Lay out in Report 3.0

Hi !
I am creating a report in Reports 3.0.
I have to print some 25 fields which will wrap up in 2/3 lines.
My problem is that I am not able to increase the output width
from 80 to 132. My output should go to a file in the hard disk
of my computer. For that I have set the des. type as file, des
name as the c:\...\filename. des Mode as character and the
destination format as hplwide (since the user will be printing
the report in hp Laser jet printer) and orientation as
landscape. But it only spools the output in a file in 80 width.
When I tried to change the width (both in des type and mode) it
is not allowing any change in the value of 80.
How do I change the format of my report from 80 to 132 ?
Any help will be welcome,

Hi !
Try changing the width in a .prn file from 80 to 132. The .prn
files can be found under oracle_home/reports25/admin/printer.
You
also has to change the desformat-parameter for the report to name
the new .prn file.

Recomendation report preview give a bad lay out

Hello experts,
When I m running the payment wizard, once I m arrived to the recommendation report, I click on preview and the lay out given by this preview is not good at all. This issue happen only when the payment run is not executed, if it is executed the preview is correct.
I need this preview to select my payments before to execute them.

Please check Note No. : 1634452 & 1603368 and see whether the issue mentioned by you is similar to the scenario in the Note.
The same is fixed in 8.81 PL09.

Adding a column in the Universe level without losing the Report Lay out

Hi all,
I have one universe with three universes built on it. Now, I want to add a column to one of the tables in the universe. For that, I selected the table and gave 'Refresh the structure'. The column got added in the workspace of the universe. When I drag and drop the table to the class & objects panel, it got added to the class/table in the panel. I saved and exported the universe.
When I do like above, and open the report in the BO XI R3.1 webi front end, the report throws the following error:
'Universe contains unresolved objects' and the report lay out is lost. All the three reports built on this universe is throwing the same error.
Please let me know if there is any other way to retain the report lay out and add the column in the universe level.

Welcome to the sometimes frustrating world of working with dates against SAP BW via BusinessObjects!
Your best bet here is to have a financial calendar table in a database and build a new query against that. Return Week Number as a detail of date and then merge the date dimensions.

Report web lay out creating error

Version - Reports Builder (9.0.4.2.0)
OS -Windows XP ( SP3)
When going to create a report (web lay out) final stage in the wizard (After pressing finish button) I get the following errors.
(database in a separate server (10gR2) )

Back Ground Job- Lay out settings

Hi Frnds,
We will be executing some big reports in the Back ground , now before executing the report i have to select the Lay out , is there any option for this .??
And when i execute the report in back ground i get the data Page wise , but when i execute the report in foreground , i get the report continuous in one page .
Is there any option of getting that report continuously in one page when i execute in back ground ??

Output of background program are totally based on Printer settings you have selected.
Take help of your BASIS team to configure a new printer specially for background job, which can display full report in one page.
Basis team is only responsible for it.

U cannot have the same PLD fucntionality for ur UDO screens a work around is to add a PLD report which is created by code, Generally the thing i do is use a Crystal report in place of the PLD. And open the report for user preview on the click of the Menu-Print Preview toolbar button.

Problem using a lay-out break

When I want to have a selection of text to have for example two columns I use two lay-out breaks: one before the selection and one after the selection. That works fine, but...
Then the last line of a column doesn't show all the letters completely (the underpart of the g is cut off).
What to do?
Check the lines under numbers 4 and 8.

problem solved.
Here is a screenshot of the original doc in which I just replaced the original font by Myriad.
This time, the oddity is huge.
I entered Inspector > Text > Text
and discovered that line spacing was set to "exactly 15"
I replaced the setting by
"exactly 13"
and the behavior is OK.
It's OK too if I apply
single line spacing.
So, we know how to get rid of the problem.
I wait a few days to see if some one is able to give a the theorical explanation.
If I get none, I will post a report to Apple's Bugs Hunters.

Correct! that is exactly what I tried to do, the issue here is that when I place the fields in the upper left level to meet the requirements, the fields appear in the upper place correctly but they do not appear in the left side where I previously placed them. In other words it always shows the fields considering the type of paper I use regardless of the position (side to side of the paper) I locate them. I will sitll try to find any solutions, if I do I will share them with you guys, thanks for the help!

11.1.2- Need to find out what reports are being executed by a user

We have financial reports executed from workspace.In essbase session , only the user id is displayed and the Request type- mdxreport is displayed. We also tried searching the log for Financial report didnt find anything relevant.
Is there a way to find out what reports are being executed by the user.

STAT will give you the information for a limited period of time and is limited to the server which you are logged onto yourself. Beyond 24 hours it is of even less use even if you change the selection screen values.
If you want it for a period way back into the past, then you need to use ST03N.
There are at least 2 dependencies and 1 confusion:
1 dependency) The length of period is determined by the size (length) of the file. You can change this in ST03N (default 50MB) via the menu settings.
2 dependency) The stat collector jobs need to be scheduled to write the information to ST03N (once per hour is a legal requirement in some non-banana republic countries).
1 confusion) There is an obscure function which converts a report submit to a transaction name (there is not much difference anyway) and an even more obsure one which filters what ST03N will record and therefore whether you can read it. You can (un)filter these things away if you search the SAP Marketplace for the term "MONI".
What is of particular value from this control is that you can even detect a submission of an abap which only existed temporarily.
Also note that having this information is potentially very powerfull with respect to the users (some of them are human too), so you should expose and use it responsibly.
You should also ensure that only responsible users / auditors have access to S_TOOLS_EX.

I think you mean it's crashing or quitting unexpectedly.
Most likely due to third party Safari add ons. Follow the instructions for troubleshooting here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
If you can't resolve the issue, post a crash report so we can try and help you get Safari going again.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

The "Photos" view has been replaced by the Media Browser.

I grouped the Repetitive area footer as Group 1
                            here i get the result but the Tax Rows are repeating and Tax amount varies for VAT for each rows

How do I create a table of content in a Pages Template (lay-out) document?

I recently started designing a brochure in Pages, using a lay-out document. The document counts over 100 pages. Now I need to make a table of contents and I just don´t get how to do this...

That sounds more like a book than a "brochure".
You can not make a TOC in Layout mode. The TOC only scans the styled text in the default text area (between the margins) of Word Processing documents and ignores everything else.
