LabVIEW program error

Hi,
I am new to LabVIEW. So kindly request your help.
I am working on Raman Spectrometer and now the output graph has shifted left by 10 units
in X-axis scale. For an example, Usually I see GaN peak at 570 cm^-1(x-axis value), but now I can see
that peak at 560 cm-1. Similarly, each output graph has shifted by 10 cm^-1.
What can I do to correct this LabVIEW error?

You should probably post this in the LabVIEW forum.  I see if I can have it moved...
Depending on the code it might just be the axis offset, but it is impossible to tell without seeing code. Is it a waveform or xy graph? What is the data type (array, waveform, dynamic, etc.)

  • Help, Ni-Daq channel names and labview program error 10001?

Can anyone please help me, I have inherited a role that I know nothing about. I have managed to get an NT pc to now recognise the SC-2345 board, set up and configure two channels and test them in Measurement and Automation program, this I managed after getting error 10401 and looking within these message boards which are very good.
I have then started a labview program, previously written by ex-employee, and now get error 10001, after trawling the FAQ and forums I think that I have a naming error in the virtual channels created, how do I find out what the channels should be named within the Labview program, do I need to load an editor etc and then open a config file?
Sorry if this seams like a simple error, but I am trying to learn the software from a book that is a little tattered.
    Regards

    Hi,
error 10001 can be caused by a few things including an incorrect scanning order.
If you'd like to post your code back onto here (or if it's large, ftp it to ftp.ni.com/incoming and let use know the name of the zip file you've packaged it into), then we can see what the DAQ section is supposed to be doing and hopefully provide some clues as to where to look for the information / why the error is occuring.
The first thing to do is go back to Measurement and Automation explorer and try setting up a global task that refers to the channels you're interested in.
This removes the programming side of things, since you select from drop down lists, to verify that you can communicate correctly with the hardware at the rates and across the channels that you want.
These links is going to be your best learning point for getting up an running with the program.

    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4656
In terms of LabVIEW, there's several I/O controls you can use which will list the hardware channels you have configured or the global tasks you have created in Measurement and Automation explorer. (see the last link above)
Another option is to look at our Alliance Partners if you need things configured and up and running in a hurry.
    http://www.ni.com/alliance
If you just need a little pointer on getting kicked off, then you could see if you local sales engineer is available to go through things with you for an hour if they're in your area at a convenient time (for the UK / Ireland, please call in on 01635 572410 and ask to go through to sales), or we do offer start-up assistance (but that's something you need to purchase) to get a day's onsite assistance with getting your hardware up and running and starting you off with advice / examples on your application (note this is an effort based thing rather than a results based guarantee)
Finally you could consider coming on one of our courses on LabVIEW and / or Data Acquisition to learn more about the software / hardware and be better prepared to handle the implementation yourself.
    Hope that helps

  • Error when running the LabVIEW program

    hello...........
I'm newbie in LabVIEW....I have a problem when i'm running the LabVIEW program...i want to analyse data using the LabVIEW through the real experiment....
My problem is, there is an Error when i try to start the program...This Error forced me to restart the program several times until it can run.......By the way, i'm using Picoscopes 3206 to connect the LabVIEW program in PC with the real experiment.....
Here, I'm attached the picture that I snap when the Error occur....

You have to try to isolate the problem...
Use 'Diagram disable' or 'Case' structure to run special part of code or try write a specific code to access and manage your equipment.
    Several questions could help:
    - Are you up to date with your hardware driver?
    - Do you call external ressources (ex: dll)? perhaps with instability
    - Do you properly close connection with your equipment after using?
    - With your offline mode, do you load all the code, including hardware driver or do you use a special method without no loading the specific code?
    - When you are able to run after many tries, is the program stable? Can you re-start it without exiting LabVIEW?

  • Program Error : Labview.exe has generated errors,,etc? Any Ideas

I keep getting this error popup titled Program Error.  The message reads, "LabView.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."
This appears to happen randomly including while a program is running, while LabView is sitting idle and even after I've closed Labview. I am running 8.0 on Windows 2000. Any ideas?

    Hello Paul,
There is actually a great online Knowledgebase that explains where you can find error logs, and I have linked it for you here. If you don't get a prompt from LabVIEW after the crash to "investigate the error" (which simply guides you through the process of submitting your error log), then you can submit your error log directly by going here and choosing "Email NI". Be sure to include a detailed description about how to reproduce the crash or what circumstances increase the frequency of crashes like this.

  • No video at startup of Labview program gives me error. How do I automatically reacquire periodically?

I have a PCI 1411 running Labview NI-IMAQ 3.0. I am hooked to a military infrared device. I need to be able to power on the camera with a Labview program. Therefore, I have no video at startup and need to be able to acquire once I start. Now, if no video is running when I start, I never see video and I get an acquisition error. What should I do? Thanks!

This depends on how you plan to power on the camera. Are going to switch the AC power to the camera, toggle a digital enable line, or send a serial command? Without knowing how this camera works it's difficult to say how to turn it on, but more than likely LabVIEW (with the right hardware) will acommodate your camera.
Once you have the camera powered, you can proceed with the acquisition as normal. If there's no way to know whether the camera is powered, you could just call a snap command in a loop periodically and exit when you no longer see an error or you get tired of waiting.
    Cheers,
    Brent

  • Can multiple LabVIEW programs simultaneously access the same NI-DAQmx hardware?

I am developing a test station system that, in essence, runs several
seperate LabVIEW programs simultaneously on the same computer, each
controlling a different set of I/O channels on one shared set of NI
DAQ hardware (analog and digital I/O PCI boards with external signal
    conditioning).
I have already gotten a system like this running almost flawlessly
using LabVIEW 6.1, NI-DAQmx 7.1 with traditional channels, and older
E-series DAQ hardware. So long as two programs do not try to write to
the same output channel simultaneously, everything works exactly as
expected--I can even read from the same (named) channel simultaneously
from more than one program. The only issue I have had is that if
    one
of the compiled applications is closed (not just stopped, but closed)
while others are still running, Windows XP (SP1) will bluescreen on a
driver error. This is undesireable, but acceptable (though if there's
    a fix/workaround, I'd love to hear it).
I am now building a similar system using mostly the same software
(with an upgrade to LabVIEW 7.1), and I've noticed that the new
M-series DAQ hardware seems to offer much more bang for the buck than
old E-series hardware and its kin.
My question is this: It appears that I/O on M-series hardware must be
performed with new mx channels, with traditional channels not being an
option. I am therefore wondering if I will be able to do this kind of
multiple simultaneous access with mx channels, or if I must purchase
the classic hardware and use traditional channels for this somewhat
    unorthodox application.
(Incidentally, the multiple simultaneous program thing is a
requirement for this system, as it is the only clean way to run
    multiple
identical copies of the same complete program that only
operate on different I/O channels, and re-doing the program from
    scratch is not an option.)

    Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
To address your question, I don't know if multiple simultaneous access with mx channels is possible, but I do not see why it wouldn't be. The best way to find out would be to test it. I don't have your program or hardware, so I'm pointing you to some Compatibility VIs. These are VIs that look exactly like Traditional DAQ VIs except that underneath they call the DAQmx driver instead of the Traditional DAQ driver. If your device works when you substitute these Compatibility VIs in for the Traditional DAQ VIs, then you'll know the M Series boards will work for you.
Here is the link for information about the Compatibility VIs:

  • LabVIEW Lode Error code 3

I have installed the LabVIEW runtime engine on a machine that does not have LabVIEW installed.  I then exported my program to a .exe using the project manager.  When I went to run the .exe, I get an error message that says "Application failed to start because instrsup.dll was not found" and it suggests re-installing the application (though they don't specify what "the application is," the run-time or the .exe?) may solve the problem.  When I click "OK" a second error message pops up that says "An error occurred loading VI 'dat4700outputvalue.vi'  LabVIEW load error 3: could not load front panel.  "When I click OK on the 2nd error message, the 1st message comes up (with one ofthe other Datron driver .vis), and it cycles between the two until I have said "OK" to each error message about 10 times.  After clicking "ok" on the 2 error messages enough, the front panel finally shows up, along with a 3rd error message that says "missing sub.vi dat4700 initialize in VI TVC Cal warmup" along with all of my other drivers for my Datron 4700.
It looks like all of my drivers for my Datron 4700 don't make it into the program for some reason.  I have tried re-compiling the program through the project manager and it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?  The only other thing I can think to try is just re-installing the run time engine...

You will need to provide the link. The only Datron 4700 in the NI Instrument Driver Network is a LabWindows driver - not LabVIEW at all and your mention of a dll shows that it is not a native LabVIEW driver. Do you know for a fact that the driver does not require anything additional such as the CVI run-time or the IVI Compliance Package?

I can not create an Installer on LabView, After install the Vision Builder Demo and then uninstall it. I can not create a Labview installer anymore, it asks me for a Vision Builder Installer, even if My Labview program does not have nothing to do with it...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi Shada this can happen if you are including additional installers to your installer for example DAQmx. When you are doing this the installer has to include other files like MAX (Measuremente and Automation Explorer). Probably when you installed Vision Builder it updated MAX, so when your installer is trying to Include MAX, its asking for the source where it was installed in your computer in this case Vision Builder.
Here you can cache the information so its not asked again, or you can download a newer version fo DAQmx, so it will update MAX and change de dependecy.

  • Using APT ActiveX methods to create a labview program for BPC 203 3 channel Benchtop Piezo controller

    Hi Everyone,
I am really very new to Labview and i am in great need for some help.I am assigned a task where i am supposed to create a labview program to control or moniter a BPC203 3 channel benchtop  Piezo controller. I created a program with the help of the instructions provided in the APT-Labview guide provided by Thorlabs. But th program doesnt run . Whenever i try to run it i get the same error which says that "Control HW Communications disabled".I have attached a snapshot of the error message. So i tried to create a small program in labview which would read the volage output.Even there i got the same error message.I suppose there is some mistake on my part which i am not able to correct due to the lack of proper knowledge.Could anyone please help me to solve this problem.A slight elaboration would be highly appreciated. Also i think the error lies in the use of invoke node with the get Voltage output method. I am not sure whether the parameters i have provided to the invoke node are correct.Any help of any sort would be highly appreciated.

    Hi
I had the same problem today. However, I noticed that the piezo controller has 3 channels with separate slots and they are packaged in the same box. Therefore the whole box has a serial number, probably something like 71822280, and this is written with large letter. Now, in order to communicate with any of the channels, this does not help, but one needs to communicate directly with the interested channel and they have thier OWN SERIAL NUMBERS.
For example channel 1 (my X direction in the nanoMax stage) has serial 91822281, Y has 91822282 and Z has 91822283. So try looking if you have the right serial number Hopefully you found out this yourself but this might help others, I took me3 hours to get this thing working when I started to plug-in the cables and everything.

  • How to create a labview program and use it as a compiled prgram

I am a mechanical engineer, and I have some formulas and equations that I used to obtain maximum thickness of pipelines and also in the design of steel structures, what I need now is to use Labview to put these huge number of formulas in one program. I can do that, but the problem after I make the program I want it to be used by anybody on  any PC which is not installed Labview on it, and that is the problem, I don't know if I can make an excel  sheet or something to be the interface that can be used by the user, and if I can, I hope that I can have the details of who to execute that.

LabVIEW interacts with Microsoft Excel using its Active X hooks. Anything Microsoft has exposed in the Active X API, LabVIEW can do. This includes opening Excel, reading values, writing values, etc. Doing this can be tricky for a novice programmer and NI has created the Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office that plugs into LabVIEW for a more streamlined experience.
The Developer Zone is a good place to start a search looking for Active X Excel examples: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/fn/p/sn/n16:en/sb/navsRel?q=microsoft+excel+labview&x=0&y=0
As well as the Forum: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=BreakPoint&message.id=2391
Reading and writing to an open Excel file could become quite cumbersome however. If the Excel file is open and the user is interacting with it, writing to that same file will return an error saying that the file is currently open. It would have to end up like this: User opens file, modifies some fields, saves file and closes excel. LabVIEW program opens file, reads fields and writes a result, then opens Excel to display to the user the result.
Is there any specific reason you want to use Excel as your user interface? You can use the front panel of a LabVIEW application to enter the data and display the results, all while writing this data to an Excel file for logging/reference in the future.

  • How to run labview program in debugging mode in windows 95 version

    Respected all,
I am facing probelm while running probe.vi.
I received this command "connection to acquisition board was not found" when i run labview program.
I  am using labview 5.1, fieldpoint FP 1000, NI-DAQ 6.5, Field point explorer version 1.6, Measurement and Automation Explorer 1.0.1.
I would kindly request you please help me how to run my program probe.vi in debugging mode in windows 95 version, so that i can locate where error occurs.
    Thanking You
    Yours faithfully
    M.Vijay

    Respected Norbert,
Thank you very much to for your help.
Norbert : Possible reasons are e.g. wrong IDs for measurement devices. If the error is connect to the FieldPoint, it is possible that it isn't configured correctly.
I am using Field point explorer 1.6, The Field point instrument FP 1000 and RS-232 port is using. It is confirmed that the field point instrument is working properly by LED light indication test.
Norbert: It sound like you are using DAQ devices (like PCI MIO 6952E) in the application. Are you sure that you select the correct device ID for this?
I am asking you to know, If i using Labview and  Fieldpoint instrument FP 1000 to monitor my parameter interms of All, Channel 0, Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3, Channel 4, Channel 5, Channel 6, Channel 7 for my measurement.
But now i need to solve the command connection to acquisition board was not found, The expert say this command is due to there was no AT-AO-10 Analog Output board was present in CPU.
I do not find AT-AO-10 Analog Output board in my CPU, Previously the instrument was worked perfectly by other person who assembled everthing to measure temperature.
The only aswer know send by previous person is if my task does not imply the use of a DAQ you probably have to locate where the DAQ driver is called and exclude it from the program. try to run the program in debugging mode so that you can locate where the error occurs.
I do not know how to proceed his instruction. So i would kindly request you to please help me to solve my probelm.
I also removed AT-AO-10 software from device manager >> Data Acquisition system >>  AT-AO-10 just now.
I also find GPIB version 1.30, when i remove in add or remove program, it say that Error removing the GPIB.
I am eagerly waiting for your help.
    Thanking You
    Yours faithfully

  • I have some software problems of running matlab script node in the LabVIEW program.

    Hi there,
I wrote a simple matlab code, like x= 1, y = x*2. Then I tried to put them into matlab script node in LabVIEW.
However, when I ran the program, I couldn't run and Labiew show some error.
Then I tried the method talked before on this forum. Please see the following link.
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=MathScript&thread.id=571
I followed the instruction and open the "command prompt," type some commands then I could run the program, and simultaneously, the LabVIEW program open "Matlab command line window" and run my labview code. However, if I didn't use the command prompt, the  "matlab command window" will not be opened by running the labview program. It would just show some error. And even if I turn on the matlab program in advance, I still couldn't run the labview program.
Is there any effecient way to deal with this problem without using "command prompt?" Because I try another PC with both matlab and labview installed on it, I "can" run my simple matlab script node on it, and it will open the matlab command line window automatically by running my code. Therefore, I thought there might be some software linking problems in the previous PC I used . Do you have any ideas?
    Thanks in advacne.

    Dear Lynn,
I understand that it might be difficult to understand with looking at the Nanonis sub vi's. Sorry about that. If I upload a PDF of the block diagram, would it help at all?
Anyway, I should clarify one thing about the program. Actually, previously, I have use the similar block diagram but I have tried to generate the voltage by using a DAQ. This time, since I intend to use the Nanonis programming interface (replacing the wire lines) from the relay output to the programming interface-Open App ref instead of the NI daq. I expected that it should work but unfortunately, although the program work for the NI DAQ, it doesn't for the Nanonis programming interface. Thus, I am seeking advice on what might had happen and what I should do. I am still a new in writing Labview programs, thus I really do appreciate to get all the advice that I can get.
