ı have mac book air, ı downloaded latest java update from oracle , succesfully installed , but ı cant play at yahoo games using java...it says installation is from not proper site ....how can ı solve this problem , pls someone help me ı need urgent help....

Open up Java preferences located in your Application>Utilities folder. Make sure it's enabled. Mac automatically disables it if not used within a certain amount of time.

Java update crashes Safari and Mail

When upgrading to the latest version of Java, I got a message at the end of the cycle saying that the "source media" was corrupt (or a similar word). I now find that both Safari and Mail crash immediately upon trying to open a URL or a mail message.
Do I uninstall Java? If so, is there guidance on the process? Where might I get the latest safe version of Java? Is Java the source of the Mail problem as well?
(Needless to say, it pays to fear updates.)

I have a similar problem after the Java 6 update failed to install through software updater.
I get a crash when trying to load Safari and a few other programs.
I tried downloading the Java update separately and installing it, but I get the same error "Source file is corrupt". I've tried repairing permissions and a disc repair, but despite these working OK I'm still encountering the same problem.
I'm now thinking of rolling back in Time Machine, but fear that this will happen again when next updating.
I can attach an error report if necessary.

Fake Java Update Crashes Illustrator in CS6

Normally a very cautious fellow, but albeit in a rush to finish a deadline yesterday, I opened my Adobe Illustrator app and a pop-up appeared that looked like a genuine notice from Java to update my software. Erroneously thinking it was something the app needed (because I recently updated to Maverick on my Mac) I clicked to get it out of the way. Illustrator crashed almost immediately. I spent hours trying to fix it. Even re-installing Illustrator did not help. Finally, I checked my Illustrator plug-ins folder and sure enough—there was an innocent looking plug-in called "SubScribe.aip." I trashed it and Illustrator started right up. Be aware my fellow graphic designers—this new fake Java update is a nasty one.

If you truly feel there was a "fake Java update", that installed a non compatible plugin for the sole purpose to get your Illustrator to crash, then perhaps you need to write/contact both Oracle concerning a possible "fake Java update" and Astute Graphics to let them know they were associated with said "fake Java update" and one of their plugins was bundled inside to mysteriously cause havoc upon Illustrator users.
When you do please refer to this thread in your correspondence with them and let us know what the results and outcome are from both Oracle and Astute Graphics.

I would consider upgrading to Java 7 if I were you. Any software that still needs Java 1.4 is a security risk.

Java Update Oct 2012 Yahoo games issue

I just updated Java on this MacBook Air and no longer can play online Yahoo Bridge. I can sign in to yahoo games, I can get to the bridge lounge. But if I am invited, the message is "error logging into server" and all the lounge tables listed disappear. Same if I try to "Watch" another table or "Create" a table. My partner can see me, but ne'er the twain can meet. Please help if you can..

The last three Java updates installed Jave Console extensions that won't uninstall using the supplied "removing addons" document. Java offers no help. How can I remove them?

In firefox 3.6.13 32 bit on Windows 7 64 bit with WOW subsystem, under Tools > Addons > extensions I see four Java console entries listed. They are: Java Console 6.0.20, 6.0.21, 6.0.22 & 6.0.23. 6.0.23 is active. The other 3 are disabled with the Uninstall button disabled. There are no extension folders in the default profile (only profile listed). There are not programs listed in the Windows Control Panel Remove programs pane.

Since I am unfamiliar with registry editing procedures, I used the manual removal process of deleting appropriate sub-folders from c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\extensions. After stopping Firefox and restarting it, only the desired (Java Console 6.0.23) extension appeared in Tools > Add-ons > extensions. Problem solved! My thanks to both cor-el and The-edmeister for their helpful responses!

Latest software update crash 8/8/2011

just loaded the latest s/w update on my macbook pro, and now the thing won't boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyone else having this problem, or am I just sitting on my hands until the apple folks get out of bed!?!?!?

i get one "progress" bar that goes about 5% of the way. then that goes away and i get another progress bar that gets to about 10%.
i get the boot "sound" and the little black and white "twirly" thing just before those progress bars show up.
that whole thing lasts about 20-30 seconds and then she goes black.
tried holding shift for a safe boot.
tried holding cm-opt-p-r
neither worked.

Latest microsoft updates crash audition 6

Hi All--
after installing the latetst round of Microsoft updates on 10-10-2013, Audition 6 has issues. The program will open and everything seems fine until you attempt to record. There is no movement on the record screen and no input volume is shown, but the bottom left corner message shows "recording". Also, if you select a file to play, it will load and display the waveform, but when you click on play, nothing happens. I did a system restore to a point before the updates were installed and everything works fine. Before doing each of the Microsoft updates one at a time to find the culprit, has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm running Windows 7. THANKS!!!!

I downloaded and installed the latest Windows 7 updates a few minutes before seeing this thread so I thought I'd try a recording just using the built in Realtek sound card (for real recording I use an external device with its own drivers).
I also had problems but not the same as described above. In my case, I got the usual error message about sample rates for record and playback not matching so recording was not possible.
When I checked the Windows Audio Controls I found that the record sample rate was indeed 11.025kHz while playback was at 48kHz. I don't often (well, almost never) use the Realtek for recording so doubt I set it this way--but can't remember the last time I played with these settings so can't be sure.
However, resetting them both to match at 44.1 (and clicking Apply) didn't clear the fault. I finally got recording happening by closing Audition, going to the Windows audio control, changing both settings, exiting audio control, going back and finally re-selecting 44.1/16 bit and Apply. I then re-opened Audition CC and the recording was fine.
So...to sum up my rambling post, it DOES appear that there's circumstantial evidence the Windows update has messed with audio settings and that users may need to do some tweaking to get things going.
Edited to Add: I've just noticed the Audition icon now has the blue and yellow Windows "Shield" warning on it both on my desktop and on the bar at the bottom of the screen when running. I've never seen this before.

Latest Numbers update crashing

Just downloaded version 1.7.2 for ipad and now Numbers is crashing constantly anyone else having this problem?

This happened to me once with a different app. I completely shut down the iPad and when I restarted, it was fine. To completely shut down, hold on/off button until the slider shows. Slide the slider. Let it shut down. Restart by pressing the on/off button. Hopefully this helps.

Anyone know how to uninstall the latest update so Java can work again?

After Java update to SE6 1.6.0_29 ,getting applet crash

I have a MacBook Pro with 10.7.2 and installed Java update to 1.6.0_29 now my sample 64 bit browser application are showing crash report alert every time of launch. Here's the crash showing Java NAIP2 webpluginhost crash. Any help would better? In Safari it is working fine.
My Sample browser application is using webkit framework. It is a 64 bit application.I have tried to lauch a webvpn SSL url in the my browser application.This URL is related with Juniper Network connect. It will download and launch the Juniper Network connect app(VPN Client),by using that we can connect to corporate network.
Every thing is working as expected ,, but intermittently i am getting java applet crash (Java NAIP2 webpluginhost crash) report from my appliaction.Ii is look like my juniper url is using that Java applet,that is crashing every time. i dont want that crash report error message ,, how can i avoid or block that crash .. Any help?

Problem running Java applets since Java update 2 (1.6.0_20)

Since I upgraded to Java update 2, Java applets started having problems. The most noticeable ones are:
Non-modal windows appear behing the browser Window (tested Safari 4, 5, Chrome 5).
Double buffering not working as usual (slower, white boxes appear when dragging a window, etc.)
Slower rendering in general
The same applications run perfectly using Java Web Start. And they used to work very well also in Java update 1.

Our applications running in applets use the new plug-in 2 with JNLP files.

Since the last Java update on mac, all my OpenGL applets stop working and now just shows a white screen on Chrome, Firefox and Opera. They was working well on all browsers (Safari/WebKit,Chrome,Firefox,Opera) just before the update.
The trouble maker seem to be the java plugin 2 and the new offscreen rendering pipeline, as reported by jrhaddad with the disucssion linked to the different Java/OpenGL community forums.
This is a huge regression for me, and I think for all hobbies/ independent developers and all companies who are doing some Java/OpenGL develoment. All our work just stop working since this update.
If would really want to know from Apple if they are working on this problem and/or how this can be solved.
Should this be fixed by Apple with a new java update, or should the various browsers must upgrade their applet support plugins according to the new java plugin 2 changes ?
