Layer zooming and motion path

I have a very map of the USA (4000x3000)
1.) I cant get good output resolution on this image 1st of all???
I have a circle that is an emitter.
I have a motion on the emitter path that follows a highway.
the emitter, the map and the circle are all in the same layer.
the map is static, then zooms out.
the emitter starts off correctly, but as the map is zooming out, the emitter looses reference until the zoom out stops, then the emitter continues to follow the motion path correctly.
2. how can I get the emitter to stay on the motion path even as the layer is zooming out.

Well, that's a problem. Fixed Resolution was introduced in 2.0.
So, you have a big map (too big, really) and you have the map and the emitter following a path and they're all on a layer and you're playing with the size of the layer?

  • To zoom and motion path a still

    Any hint to how to create motion to a still by grow/shrink with applied motion path and have the pic hold at its destination... freak'n frustrating trying to cheat ways around something that must be so simple.
    Any suggestions?

    Not sure if I'm missing what you're trying to do, but if I'm understanding correctly...
    You can either:
    Apply a Stop behavior to the object's Scale parameter at the frame you want the grow/shrink to stop. (pg 335 in the user manual)
    Or
    Use the End Offset parameter in the Grow/Shink behavior to stop the growing/shrinking. (pg 347)
    Or
    Keyframe it.
    Hope that helps.

  • Lost my Camera and motion paths

    Help! I saved and closed a project, and when I re-opened it later, i can't see my camera or motion paths. The paths tracked over several photographs, and while I can see the photos in perspective view, they do not show up in any 3D angles or camera views. The wireframe image of the camera, background and motion paths are just gone.
    Thanks in advance...

  • How to transform a layer object and a path at the same time?

    Hi all,
    I know I am going to kick myself when you tell me the answer to this!
    I would really like to know if there is any way I can manage to to transform both a layer object and a path at the same time....or if there is any workaround to achieve this.
    In a nutshell, say for example I spend a VERY long time creating an intricate path around a very detailed object, and then at the very end notice just how crooked and out of perspective it is, and would like to straighten it.
    Of course I could transform and correct the object, and then carefully transform the path - but it just won't be exact, and I will have to spend a long time adjusting the path and making SURE it is perfect.
    Isn't there any way I could get to transform them together?
    Usually of course I do all the correction to straighten and correct perspective beforehand, but in some instances after I am done creating the path I then notice that the image could have used further adjustments.
    I appreciate so very much any advice you may have:)
    Thank you kindly,
    Christine

    Okay...I found another way as well... suddenly it all started coming to me in the last few minutes:)
    Once the image is on it's own layer, then we can select the path and then make a vector mask by going to "Layer>Vector Mask>Current Path". Once the vector mask is created, simply click on the image icon on it's layer, then transform away to your heart's content, and the path is transformed along with it. Once finished, the path for the vector mask can be saved as usual. (Don't click on the vector mask icon when transforming the image, otherwise only the path will be transformed.)

  • FCX & FCP:  Keyframing and Motion Path

    I need to find out if keyframing and motion paths are accomplished pretty much the same way in FCP as in Express. Someone is going to help me with keyframing and motion paths but works only with Final Cut Pro. Anyone know if that will be a problem?
    Thanks.
    Lee

    Your FCP person should know how to do this in FCP.
    I believe he does, and I think I can figure out that part of it (eventually) in FCX.
    The "walking forward" means that, at the same time the image is scaling up, the right front lower corner of the image moves forward, then the left front lower corner moves forward, etc giving the appearance of the image "walking." I don't know if that makes any sense. What's more, I don't even know if it is possible in FCX.
    It was suggested I start the image as a square or rectangle and change it into a trapezoid giving the illusion of its "moving." While I understood it as a theory when explained, actually doing it in FCX is another story.

  • End Offset for Grow/Shrink AND Motion Path?

    I make an end offset for my Grow/Shrink ... and the clip stops where it is supposed to. Cool.
    But my Motion Path continues. So the clip stops, but then slides sideways a bit or up and down. There doesn't seem to be a matching End Offset for the Motion Path. I try placing the Motion Path to end BEFORE the end of the clip, but I'm missing something. Can't figure out how to have the two Behaviors end BEFORE the end of the clip (I want the clip to be perfectly still for a long dissolve).
    ? All ears,
    Ben

    Thank you Andy,
    It would have taken me forever to find this in the manual, if it IS in the manual. I'm about to apply it to scores of clips. Long film. All done with still images of ancient symbols and artifacts. The only thing keeping this film alive will be the animated camera moves ... and of course the content, which in this case is extraordinary: the work of David Talbott, a pretty convincing theory that explains the origin of all story on this planet. Stranger than sci-fi.
    Thank you mucho for your help,
    Ben

  • Cs3 curve adjustament layer , can i zoom and use the hand too ?

    Hi
    i have a question about cs3 , under xp
    i add a curve adjustament layer ,-> curve dialog (window) open ->  well i can zoom with the mouse wheel
    but if i keep the space keyboard pressed , i can't use the hand tool
    when i click the space keyboard , it works like the [ok] button , in short if like i click on ok and close the window
    is there a tip to use the curve adjustament layer , zoom and  use the hand tool
    thanks
    cheers

    That's the behavior you would expect in general when using the space bar while a dialog is open in Windows, since the space bar is normally expected to operate the default button - [OK] in this case.  Just for thoroughness I did reproduce the issue with Photoshop CS3 just now, just as you described.  I don't believe there's any workaround.
    This is likely one reason why Adobe implemented the new Adjustments Panel in Photoshop CS4 to replace that dialog entirely.  In PS CS4 and newer you get the functionality you desire - that of having the space bar invoke the Panning feature, even though you may be changing the parameters of an Adjustment layer.

  • Multiple motion paths for my 3 photos

    I’ve been trying to use key frames and motion paths to create a particular effect, but am not really getting anywhere.
    This is what I’m TRYING to achieve using 3 different photos.
    (Step1) Photo 1 appears full screen, zooms out as it reduces in size. Ends up at a position occupying left third of screen.
    (Step2) Cut to Photo 2 full screen, does the same thing – zooms out – reduces in size (in the process revealing small Photo 1 on left). Ends up in middle third of screen.
    (Step3) Cut to Photo 3 full screen – does the same thing – zooms out – reduces in size (in the process revealing small Photo1 on left and small Photo 2 in middle). Ends up on right hand third of screen.
    However, although I have been able to complete these as individual moves on each of the 3 photos, they remain as 3 separate clips in the timeline.
    I can never get the small Photo 1 to be revealed under Photo 2 as it zooms out, or in turn the small Photos 1 & 2 to be revealed under Photo 3 as it zooms out. After a day on this, I’m obviously doing it quite wrong. Maybe it can’t be done in FCP5.
    Any advice appreciated.
    Robert

    Are you putting them on three different tracks?
    Yes, on V1, V2, V3 – but no matter where I put them or how I staggered them in relation to each other, it doesn’t work. Each track totally covers the others up – no “transparency”.
    Before I possibly went crazy I decided to start fresh.
    First, I trashed all my FCP preferences, double checked everything in FCP, and repaired permissions. In FCP I created a new clean “test” project with just the 3 video tracks as before. I also got a friend a little bit familiar with FCP to watch exactly what I was doing. I re-did the three motion paths. Same 3 photos, same moves in each.
    It worked perfectly!
    I don’t know what’s happened. My first attempt was obviously quite wrong somewhere. My old G4 has been a bit cantankerous lately with FCP. It's all very weird.
    Andy - I’m giving you the points, because you forced me to seriously forget about trying to do a fix - instead, redo the whole thing. I’ve lost a day, but it’s been worth it.

    Robert

  • How can I mass move symbols with their motion paths without creating new keyframes?

    I want to move a lot of symbols all at once if they are off centered or just need to be moved around to see differenr styles across the document, but I can't seem to move a lot of the symbols at once, only one at a time slexting their motion paths. It's rather annoying when I have items coming in at different times and have to re line everything up one by one if I want to move things even over by 1 px. Every time I slecect all my symbols and try to move them it just creates a new keyframe that they follow. Is there any tool or certian way to select the symbols and/or thier motion paths and move them without creating new key frames?

    Hi,
    There's no direct way of moving all the symbols/ motion tweens begining at different frames altogether, but the following steps should help you do it -
    1. Select a motion path on stage, goto Properties panel > Options menu (top left corner) and enable - Always show Motion Paths.
    2. Enable - Edit Multiple Frames option in the Timeline.
    3. Adjust the frame-markers in Timeline to show all your symbols, motion paths etc.
    4. Now that you see all your symbols and motion paths together, Select-all and Move them together. Or, use Shift + click to selectively select the Motion paths/objects and move them.
    Let me know if you have any doubts..

  • Tween or Motion path for blank keynote with animated stars?

    I create star particle effect from this tutorial: http://www.schoolofflash.com/2008/03/flash-cs3-particle-effect/ and got help from this discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5518425 in order to get what I wanted. My code is:
    var starsArray:Array = new Array();
    var myTimer:Timer = new Timer(50);
    myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, addStars);
    myTimer.start();
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, moveStars);
    function addStars(e:TimerEvent):void
              var star:Stars = new Stars();
              star.x = stage.stageWidth / 2;
              star.y = stage.stageHeight / 2;
              star.alpha = Math.random() * .8 + .2;
              star.scaleX = star.scaleY = Math.random() * .8 + .2;
              star.xMovement = Math.random() * 10 - 5;
              star.yMovement = Math.random() * 10 - 5;
              starsArray.push(star);
              addChild(star);
              star.cacheAsBitmap = true;
    function moveStars(e:Event):void
              for each (var star:MovieClip in starsArray)
                        star.x += star.xMovement;
                        star.y += star.yMovement;
                        star.alpha -= .01;
                        star.scaleX = star.scaleY -= .01;
                        if (star.scaleX <= 0)
                                  kill(star);
    function kill(star:MovieClip):void
              starsArray.splice(starsArray.indexOf(star), 1);
              removeChild(star);
    However, I wanted to move the star particles around. The problem is that the star isn't on the screen, but is called in the actions in the blank keynote. I don't know what I should do next to get the result. I looked up online for tweens and motion paths but all i see is that they required the star to be right on the screen, I think? I also heard something about the compiled clip but I don't know how I should go about creating one and using it to move around the stars while it's animated with all the actionscript. All I wanted is for the star particles to float around the screen (on a path that I can draw out if possible).....

    Each star is created in the addStars function. Its position is set in the first two lines:
         star.x = stage.stageWidth / 2;
         star.y = stage.stageHeight / 2;
    So, to move each star to a new location when it appears on the stage, you'll need to change the x and y property values for each star. One simple way to do that is to use that same Math.random() function.
    Try changing those first two line to:
              star.x = Math.random() * stage.stageWidth;
              star.y = Math.random() * stage.stageHeight;

  • Powerpoint 2008 on iMac - motion path

    Does MS PowerPoint 2008 for iMac supports motion path? MS PowerPoint 2004 for iMac does not.
    Please help...
    Thank you.
    Lsm

    PowerPoint 2008 has partial motion path support. PowerPoint will honor any existing motion paths within a presentation. The custom animation feature offers the same pre-set motion paths that exist in Windows.
    OpenOffice version 2.40 does display motion paths and lets you edit them.
    Each and every time you save the document you have to visit Tools >
    Options, check the load and save checkboxes next to "PowerPoint to
    OpenOffice.org Impress/OpenOffice.org impress to PowerPoint" It seems to
    be about 50/50 whether the file is saved correctly from OpenOffice.
    "Correctly" meaning that PowerPoint will honor the motion path. I tried
    half a dozen times with various shapes and motion paths. Sometimes it
    works. Sometimes not. Wasn't able to figure out the reason or a pattern.
    Haven't tried in OpenOffice version 3 beta, jet.
    The next version of Microsoft Office will support VBA, and VBA supports motion paths, so maybe next time.

  • Is there a clearer video tutorial on zooming and panning in on clip than this?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0kt60VAyb8&feature=related
    This is sort of helpful, but despite over thre hours work, I cannot get my clip to do what I want.
    I need Video Tutorials, not text instruction. i'm dyslexic and simply see gobbldeegupe when looking at written instructions.
    Thanks, everyone.
    This is the clip in question...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6LWzo5n_sg
    I want to zoom in to avoid seeing my lady at right of screen, who basically stopped acting in the scene.   The zoom in will be effective anyway, since we are zooming in on an annoyed man. The image would need to zoom in, but not the center of the image. So a pan up also needs to be applied.

    That Tutorial covers the basic mechanics of a Pan & Zoom with Keyframes on the Fixed Effects>Motion>Scale (Zoom) and Motion>Position (Pan).
    The next step is to learn about Interpolation in Keyframes, where one can adjust how things appear. The Keyframes, that the author used were Linear, so they start at full-speed and end at full-speed. Through Interpolation, one can adjust how the motions begin and end. The Help File covers Keyframe Interpolation ver well, and as there are quite a few choices, with different results, is important when one chooses to alter Interpolation.
    What aspects would you like more detail on?
    Only thing that I saw, that I would have included, would have been near the end, when the author click-drags on the last Keyframes, one at a time. That can be done, but one can also Lasso the Keyframes, and drag them all together. I'd have shown each way. I would also have shown the "scrubby" characteristic of the numerical coordinate box, as that can be useful too. Many operations in PrPro have more than one way to do things, and to cover each, does make a better tutorial.
    Let us know what else could/should be added, or where you are having an issue.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
    PS - rather than the graphical change in Position, that the author used, I usually rely on the numbers, but there is nothing wrong with the graphical method - just personal choice and how one likes to work.

  • Particular 2.1.1. motion path + obscuration layer

    Obscuration layer works fine when i use with particles that are coming from an animated emitter (light with animated path), but not when use the same path as motion path with a still emitter (which is at the same point as the starting point of the motion path). It looks good when i rotate the camera around. The 3d layer is in the middle of the particles, yet it wont obscure.
    Am i doing something wrong, or is it just a bug?

    Aaargh. *slams fist on the keyboard*
    Seems like another one of those "set it to off, then turn it on again and it works fine" behavior Particular is known for.
    Close it

    the answer is YES. I figured it out. I found it easier if I defined  ALL the motions upfront.
