Last Name within the Contact Parent actually reads "Task Name" when editing it

I created a new contact type named New Hire for a workflow I am working on. The contact type was from existing group Core Contact and Calendar Columns. I noticed "Last Name" source is "Item" when all the other contact
fields are "Contact". Then when I open it to change it from Optional to Required, the field actually shows "Task Name" for the Column Name. This is not right. Please let me know how to fix...
How I got there…
- Site Settings
- Site Content Types
- Created a new Contact Type named New Hire
- Last Name is Item and not part of the type “Contact” like the others
- And when I open up Last Name and Edit it, I see “Task Name"
How can I fix this?

Hi,
Content types are organized into a hierarchy that allows one content type to inherit its characteristics from another content type. All SharePoint OOTB content type  inherits System content type. For detail, you can see that Item content type inherits
System content type, Folder content type inherits Item content type, Document content type inherits Item content type and so on.

As Contact content type inherits Item content type, Contact  content type inherit the Title column of Item content type. So Last Name is tied to Title.
For your issue, Last Name should be the Title. Also you can create a separate Title field.

  • IOS changes contact from sorted by company to first name when edit is hit

    Can anyone tell me how to stop iOS from changing to sort by name when edit is hit?
    Scenario:  Contact has first name, last name and company.  In OSX I hit edit and check the company box.  The contact now sorts by company name.  I then go into iOS to that same contact and hit edit and then done.  The contact now sorts by name and there is no way to undo this that I can find in iOS.  There is no company check box and iOS defaults to sort by name automatically.  Which means that any information I edit on my iphone or ipad will get miscatagorized by simply tapping the edit key.
    Help!!!

    I would ask, why are you going into the same contact in iOS if you have already edited it in OS X? But then, I digress.
    True, there is only two settings for sorting contacts in iOS, Last Name or First name. The same as display. When you have a name and Company, it will only sort by name.
    You can provide feedback to Apple if you would like to see this feature change by going to www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

    how do Iget the contact photo to full screen size when receiving a call after iOs 7.1 update..?

    I went to the link. I selected iPHONE.  There was a big iPhone icon above the comment box -- so I was absolutely, positively on the right page.  I spent five minutes or so crafting a constructive comment as to why I wanted the full photo feature back on incoming calls on iOS7.  Then...i noticed the box below the comment area asked 'What operating system are you on?'.  And the drop down selection list included every operating system since Job's garage days -- but not one single iOS entry.  No iOS entries on an iphone page.  Unless I'm missing something, I think anyone writing a feedback comment is wasting his/her time.

  • 5310 Managing groups within the contact list

    I have created several groups. I would like to have a one button option to see a list of the groups without the contacts included. I would like it to be similar a folder tree structure. One would not want to see the folders and files within a folders at the same time. As of now I see the groups mixed in with the contacts.
    Is there a one button way to only see a list of your groups with the contacts pruned out on the 5310?
    Thanks!

  • How do I sort by employee last name when grouped by employee id?

    Hi,
    The first Group is: Employee ID.
    The second Group is: Employee Last Name.
    I wish to sort the entire report by Employee Last Name; however, standard crystal reports sorting functionality doesn't present me with this ability. As a result, the report is sorted by Employee ID.
    Can someone help me how to sort by Employee Last Name in this scenario?
    thx,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    When you create a Group in the report, Crystal reports automatically adds the grouped fields in the Sort list which unfortunately cannot be removed! You cannot change the priority of the sort fields too, and the only way of achieving this is by actually changing the group order. But it wouldn't help the purpose.
    As a workaround, here's what you can do though:
    1) Create a command object and provide a pre-sorted result set to Crystal Reports. In this situation you would probably create a command object like :
    select Emp_ID, Last_Name from Emp order by Last_Name asc
    2) Create the 2 groups in the report again. Open the 'Group Expert', click on the first group and then click 'Options'
    3) The Sort order for this group would be 'in ascending order' by default. Change it to 'in original order'
    4) Repeat the above step for the next group
    This is the only way I know of sorting a report on another field.
    Let me know how this goes!

  • Duplicate last names when both names in first name field. Keeps repeating.

    When I send e-mails/ reply/ forward to people in my addressbook who have both names in the first name field, the name after the space repeats itself in the last name field. Example: John Doe becomes John Doe Doe after an e-mail.
    Mail is altering this. I've experimented enough to realise that it has nothing to do with syncs or any other program.
    I've seen people have solved this by corretly placing first name and last name in their correct fields. This is NOT an option for me due to the way my Treo works which does not give me the option to organize names by first name. This besides the fact that I have over 500 entries in this manner.
    Irrelevant of this detail, Mail should not be altering address book information this way. There are cases in my country where a person has two first names separated by a space, if I know them in an informal manner I have no interest in having their last name or having AB repeat their second first anme then making me search my treo by last name.
    I'm going to keep bumping this topic until I find some sort of solution or am given one.

    Just ended up taking the time to correct first and last names in their correct fields... screws the view up on my palm, but at least the problem is solved.

  • Why is the FK parent table read

    0
    SQL Server 2012 Enterprise. I have two tables with a FK relationship. The referencing column in the child table is NOT NULL. The FK is trusted. I create a view that joins the two tables with an INNER JOIN on the foreign key column and no filter. When I SELECT
    COUNT(*) from the view, it returns the count of rows in the child table (as expected), but looking at actual execution plan, it reads the parent table to do so. I see no reason to read from the parent table. The trusted FK on a NOT NULL column in the
    child table means that for every row in the child table there HAS to be a corresponding row in the parent table, so reading the parent table should be unnecessary. If I change the view's join to an OUTER JOIN, the parent table is not read with a SELECT COUNT(*)
    from the view. Is this a shortcoming in the optimizer (not really a bug), or am I missing something? Here's an example:
    USE tempdb;
    GO
    IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.vChild') IS NOT NULL DROP VIEW dbo.vChild;
    IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.Child') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE dbo.Child;
    IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.Parent') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE dbo.Parent;
    CREATE TABLE dbo.Parent (PKey int NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
     SomeCol varchar(10) NOT NULL);
    GO
    CREATE TABLE dbo.Child (PKey int NOT NULL,
     SeqNum int NOT NULL,
     CONSTRAINT ChildPK PRIMARY KEY (PKey, SeqNum));
    ALTER TABLE dbo.Child WITH CHECK ADD CONSTRAINT FK_Parent_Child FOREIGN KEY(PKey)
     REFERENCES dbo.Parent (PKey);
    GO
    select is_not_trusted, * from sys.foreign_keys
     WHERE [name] = 'FK_Parent_Child';
    GO
    CREATE VIEW dbo.vChild AS
    SELECT C.PKey, C.SeqNum, P.SomeCol
     FROM dbo.Child AS C
     JOIN dbo.Parent AS P
      ON C.PKey = P.PKey
    GO
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM dbo.vChild;

  • I deleted a contact, but the contact will not go away. When I go to my messages and type the name in it still comes up I deleted all messages, emails, and contacts associated with this person. Why won't it go away for good?

    Deleted Contact won't go away

    Yes it does. It is still in the app's cache (recently used) and will go away on its own over time. If insist on removing it, tap the icon on its right, then Remove from Recents.

  • Why with the last update does the stupid GAMES CENTER always pop up when I want to open a locally stored game?  It is really annoying. I click on 'disable' and it just 'disables' it for that session only.

    Why is the stupid GAME CENTER a popup every single time I try to access a locally stored (and paid for) game application?  It is really annoying! I click on 'disable' and it only disables it for that session. When I come back a while later, the stupid GAME CENTER pops up again....
    this just started with the upgrade to iOS6...

    I share your frustration. Maybe there are more people that really hate what game center has become. Here's my problem: Ok, so when I open the Game Center app it asks me for my password to log in. But when (while "signed out" of Game Center) I open an app (game app) it automatically signs me in without me even putting in a password. So, if I go directly to the Game Center app, I have to use my password to sign in. If I open a game app, I don't need to use my password...I'm signed in without any verification. I now can close the game app, open the Game Center app and BAM!!! I'm signed in, password free. I have searched for a solution to this nonsense of two days. I have tried changing my Game Center ID four times and every time it says, "Welcome back '&&@&!'!" Apple has every freaking app of theirs listed in the support communities but the Game Center app. Why? I am an adult that likes to relax and spend 30 minutes or so playing a game. I could give two flying $&@&s what I the other guy or a 4 year old did yesterday. I want a solution to delete completely or disable this tracking crapware. And the whole signing me in without me giving a password smells really fishy. I bet we will see a lawsuit really soon even if this is fixed. Definitely a security issue at the minimum.

  • IPhoto 5.0.4 Freezes/Loses Entered Names when Editing Pix

    This bug has been annoying the heck out of me lately. After I take a bunch of pictures (100-300), I begin the arduous task of organizing, fine-tuning, naming and cropping them in iPhoto. Many times in the past month, iPhoto locks up and loses all the information I typed and forgets which photos I deleted since I last started it up. This is becoming quite annoying, and I have started to enter in the names of 20-40 photos at a time, then quitting and reopening iPhoto (but that's not an optimal solution).
    A few notes:
    I have rebuilt all the databases in iPhoto (startup and hold down the 'Option+Command' keys)
    I have almost 8,000 photos in my library
    The only add-on I'm using is Keyword Assistant (the latest version, which should be compatible with iPhoto 5.0.4)—I really hope this program is not the cause of my woes, because I absolutely hate having to go to my mouse to assign keywords to photos!
    My next troubleshooting step is to remove Keyword Assistant, but I am wondering if anyone knows of any other solutions to this problem or if anyone else is even having this problem. It seems only to happen after I've entered in a name for a picture and clicked the next button (or pressed 'Command+right arrow') while in the 'Edit' mode.

    Hi Jeff:
    Haven't seen this particular problem come up before. Is the crashing occurring during the cropping and editing or while you're changing names?
    What comes to mind first is to repair disk permissions with Disk Utility and then manually set the permissions on the iPhoto Library folder:
    Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
    1 - Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
    2 - When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
    3 - Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.
    Also make sure you have plenty of free space on your HD.
    There is a new version of Keyword Assistant out that fixed the earlier incompatibility with iPhoto 5. Be sure you have the latest version.

  • Adobe Reader XI freezes when editing

    I'm using Adobe Reader XI on Windows 8.1.  I read PDF's for school on my computer and add comments, underlines, highlights, etc. Using the comments, annotations and drawing markup features constantly.  Recently almost every time I make a single addition to a PDF, Acrobat freezes and switches to "not responding," forcing me to close the program and restart (almost always with it recovering any additions).  This will happen sometimes two or three times in a row to make one underline in the program.  Is there a fix for this glitch?

    I am having this same problem but I am running windows 7, try as I may I cant find an answer or solution

  • 2.0 firmware causes some contacts with same last name to not be displayed

    After upgrading to 2.0 it appears that only the first contact for a given last name is shown in contacts. Interestingly, if i search for that last name all of the contacts show up, so they are indeed syncing to the phone but are not able to be viewed in the regular contact list. I tried restoring the phone (imported settings from last sync after restore) and still have the same problem. Anyone else see the same thing?

    I'm not aware of anyone called just "John"! Everybody I know has at least a first name and a last name... therefore that is the data I enter into Address Book and iSync works fine for me and all my Sony Ericsson phones.
    If you don't provide the required data, you can't really expect iSync to work correctly.
    There is a reason for this... its because most phones don't split First and Last Name into two fields like Address Book does. So, if you have a contact named just "John" with no last name, when you sync, how does iSync know whether "John" is a First or Last name?
    To get around this iSync adds a '-' into the blank field, so that when syncing back it knows where to put the data.
    The solution is extremely simple, just provide Address Book with a first and last name (which AFAIK everyone has).
