Labview add-on checks for a VI

Hello all,
I am looking at updating a program for a customer that was not originally written by me (customer does not want to use the original vendor for whatever reason) and they've asked me to review their code. I looked at the code with version 8.5.1 with misc toolkits on an existing Labview PC and cannot open some of the VIs (8.6) - I'm good there. My concern is identifying what the toolkit dependencies required are (for instance: sound and vibration, vision, etc.)
My driver is that I have to purchase a separate PC and Labview license for this application (can't use the PC I'm viewing the code on) and need to know my costs up front - is there a quick way to evaluate a top level VI and all of the dependency VIs and know what version of Labview (pro, suite, etc.) and dependencies (sound, vision, etc.) are needed?

You might be able to determine some of the packages used by the directory structure. Many toolkits are installed in vi.lib\addons\.
If the path includes vi.lib\addons\internet, then the Internet Toolkit is used; TestStand utility VIs are in vi.lib\addons\TestStand. I'm not familiar with IMAQ or other toolkits

Add-ons - Check for updates doesn't work

In FF5 i found that the "Check for Updates" and "Update Add-ons Automatically" does not work for plugins. I notice in FF6 that a link has appeared "Check to see if your plugins are up to date".
However i've now discovered that in FF6, "Check for Updates", "Find Updates" (from the right-click menu of a particular add-on) and "Update Add-ons Automatically" did not work for extensions either.

My question is - is Check for Updates / Update Add-ons automatically intended to work for either plugins or extensions. If so, has the bug been reported, if not, why is it there?

That is because the creator hasn't uploaded that new version yet to the Add-ons site and if he has done that then the extension still needs to be approved before updating will work.<br />
Such unapproved extension usually appear first on the versions page (e.g. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/speed-dial/versions/) waiting for review, but that hasn't happened yet if this case.
Plugins always need to be updated manually by visiting the website or via an alert from the plugin (Java and Shockwave do that)

first u need to find out in which user rules u are using this object , after that if u want to restrict users then remove create/change values from that object values .
make use of Tcode SUIM to find out all roles which are using this Object.
or
ask ur basis guy to remove authorizations to create/change....

Firefox won't open after checking for add-on updates

Hi
i am having problems with Add-ons checking for updates.
The first problem is that in add-on manager, even though i have it set to automatically update add-ons, it has no history of finding any and it's failure to find a new version of a plug-in meant pdfs weren't opening see full details here ... https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/829011
The problem i am now having is that when i manually check for updates in Add-Ons manager, it pauses for a few seconds, and completes it's task by saying it hasn't found anything. If i then close Firefox, i can't open Firefox again until i go into task manager and kill the process. It says it's already running and i have to close it first?!

can't believe that i was the only person to have the problem, but no replies whatsoever suggest i was. have now upgraded to 5.0 where the problem has not yet reoccurred.

Spell check for Turkish

I try to use pages for my reports or notes.
Pages does not perform spell check in Turkish, same as the mail, I can't think of anybody in todays life and does not use mail. When will Turkish users have language support in our own language? I don't mean sceens, they are in Turkish but when I write someting in Mail, its all red underlined.

Java will not update in the check for addon updates in Firefox 17.0.1

Firefox 17.0.1, xp, sp3
I got to tools>add-ons, check for updates. It shows both "Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U9" and "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.90.5" as out of date.
I do the update part and download updates. But, when I recheck, Firefox tells me that these are still not updated.
I remove all Java from control panel and double check with "Hijack-this" and ccleaner, restart computer, then do the Java download again from the Java site linked by Mozella firefox update links. I do the whole updates process.
After I check again in the Add-on update checking, it still shows both of the above Java's as still being outdated.

Production order settlement currently can be done by any user of any company code. there is a high risk involved in the same since unauthorized postings may happen. Firefox "check for add-on updates" checks even when not selected, request website list for firewall blocking purposes

I work for the Tech Department in a school district. Our student computers are locked down and all settings are reset after a restart. We have set firefox to always allow all add-ons to run and to never check for updates (we update them on a schedule we control). However, since the latest release, we have been prompted after EVERY flash AND EVERY java update that they are out of date and need to be updated. Having the students click on this every time for every affected webpage is no longer an option. We are also not interested in white-listing pages individually; instead, we would like to prevent firefox from finding the update server to prevent any further prompts.
Please provide me with all of the websites/web addresses that "check for add-on updates" uses so we can block them at the firewall level.

Part of the problem may be the recent flurry of required updates to FlashPlayer. As I understand it Mozilla took the exceptional step of blocklisting some of those FlashPlayer versions after fixes were released because there were known exploits in the wild.

Possibly you are having difficulty in keeping the software updated and so seeing valid warnings from Firefox. You appear (System info aside) to be posting using Firefox 34. The current Release is Fx35.0.1
Possibly it would be worth you considering using Firefox ESR, that still has regular updates including backported critical security fixes, but the major version stays the same for longer and there are less frequent feature changes.

That can be a problem with the compatibility.ini file in the Firefox profile folder.
Try to rename (or delete) the compatibility.ini file in the Firefox profile folder to see if that helps.

Checking for not up-to-date add-ons the latest VLC browser plug-in v. 1.0.5 'Goldeneye' is reported te be obsolete. Why?

The add-on causes no troubles as far as I'm aware of, and despite the recent VLC-application updates, browser plug-in 1.0.5 is still the latest version. Why is Firefox add-on check reporting this plug-in as being obsolete? A newer one is not available.

Yes, VLC 2.0.0 is installed. And so is the browser plug-in 1.0.5, which hasn't been updated for a long time. That's why I'm wondering why Firefox 'thinks' there's a new version of that particular plug-in available.

I had saved one copy as an .asp but then resaved it to .xhtml
I'm assuming this is a static web site. Rename (F2) all your pages with .html or .htm extension.
.xhtml is not a valid extension.

Firefox checks for updates to add-ons every time it starts?

Every time I click my shortcut to open Firefox, a window pops up. This window scans my installed add-ons and checks for updates. Then, Firefox opens. One of my add-ons, "Zotero Word Integration" tries to install itself every time. If I have an instance of Microsoft Word open, this installation fails, but ultimately, Firefox opens and runs fine. The add-on scan takes approx. 30 seconds, so if I accidentally close FF, it's a big hassle. This first started happening after I updated to FF 8. I downloaded and installed FF7 but the problem persisted. Now, I am back to FF8, but, alas, nothing has changed. None of my other add-ons are having problems except for the ones that aren't compatible with FF8 yet. FYI, I do have Roboform, but it is the current version, both to-go, and everywhere.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
