Lenovo G550 2958-j6y Bluetooth not found

Hello, I just buy a lenovo g550 2958-j6y and I can´t turn on the Bluetooth device. I press Fn+F5 and I only get the option for turn on/off the wireless card and I can´t install the Bluetooth driver for windows XP, it says "Bluetooth device not found". On the specifications (www.lenovo.com.ar >>> Products >>> Value Line >>> 2958-j6y) says that it has Bluetooth. Can anybody help me, please?

If I go to THIS Lenovo web page and type your
model number (2958-J6Y) in Quick Path box on right,
the Original Description for your laptop does not show bluetooth.
Maybe it is just an option?

  • Requesting Lenovo G550 2958 H2Q Recovery Disk

    Hello,
My Lenovo G550 2958 H2Q switches off frequently and on reboot asks for recovery options. The 'Repair Disk Windows 7 32 bit' was used to recover the disk image. Contacting the Lenovo Support didn't help as they try to throw ball in others court. When the service provider was personally approached at Chennai, he informed his inability to provide a Recovery Disk or to recover to factory default due to software not available for my model. Now the repair disk has got corrupted or damaged.
What do I do now? Continue operating on Safe mode due to the inefficiency of LENOVO staff!
Can anyone please help me in this forum by mailing me the disk- I promise to bear the cost. Thanks.

you should be able to order recovery discs by calling lenovo support line. call them again and tell ( again ) you want to order recovery discs. post back the results and we'll try to help you to solve your issue.
ps: if you don't want to use one key recover function, i can assist you to download legal windows 7 iso so you can perform clean windows installation by using your serial number.

    Hi,
Can any provide a recovery disk for a Lenovo G550 2958 with Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit or alternatively be able to tell me the original C and D drive partition sizes for the 149GB version?
Typical resize of partitions error of judgement - will never make this mistake again.
Failing that I will just merge all partitions, be done with it and just re-install an OS.
Just looking for any easy way out.
    Many thanks.

  • PCIe Slot on Lenovo G550 2958 95Q

I've recently bought a Lenovo G550 2958 95Q, which ships with integrated graphics. However, I need a more powerful GPU for graphics applications. So I was wondering if there are some PCIe slots on this Laptop that I could utilize to upgrade my GPU.
    Are there ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sunny

Note : Lenovo G550 2958 H2Q had dedicated Graphics, and they are pretty much similar, only for the GPU. So does that mean that the 95Q is nothing but the h2q, only that the GPU's been removed?

when i on bluetooth switch  massage shown on screene device not found

    hi RAJUPUROHIT,
    Welcome to the Forums.
Prior to installing Windows 8.1, were you able to use the bluetooth functionality before?
If bluetooth was working before you upgraded to Win8.1, try the following:
Turn off the computer and remove the AC adapter and battery.
Press and hold the power button for 30secs then reconnect the AC adapter and battery.
Turn ON the computer and press F2 to boot into the BIOS, when you're in, press F9 to reset BIOS to defaults and press F10 to save and exit.
Boot into Windows and open Device Manager (press the Windows key‌ +R, type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter)) and see if you have a Bluetooth Module installed.
If the bluetooth device is still not showing, try to install these drivers and reboot:
    Lenovo Energy Management
    v5.4.0.8
    Bluetooth Driver installer
       - this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, try pairing a bluetooth device and observe.
When finished, press Fn+F5 and check if you have the option to turn ON Wireless & Bluetooth (see image below). If these options aren't available, make sure the physical wireless switch is turned ON.
Let me know how it goes.

  • IMac - slow to boot, bluetooth not found.

    System:
    iMac 24" (Early 2009) 2.66GHz
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory (upgraded from original 4GB with 3rd party memory about 4 years ago)
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB Disk (upgraded from original 640GB about 2 years ago)
    NVIDIA GeForge 9400
    OS X: 10.10.1
The issue began about 3 months ago when my mother-in-law had the machine. According to her, the machine became very slow to boot (taking from 20min to over 1 hour) and her wireless mouse was not working. Fortunately she was already using a wired keyboard and had a spare wired mouse, so she was able to use the machine. Other than the slow boot and mouse issue, the system was stable.  We decided to replace her machine in any case, primarily because it's not easily serviceable - especially where she lives (rural Alabama). I took the machine back (it had been mine originally). At that point it was running 10.8.5.
    I observed the following:
    1) The system was, indeed, very slow to boot as she described.
    2) None of the bluetooth devices were working.
    3) The bluetooth device shows as "No information found" in the System Information report
    4) Bluetooth preferences were not visible in system preferences.
    5) Coincident with her first report or problems, the following messages began appearing in the system logs:
    Dec 30 14:25:05 localhost kernel[0]: USBF:    3.195    AppleUSBHubPort::FatalError - Port 3 of Hub at 0x6100000 reported error 0xe00002c0 while doing clearing port feature (1)
    Dec 30 14:25:05 localhost kernel[0]: USBF:    3.195    AppleUSBHubPort::FatalError - Port 1 of Hub at 0x6100000 reported error 0xe00002c0 while doing clearing port feature (1)
    Dec 30 14:25:05 localhost kernel[0]: USBF:    3.206    AppleUSBHubPort::FatalError - Port 2 of Hub at 0x6100000 reported error 0xe00002ed while doing getting port status (4)
    Dec 30 14:25:05 localhost kernel[0]: USBF:    3.206    AppleUSBHubPort::FatalError - Port 2 of Hub at 0x6100000 reported error 0xe00002c0 while doing clearing port feature (2)
Though she originally had external peripherals attached, all have been removed - the only things plugged into any USB or Firewire port are the keyboard and mouse.
So, that's how the machine was when I got it back... I have tried the following:
    1) First I tried AHT - booting from the original disks provided with the system (AHT version 3A170). AHT hung while probing system hardware; it just stalled for several hours (I think I let it try overnight, only to return to see no progress). I've tried AHT a couple of times through this ordeal and can never get to the point where I can even initiate the test.
    2) I tried removing the bluetooth preferences file.
    3) I tried resetting NVRAM
    4) I tried resetting SMC
    5) I've booted in verbose mode, but nothing really stood out as clearly (or even vaguely) indicating a problem.
People did suggest booting in "safe" mode - thought it was never clear what I was supposed to do after that. In any case, an attempt to boot in safe mode caused the machine to just reboot itself. I even set safe mode in the boot-args and sat back and watched as the machine consistently rebooted itself each time... about 7 or 8 times before I got sick of hearing the boot chime. I did have verbose mode turned on in boot-args as well, an each time it rebooted at the same point, while initializing drivers. Interestingly, booting in "normal" mode has never been an issue - save for the exceptional amount of time it takes.
Since the data on the disk was of no use to me, I created a 10.10.1 install package on a USB stick and installed fresh - verifying and reformatting the hard drive before performing the install. The installation was uneventful (i.e. worked just like it should).
So, now I am running 10.10.1 and still no Bluetooth. I tried the AHT again and again it gets hung probing the hardware and I can't even initiate the test. I even tried a suggestion from another thread (hold ctl-shift-option and the power button for about 6 sec while the power is off)... that had worked for a number of folks but not for me.
One other piece of info I just confirmed while writing this, 0x6100000 is the Location ID associated with the BRCM2046 Hub - i.e. the Bluetooth device. Why this shows up as a hub on the USB Bus but the device itself doesn't appear to exist is confusing. I certainly would expect to see this as a USB hub on a correctly functioning system, it's just confusing why it's there when the underlying bluetooth device is not recognized.
So, I am pretty much convinced it's a hardware issue of some kind - given this is a "spare" Mac that I was simply trying to re-purpose to host a film scanner that requires a FireWire interface, I am not sure how much I want to invest financially in getting this resolved. I have heard that Apple no longer services these machines, but I could be wrong...  As I see it my options are kind of limited:
    1) Take it to a repair facility (even if Apple doesn't work on them, there are at least 2 places near by that do) and pay them $$ just to tell me that it's going to be $$$ fix it.
    2) Get my hands dirty, open this thing up and see if I can fix it.
I'm leaning towards option 2, but I am really reluctant to go on a fishing expedition. Based on what I have observed, it seems to be a problem with the bluetooth module itself, and as I understand it that is a separate part from the main logic board... which means that I can replace it for about $35 and the cost of the right tools; which all together total about the same amount as the "diagnostic" fee any local repair shop would charge. If it's not that, then it's the logic board and the best price I can find for that puts it in the "not worth the trouble" category anyway. I don't want to rule out some other component - memory, disk drive, or power supply... but any of those, at least to me, seem like the kind of components which would cause more erratic behavior when they fail.
So, what's my question - simple ... have I missed something here. Before I perform open heart surgery are there any last tricks I can try or is my conclusion that this must be a hardware problem pretty solid?

If your EHDs are formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and your using them as normal EHDs you don't need all of the WD software installed. The OS can use the disks without it.  Uninstall all of the WD software:

    WDDriveUtilityHelper    UNKNOWN  (missing value)

  • Bluetooth not found in ML

    Hello,
I've been trying to (re-)activate Bluetooth for a while, but it seems that it is not working anymore.
More or less since I re-installed Mountain Lion (a fresh install), my bluetooth stopped working (I'm not a frequent BT user so I'm not sure).
Hardware: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), OS X Mountain Lion, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM
Some fast answers to possible questions you could make:
Yes, I've used Bluetooth before in Snow Leopard and maybe also in Lion, and it had no problem at all.
I run the Apple Hardware Test using the SL Install Disk, both the short and the full one. It did not find any problem.
I did a SMC Reset. Problem not solved.
I did a PRAM Reset. Problem not solved.
I do repair my disk permissions frequently.
    Thanks for your help

  • Bluetooth not found

Hi, hp envy m6 1125dx, win8 64bit I have the above mentioned pc for about a year now and always worked fine. I recently bought a Parrot Zik bluetooth headphones. I had never used/looked for bluetooth on the pc before now. I paired the headphones with my phone, no problem at all. Then, I tried to pair the headphones with the pc..... The bluetooth icon is nowhere to be found.. and I don't remember having seen it ever.. I go to Control panel>Device manager>Network adapters and I see that there is no Bluetooth adapter installed... Then, I open the service.msn file and I see that the "Bluetooth Support Service" is running... How can it run with no drivers installed?????? So far I've tried:1. a hard reset of the pc ( power off, disconnect everything, pull battery out, press the power button for 20sec, battery back in, turn pc on ) didn't work, bluetooth icon is still missing and in pc settings>wireless the option to turn bluetooth on or off is not there. 2. Tried to install the following drivers, sp60480.exe, sp58944.exe, sp59207.exe, sp59021.exe and also SetupBtwDownloadSE.exe of Broadband.comAgain, no luck. None of the drivers was even installed.... Any ideas anyone on what could be wrong??? Should I just get an external usb Bluetooth adapter..??? If Yes, any suggestions on which one??? This is a **bleep** expensive pair of headphones and I would hate it not being able to use them...Don't think it matters but, I bought the pc in the U.S. but I live in Italy. Many thanks

Hi, my name is Frank, how do you do!   I just came across your post reply and I have a similar problem (the reason I am here searching, Eureka!) so I thought I would take this opportunity to ask, if I may about my situation.   I purchased my computer slightly before 12/25/2012 at BestBuy.   It is a HP Envy m6 Notebook PC with original Win 8 64 bit upgraded free to Win 8.1 last year and getting ready to upgrade to Win 10 when it is released! Kudos to be given, hurrah!!! Thanks and I await an answer......(s) to above 3 issues! Sincerely, Your internet friend, Frank H PS:  I will monitor your response, thanks!: smileyhappy:  hmm no emoticon showing........

  • Bluetooth not found under OS X Mountain Lion

    Hello everyone,
Recently, I reinstalled OS X Mountain Lion from scratch to overcome some performance problems.
Sadly, I found that now bluetooth does not work on my MacBook Pro anymore.
    Here are two screenshots:
I am not sure bluetooth worked on Mountain Lion before reinstalling since I'm not a regular user, but I'm sure it did back on 10.7 Lion and 10.6 Snow Leopard.
What would you suggest to check?
    Thanks.
    Edited (fixed screenshots)

Just for reference: I tried everything I found searching for a similar problem in the support community.
I deleted the file /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist, then reset the SMC and the NVRAM/PRAM.
I also did various reboots and permission repairs just to be sure everything else was fine.
I also investigated the possibility of a hardware issue and found this old and not ever properly solved question. I checked the cable described by bowmanmc and ensured it was properly pushed into its socket.
Also, this guide confirmed that the cable I checked was really the right one (my MacBook Pro is a late 2009 one, and internally slightly different from the early 2011 one, but unless Apple completely revolutionized the MBP's internal structure, I think I checked the right cable).

  • URGENT: Bluetooth not found since upgrading to Snow Leopard

I have a MBP which I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard, running 10.6.2.
Since upgrading I no longer have bluetooth on this machine.
I have tried the following without success:
    1. Installed temp monitor + smcFanControl to cool chipset down (temps at 39C)
    2. Reset PRAM + NVRAM
    3. Restarted (with / without power adaptor), Shut down, etc
    4. Installed latest drivers and software
    5. Deleted bluetooth*.plist
    6. tried changing sleep mode to hibernatemode 0
Bluetooth does not appear in the system preferences, or the toolbar or anywhere on the system. Bluetooth diagnostics does not locate it either.

Have you tried resetting the SMC? You said "Reset PRAM + NVRAM" so I'm not sure if you meant SMC when you said "PRAM"
If you have not tried resetting the SMC... give that a try. Be sure to follow the instructions for your specific model as they vary from machine to machine:

Bluetooth disappearing is not that uncommon and resetting the SMC usually brings it back.

  • 2958-J6Y performance

    hi guys,
    I just bought a Lenovo 3000 G550 2958-J6Y, and made a clean win7ultimate 64b install.
I am having serious performance isues in what i consider key spots:
1 windows graphics: in areo mode, windows and menues show up slowly like a bad vista install.
2 opengl games running below average fps... (I'm aware the video card isn' that great but still)
I think the problem (if there is a problem) is  the video driver. win7 downloaded and installed it.
any suggestions before I move to xp 64bits?  is this a good move? I didn¨t notice a full set of drivers for xp 64b in the drivers page: http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=600154
many thanks in advance. the machine itself works like a charm but I need the rigth OS.
    greetings

It didn't came with card reader..
I tried to install the bluetooth driver but none was detected by the software... what gives?!
anyway, I'm pretty happy with the pc. it works fine with games, movies and music. although windows media center it's a dissapointment....
i think w7 doesn't work too well with the pagefile since i hear a lot of HD noise.
I hope the full set of drivers will complete soon, I thnk I need the chipset drivers for w7 64b...
    thanks duck!
