LDAP access in WebDynpro ABAP

Hello,
Could you let me know your views on the following:
Scenario:
Customer has an LDAP and would like to use it for any user authentication
Question
1) How can a webdynpro application connect to LDAP for user authentication? Could you pls. elaborate on the process / configuration.
2) With WebDynpro for Java, I suppose we can configure the UME to use LDAP and also we can map LDAP users to R/3 users. Is there something similar available in ABAP (CUA-LDAP connectivity?)
3) I believe this needs to be configured at the ABAP Web Application Server level and when the settings are done user are authenticated against LDAP. Is my understanding right or do we need to code something within ABAP webdynpro application as well.
Appreciate your inputs.
Best Regards,
Gajendra.

Hi,
I think we get connected to the enterprise portal to have the access to LDAP where the users are mapped as per single sign-on.
Please try to post in the Enterprise portal aslo to get more information.

Lekha.

  • Anonymous user Unbale to access an WebDynpro ABAP iView

    Hi,
I have developed an application using webdynpro ABAP and integrated that into portal.
For this webdynpro application i have to create an iview, assigned it to a page, assigned this page to a custom role. I also set Authentication to anonymous for the page and iView. Assinged the custom role created to anonymous Group.
But while running it i am getting an error "An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator. Exception ID 04:55_25/10/11_0047_14739050"
When I checked the log, it shows the error as "Deprecated scope of type SERVERSESSION_AT_LEAST_ONE_APP_SCOPE is used! Please replace the usage of scopes with new
mechanism based on "Cross application session communication API".
I also checked the note 1031159 and changed the configurations accordingly but getting the same above error.
    I am on EP7.3 version.
Please guide me to move further successfully in showing the webdynbpro abap applicaiton to anonymous user.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I'm also working on EP7.3 and R3 WD4A integration. But I just can't find any WD for ABAP from whithin EP7.3 wizard.
I tried to create the WD4A iview by right-clicking a PCD folder and then "New"->"iView"->"iView from remote source" to get a search screen. I choose a system alias (point to bk web as), use "*" as application id, and pick "WebDynpro for ABAP" as the application type.
However, I always got "Nothing found. Change your search criteria."
I did do some activation work on backend R3 SICF setting. I'm able to directly access  web dynpro via http://mywebas.domain:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/mywd....
If you're using the same scenario, please let me know anything I missed or any other special setting.
    Thanks

  • Webdynpro ABAP called from IView JAVA works over http but doesn't over http

Hello gurus, like I said in the subject, we have integrated inside our JAVA portal a WebDynpro ABAP and it's working good over http protocol (http://<servername>:<http_port>/irj/portal), but when you browse the portal over https protocol (https://<servername>:<https_port>/irj/portal), everything works fine exept the WebDynpro ABAP, is like if the javascript components didn't be loaded completly, because the buttons doesn't make anything, and only half of the table that is supossed to be loaded is showed.
Do you know what kind of configuration I'm missing?
    Thanks and best regards

You have to note here that for webdynpro ABAP applications, the http/https request is actually served by the backend server.
So, while accessing your webdynpro ABAP application, the request will be like:
    https://<mybackendserver>:<backendport>/bc/sap/.....
While creating a system object in your portal (System landscape), you will need to adjust the protocol to https and also set the appropriate https port of the backend server. Also, HTTPS/SSL communication should be enabled on your backend server.
Please check the definition of your system object.
You can find more information by turning on a HTTP trace and checking how the request is routed to the backend server upon accessing the WD4A application.
    Thanks,
    Shanti

  • WebDynpro ABAP application opening blank in portal

    Dear All,
There is a strange issue which is being faced by one user. when the user tries to access a Webdynpro ABAP application in Portal then it opens in new window but nothing is displayed in the tray. Now when the user right clicks on the opened window->properties and copies the url from properties and pastes it in new tab (IE 8 is used) then the application opens and works fine.
The portal and backend roles are fine for the user as he can access/work when the application is opened using the copied url.
Please suggest what could be the problem for the user. For other users the issue mentioned is not there.

  • Access Portal groups in webdynpro ABAP component

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to access portal group in web dynpro ABAP application and based on whether user is assigned to particular group or not further processing for application will be done.
Are there any UME API or some other API's available to access portal groups in Webdynpro ABAP component?
    Thanks in Advance..!!
    Regards,
    Shruti Shah

This might be a question better suited to the portal forum. The WDA Portal APIs do not have such functionality.  You might be able to take the Java Portal APIs and wrap them in a web service so that they are callable from ABAP.

  • Unable to access Webdynpro abap application externally

    Hello,
We have created a WebDynpro ABAP application,it is a simple application talking to the ECC.
We are able to run this application on our portal within the network, but when we try to access the application from an external network it says Internet Explorer page cannot be displayed.
We are not using any Web Dispatcher.
    Thanks
    Mayi

You need to talk to your network administrators.  Probably your ECC system is within your corportate network and behind a firewall that doesn't allow requests in for these servers/ports.  You need to work with your basis team and network team to open the appropriate ports and IP addresses in the firewall. However you should also still provide protection for your ECC system with some forms of reverse proxies as already suggested.  This is a security process you should perform with your local admins.  This isn't really a Web Dynpro ABAP related process or inquiry.

  • Accessing WebDynpro ABAP application from external network

    Hi All,
I have developed one application in webdynpro ABAP.
Now my requirement in to access this application through internet.
I dont want to use portal to run application.
Is it possible to access through internet ?

You can access the webdynpro application via internet with the help of SAP Web Dispatcher. Basis team will install the web dispatcher and then machine can put into a DMZ area which in turn can be opened to Internet with necessary controls.

  • How to access SQL tables from WebDynPro ABAP application ?

    Hi,
I am trying a scenario, where I need to send an user ID to SQL server table (update/modify/delete) from webDynpro ABAP application.
Basically ,I am trying to know:---
a>How to write a SQL Connection from ABAP code within webdynpro ABAP application
b>What are the ways to do it.(by code or any other API/mechanism)
I appreciate if anybody knows this.
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Hi,
The EXEC CONNECT ... is usually used in the procedural ABAP code. For this you can refer to the ABAPDOCU.
I dont have any sample code on the classes I listed try to check out them for the parameters and the methods they have.
In WD for Java, we have these connection classes to connect to any databsae server.
Or try to create an RFC with DESTINATION for this
Pls check out this link for this -
Pull data from another r3 server using abap dynpro

  • Accessing webdynpro abap application

    Hi all,
is there a way to access web dynpro abap ouside local network ( and  not using portal )??
    Thanks in advance,
    Federica.

Via URL like any other web server. I guess I don't understand your question.  A portal technically has nothing to do with internet access. If you server is exposed to the internet via the proper network setup then you can the application URLs from the internet just like you could from within your network.

  • Default Values for Select-options In Webdynpro-ABAP

    Hi Freinds,
Kindly,Help me in setting the Default values for the Select-options in Webdynpro ABAP.
Here the Node and the Attributes are Created Dynamically, and then Displayed Select-options Component View.
    Regards,
    Xavier.P

Xavier Reddy Penta sent me this question via email and I answered it directly yesterday. Here is the solution that I provided to him, so that it is stored with the original question:
I believe your problem is that you are not setting the value into the range correctly.  You are setting it directly into the field symbol of the range like such:
    <FS> = L_STRING2.
But ranges are deep objects. They have four fields: Sign, Option, High, and Low. This is from the online help:
    1.     sign of type c and length 1. The content of sign determines for every row whether the result of the condition formulated in the column is included or excluded in the entire resulting set for all rows. Evaluable values are "I" for include and "E" for exclude.
    2.     option of type c and length 2. option contains the selection option for the condition of the row in form of logical operators. Analyzable operators are "EQ", "NE", "GE", "GT", "LE", "LT", "CP" and "NP" if column high is initial, and "BT", "NB" if column high is not initial. With the options "CP" and "NP", the data type of the columns low and high must be of the data type c, and special rules apply for entries on the selection screen.
    3.     low of the data type defined after FOR. This column is designated for the comparison value or the lower interval limitation.
    4.     high of the data type defined after FOR. This column is designated for the upper interval limitation.
So when you are moving the value into the field symbol you are setting it into the sign column.
Here is an example of how you can access the components of the range:
    * create a range table that consists of this new data element
        lt_range_table =
          wd_this->lv_sel_handler->create_range_table(
               i_typename = l_typename ).
        IF l_fieldname = 'CARRID'.
          FIELD-SYMBOLS: <tab>         TYPE INDEX TABLE,
                             <struct>      TYPE ANY,
                             <wa>          TYPE ANY,
                             <option>      TYPE char2,
                             <sign>        TYPE char1,
                             <high>        TYPE ANY,
                             <low>         TYPE ANY,
                             <wa_values>   TYPE ANY.
          ASSIGN lt_range_table->* TO <tab>.
APPEND INITIAL LINE TO <tab> ASSIGNING <wa>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'OPTION' OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <option>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'HIGH' OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <high>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'LOW' OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <low>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'SIGN' OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <sign>.
          <sign> = 'I'.
          <option> =  'EQ'.
          <low> = 'AA'.
        ENDIF.

  • Webdynpro abap from outside

    Hi Folks,
I have created a webdynpro abap and it works very well, when I call ist from the application server or inside the network.
Now I want to call it from outside and I get error " can not display the page".
The url from inside  is http://server.sap.com:8002/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wdt_master_detail?sap-language=DE
    and from outside http://server.sap.com:8002/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=001
I have started all the services.
Do I have still to configure something?
    Thanks for help.
    RG. Jimbob

    Hi.
Im new to this Forum but i have the same Problem.
I cannot open the ABAP WEBDYNPRO from Outside of my network.
    Configuration
    - Apache reverse proxy in DMZ (running well)
    - EP 7.01 in DMZ
    - ABAP SOLMAN in local Network
I can access the Portal from Outside (http://service.myportal.de/irj) and use it. But if I open a iView with ABAP Webdyndpro i receive the Error "Page cannot be found".  Looks like that the iView try to open the internal URL from SOLMAN.
What can I do to solve this problem.
    Thanks for any Idea.

  • WebDynpro ABAP application issue from Portal after ECC 6 upgrade to SP14

    Hi,
We have recently upgraded the Kernel, ABAP and Java stack of ECC 6.0 system to SP14. After the upgrade most of the WebDynpro ABAP applications doesn't load and just flickers when run from Portal as a WebDynpro iView, but they run perfectly fine when accessed directly using URL. These were running fine prior to the upgrade. Can someone suggest what can be going wrong.
Will reward points for helpful answer.
    Regards
    Mukesh

    Hi Mukesh,
As Gajendra said, restarting the service in SICF sometimes works for us, but not always.  We have also had to deactivate the entire Webdynpro node, and then reactivate it and all of the services below it.
Obviously something changed in the SP, given that we now have to do this every time we create a new WDA application.
    Cheers,
    John

  • Webdynpro ABAP not working from internet

    Hello,
I´m new at webdynpro and portal...
We have a ess portal with webdynpro abap and java. Our employees may access it from intranet and all works fine, and from internet when they are in the outside.
From internet the webdynpro abap gives the message that the server cannot be reached. The server is our production backend and is not open to the exterior.
Is there a way to make this work, from inside and outside?
    Teresa

    Yes sure,
so you have to set the parameter wdisp/add_clientprotocol_header = 1 in the web dispatcher profile.

  • Issue on Creating RFx in webdynpro ABAP application - SRM Business Package

    Hi
We are in to SRM 7.0 with the same version of Business Package in SAP Portal also.
I am trying to create a RFx from Portal which in turn calls the webdynpro ABAP application (Strategic Purchasing->Strategic Sourcing->Create Documents->RFx)
    sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif.
This Application has some button called "Tech RFx", "Permissions" etc., When I click on those buttons it throws the error as below :
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM": object "TechResp". For more information, contact your administrator."
Please let me know where we are missing. I have checked all the Portal permissions. Even I can able to access all other iviews except this two buttons.
Any settings or parameters required on webdynpro ABAP side.
    Regards,
    Raja.J

    Dear Raja,
this behavior occurs if the IView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp
is not assigned to the role which is assigned to the user.
Please assign this IView to the desired user.
Here are the steps to follow in your systems:
STEP 1: Login to the Portal with Content Admin Authorization.
STEP 2: Navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> Core -> Roles -> Open the desired role and
    choose Navigation Folder.
STEP 3: Now navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
    specialist -> SRM7.0 -> PPS -> iViews -> Tendering -> Select Tech
Responses (Technical name is iView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp) and
right click and choose 'Add iView to Role' -> Delta Link and save.
STEP 4: Log off and login with the user and check the issue.
    Best regards,
    Tamas
