Language for standard messages

Hi All !
I get a lot of error messages in my application, for example:
"Validation Error: Value is required. " or
"Validation Error: Value is less than allowable minimum of '2' "
It's ok, but how can I change language for these messages ?
For example I try this:
facesContext.getApplication().setDefaultLocale(Locale.GERMAN);
but the error messages remained english :(
xesj

Hi All !
I solved this problem, so I write to you how I did that.
First I had to find that file, which contains standard error messages of JSF.
I saw the JSF uses two files: jsf-api.jar & jsf-impl.jar.
I unpacked them, and I saw one of them (jsf-impl.jar) contains properties files,
Messages.properties and this file for other languages.
Of course hungarian version of this file didn't exists :)
I changed some english messages to hungarian messages, and I renamed
file to Messages_hu.properties and saved into my project directory:
.../classes/valami_package/Messages_hu.properties
(Of course my default locale is "hu")
After I edited faces-config.xml, I wrote these lines into:
<application>
<message-bundle>
valami_package.Messages
</message-bundle>
</application>
Finally I recompiled & restarted my JSF-application,
and I saw my hungarian messages ! Victory :)
Bye, xesj

  • Where-used lists for standard messages

    HI ,
I need to find where one particular standard message is used in the standard codes. For this I am going in to Txn SE91 , selecting the message and clicking the where-used list button. This is yielding no result.
Is there anyother way of finding the which codes have used this message.
Can anyone help me with this.
    Thanks in advance
    Debashish

Ya very true. This particular message was called dynamically so it was not showing in the where-used list.
However  I was able to get the code where this code was populated by putting a debugger at a standard macro that was used for populating the SLG1 log file. From there I was able to get the code where this message was called dynamically.
    Thanks to all

    Stephen,
If you want to use the standared ones then when you buy the Seeburger adapters they will provide you. You may need to create your own sda files when you change their standard ones.

  • Translation for Standard BAPI error messages

    Hi All,
We are calling a standard BAPI in our report program. This BAPI has return table of type BAPIRET2.
When i logon in Spanish Language, still the BAPI returns error messages in English.
Any pointers to get the messages from Standard BAPI's in Logon language.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Prashant

    Hi,
Since these messages are Standard SAP  Messages, i assume that SAP would maintain the translations for them.
If i go to message class & check translations for these standard messages, i dont see the translations.
Are we expected to manually maintain translations for Standard SAP Messages ?
I feel SAP would be providing translations for Standard SAP message.
    Best regards,

  • How Display Standard Help for a Message?

I have a program that executes a Call Transaction.  When it returns an error message, I write the message to a report.
I would like to define a hotspot on the report so that the user can click on the message and get the standard long text for the message.  This would be equivalent to the result you get when you click on a message at the bottom of a screen.
Is there a standard function module that would provide this feature?

We would like to develop a interface that would transfer the following data from SAP to another system (called Vista).
"(Past) Receivings and requirements shall be considered in the transportation planning. Transfer the requirement information from the ERP system to Vista for the transportation planning."
Is there any standard message type (or any other std solution) in SAP that can transfer this data from SAP to legacy system(Vista)?
In general how does one identify for any given requirement, if there exists a standard message type (standard solution) of transffering data from or to an SAP system

  • Language change for standard text

How to change the language of standard text.
    ex; from 'EN' to 'CS'

    Hi,
Refer note 3355 in OSS for a complete explanation. The SAPscript objects that should be transported must be written in a
         transport request.
         The entries are as follows:
R3TR FORM NAME (NAME = Name of the layout set)
R3TR STYL NAME (NAME = Name of the style)
         R3TR TEXT OBJECT,NAME,ID,L
(OBJECT = Text object, NAME = Text name, ID = Text ID, L = Text language)
If you want to transport a number of texts, you can use report RSTXTRAN to insert the individual text keys into a
         correction.
The transport request must be entered and released via the transport system.

  • German as standard-language for spell check

How to set german as standard-language for spell check in safari?

I use Windows, and it is exactly as you said, Sir Hup.
I made the change, in the drop-down list in the dialog box, in my case from 'English' (which I have to assume is US English) to 'Australian English'.
The problem I am encountering is that making that change doesn't stick for the browser as a whole, but only for the input box on the tab, the dialog box was opened on.
How do I get the change to apply for spell checking in the browser as a whole?

  • In iOS8, my third party keyboards are working with every app except for the standard "Messages" app.  How do I fix this issue?

I recently updated to iOS8 and downloaded a few third party keyboards.  These keyboards are usable and available with all apps except for the "Messages" app.  The third party keyboards don't even show up as an option while typing a text message or an iMessage.  I have allowed these keyboards Full Access and have turn off Guided Access.

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

  • In which table cound i find the info on EDI standard Message type??

    Example
EDI standard Message type Business process
    EDIFACT ORDERS Purchase order
                   INVOIC Invoice
    ANSI X12  850 Purchase order
                    810 Invoice
Like those 850..810..etc info, i dont know from which table could i find the related info?
    Thanks.

    Hi Hoo,
Electronic Data Interchange (or EDI) refers to the use of computers in formatting and exchanging business information using internationally recognized standards and formats. Standards organizations throughout the world have defined hundreds of document types to create a universal language for companies to conduct business while using dissimilar systems and processes. Common business documents, such as the invoice, purchase order, production planning schedule, ship manifest, and customs declaration, have been standardized and are sent and received electronically over private secure networks (Value-Added Networks - VANs) and the Internet.
So EDI is not an SAP product, It is a method to exchange the data over internet.
You dont get any information in any table in SAP. SAP supports EDI to exchange the data over internet. There are no. of third party EDI tools to connect to SAP.
following is link to know more about EDI message types.

I even tried setting in when-new-form-instance ":SYSTEM.MESSAGE_LEVEL := 0" but that too didn't work out.

  • Unable to change language for SAP BW Report Iview

    Dear all
We are currently rolling out BW Web Templates can be displayed in both EN and MS languages. The language can be changed via the URL that we display, e.g.
    For English Language:
    http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=EN&cmd=ldoc&template_id=ZTEST
    For Malay Language :
    http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=7&cmd=ldoc&template_id=ZTEST
We have published these templates into Ent. Portal 6 using SAP BW Report Iview, but unfortunately we cannot view the report in the Malay language (SAP-LANGUAGE=7), even though we have inserted the command SAP-LANGUAGE=7 in the SAP BW Report Iview query string. All the reports, although defaulted to SAP-LANGUAGE=7 displays in English. We also tried to set the language settings for the Iview, but there are no language 7 or MS in the Iview. It can only be defaulted to the Portal’s language, which is English.
Note that the reports can be viewed in the different languages if we using the URL separately outside of Portal, and also within BW Bex Analyzer itself. Only the Portal doesn’t allow us to view the reports in MS language.
Can someone help us on this matter? All helps really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    Hi Chris,
That's a bit odd indeed. If I understand your question correctly, you do get the BW reports in the correct language (either English or Malay) using the url's in your post but not when using them within a standard BW report iView?
The language setting for the iView has, unfortunately, nothing to do with the language for the content itself but can you tell me what the requested URL is for both Reports?
The BW Report iView is based on the Application Integration Component that generates the URL based on the paramaters you provide in the BW report iView. The following template is being used: <iView[PORTAl_URL]>?System=<System[url_Encode]>&Report=<Report>&DynamicParameter=<DynamicParameter[url_Encode]>. I could be that the generation of the URL fails due to the 7 (don't know why, just a gut feeling because it's the only thing that's different between those urls). You could try to use create an iView based on the Application Integrator instead (some more control over the URL template) but first you need to check whether the URL generated by the iView is correct.
    Cheers!
