Hi,
Assuming the item is named P1_TEXT then:
SELECT * FROM TBL WHERE COL LIKE '%' || :P1_TEXT || '%'Mike

    i would like some input from other users and if you are having an trouble typing on the keyboard.
    freezes or anything else. resets or bugs.
    <Edited by Host>

    ok it just did it again so it is definitely not emoji.
    i am trying to pay attention to exactly what happens and when it does what key i am pushing.
    i just happened twice and the first time was on the letter "o" and the second time on the letter "i". i have tried to fat finger the return and send and back buttons to see if that had something to do with it and nothing. if you fat finger send well it sends the text lol. i even intentionally touched in the texting space right above the letter i and o too see if i am touching the text space and causing it. it does nothing. it seems to happen when i am typing really fast. very annoying... this never happened on my 3g or any of my 4 3GS phones...
    i guess i will do a full restore tonight and see if that ends the problem. i will not put emoji back on for a while to be sure it is not that program.
    if anyone else has experienced this then hit me up on here and let me know. i am not sure about this new phone but on my last one the keyboard would start to freeze up and pretty much stop typing if i went for to many days without turning the phone off and restarting it. restart seems to fix it.
    edit ~ ya its doing it bad now... did it on letter "y" this time.... seems to happen on the top row of keys. i just restored this phone from previous phones backup so i will wipe it and do a full install. hopefully that fixes it. maybe the OS got corrupted somehow.

  • WORKFLOW PROCESS IS NOT WAITING FOR USER INPUT LIKE RE-ASSIGN FUNCTION

    I am using Stand alone Workflow 2.6, In my workflow process
    which is an Issue tracking system which is working fine. On Enhancement I would like to create my own RE-ASSIGN function which will, Change the ownership of an issue totally to other user.
    For this I Created a package(CHANGE_OWNER.CREATE)which will show list of Users and Comment field(Just like Re-Assign).
    Here user can pick other user, and add comment,
    once submit for that Item key I am updating the workflow notification table so that paritcular issue ownership will be changed.

    Hi Bala
    What enhancements were you adding to the Workflow Reassign/Delegate feature, which included being able to add comments? A good idea is to look for any differences between how workflow implements the reassign feature, and your customization.
    Also, make sure you only use the Public documented PL/SQL APIs and do not update the tables directly to ensure no Support or Upgrade Issues.
    Cheers

  • How to make Flash to wait for user input

    Hi,
    I found this PHP script, then I made some changes to make it
    FEED the Flash user interface with online user input.
    The main concept of this script is WAITING for user input, so
    it shows the messages and then go to next line and so on.
    The user input go to directly to TEXT file which writes in
    lines, each line has a unique id = (mag_id).
    There "get_msge.php" which works as the middleware between
    FLASH and messages text file.
    The problem, its doesn’t show any data while there are
    data in the text file.
    Help here please, best regards.
    This is the link of
    problem illustartion
    AS is:
    // create an object to store the variables
    varReceiver = new LoadVars();
    // load the variables from the text file
    varReceiver.load("get_msg.php?file_id=1&msg_id=1",
    "POST");
    // trigger something - when the variables finish loading
    varReceiver.onLoad = function(){
    //the variables have finished loading
    if (this.msg_id == 1) {
    _root.xmsg1_swf.text = this.msg;
    _root.xmsg1_ch.text = this.msg;
    gotoAndPlay("line2");
    } else {WAIT }
    PHP is:
    <?php
    //get these values from the FLASH
    $file_id_swf = $_POST ['file_id'];
    $file_name = "messages/messages".$file_id_swf.".txt";
    $msg_id_swf = $_POST ['msg_id'];
    // [0] ."||".[1] ."||".[2] ."||". [3] ."||".[4]."||". [5].
    //$msg_id."||".date."||".time."||".$from."||".$to."||".$msg.
    $fp = fopen ($file_name, 'rb');
    while (!feof ($fp))
    $msg_txt = fgets ($fp, 1024);
    $line = explode ("||", $msg_txt);
    $msg_id = $line[0];
    $from = $line[3];
    $to = $line[4];
    $msg = utf8_encode ($line[5]);
    if ($msg_id == $msg_id_swf)
    echo
    "msg_id=".$msg_id."&from=".$from."&to=".$to."&msg=".$msg;
    }//while
    fclose ($fp);
    ?>

    Well, given the things that you've written, I don't think it
    could. There technically isn't any code in flash that lets it
    "wait." In order to "wait," you must run the script over again
    until some condition is met.
    However, your code does look accurate. Why do you need to
    wait? The onLoad function will be invoked WHEN something is loaded.
    So, I don't see the reason for the "waiting."
    In addition to that, I would like to say that using text
    files isn't that great with flash. I have done this before and
    noticed several problems with using text files. The biggest problem
    is that the text files are cached after being loaded. Every time
    you re-load it again, you will get what you got the first time
    until you reset your cache (ie. close your browser). I suggest
    using MySQL. (Just my thought.)

  • How can I pass dynamic value as a user input parameter in discoverer?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement for a discoverer report like this: The report will display only details for Suppliers that have expired (or soon to be) Insurance details. That is the Expiration Date is less than or equal to the day the report is being run plus any days specified in the Number of Days in the Future Parameter.
    The sample code as:
    SELECT s.segment1 vendor_number
    ,s.vendor_name
    ,flv1.meaning classification
    ,pca.certificate_number
    ,pca.certifying_agency
    ,pca.expiration_date
    ,flv2.meaning status
    FROM ap_suppliers s
    ,pos_bus_class_attr pca
    ,fnd_lookup_values flv1
    ,fnd_lookup_values flv2
    WHERE pca.vendor_id = s.vendor_id
    AND flv1.lookup_code = pca.lookup_code
    AND flv1.lookup_type = pca.lookup_type
    AND flv2.lookup_code = pca.class_status
    AND flv2.lookup_type = 'POS_BUS_CLASS_STATUSES'
    AND pca.expiration_date <= trunc(sysdate) + <No. of Days in the Future>
    order by pca.expiration_date asc
    Now the parameter is Number of Days in the Future (Enter the number days in the future to extract the data. This will default to 0).
    Is it possible in discoverer to do so as in query i do that like a condition as pca.expiration_date <= trunc(sysdate) + <No. of Days in the Future>.
    How can I pass <No. of Days in the Future> as a user input parameter in discoverer?
    Please help.

    Hi,
    All you need to do is to create the condition in the discoverer instead of in the query.
    Create a custom folder containing the following sq (note that i removed the condition)l:
    SELECT s.segment1 vendor_number
    ,s.vendor_name
    ,flv1.meaning classification
    ,pca.certificate_number
    ,pca.certifying_agency
    ,pca.expiration_date
    ,flv2.meaning status
    FROM ap_suppliers s
    ,pos_bus_class_attr pca
    ,fnd_lookup_values flv1
    ,fnd_lookup_values flv2
    WHERE pca.vendor_id = s.vendor_id
    AND flv1.lookup_code = pca.lookup_code
    AND flv1.lookup_type = pca.lookup_type
    AND flv2.lookup_code = pca.class_status
    AND flv2.lookup_type = 'POS_BUS_CLASS_STATUSES'
    Then create a discoverer report using this folder using all fields.
    Create a new calculation as (use this exact syntax):
    Sysdate + :No_of_Days_in_the_Future
    Create a new condition:
    pca.expiration_date <= <your calculation>
    To complete it add a sort as you did in the SQL.
    That's it.

    how to add column dynamically based on from_date to to_date?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Chris Jerome.

    You cannot add columns dynamically. But you can define a maximum number of numbers and then hide unused columns in your form useing SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(..,VISIBLE, PROPERTY_FALSE);

  • Asking for user input in the middle of a function

    Here's my issue.
    I need to launch and input window in the middle of a function for user input.  Before I can continue through the function I need a response back from the user first.  Psuedo code below:
    function
         function begins
         pop up window is launched to ask for user input
         function continues after users submits input
         user input from pop up window is used in function return value
    Let me know if you need more clarification but this is essentially what I'm attempting to do.

    The way actionScript works it isn’t really designed to work that way
    Is there any reason why you have to only use one function as you have written
    I think you really do need to split up your code into sections that a, set up the pop-up with  event listeners waiting for the input to be completed, trigger the pop up with user input, then have a handler function that then interprets the results of the user action.
    Trying to force the system into a closed loop while waiting will be a bad idea.
    By using a pop-up or an alert window that is set to be modal, you are effectively stopping your application doing anything else until the user input has been completed, but still not locking the app into a closed loop. Imagine what would happen if you did put the system into a closed loop, the mouse movement wouldn’t be updated, the screen wouldn’t refresh and the system wouldn’t be able to handle your user input. the reason for using async model is you are able to let the system still do all its background task (move the mouse, give inputs focus, keep the screen drawn etc) but still tell a part of your app to ‘wait for input’ before carrying on it execution of your logic
    Do you come from another programming language? Maybe one that uses less of an OOP approach? I only ask, as the method you are describing is much more like how I had to program when  I worked on computers years ago as an assembly programmer.
    In actionscript and most other modern languages and Oss you don’t have total control of the system and cant lock it into an action as you describe.
    You need to have an asynchronous approach to situations like you describe and let the system run in the back ground while you are waiting for input (or date from a server for that matter)
    Please excuse me if I am telling you things you already know.
    What exactly is your use case for this? Maybe if we knew exactly what you are working on I might be able to offer a solution that would make sense for your particular situation.
    Hope all is going well and please feel free to contact me if you are stuck

  • Taking user input in a PL/SQL block

    Can someone tell me if it is possible to to take user input from within a PL/SQL loop? I mean I want that for each iteration in the loop, the program first take user input, and then based on that input, it perform specific operations. Then it repeats this process for each subsequent iteration of loop.
    If it is not possible in PL/SQL, is there any other alternative?
    Thanks.

    > I'm afraid I have no idea how to get the server to ask questions of the user,
    especially when it essentially operates in a kind of batch mode.
    Yep. To expand a tad on what Hans mentioned here.
    To accept input, the process needs to be able to read from this input device. Let's make it a keyboard. The PL/SQL process needs to read keyboard input.
    The keyboard is attached to a PC 1000km away in a branch office. The Oracle server process, running on a server in the data centre, executes this PL/SQL code.
    So now this PL/SQL process has to automagically hack its way across the network. It needs to remove the keyboard plug from that client PC. It somehow must get that keyboard rewired, across that 1000km, into the server platform at the data centre. And only then can the Oracle server process running that PL/SQL code read from that keyboard input device and accept user input.
    It is important, when developing in Oracle, to grasp just what client-server is and how it works. And not to confuse something like a SQL*Plus Client Process (submitting PL/SQL code) with the Oracle Server Process (parsing and executing that submitted PL/SQL code).

  • Adobe form created in LiveCycle does not remember user input

    Adobe form created in LiveCycle does not remember user input when the file has been re-opened after it has been saved.
    Example:
    "Check box" that has been selected and who have registered Action script (may be that it should be disabled), seems to be reset when the file is re-opened, although it apparently is checked.
    Are there settings or script that can prevent this?

    Hi there,
    usually if the values are not kept in form after saving and re-opening the form, it would be because of your code... or because it is not Reader Extended PDF...
    If your code has a function which is to return a value to your field without it to be working based on your Design, it will reset any data..(variables)
    Which means...
    e.g.: You have an array/var/JSONobject which you populate varying on the data entered in the design, as long as you are in the actual form, without closing and re-opening the form, it will keep all values inside that array / variables / JSONobject. But, once the form closed and re-opened, if you have a function that returns a value to your field, whatever the field, from any variable in the script it will return nothing because every variables are reset. To avoid such a thing, you must repopulate all variables that were assigned previously before closing the PDF Form. To do so, I recommend to have a page(hidden) which contains every important values according to that function and you must repopulate those variables according to the values in the keepVar page...
    If you do not have any function that returns a value to a field based on your variables, this is not the solution you are looking for and I am not aware of the reason why it behaves like this... Maybe more information on the behaviour of your form would help locate the issue...
    Hope this help

  • Capturing and displaying user input in Crystal Reports

    Hi all,
    Iu2019m creating a crystal report with SAP as data-source and want to capture user input and display it on the report.  I have defined parameters to capture the input and added them to the report header.   I have then created formula fields to capture user input using the JOIN statement to accommodate multiple values.   Everything works well when users enter values for all the parameters, but when they leave some blank I get an error message u201CParameter value is nullu201D.
    Has anyone encountered this type of problem;  Anyone knows how to resolve this?

    Hi
    In parameter window make the Optional prompt to True.  And change make change in your record selection formula like this :
    (not HasValue({?PrjMgr@SELECT Firstname,lastname FROM OHEM}) OR
    ISNULL({?PrjMgr@SELECT Firstname,lastname FROM OHEM}) OR
    ({?PrjMgr@SELECT Firstname,lastname FROM OHEM} = '') OR
    {OHEM.firstName} = {?PrjMgr@SELECT Firstname,lastname FROM OHEM})

  • How to restrict the user input textfield to an Integer?

    Hello there;
    Here is my problem, and i need your help.
    I have a mssql 2005 server as my back end database;
    I have designed a web application from which i can load a specific table in my database.
    One of my table column is of integer type and i want to restrict the user to only entered an integer in the textfield.
    I have try the integer converter from the "converters" section of the pallete. The result is that its actually restrict the user input to be an integer, but i can't load the database, obtaining a java.lang.Int error message.
    Next i have tried using int theid=int.parseInt........ but i am receiving a syntax error of the type cannot find symbol parseInt.
    I can't just work this out!
    Could anybody help please.

    As has been stated in previous replies you can check that the value in the TextField is parseable as an Integer by using Integer.parseInt(fieldVariable.getText()). However, you can also restrict what characters can be entered into the text field, like so:
    Assume your field variable is textField1 then the KeyTyped event for the text field:
    private void textField1KeyTyped(java.awt.event.KeyEvent evt) {
         if (evt.getKeyChar() < '0' || evt.getKeyChar() > '9') {
              evt.consume();
    }will only allow the numeric characters (i.e., 0-9) to be typed into the field. Keep in mind that in this case the backspace, delete, home, arrow, etc, keys will not delete characters, move the cursor, etc, so if you want those you have to test for them as well.

  • How to accept user inputs from  sql script

    I want to create Tablespace useing sql script , but the location of the data file I need accept from user . (to get the location of the data file ) .
    How can I accept user input from pl/sql .
    Example :
      CREATE TABLESPACE  TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
         DATAFILE 'H:\ORACLE_DATA\FRSDB\TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf'
         SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
         EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL;here I need to accept location of the datafile from user ie : 'H:\ORACLE_DATA\FRSDB\TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf'

    Hi,
    Whenenever you write dynamic SQL, put the SQL text into a variable. During development, display the variable instead of executing it. If it looks okay, then you can try executing it in addition to displaying it. When you're finished testing, then you can comment out or delete the display.
    For example:
    SET     SERVEROUTPUT     ON
    DECLARE
        flocation     VARCHAR2 (300);
        sql_txt     VARCHAR2 (1000);
    BEGIN
        SELECT  '&Enter_The_Path'
        INTO    flocation
        FROM    dual;
        sql_txt :=  'CREATE TABLESPACE SRC_TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
         DATAFILE' || flocation || ' "\SRC_TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf" ' || '
         SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
         EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL ';
        dbms_output.put_line (sql_txt || ' = sql_txt');
    --  EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_txt;
    END;
    /When you run it, you'll see something like this:
    Enter value for enter_the_path: c:\d\fubar
    old   5:     SELECT  '&Enter_The_Path'
    new   5:     SELECT  'c:\d\fubar'
    CREATE TABLESPACE SRC_TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
         DATAFILEc:\d\fubar
    "\SRC_TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf"
         SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE
    UNLIMITED
         EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL  = sql_txt
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.This makes it easy to see that you're missing a space after the keyword DATAFILE. There are other errrors, too. For example, the path name has to be inside the quotes with the file name, without a line-feed between them, and the quotes should be single-quotes, not double-quotes.
    Is there some reason why you're using PL/SQL? In SQL, you can just say:
    CREATE TABLESPACE SRC_TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
    DATAFILE  '&Enter_The_Path\SRC_TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf'
    SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL;though I would use an ACCEPT command to given a better prompt.
    Given that you want to use PL/SQL, you could assign the value above to sql_txt. If you need a separate PL/SQL variable for flocation, then you can assign it without using dual, for example:
    DECLARE
        flocation     VARCHAR2 (300)     := '&Enter_The_Path';The dual table isn't needed very much in PL/SQL.

          tAreaUp.setEditable(false);
          tAreaUp.append("I am testing ");
          tAreaUp.append("I am testing");
           JScrollPane scrollPane = new JScrollPane(tAreaUp);
           scrollPane.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(
                            JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS);
           scrollPane.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(250, 250));
          tAreaDown =new JTextArea(2,1);
          tAreaDown.setLineWrap(true);
          tAreaDown.setWrapStyleWord(true);
          tAreaDown.addActionListener(new TextAreaHandler());
          JScrollPane scrollPane2 = new JScrollPane(tAreaDown);
          scrollPane2.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(
                            JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS);
          container.add( scrollPane, layout.CENTER );
          container.add( scrollPane2, layout.SOUTH );
          setSize( 300, 300 );
          setVisible( true );
         //private inner class for event handling
         private class TextAreaHandler implements ActionListener{
              //process textArea events
            public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
               strings=e.getActionCommand();
                System.out.println(strings);
       public static void main( String args[] )
          PanelDemo application = new PanelDemo();
          application.setDefaultCloseOperation( JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
    }

    Thanks for your help, but I still got a question for you.
    Do you think the way I register the even handler to the TextArea is correct?
    Because the compailer complains about that which like
    "D:\101\fig13_27\PanelDemo.java:43: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol  : method addActionListener (PanelDemo.TextAreaHandler)
    location: class javax.swing.JTextArea
          tAreaDown.addActionListener(new TextAreaHandler());

  • Email notification User Input property

      I have query results from service request as part of user input into Service Request and processing them in Orchestrator.
      As a part of email notification, I would like to display the same query results as part of body of email notification.
      Query results are displayed as part of User Input in Service Request
      In email notification I am able to display all fields of service requests except User Input maybe because its inturn a XML value.
      Any suggestion to come across this ?
    Shahid Roofi

    I am assuming that you are sending the email notification as HTML, in that case the "User Input" will be filtered as it starts with < and ends with > (HTML notification will filter the context between <...>)
    You have to use a PS script in Orchestrator to get the query results only from the "User Input" without all the junk info between <...> then return that using Published Data tab so you will be able to use it in the runbook activities such
    as the email activity.
    Do you have a working example of how to do what you describe?  I am trying to accomplish the same thing and having alot of difficulty coming up with a proper solution.  Any help is appreciated!
