Laptop to tv connection

HELP! What do I need to connect my laptop to my tv in order to watch movies and stream videos on my tv? It's Christmas present and I need help asap please.

Depends on how old your laptop is, and how old your TV is.
If they're both newer, all you need is an HDMI cable.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. Note that you can only sync with one iTunes library/computer but you can "sync" music and videos from more than one iTunes library/computer.

HP laptop can't connect to AirPort Extreme

My dad has an HP laptop with an 802.11G wifi card. When I enabled AirPort Disk and restarted the router, the laptop came up with a "Limited or no connectivity" error. I tried resetting the network, unplugging the router, and even extending it with an AirPort Express I own. The range without the Express is good, but the laptop can't connect. And I checked the logs and from what I can tell, the issue is on the laptop's end. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check the encryption protocol of your network as well as the Radio mode (n with b/g compatibility). You need to select one of the protocols which is available on your laptop (e.g. WEP). I can't recall exactly, but I don't believe SP1 has WPA. WEP isn't as secure, though.

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5209 might help you. An iPhone 4 can airplay content from apps that support airplay and iTunes but it cannot mirror. If your game does not have airplay in the app you cannot mirror it to the apple TV so I don't know if you can play just the music. You should have no problem playing your iTunes over airplay though.

Wrt54g laptop wireless modem connected to router but will not access in any browsers.

I started a friends laptop at my house put in the security key and it connected to my network with excellent strength. When I opened IE or Safari it said unable to access page not connected to the internet.
I went into the properties of the wireless modem and checked to see if it matched my wireless laptop. It was slightly different with not all the same options. I changed something and now I can not get it to connect at all.
I hooked the friends laptop to my lan line and it works perfectly of course, so I know it has to be in the settings.
Any answers to the first problem of browsers not connecting, And anyway you can help me get the friends laptop settings back to where they were?

Connect a computer to the Router, Open the Setuppage by 192.168.1.1 , password "admin"
Click on the Wireless tab on the Setup page- Here Wireless Network mode
should be mixed- Provide any non linksys network name ....
Name (SSID) box- Set wireless channel to 11- And wireless SSID
broadcast should be Enabled and then click on "Save Settings" >>
Now Click on the Sub tab under wireless > "Wireless Security" Change the
Wireless security mode to "WEP"...and put a 10 digit key in key1 and keep a note of the key and click save settings ...
Then on your laptop try to connect to the netwok with the key.

Dun tink that creative customer support sucks cos I had been dealing with them in the past and I can say that their service are quite gd and fast. If you wanted a refund, I tink you need to contact the store that sells you the product. Dun tink creative will refund you though.

Windows laptops can't connect to Macbook Pro shared internet when WEP security is on

As the title states, my Windows laptops can't connect to Macbook Pro shared internet when WEP security is on. My iPhone has no problem asking for the password when I try to access the shared internet my MacBook Pro on Mountain Lion is sending, but my Samsung Slate on Windows 8 sees the network and only succeeds in connecting when no password is required. When security is on, it just tries for a moment and says it can't connect to the network without ever prompting me for the password. The same thing occurs on my Asus Netbook running Windows XP. Since all the reviews about OS X's internet sharing mentions "any wifi device" can access it, I haven't assumed it's only compatible with Apple products. I want my MacBook Pro to save me from needing an external router.

I would post a new question, outline the specific problem you are having and skip all the extra. Outline any steps you have taken already to try and solve the problem. Post the question in the forum most likely to have followers who can answer your question. Give your topic a good title such as: My MacBook Pro cannot connect to my WEP-enabled PC.
Provide any hardware information that may be relevant such as the make and model of your router and method of connection - wired or wireless.
I'm no authority, but have you tried using WPA2/Personal on your PCs? This method is most compatible with Macs.
If the WEP password is a hexadecimal password then on the Mac you need to preceed the number with a $ sign or the hex digits, 0x.

Laptop unable to connect to the Internet

My 2 year old Dell Laptop will not connect to my BT Infinity HomeHub. Tried the BT helpdesk and they said I need to update the Drivers in the Laptop. Has anyone else had this problem. My iMac desktop connects perfectly to the Homehub so no issue with the Homehub itself.

Its a very common problem. The home hub 3 by default, uses a more secure connection method. Some older wireless cards need updating.
You can change the HH3 encrypion if you want.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).

You can try this:
1) restart your computer
2) once restarted, do not run anything else, except for launching iTunes manually
3) connect your devices to your computer

Any HP laptops available to connect to HP xb4 expansion dock ?

My HP laptop, Pavilion dv7-3060us, appears to have given up the ghost. I looked at HP replacements, but have used the HP docking stations for years and new models don't have the expansion connector to connect to the HP xb4 dock that I have. Does anyone know what the last HP lptop model was that included the expansion port connection that connects to the HP xb4 dock? If not, can anyone let me know whether there's a workaround that will allow me to continue using my HP xb4 expansion dock?

Thanks, BH, but the problem that I have is that new models of HP laptops no longer have the docking station cable connector port that is shown in the documentation that you provided. Without this type 3 port on the laptop, I don't believe that it can be properly connected to the docking stationand my post went to that dilemma. My only hope to continue using the docking station appears to be getting the last model HP laptop that has the expansion connector (referred to as a type 3 connector, I believe, in the dock documentation). Thus, my question as to anyone's knowledge of what HP laptop was the last of the generation that had this connector. Although the docking station documentation indicates that a secondary laptop can be connected to the dock by USB connector to make use of the peripherals attached to the dock, it is not at all clear whether the primary laptop can be connected in this fashion. It would appear unlikely that this is possible, since there would be no connection through the dock connection cable to the laptop, since there is no connector on newer model laptops. HP no longer markets the docking station, which may explain why newer laptops have no docking station cable connector port built-in to the case.

Laptop ONLY loses connection 9:00 p.m. every night

We started out with one desk top computer connecting through Comcast. We bought a second computer moved the first to the up stairs so we bought the WRT54G Ver. 6 wireless router. Both computers worked fine. My husband recently purchased a laptop which is connecting through the router. (VIsta) Now for some reason EVERY night at 9:00 p.m. on the dot neither the lap top or the upstairs computer will connect to the internet. The downstairs desktop connected directly to Comcast will connect. There are no issues with the direct connect to Comcast at 9:00. The inability to not connect last for a couple hours but it is every night at 9:00. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you go into the settings on the WRT54G it gives you the option of when to allow use of the wireless, you may go and check if it is setup to block access at that time. You can access the settings by typing 192.168.1.1 or whatever your ip address could be into your browser.
