten any charge but it just told me to plug it in again. I plugged it into a different charger, same thing. I decided to try connecting it to a computer and it stopped turning on but it did not seem to charge. I tried restoring it as it said in the article. It worked until it got to restoring the iPad from the backup that I had because it immediately shutdown before I could continue. I tried to restore it a second time but still it shut down! I'm so frusturated and I cannot afford to get a new iPad, I need it for school and there is no Apple store for 80 miles nor do I have any insurance or warranty on it! (Obviously considering it's the first iPad to ever come out.) I really don't know what to do! HELP

1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo

What country are you in ? The price for repair (i.e. replacement) for the iPad 3 and 4 appears to be around the €300 mark
If you select your country at the top of this page, then select the 'Warranty & Service Pricing' section on the left of the screen, and then 'My iPad is not eligible for warranty service' section on the right, you should be able to see the price in your country.
