Label report printing blank labels

I have created a 1 1/7 x 3 1/2 inch label in Crystal Reports XI that is printed on a Brother QL-500 label printer.  When I test the label from the CRXI application, it prints fine.  But, when I print from Internet Explorer it prints out the correct label, followed by 3 blank ones.  I checked to be sure that no fields are outside the printable range and have resized and hidden the sections not being used.  Any idea what could be causing this?

The label is being printed from a web-based software called WinLIMS.  It uses a SQL database to look up the data and fills it into the label and prints it.  All of the fields are within the printable area (as far as I can tell anyway).  Here is a link to a screenshot of the label:

  • Reports printing blank pages

    I am running oracle reports on my windows 2000 computer. When I send the reports to my screen, I can see everything fine. When I tell the program to print the report, either directly or after having previewed it, the report prints nothing but blank pages ( the correct number of blank pages also). When I tell it to turn into pdf, I likewise get nothing but blank pages. Any ideas?

    Dear All,
    I am facing the same problem of printing.
    If I send to screen it is shown properly. But if I direct the print to a printer, it does not print anything but skips the same number of pages as I have sent to print. Please if any one knows please reply to this as soon as possible as it is a bit urgent.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Printed XML Purchase Order Report - Printing blank Blanket PO page

    Hi,
    When printing the xml report of a Blanket PO Release, the release lines and headers print first but the last page is a page for the primary blanket PO (PO Num without any releases attached). This page does not contain any information in the header or line fields therefore it is a waste of paper. Looking into the XML code the blanket PO page is pulled in the same manner as the Release lines, against G_Headers. I'm going to look into the Reports Developer SQL to see if I can find something but I would rather not mess with the configuration of the SQL if I did not have to.
    Any ideas on how to get rid of this extra unnecessary page?
    Thanks,
    -Steve

    Hi,
    RDBMS : 11.2.0.1.0
    Oracle Applications : 11.5.10.2
    OS: Unix
    The issue can be reproduced.
    The report in question has had customization but the blank page prints in the Printed Purchase Order Report(Portrait) seeded function as well. From what I see the SQL might be able to modified based off of the input paramet "Print Blanket PO". When this is selected "No" the Blanket header is printed with no lines (that's where the blank PO page is coming from). When selected Yes the blanket header with all the blanket lines are printed. So I may be able to go in and change how that input parameter changes the output, unless there is a better way.

  • How to print blank line on BIP template when the field has no value?

    I have a BIP template like below and all these CHILDREN, NAME, GRAND_CHILDREN, NAME are fields arranaged in the template as a row.Reps can enter values in each of these fields for a max upto 3 rows. The first 2 rows have the values and the last is blank.
    CHILDREN: NAME: GRAND_CHILDREN: NAME:
    Son     John Daughter     Smith
    Daughter Laura Son      Kevin
    In the third row since the fields have no values, the report print blank rows, but I want to delete that blank row and show only the rows(first 2 rows) that have values for the fields.
    Does any one know how to get around this? Please help me to resolve this.

  • HP 4280 prints blank pages on mac using os X 10.8.5

    have updated drivers and deleted all prior printers.

    Hello @kwilmes1969,
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
    I would like to assist you today with resolving the blank pages printing issue you're experiencing when printing from your Mac OS X 10.9.5 computer to your HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One Printer. Can I please have you follow the troubleshooting steps below.
    To start, I am going to have you print a standalone Print Quality Report to verify if the blank pages printing issue is being caused by your computer or by your printer.
    Load letter, A4, or legal unused plain white paper into the input tray.
    Press and hold the Cancel button (), and then press the Start Copy Color button ().
    Release both buttons. The product prints a self-test report.
    1. Printed by the left cartridge
    2. Printed by the right cartridge
    If the Print Quality Report prints perfectly: Than the blank printing issue is being caused by your Mac. Please do not proceed with troubleshooting at this time.
    If the Print Quality Report prints blank, or is missing colour or black:  Than the blank pages printing issue is being caused by your printer. Open the HP Printer Utility on your Mac and run the Printhead Clean. Should this fail to resolve the blank pages printing issue please click here. When the troubleshooting document opens run through 'Step five: Clean the Cartridge Contacts'. Once the cartridges have been manually cleaned, please test printing again.
    Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Best of luck!

  • When printing labels for each printed label a blank label comes out of the printer

    Hello Experts
    We have a CR report which is designed to prints labels for the items using a label printer. After an upgrade that we have last month the settings for this report are missing so the labels were coming out wrong.
    Due to this I have had to reconfigure this report and its printing preferences and so far I have managed to make the prints fit in each label. But the problem is that if I try to print 5 copies of a label, the 5 labels come out of the printer just fine, butt after it another 5 blank labels come out of the printer too.
    I have tried with all parameters in "Printing preferences", mainly in the "Material" tab but nothing works.
    Thanks in advance and regards

  • Having a print problem on a mailing label report using the merge modules.

    Crystal Reports 2008 v 12.1.6.1116
    when I print directly from Crystal Reports designer, the labels print correctly.  If I print the report from our application software using the Crystal merge module, the top of page margin is not the same.
    I am using Crystal Report 2008 Fix Pack 1.5 Merge Modules.
    Any idea what might be causing this ?  I do not see any settings in the CrystalReportViewer that would cause the top of page margin to change.
    Note: We were using a previous version of Crystal Reports, version 11 using the merge modules and it worked just fine. After changing to the 2008 merge modules we are running into this problem.

    Which Version of VS.NET you are using?
           VS 2008 v 9.0.30729.1 SP
    . Which application you are developing desktop or web?
           Desktop
    . Error messages you are facing?
            No error message, just the top of page margin is wrong
    . Are you facing this error in development machine?
           The mailing label report works just fine printing directly from the Crystal Reports 2008 Design application.  However is I try to print the exact same report using the CrystalReportViewer in the merge module, the top of page margin is different.  Basically printing from the designer, there is some spacing at the top of the page, printing in the vb.net app the spacing at the time of is missing.
    . Are you trying to deploy this application?
           Yes
    . Operating System?
            The OS I have tried this on is XP Pro SP3 and also Vista Business SP1
    . How are you deploying your application?
            We build a installshield setup to install the merge modules

    Hi,As my title says, the printer pops out a blank sheet before printing my shipping label.This has been going on for about a week. Nothing has changed or is different.If it can't be fixed i want to get a new one so i don't get behind in my work.Just wondering if this happens when an inexpensive printer is on it's last legs. Thanks, Sandi

    Not saving the label. When i get an order Right on that page is a box "print shipping label'Another page shows where you put the weight in and you check a couple other sequential thingsand the printer pops out the label. Super duper simple. When the first blank sheet comes out i don't have to touch anything for the label to begin printing...it does it on it's own.. maybe the printer needs a vacation as i do!  Sandi

  • Repeating same address in a Mailing Label Report

    I have created a mailing label report that generates address labels from a database. I would like to pass a parameter to this report that would allow me to indicate how many occurances of each address is to be printed. For example my address file contains 10 unique addresses, I want to create 4 labels for each address. This would give me a total of 40 labels. (keeping the 4 like addresses together). not by printing the report 4 times.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Dale Nelson,
    I found some information about Label Looping in Crystal. I never tried it but I think it would help you.
    How to Create a Looping Label Report, Using CR9's Basic Syntax
    1) Create a New Report using the Label Expert, utilizing the desired label size
    2)
    a) insert several fields into the label details section that will create many many details lines for the report: there will have to be   one details line for each label potentially created: these fields will not be shown in the label
    b) the above fields can come from any table..in this sample report, the Customer ID field and the Order ID field are taken  from Crystal's Xtreme sample database
    3) The details section must have a numeric counter assigned to each record.  If there is no database field that is a numeric counter, one will have to be created in the database (in this example, the numeric counter is the Customer ID)
    4) create a parameter field in which the user is prompted to enter the # of labels they wish for each client/customer
    insert this parameter onto the report header
    5)
    a) create a linking formula to insert on the details section of the main report.  The formula will read something like:
            Shared x as number
            x = (x + 1/{?lblnum})
            formula = truncate(x)
    b) if the client enters 6 as the number of labels they wish for each client, the above formula will be incremented by 1, for each  6 times the formula is calculated on the details sections...this ensures that the subreport is ran 6 times for each client and thus six labels are produced
    6) Insert a Subreport that will contain the fields and structure of an address label
    7) create a link to the subreport: from the Linking Formula (above) to the client ID (customer ID number field) in the subreport
    8) blank main report details lines will now have to be suppressed.  In the subreport create a formula @Null Check similar to:
    whileprintingrecords;
    shared numbervar check;
    if isnull({Customer.Customer Name}) then check := 6
    Insert this formula on the subreport details section and suppress it
    9) in the main report, go to format the details section and select the Suppression formula button.  Insert a formula similar to:
    whileprintingrecords;
    shared numbervar check;
    check =6
    the above two steps will ensure that main report details sections will be suppressed after the labels are printed
    Notes:
    > There will be one blank label printed at the end of the report.
    > The order of the labels will be in the order specified by the database: if a different order is desired, this should be specified using a query or stored procedure at the database end
    > A successful link is created between a manual running total [@link formula] and the subreport's Customer ID field. This link is possible as the [@link formula] formula is written in Basic Syntax, and hence is processed before the subreport link. This is not possible using earlier versions of Crystal, as the formula editor did not have the option to use Basic Syntax.

    Raghavendra

    There's a great vendor site with this data readily available, better than the Avery site in my opinion. But, you can get the same info in the Contacts Print dialog pane.
    You can grab a template matching these dimensions from that vendor site, Copy the table after opening the Word Template in Pages and drop the into a blank Numbers Sheet.
    I found that Sheet side margins of 0.15" worked better than 0.18. For some reason the table wanted to flow to the next page to the right with 0.18". Turning off the Headers and Footers and setting Top and Bottom Margins to 0.5" worked well. These adjustments are made in the Sheets Inspector.
    So, that will put the template you specified into a Numbers document and you can print labels properly aligned from there. Since your problem statement is a bit lacking in detail, that's all I can offer you at this point.

  • Exporting a mailing label report to PDF shifts the address off ...

    Hi.
    The report is created using the wizard "File->New->Mailing Label Report". Everything looks good at the preview. Following are the dimensions:
    - 4 X 1 inches
    - 2 labels across, 10 down
    - Paper would be 8-1/2 X 11 inches (Letter sized) (labeled) paper
    - 0.5 inches page margin on top and bottom
    - 0.156 inches left & right margins
    - Horizontally .188 inches between labels
    - Vertically NO space between labels
    For this, in the Crystal Reports Designer, I used Mailing Label Type = "Address (Avery 5261)".
    Issue
    However, when trying to export the report to PDF and when we print the report, addresses go off the labels (shifts up slightly starting from the begining). It looks like the font sizes, etc are not maintained. Therefore, visually, addresses shifts up gradually and does not fall into labels.
    Other specific details
    The first address was too low, I mean after .5 inches top margin, this first address started to appear .4 inches down the margin. If we measure from top of one address to the top of next one, it is about .9 inch and not 1 inch.
    Later I tried this [template|http://www.worldlabel.com/Pages/crystal-reports.htm] as well. I faced the same issue.
    Had anyone worked with mailing labels report faced similar issue?
    I appreciate your help
