I have cleared all history, restarted, refreshed etc. Release 3.6.13 works without issue as do all previous versions.
Any hints?
TIA,

Mozilla are aware of the issue involving Java applets not working in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release. They are currently creating Firefox 3.6.15 which should fix this and will then be testing it to ensure the fix is working.

  • Latest Leopard update (2012-004) reliably breaks drive (mini 1,1)

Title says it all.  I've got an older mac mini 1,1 (core duo, circa 2006) running 10.6 and the latest update 2012-004 trashes the HD's node structure to the point repair isn't possible.  And I've been able to reproduce it 3 times now.  DU when booted from the Leopard disk is unable to repair or even format the drive (OCZ SSD).  I am able to format, but not repair from a MBP.  The errors I am seeing are 'Invalid Node Structure' and at least once an 'Invalid B- tree node size' error.
Once I get the SSD formatted and verified, I've been using SuperDuper to copy back from the older HD.  One thing I haven't done is a complete reinstall.  I'll hold off and see if I get any ideas as to what's causing this or a possible fix.  The SSD is only a few months old, but an older EOL'd model (Vertex Plus 3.0Gbps) and the firmware is current.  Thanks for any help!

Solved by workaround!  One error, I mistakenenly said it's running Leopard, it's Snow Leopard.  I received a note from OCZ stating the issue is caused by an unacknolwedged Apple bug in the update (2012-004) that effects some SSD's from a handful of manufacturers.  If true, it's a mystery why I can't find anything about it online since SL still has a solid user base.
Workaroud was to install the update on a spinning drive and then clone the drive back to the SSD.  Working great now!

  • Latest FireFox update (v15.0.1) breaks sorting on Google Sites

When using Google Sites feature in Google Apps, the sort feature in the list template page does not work. If you try to sort a list, you get a "server error" message which displays at the top of the page.
This problem is new to v15.0.1 of FireFox. Older versions of FireFox, Internet Explorer 8, and Chrome do not currently have this problem.

I have setup a temporary Google Apps test site where you can see this error for yourself:

  • The latest Java update breaks some vital applications

The latest Java update breaks some vital applications. I have reverted back to 7u45. But now, every time a java applet is used, the "later", "block", "update" window appears and stops the applet from loading. I must have this older release. Oracle does not throughly test their updates. Note: the apps the update breaks are actually Oracle apps.
I have checked the "do not ask again until next relesse" box every single time. Worthless.
Is there a way to stop Java version checks? I even have the box deselected for check for updates; ignored by OS X. I WANT CONTROL! Stop checking!
    Ideas?

We are facing the same issue. We suggested all out customers not to install the updates Java 7u65 or 8u11 until there is a workaround or fix.
The wrong look & feel is causing the following problems:
    - Either icons or text can be display on a button. Currently the majority of buttons are displaying an icon. Therefore the workaround is to set the text at least.
    - Scroll-bars are displayed within all cells of a table column. The circumstances are not clear when these scroll-bars are displayed.

  • Latest Feb 19, 2013 Java update for 10.6 breaks Safari 5.1.7

Hi people, long time viewer first time poster here. I wasn't sure on how to contact apple in regards to their latest Java update on the 19th February 2013, so I thought I post it here and see if others have the same problem.
    So, I'm running the following:
    Java SE 6 (Java 1.6.0_41-b02-445)
    Safari 5.1.7
    Mac OSX 10.6.8
When I try to load http://www.uk.msn.com (which is also my homepage) my browser freezes and I can't load any other page. This results in me have to quit Safari and sometimes force quit.
I know it is the recent Java update because when I disable Javascript the website works fine and I can interact with it. As soon as I turn Javascript back on, the issue occurs again. Obviously turning Javascript off is a work around for now, but I require it for work etc.
I have done a permissions repair which doesn't fix anything.
Could others try the link and let me know what happens please? All OSX versions are welcome to see whether it is just the 10.6.8 OSX or spans to 10.7 and later.
Also, does anybody know where I can report this issue to Apple, or do I just ring them up and tell them?
    Many thanks.

I also have 10.6.8, Safari 5.1.7, and the most recent Java update. I can access the MSN site through the link you provided but, on returning to Apple Discussions, got a 60-second stall before Safari would work right again. Yes, it very well could be the site.
The only Safari 5.x crashes I've had came after a Java update 12-18 months ago. I had repaired permission both before and after the update but the crash log showed a number of dlink files with question marks instead of version numbers. Another repair permission restored function and I've had no further crashes. So I always repair permissions before any subsequent Java update that's offered and twice after. For what ever reason, it seems to keep me going.

  • Mac 10.8.x Latest Java Update Breaks SVG

On the latest Mac version, our Desktop application that utilizes vector graphics is suddenly broken. The SVG images are no longer appearing/displaying on the screen like normal. This is only with Mac 10.8.x and the latest release of Java. Any suggestions on what could cause this, how to go about troubleshooting this, or where else to post this question is much appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Latest Java Update Loses JarBundler, Breaks Some Bundled Java Apps

    Hi all,
I installed the latest Java update this morning. After installation, the "Jar Bundler" program was gone, and I had to re-install Xcode to get it back.
Also, one of my bundled java apps now no longer works. I can launch the same code from the command line using "java -jar <my jar file name>", but launching the same bundled jar file gives the following console error:

I have discovered my problem and solution.
The JavaApplicationStub file in the app bundle was configured to run x86_64 which the library does not support. This is apparently new to the latest release of Java.
In order to solve the problem, use the lipo tool. Here is what I did:
lipo -remove x86_64 JavaApplicationStub -output JavaApplicationStub
In addition it is also recommended that the LSArchitecturePriority key be added to the info.plist. I added the following to the main properties:
    <key>LSArchitecturePriority</key>
    <array>
    <string>i386</string>
    <string>ppc</string>
    </array>
This specifies the allowed architectures in their preferred order.

    Welcome to the Discussions,
Only one idea, go to Nortons Site and download the UnInstaller,
Norton has shown itself to be Unhappy Camper with anything MAC.

  • Hi, i'm having trouble with syncing my iPod. (after the latest iTunes-update)

It's a classic, but I have no idea what generation... but it was bought in early 08, and have 80gb. Anyway, it has been working fine all the time, but by the latest iTunes-update, it has stopped working. (mac) Every time I try to connect it with my computer, iTunes says that "this iPod appears to be destroyed, try to restore" (I'm having iTunes in Norwegian, so not sure if this is the direct translation, but hopefully you'll get the picture) - and I try to do this, again and again, but nothing seems to work. I have tried to turn off the computer, put iPod in disc-mode, let the battery run out, give it a two-week break, and now I'm out of guesses on what to do. But no matter what I do it allways appear to have zero songs on it after I am done syncing, and I allways get the "try to restore"-message when i connect it again.
It's possible that it's just old age or something, but I really want to try everything first, as it seems to be all right otherways. It also works when I connect it with my friend's  PC, but since she has ****** taste of music () it's not an option. I have a MacBook, also from 2008.
And just to clearify. I have an iPad2, and an old iPod nano (2006) and both works with my computer/iTunes.

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • I just downloaded the latest Windows updates, now videos online will not work on Firefox but will on other browsers, anyone else having this problem?

After downloading the latest Windows updates I found that I could not play videos on YouTube or at other sites. Switching to other browsers I found I could play those same videos now without any problem. So I did a System Restore to determine if the Windows updates had affected video play using Firefox. The restore point was set to the day before the Windows download occurred. After System Restore was completed I could now play videos using the Firefox browser.
To make sure that the Windows update was the problem, I again downloaded the newest Windows Updates and once again could not play videos on any site using Firefox. System restore was used to again reset my computer to the day before and once again the videos would ow play in the Firefox browser.

Actually your reply took me in another direction and I found this on the Adobe site:
The RealPlayer extension for Firefox, Downloading & Recording, has compatibility issues with Flash Player 11.3. If RealPlayer is installed Flash Player content does not appear. YouTube provides an error message when you try to watch a video.
As a workaround, do the following:
    Start RealPlayer.
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner and select Preferences.
Select Download & Recording in the left menu and deselect Enable Web Download & Recording for These Installed Browsers option.
Click OK and restart Mozilla Firefox.
Once I followed this I could now again play videos in Firefox.

  • Pictures synced from Aperture degraded in expanded view which appears to have happened after latest OS update.

It looks like some kind of compression error being not optimized for New iPad to view at 100%. I had no problem viewing 36MP pictures fully expanded in my iPad before the latest OS update. Any New iPad users out there experienced the same issue?

see. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-cant-be-opened-after-you-install-it-ma I wonder if the issues are related.

  • Outlook request sign in and password every time i open it. It did not happen before the latest firefox update

Before the latest Firefox update around 5-6-14, I didn't have to sign in and give a password to open up Outlook from the Firefox default page. Now even after I sign in to Outlook and checking the box to stay signed in, after a few hours, i have to sign in and give the password to open Outlook. It is a Firefox extension or something that has changed. Please do not refer me to Microsoft help as they have a scripted help for this problem that doesn't work.

When I go to edit any post on my [http://whatgetsmehot.posterous.com Posterous] blog, the html and media including photos and videos are duplicating like bunnies if i do any editing (like going from rich format to html and back) all since the latest Beta Update??? And after that it will crash because it has multiplied anywhere from 4X to ?X times.
I submitted a crash report today but i didn't save the info
I've, of course, done all the usual (or i wouldn't be here). Cleared Cache multiple times...there were some funky warnings coming from the error page thing about co-something or other and this is what i have tonight: Warning: Error in parsing value for 'background-image'. Declaration dropped.
    which i realize is nothing...
I have never heard of this at all.
Btw, I uninstalled all my addons and am running on nothing but what comes with my Windows XP and from FF.
    Any thoughts?
