Lightroom 2.7 update error

Question

Tried installing LR 2.7 update, but got error 1310 & 1304.  Could not access C:\Program Data\Adobe.......
Made sure that permissons were open on that file, but same error message.

I have a workaround for this problem.
1. Rename your previous version of C:\ProgramData\Adobe to something like C:\ProgramData\AdobeOld.
2. Run "Install Lightroom 2.7.exe" as before (assuming you also tried previously -- personally I ran it as Administrator to be sure, too).
3. The installation should now work, and it will create a new C:\ProgramData\Adobe for you.
4. Merge (move) the contents (not the entire folder) of the new C:\ProgramData\Adobe into your C:\ProgramData\AdobeOld, as you'll want the new files.
5. Delete the now empty C:\ProgramData\Adobe.
6. Finally, rename C:\ProgramData\AdobeOld back to C:\ProgramData\Adobe.
To be safe, you might like to keep copies of both your old C:\ProgramData\Adobe and the new 2.7 version in case anything goes wrong, though my Adobe folder is ~1GB, so it may not trivial to leave around depending on how much space you have. This folder contains your licensing information, so it's important to preserve else you'll have to re-register.
What's happening in the above is simply creating a temporary writable version of the Adobe folder for the installer to use, then manually merging the newly installed files from the temporary folder into the old folder, and finally replacing the temporary folder with the updated original.
This cured my scenario. Hopefully it will help others here.
