LabView Vi for SpectraPro 2500i

Hello All,
Does anyone by any chance have a spectra Pro 2500i Monochromator? The company supplied a set of sample VIs and thus far I've been able to write a program with the exception of changing the gratings. Does anyone have any experience or has written a VI for this purpose? I tried contacting the manufacture and they have yet to get back to me.

Thanks for that info. Unfortunately, I just looking for someone who wrote something to change the grating.  They supply some library functions written in C and they are called using a .Dll, but when i do call them the grating does not change.

  • Adaptation of LIFA (LabVIEW Interface For Arduino) to other Arduino compatible boards

    Hello evryone,
I am trying to use a ''Sakura board", which is an Arduino compatible board, having similar programming as Arduino. This board is manufactured by Renesas; more specifications on it can be found on the following link: http://sakuraboard.net/gr-sakura_en.html
What I would like to know, is if the firmware used for LIFA to interface Arduino with labview, or the ChipKit firmaware, can be used to this kind of Arduino compatible boards.
My aim, is to use the Sakura Board for acquiring signals from various pins(Be it digital or analog), and setting other pins (Digital) parralelly, using labVIEW, as this is done using LIFA, or LabVIEW interface for ChiKit!!
Thanks in advance for your support.

I haven't had any experience with the Sakura board, so can only go on the information on the website.
I've used the Arduino LabVIEW interface previously, and it basically uses serial communications between the PC and the Arduino. This serial interface is provided by the on-board USB-serial converter (an ATMega8u2 running custom firmware).
From what I can tell about the Sakura, it appears as a storage device when plugging into a PC, and doesn't seem to have a USB to serial converter. If this is the case, then the LIFA toolkit won't work. That said, my understanding of the Sakura board may be incorrect (for example I'm unsure what operation modes the slide switch changes between). If you can confirm it has a USB-serial port then LIFA may work. I guess the key thing is that the serial port is required.
You may be able to use a software serial port (http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/SoftwareSerial) on the Sakura to communicate with a PC, though that would require a PC with a serial port, or an external USB-serial converter. This approach would also require you to modify the LIFA arduino code (located in vi.lib\LabVIEW Interface for Arduino\Firmware\LIFA_Base) to reference the software serial port. It's probably a long shot that this will work, as the software serial library has been written for AVR chips, making use of their specific internal timers.

where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
if there is no driver maybe you can tell me the closest instrument that comes to this one from the list at,

so i could modify and use the driver

    Hello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
    Hope this helps.

  • Labview VIs for HP 35670A

The link to the labview VIs for the HP 35670A is no longer valid and the search for the same returns nothing.  Does anyone have the Labview VIs for that instrument?
The last post was back in 2004(see below)
The instrument driver for the HP 35670A is only
supported under LabVIEW 6 and 7. You should upgrade to the latest
version of LabVIEW in order to use the HP 35670A driver or any of the
newer drivers that we release in the future.
    The instrument
driver for the HP 35670A can be found on our web site at

Why don't you go to the Instrument Driver Network? I don't know what kind of search you did but the driver is certainly still available and can be found by using the search option there.

  • Is there any LabVIEW driver for the Agilent 53147A counter/power meter?

I am trying to find a LabVIEW driver for the Agilent 53147A counter/power meter, but I cannot find it. Is there any?

NI does not have a driver and a quick check with Agilent shows that they don't have a driver either.
You can go to http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/ and request a driver. You will also find links on how to create your own driver. Your other option is to use the Instrument I/O Assistant.
p.s. In the future, you should use the Instrument control board for posting questions. this board is for NI counter/timer products.

  • Labview player for linux?

I have a Labview VI running on my Windows platform. I developed it using the Windows version of Labview 7.1. I used the Web Publishing tool to make the display available online. I have verified that I can see the display running in real time using IE on a Windows machine.
Other machines in our LAN are running Linux, and cannot view the site in real time. For example, Mozilla asks for a plugin, but I can not find Labview Player for Linux anywhere. Can anyone help me get the Linux machines to see the real time site that is being hosted from a Windows machine?
    Thanks

I don't think that there is a plug-in for a linux system to be able to view the published LabVIEW front panel.

  • LabVIEW Toolkit for LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT in Windows Vista

Anybody knows how install LabVIEW Toolkit for LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT with Windows Vista?. Installing it gives me an error that says 'The windows installer is corrupt. To attempt to resolve the issue, please register the engine by running regsvr32.exe on msi.dll'. But it doesn´t work.
    Thanks in advance

The work around for this issue is to install each of the MSI files setup.exe calls when running the installer.  I was able to reproduce this issue for the 1.0 toolkit I was unable to do so for the 2.0 toolkit.  This being said the instructions bellow are for those of you who are running into this issue with the 2.0 toolkit.
Listed bellow are the MSIs  you will need to run (shown here at their default location after the self extracting EXE has been run).  You should run these MSI in the following order.
    C:\National Instruments Downloads\LabVIEW\7.1\LabVIEW NXT Toolkit\2.0\Products\MetaUninstaller\MU\MetaUninstaller.msi
    C:\National Instruments Downloads\LabVIEW\7.1\LabVIEW NXT Toolkit\2.0\Products\MDFSupport\MDF\MDFSupport.msi
    C:\National Instruments Downloads\LabVIEW\7.1\LabVIEW NXT Toolkit\2.0\Products\MDFSupport\MDF\EULADepot.msi
    C:\National Instruments Downloads\LabVIEW\7.1\LabVIEW NXT Toolkit\2.0\Products\LVLEGONXTTK\LVLEGONXTTK\LVLEGONXTTK.msi
    C:\National Instruments Downloads\LabVIEW\7.1\LabVIEW NXT Toolkit\2.0\Products\LVLEGONXTTK_LV71\LVLEGONXTTK_LV71\LVLEGONXTTK_LV71.msi
    C:\National Instruments Downloads\LabVIEW\7.1\LabVIEW NXT Toolkit\2.0\Products\NXT_Driver64\LegoMindstormsNXTdriver64.msi
A similar procedure can be used to install the 1.0 toolkit if need be.  You can get the install order from the parts from the [Parts] section of the setup.ini.

  • Creating a Labview VI for controlling an Atmel at32uc3a1512 device.

I have a custom device that has a USB port and an ethernet port,
This device (and it's USB port) are controlled by an atmel at32uc3a1512.
I have an old version of Labview (V8.2) nd I would like to create a VI to communicate and pass data
back and forth with an Atmel at32uc3a1512 but I am not sure how to create a driver for this with the MAX utility.
The device shows up in my Windows XP control panel as a USBLib device...
Any direction, suggestions,  or links to examples or whitepapers on this is appreciated
    thanks

    Hello Japper,
If you would like to attempt to communicate to the Atmel at32uc3a1512 as a device using USB, then the following tutorial should be useful. This details how to use NI-VISA to communicate with a USB device, however this requires detailed knowledge on how the device sends, receives, and processes data.
    USB Instrument Control Tutorial:
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4478/en
If you are attempting to write LabVIEW code that will be deployed to the Atmel at32uc3a1512 as a target then that is a whole different set of needs. This device is not an officially supported target, and would require a significant amount of modification and tweaking in order to get this to work, if it is possible. The best resource that I can provide for that would be this guide on how to port LabVIEW to ARM devices. I understand that the Amtel at32uc3a1512 is not an ARM device, however this would be the closest guide that we have for porting LabVIEW as a target VI.
LabVIEW Embedded for ARM Porting Guide - Chapter 1: Introduction:
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/6994/en
Let me know which method you are attempting to use the Amtel at32uc3a1512 as; either a target, or a device.

hello sir,i need labview code for a code which is written in matlab...

Well, this code is quite trivial and if you have to learn LabVIEW anyway, you might as well try to implement it.
    A few things to remember:
The first array element in LabVIEW has index #0, while in matlab it has index #1, so everything dealing with array indices needs to be adjusted slightly.
The zeroes function equivalent is "initialize array".
Keep the array in a shift register as you update elements.
    use FOR loops.
Use one of the graphs to display the data.

  • RS232 Labview driver for SR830 lockin Amplifier

    Hi,
I want to install Labview driver for Stanford Research SR830 lockin amplifier for RS232 port. NI has drivers for GPIB but I could not find any for RS 232 comm port.
Please let me know how can I find driver for RS232 port.
    Regards,
    Nitin

    Dear Jason S,
I also want to communicate with sr 830 with the RS232 interface. You said I had to rewrite the whole thing. What does that really mean? Rewrite the driver? If so, what language will it be?
    JasonS' wrote:
    Hello Nitshu-
As you mentioned, this driver only supports GPIB, and not RS-232.  This driver was originally created in 1994, so it was not created using VISA.  This means that to convert this driver you would need to essentially rewrite the entire thing.  There are not currently any plans to update this driver to support RS-232, but you could easily communicate with it by adding a GPIB Interface to your system.
Let us know if you have any specific questions we can help answer.

Unfortunately I was unable to find a driver for this instrument either. This leaves you with one of a couple options. First, I would like you to submit a request for this driver at:
    http://zone.ni.com/idnet/other.htm
We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver (or modify the existing one), we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :

We also have a syndicate of third party vendors that specialize in National Instruments' products and services. Some of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would sugg

can some body help me to develop labview code for generating pulse to drive ac servo motor... i am using NI 9401 card ....tnx

Driving an AC servo motor would (I missed AC on the previous msg) requires some complex hardware. This is generally done by drivers specifically designed for this purpose. I doubt you will be able to accomplish this with the hardware you currently have and it might be cheaper to just buy a driver for it and control the speed through the driver.
