Lightening strike "fried" all components. What effect on Mac?

I had lightening strike a tree & bounce over to my Chimney on St. Paddy's day, evening. It "fried" all of my computer components & Comcast boxes & more. Can you give me a list of all of the problems that that could have caused to my Macbook? (Most say, if it is not black or does NOT turn on, then it could be "hardware issue" related to LIGHTENING STRIKE. And they say that all the problems that I have been having are "software issues" & NOT related to the lightening.
IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME VALIDATION THAT THE LIGHTENING STRIKE CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY MAC, THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL BUY ME A NEW ONE! (Of course, I will need to know who to go to to get this VALIDATED.)
I hope that someone is creative enough or has had this experience to know that it CAN happen. I need all the help that I can get!

Lightning strikes can cause a myriad of problems that may or may not include total destruction of electronic components. Surge protectors may help, but do not always help with lightning strikes as the induced voltage and duration of the surge may not allow the surge protector time to trip.
I have learned that surge protectors do NOT protect from lightening strikes! Only electrical surges. There used to be one compay & our Electrical Company, NES, who sold actual Lightening Protection Devices. NES no longer provides those, so nothing will protect against an electrical strike.
I was also told that while most of one's components can be "fried", that computers have a built in protection that must be pretty powerful to have NOT damaged my Macbook with the lightening strike.
You don't say why the chimney damage is relevant...was there an electrical, cable, dish antenna associated with the chimney?
No, it was St. Paddy's evening, March 17. I was gone for 2 hours & came home & had no electricity. I hit the breakers & all came back on, but my TV & computer. I called out NES & they saw some "burn" in the internal box outside. It took me several days to realize what had happened. I went to put something in my storage building which is attached to the house & happened to look up & 2/3 of my chimney was gone. First thinking wind or tree branch?? Then, I started finding pieces of brick & mortar on the side of the house where I would have been parking & then in the back yard & finally at least 150 ft back in the yard & knew that no wind could have done that. Finally, one guy said that my chimney had been struck by lightening. And then another saw exactly what had happened. Lightening hit the top of a sweet gum tree outside of my fence, came down to a knot & a V in the trunk & bounced over to my chimney & went down the chimney & through my electrical system in the lower level of my house. Clearly, my Vonage box was "fried", as was my modem, router, TV cable box, phones, & many other electrical components.
So, I was hoping that SOMEONE reading here might just have experienced a lightening strike that DID DAMAGE THEIR MAC & COULD TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO SUPPORT THAT, as the insurance company would buy me a new one.
Yes, I have been having issues with my Macbook, thanks to NO help from Apple after paying to 3 years coverage & being on the phone with them for hours at a time & months at a time. I had an "issue" that happened about 1 year into my warranty & they did NOT fix it. The "genius" was rude & put >8,000 files in ONE folder, for ME to deal with. Lost all of my folders, albums, grouped items & it is still a mess.
I plan to write the HEAD of Apple when I get other issues in my life resolved, even if it is way past the "coverage date". You have no idea what I have gone through & the displeasure that I have had out of this Macbook because of them. I suffer from a debilitating disease that keeps me from getting things done in a timely manner & right now I am overwhelmed & pretty much "immobilized". I have been on disabiltiy since 1993, spent most of my life savings as a professional single woman, so I have no money to get a nearly 4 year old Mac repaired that should have been "fixed" while under warranty!!
However, each time I use my Mac, something else happens... the "spinning ball of death" is about to make me throw this "bloody thing" across the room. Now, my Time Machine is "missing". My MyBook external HD is NOT working. I am told that several other parts of my Operating System are missing, e.g. the Launch Agent, whatever that is & I have no idea what else & that my Mac IS damaged. I was told that I needed to Re-Install my OS, which would be fine, IF my Time Machine & External HD that was saving all of my back-ups were working.
Then I stupidly... ignorantly installed MacKeeper & everyone says that needs to be UN-INSTALLED ASAP, but with all the issues that I am having, & the "how to UN-INSTALL, NOT using MacKeeper...", I cannot understand it. I have tried & one person has been trying to help me to no avail. I am "terrified" of losing all of my information & of my Macbook finally dying, due to stupid things.
Please have a look at the posts on my case about that & if you can help me, I would be very grateful.

Lightening strike tripped circuit breaker, iMac still works perfectly except I cannot access internet, all external cables etc proved Ok. any suggestions to get me back online?

We had a lightening strike that tripped the circuit breaker - does my iMac now need repairing? Everything works on it except I cannot access the internet via the ethernet cable. I have checked the router and cable and both work on other pc's.

If you connect to the router via the Ethernet port at the time of the strike it is possible it is damaged.
Can you connect to your other computers via the Ethernet port on your router, if so the port will be good and it may be just a software setup you need to go through.
Try Pauls suggestions first if they don't fix it and you need a new logic board you could try a USB to Ethernet adapter, it would probably be a lot cheaper that replacing the logic board.
If you have home insurance would that cover the cost of repairs?
Apple Ethernet to USB, it states MacBook Air, but I think they work with other Macs.

As you are asking your empty pagedef, which is what you do with
BindingContainer bindings = getBindings ();
bindings.getAttributeBindings ();it returns null. This is expected behavior.
You have to walk the component tree to get all components check each for it's type and get the information from the component itself. You can use something like

Clients Agent no longer installing all components properly

I attempted an upgrade to R2, but it failed, so I reverted back to a VM snapshot before the upgrade attempt and all is well except for installing the client during OSD.
The imaging process works fine, but once complete the agent isn't listing all the Components as installed or enabled:
1) CCM Notification Agent: Disabled
2) Most of the components that should have a status of Enabled are listed as Installed.
On top of that I'm running SP1 CU2 (5.00.7804.1300), but the newly imaged devices list all components as SP1 base (5.00.7804.1000).
I checked the LocationServices.log file on a client and after a few failed attempts to reach my MP it eventually finds the MP and connects using HTTPS (we use a PKI cert).
I reinstalled the MP by deleting the role, waiting, rebooting, adding it back.
What else can I do? I'm thinking I'll try installing CU5.
So in short the client no longer completely installs, which prevents any WSUS updates or Software from being installed post OSD.

I only see errors under 3 components:
SMS_NETWORK_DISCOVERY:
Network Discovery failed to connect to a DHCP server due to a connection error. (Network Discovery can communicate only with Microsoft DHCP servers; if you do not use these servers, you can ignore this error.)
Solution: If you are using Microsoft DHCP servers, then refer to the specific error string for details. This error message means that fewer clients and networks will be found than otherwise. Note that this message will not be generated again during this Network Discovery session, regardless of how often the error occurs.
SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER:
Management Point encountered an error when connecting to the database CM_SITECODE on SQL Server sccmDatabase.domain.local. The OLEDB error code was 0x80004005.
Possible cause: The computer running SQL Server is turned off, not connected to the network, or not functioning properly.
Solution: Verify that the SQL Server is turned on, connected to the network, and functioning properly.
Possible cause: Management point does not have sufficient access rights to the database.
Solution: Verify that management point computer account or the Management Point Database Connection Account is a member of Management Point Role (msdbrole_MP) in the SQL Server database.
Possible cause: Network problems are preventing the management point from properly accessing the SQL Server.
Solution: Investigate and correct any problems with your network.
Possible cause: The management point having problems is at a secondary site, and SQL access account being used was recently reset by the parent site.
Solution: This can automatically repair itself after one hour , as long as the account in use is not locked out. Check that the account in use is not locked out. Instead of waiting an hour, you can stop and start the SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER service to immediately apply the new configuration.
Possible cause: The SQL Server Service Principal Names (SPNs) are not registered correctly in Active Directory
Solution: Ensure SQL Server SPNs are correctly registered. Review Q829868.
Then when I attempt the SCCM upgrade I see a lot of USMT and Boot Images fail to upgrade:

I would appreciate your support to help me figure out if this problem is solvable.
The error comes about whilst trying to download certain apps from the app store, including CSR Racing which when i tap on install a message box pops up saying "This App Is Incompatible With This iPod touch", another time for a different app it came up with a message saying "This app requires OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics capability.
Main questions:
What was achieved from the latest forces iPod touch 2g update (17/07/2012)?
solvable problem(s)?
Will i need to buy a more recent model of iPod touch if this isnt fixable?
ps. My iPod has lasted me 3 years so far so i am not suprised, still in good nick!

I downloaded GB (unaware of the awfulness that is v10) from the App Store. The fact that v10 does not have all my favorite and most used effects from v6, I uninstalled v10 and redownloaded v6 from my App Store Purchases. I load up v6 only to find that all the default effects are there for each instrument, but when I go to add an effect (i.e. Distortion, Vocal Transformer, Flanger, etc.), instead of the list of classic effects, there's the list of awful AU effects from v10. What gives?!

For me, the "Edit" panel in GB6.0.5 looks like this:
Are you saying, that the upper part with "GarageBand Effects" is missing?
Then check, what is installed in your System Library in the folder
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/
(the topmost "Library" folder on your Hard Drive.
You may need to restore the old GarageBand effects and Track settings files from your backup:
i.e look into the folder /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Plug-In Settings/
and restore the settings for Chorus, Flanger, Vocal Transformer, Tremolo, whatever effects you are missing.
And also look for missing files in "Track Settings" folder and "Sampler" folder.
What kind of backup do you have? If you have a Time MAchine backup, go back in time to the time before you upgraded to GB 10.

I don’t have this issue, but I am looking to learn about which parts of the old GarageBand can safely migrate to the new GarageBand 10.

What was used to get the great coloring - very bright/sauturated? Was iT saturation of certain colors only?
The very orange horizon/sunset effect?
The clothes 'falling' of the actress while she is walking, changing into other clothes
Clothes falling of her when she is getting out of the car
This is really a great promo and as a novice After Effects user, I would love to know how these were created (what effects/plugins/etc).

Elaborate color correction.
The clothes 'falling' of the actress while she is walking, changing into other clothes
Clothes falling of her when she is getting out of the car
Green screen shooting, 3D matchmoving, 3D animation, corrective warping, morphing and masking.
All of these are advanced techniques which you won't be able to pull of on your own, even if you had worked with AE for years already. This requires a qualified team and a lot of planning and involves much more than just throwing on a few effects on possibly poorly shot footage...

How to wait until all components painted?

Hi - I have searched for hours for an answer to this and have yet to find something so any help is much appreciated!
Ive posted some code below to simulate the problem im facing. This is a simple frame which has a couple of custom jPanels embedded within it.
When this is run, the first 3 lines i see are:         I want this comment to be the last thing output
        Now finished panel paint
        Now finished panel paintBut, as this output suggests, i want the "I want this comment to be the last thing output" line to be displayed after the two panels are completely painted on the screen (in real life i need to know my components are displayed before the program can move on to further processing). Of course, if you cause a repaint you see the "now finished panel paint" each time, but im not interested in this, im simply interested in how to overcome this when the frame is first created and shown.
Ive tried everything i can think of at the "// ***** What do i need to put here? ******" position but nothing seems to work... In short my question is how can i construct my frame and get it to ensure that all components are fully displayed before moving on?
Sorry if the answer to this is obvious to someone who knows these things, but its driving me mad.

When doing the "Runnable runnable = new Runnable(){public void run(){ frame1.paint(frame1.getGraphics());....." method i sometimes see

As for making a new Runnable to do the system.err.println and then doing the SwingUtilities(invoke) on that runnable, that didnt work for me at all.
So... in the end, my solution was to have the paint method set a boolean when finished and the main program sleep while this is false

I will change IP address on server that Oracle Enterprise Manager(OEM) is reside on what effect that occured on OEM when change IP address. What things need to be modified such as configuration files ,etc.

trying to help Tom answer some of your questions. he may has better answer
1. Hosts file that you told are keep in client or
server(and what path?)it's a file for your OS to resolve hostname into IP address.
in unix it's usually under /etc/hosts
in windows it's under
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
filename is lmhosts
You don't really need the file if you use DNS, this lead to second question
2. What is the DNS ,Agent?DNS -> domain name server
It's a server help your resolve domain name, hostnames into IP address. So you can just type www.oracle.com to goto Oracle website instead of 141.146.8.66
DNS is not a single server on big network, especially internet. there are many servers and also DNS agent to help you get quick naming resolution. When server is updated the change need to be populated to other servers and agents.
3. Why is the reinstall OEM?maybe Tom want to change his server's hostname?
Like he said, OEM identify server by hostname not ip address, so you are safe to change IP address only. No need to reinstall

We have some Maintenance order (IW31) that follows this behavior.
1. For the plant "AAAA", for EACH component in the order the system generates ONE Purchase Requeriment, it means, 5 componentes = 5 Purchase Requeriments.
2. For the plant "BBBB", for all components in the order the system generates ONLY one purchase requeriment, it means, 5 components = 1 Purchase Requeriment.
What does generate this different behavior? How (and where) can I configure that always all the orders follow the 2nd behavior? Is it part of PM or PU configuration?

SGEN through all components does not help preventing compiling

We run SGEN through all components after applying basis support packages.
However the system is still compiling. What could be the reason? Did anyone encounter tha same problem? How to solve this?
