LabVIEW Real-Time and Remote Front Panel MemoryManager.cpp line 437 error

Hi all,
I'm using a smartcamera (NI 1742) with LabVIEW Real-Time 8.6.
When I look at the Front Panel with the web browser and I close the browser or I Stop the executable, I always get this error: MemoryManager.cpp line 437. I've checked if someone else had this error, but I guess I'm the only person who got this error. I saw someone who had the MemoryManager.cpp line 406, but mine isn't on this line.
The application works well, but when I got the error, I need to reboot the smartcam to get it works. In my application, I use the Modbus library and I read/write binary file in the hard disk of the smartcam....
Anyone knows the solution?
Thank you very much
Stephanie

Hi again,
Still didn't find the problem on my side. Here's a picture of my code. If I put the code surrended in red at place (1), I don't get the error, but if I put the code at place (2), I get the error. Why oh why....?
I get the error when I close the browser or click Back button of the browser or Stop the application with the red dot or stop the application with the Quit button on my front panel.
This morning I found a post on this forum about getting an error using Property node and Remote panel (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=252705). I did what they suggest: wire the property output to an indicator and it works (disable "Enable automatic error handling dialod" didn't work... I don't know why)... until I put extra code in my VI.
I really need help please!
Thank you
Stephanie

  • Labview Real-Time and CompactRIO questions

    Hi
everyone! We have new troubles about CompactRio and Real Time module:
    -We want to
translate into real-time module a VI we have done with Labview 8 .2. In order
to do that we have discovered an option placed in Project Explorer  (Tools->Real-Time
module->Communication Wizard) that seems to translate automatically into Real-Time
    language. Is it true?
    - If it was
true we would want to do a transmitter VI in CompactRio (RT target)  and a receiver VI in the Host. But the
Communication Wizard creates a VI in the Host and a VI in the RT target (in
Real Time language) for each VI we enter to translate ( so we obtain 4 VI’s in
the same project , two of them as transmitter, and two of them as receiver)
    -We have
tried to deploy some VI’s to the CompactRio and we get always an error.
CompactRio’s configuration is allright and it is well recognized by MAX. Why
does the error appear, and how can we work it out?
    We
need to configure the Serial Port placed in CompactRio in order to adjust some
features, such us bauds value. MAX recognized the CompactRio’s Serial Port, but
all the opctions to configure them are disabled.
    I hope you
can answer these questions. Thank you.

  • Trouble getting a subvi to update a graph in real-time on the front panel

    Hi All,
First post here, so play nice =). I am trying to update a graph on the front panel from within one of my subvis, however it does not update it in real-time. It will only show the completed graph after the subvi finishes running. I have tried to use references/property nodes and I have also tried using my chart as a global variable, but neither of those methods have worked (I am probably doing it wrong). Can anyone provide a detailed walk-through of how to do this using either one of those methods? Or perhaps even a different method?

    ModusPwnens wrote:
This is how you do it, right?:
Try this for a quick demo of the reference method:
Create a VI as shown in the image.
Select only the while loop and do "edit...create subVI" (as shown). (you will get a subVI that contains the needed connectors and is alread wired to the reference)
Run the main VI, and the chart will update every 200ms.
Note that this is only a draft and many things are missing. (For example, the subVI cannot be stopped at the moment. Also, you want a graph, and not a chart.)

  • Labview real-time and simpowersystems toolbx from matlab

    Hello,
I have a simulink model built with SimPowerSystems toolbox. I want to run this model on a RT target which is a desktop ETS in this case. I follwoed the instructions on how to create and deploy the DLL. There are two problems I am facing--
    1. The host screen grays out even though the mapping is correct. (This is verfied by using a similar working file.)
    2. The RT target hangs and then the connection is lost. I don't get any error message and after some time as there is no communication, I get error 66/63 etc network related error.
    The questions are:
    1. Is SimPowerSystem toolbox supported in SIT? ( I read that the SimMechanics is not supported.)
    2. Is there any limitation on how many nodes I can use so that the RT system can run the model without getting hung up.
    The versions I'm using are:
    LabView 8.2, SIT 3.0.2
    Matlab R2006b, SIMULINK 6.5, Real-time workshop 6.5
    microsoft visual C/C++ 6.0
Please let me know ASAP if anyone has faced this problem before or if someone can answer my questions.
    Thanks,
    Gayatri

Signals also can be removed when the code is generated and compiled due to optimizations.  Right clicking on a signal and making it a testpoint forces RTW to include that signal in the compiled code signal list.  The appropriate discussion is posted below.
Models Using Signal Storage Reuse, Block Reduction Optimization, or Virtual Blocks
Mappings might appear invalid if the model uses either Signal Storage Reuse or Block Reduction Optimization. These items are options you can set in the Simulink application software to reduce the memory footprint of the model. Disabling these options for the entire model makes all signals available for probing but increases the memory footprint of the model. You can mark individual signals as test points to maintain a reduced memory footprint while keeping certain signals available for probing. To make this change, load the model in the Simulink application software and perform the following actions:
For The MathWorks, Inc. MATLAB® application software release 13, right-click a signal and select Signal properties from the shortcut menu. Place a checkmark in the SimulinkGlobal(Test Point) checkbox and click the OK button to save changes.
For the MATLAB® application software release 14 and later, right-click a signal and select Signal properties from the shortcut menu. Click the Logging and accessibility tab, place a checkmark in the Test point checkbox, and click the OK button to save changes.
Note  If you previously converted this model to a model DLL, you must convert the model to a model DLL again after marking signals as test points.
Similarly, you might not be able to probe signals from Virtual Blocks such as Mux, Demux, Bus Selector, and so on. Marking signals from these blocks as test points makes the signals available for probing.
Refer to the Simulink documentation for information about Signal Storage Reuse, Block Reduction Optimization, Virtual Blocks, and test points.
    Models Using Inline Parameters
You might not be able to manipulate model parameters if that model uses the Inline parameters option in the Simulink application software. This option writes a constant value to each model parameter. You must launch the Simulink application software and disable this option so the Simulation Interface Toolkit can manipulate the model parameters.
Refer to the Simulink documentation for information about inline parameters.
Models Containing Linked or Masked Subsystems
You can create mappings to parameters and signals of masked subsystems. However, if a subsystem is linked, or linked and masked, any mappings to parameters and signals of that subsystem appear invalid. Refer to the Simulink documentation for information about linked and masked subsystems.
    Subsystems without Parameters or Signals
If a model contains a subsystem that does not have any parameters or signals, that subsystem appears in the model tree when you create mappings. However, you cannot create mappings to/from that subsystem.

  • Error accessing Remote Front Panel on RT Target after upgrade to LV2011

I'm upgrading a real-time application (target is a desktop PC running the LabVIEW real-time) from LabVIEW 2009 to 2011.  Under 2009, it was possible the view the main VI remotely by browsing to a static HTML page that embedded the front panel.  After upgrading to LabVIEW 2011, instead of the front panel image I get an error saying "Server does not support Remote Panels."  I have already gone through the list of possible causes from "Server Does Not Support Remote Panels" Error When Connecting to Remote Front Panel, and none of these resolved the problem.  I am using the standard LabVIEW web server, there is a direct ethernet cable connecting my computer with the real-time system, and I have recreated the web page to reference the correct plug-in version.  I reformatted the RT system and then did a clean install of the components from LabVIEW 2011 (using the Add/Remove Software feature in Measurement and Automation Explorer).  I also created a new test project with a new simple VI; I was able to access that VI remotely on port 8000, but not on the default port 80 (which used to work under LabVIEW 2009).  What changed in the web server between LabVIEW 2009 and 2011?  Can I use the standard HTTP port 80 to serve a static page with an embedded VI, or does this now only work on other ports (and if so, why)?  Will I need to recreate my entire project in LabVIEW 2011 in order to get this working at all?

Got it working, after much experimentation.  Seems to require installing exactly the right combination of items on the RT target, as some items (web services? web configuration? the "application web server"?) apparently run a separate web server - or instance of the web server - on port 80, which prevents remote front panels from being served on that port.

  • Viewing data in real-time and saving on-demand - USB4000 Spectrometer

    Hey,
I am trying to create a program with a USB4000 Fiber Optic Spectrometer to allow the user to view the data in real-time on the front-panel, yet to be implemented, and also be able to save the data to an excel datasheet, or if another format if more appropriate. I am reasonably new to LabVIEW and have limited experience with saving data to excel.
I am currently trying to build upon one of the example VIs given with the drivers. Currently the VI produces data like the following:
    Wavelength (nm)    Spectrum Data
    xyz                               xyz
    xyz                               xyz
    xyz                               xyz
    xyz                               xyz
I want my VI to continue to append to a new column every iteration but I think due to me inputting an array of dimension size 2 it can't but am unsure how to get around this?
The current VI starts off by creating the Headers and then appending to insert the spectrometer Data.
Any help would be much appreciated, apologies if I am unclear about anything.

Ok, a couple comments. First, it is easier to build a 2D array by appending rows and then transposing the array before saving it. Also it is much more efficient to preallocate the array if you know how many columns the data is going to have.
Second, adding a new column or row isn't a problem because an additional column (or row) doesn't effect the number of dimensions.

  • NI-DAQmx 7.4 Changes for LabVIEW Real-Time

Hello LabVIEW Real-Time and DAQmx users,
National Instruments has recently released NI-DAQmx 7.4. Changes introduced in NI-DAQmx 7.4 provide increased flexibility when performing hardware-timed single-point operations on real-time platforms. The Developer Zone Tutorial: DAQmx Hardware-Timed Single Point Lateness Checking has been created to help explain these changes. Information is also available in the NI-DAQmx Help.
In order to provide these changes in NI-DAQmx 7.4, the behavior of 'DAQmx Is Read or Write Late.vi', used in previous versions, had to be changed. In NI-DAQmx 7.4, the 'DAQmx Is Read or Write Late.vi' has been obsoleted and no longer performs any lateness checking. Applications being upgraded to NI-DAQmx 7.4 are recommended to use one of the lateness checking options discussed in the above tutorial.

    Hello,
I changed the program and added a case structure to configure each channel according their type. In order to go through all the channels in the configuration file, I put a for structure.
It seems it is working, however, when I start acquisition, I only see one channel and that is last one which is configure.
Here is the original file, configures all, but only works for AI Voltage:
    Here is the modified one:

  • VI containing Event Structure will not receive front panel events in LabVIEW Real-Time.

Hi again, I'm working in my first UI (attached VI).
It works when running directly from PC. It doesn't when running from cRIO, there's the message "VI containing Event Structure will not receive front panel events in LabVIEW Real-Time". I've been reading and I found that "Event structures on RT targets do not support events associated with user interface objects, such as VI panels or controls. For example, associating the Value Change event with a control does not work. RT targets support only user events".
Is that the problem? If it is, how can I create Mouse Up, Mouse Enter, Value Change (or other user interface events) user events?
If I run my VI in FPGA mode should it run?

  • LabVIEW Remote Front Panels and WebCT or Blackboard Integration

    Hi,
Has any one had any experience with getting LabVIEW Remote Front Panels working with WebCT or Blackboard E-learing software?
Generating the Remote Front Panel is easy enough, it's incorporating the Remote Front Panel into WebCT or Blackboard that am interested in?

    Hi,
Are you using FieldPoint 6.0.2?  We have a Corrective Action Report (#125870) for the remote front panels for the cFP-2220 with LabVIEW 8.6 and FieldPoint 6.0.2.  R&D is currently working on a fix, until then, the only known workaround is to using LabVIEW 8.5.1.

  • Configuring Remote Front Panels on a Real-Time Target, smart camera, but there is no image in the web page.

I do see the web page, but the image  itself is not loading.i know a problem is with the installation of the LabVIEW ActiveX plug-in or the IMAQ ActiveX plug-in.  The LabVIEW ActiveX plug-in is required for ALL remote front panel viewing, and the IMAQ ActiveX plug-in is needed for VIs that use the Image Display. how can i do ?where can i get the the IMAQ ActiveX plug-in. help me!

  • How can i access remote front panel in RT with LabVIEW run time engine in client PC

    Hi to all,
I have developed the RT application with cRIO 9075 integrated chassis. And i have access its remote front panel in client PC. Now i want to access the remote panel in the client PC without having LabVIEW runtime engine. If i connect the remote panel with that client, it shows only the vi border. i doesn't downloads the  front panel.
How Can i access its remote front panel without LabVIEW runtime engine in the client PC?

You cannot view a remote front panel without the LabVIEW runtime - the LabVIEW runtime is what makes the remote front panel possible.  What you will want to do instead is likely create a Web Service that you can access from a remote PC without requiring the LabVIEW runtime.  However, this will require you to develop a web-based HTML or similar UI to interact with the VIs running on your system - NI hasn't yet created a way to export a LabVIEW front panel as an HTML'ish page.

  • Do you need a web browser and internet server to run LabVIEW remote front panel?

Does anyone know if ones needs an internet server to use the Remote Front Panel application of LabVIEW, or is it also possible to use a LAN/WAN for the same application?  if it is possible, how does one set up such a system?

You can do this on any IP based system (which includes LANs).
Basically, you need to be able to ping the server and to have the RFP port allowed in the firewall.
Then you need to enable the option in the application. If this is an executable, you will need to configure this in the Options dialog or copy some lines from the LabVIEW.ini file into your EXE's INI file. You will also need to take the htm file created by the publishing wizard and make sure it points to your VI and that it is located in a place where it can be accessed from outside the server (read the LV help or search the site for more on this).
Then, you just need to enter the URL for that htm file in the browser on the client (e.g. 192.3.42.5/c/rfp.htm) and it should load.
Try to take over the world!

  • Remote Front Panel Problems and Best Practices

    All,
    Problems
I'm currently attempting to host a Remote Front Panel from a cRIO 9073. The intent of the front panel is to control and configure the services running on the cRIO. Currently I've been experiencing quite a few problems getting this to operate smoothly.
These are the problems I'm currently experiencing.
    * Front panel takes a very long time to load (~45 Seconds).
    * On close the front panel may reset the cRIO.
    * Front panel may cause excessive CPU usage.
    * Plugin has problems in Firefox.
I'm fairly sure that I've installed all of the Latest NI software (I'm using LV 2009f2)
I currently cannot post the code as it's proprietary.
Currently the front panel consists of two timed loops one running at 500ms intervals and the other running at 1000ms intervals. The GUI is basically a tab control and on the heaviest tab contains about 15 buttons.
    Questions
Is it not possible to use event structures in embedded LabVIEW? So far I've had to code my own event loop to handle all the events I wish to process on the remote front panel, and I feel this might be causing a problem.
Is the sort of functionality I'm trying to achieve acceptable in Web Front Panels?
It seems that the reason it takes very long for the VIs to load is that the VI Front Panel Server must fire up. Is there a way to make this or whatever the component is that handles it fire ahead of time?
Thanks for your time, I look forward to discussing this.
    Regards,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,
Is this a remote front panel for a real-time VI?  Is it built into an executable?  If this is a RT VI, you cannot use event structures.  More details are available in this KB:
Can I Use the Event Structure in LabVIEW RT?
I assume you have seen this?
How Can I View Remote LabVIEW Real-Time Front Panels in a Web Browser?
Are you still having the cRio reset issue and CPU usage increase?

  • Remote front panel with labview 8.6 executable

I am trying to create a remote front panel of my application, built in an executable using Labview 8.6. I want to run that application on a target machine (not the one used for developing the project) and view and control the front panel of the VI from a web browser on another computer.
    I have followed these steps:
How can I use remote front panels with Labview Executables?
But when I finally open the web browser and navigate to the URL I obtain that the page cannot be found.
I have my Labview project created and I have built a web page using Web publishing tool. I have saved it in my Labview 8.6/www directory and added it to the project. I have built my executable including HTML file and copied all the obtained folders to the target PC.
Then, I have modified the .ini file like in the step 7, but when I arrive to the step 8 I don't know what to do. Which  niwebserver.conf should I modify? The one localized at Labview 8.6 directory of the target machine? Or the one that is created in the directory where I have copied the executable when I run the executable?
In the DocumentRoot tag  I have to replace the default Labview/www with the location of my HTML file. Should I use quotation marks or no?
Have you got any ideas of what is happening?
    Thanks!

Ok, but when I create the executable, in the folder where the application.exe and .ini are there isn't a file called niwebserver.conf. When I run the application a file with this name appear in the directory (the one I include), but it hasn't the section Directives that apply to the default server as in the manual.
What I have done is to copy the niwebserver.conf file ubicated in the Labview 8.6 of the target machine in the same directory of the executable but it doesn´t work...
