Layers not behaving

Question

I have a layer on this page:
http://www .mywebspinners.com/SR/
It's called 'Sidebar'.
I'm having trouble positiong it, sizing it and getting it to
have a vertical scrollbar ONLY.
When i make it thinner - the vertical scroll bar disappears
and the whole table shows.
When I make it wider - the horizintal scroll bar show - which
I don't want.
SOmetimes when I change the width - it makes no different
online.
I used to add layers n the old DW - and it didn't use CSS.
Not it seems its obligatory - and I really don't understand CSS
very well.
Can anyone help?

There would be no such things as layers without CSS. You may
not have
thought that older versions were not using CSS, but they
were. The styles
were simply written inline to the <div>, e.g.,
<div
style="position:absolute;width:100px;height:76px;"></div>
instead of in a stylesheet, e.g.,
#Sidebar {
position:absolute;
width:224px;
height:400;
z-index:2;
overflow: auto;
left: 530px;
visibility: visible;
top: 130px;

You will never progress in your abilities if you don't change
this.
And if you are going to use 'layers', then you MUST
understand some CSS -
particularly the part about the properties of things that
have been
absolutely positioned.
Nevertheless, I see that Nadia has got your initial problem
