Do you want those records that have p_project_name in the project_name? At the start of the project_name? At the end of the project_name? None of the above?

I am trying to load some signature ascii data from load file. so i wrote the code like below in my controal file to load that to database. For SIGN_IMAGE in oracle db it was mentioned as RAW(2000). The below is worked fine when i tried in window and oracle 8i environment.

Could any one tell me what is exactly the problem? i am not able sort out the issue.

Flex - Session like variable ?

hi all,
Is there a way to store a valriable in flex?( like a session in java/php).
I am doing flex& Java integration but i need to store variable(var username:String in login page) in flex application.
And I need to access user name in other pages also.And I need to get username from login to other components.I dont need to do cross cutting.that mean one component acess other component.but i need to do it in loosly couple manner..
Can Anyone have sugessions?Any respones are appreciated...

Variables of one task is getting messed up with other tasks

Hi,
I have one workflow (one subworflow is getting called by this workflow) which is using some global variables. The problem is that when more than one users are making simultaneous requests (not neccessarily at same time), values of global variables of one request are getting messed up with other's requests. Even at start of workflow I am assigning null value to these variables. I am using IdM 7.0. Can anyone provide any clue on this?

I am using a variable like "comments" and assigning null at start of the workflow like

</Variable>
Value of comments are cached somehow and in other request, when other user is opening the same form for making request, it is getting displayed in comment field. I have tried all the way of making null to this variable, but no luck. And it is not happening all time, it is intermittent and happens only in few cases.

Is it possible to use a variable in the name of other variables?

Trying to avoid a long post; is there some command in Java that would allow a variable to be read before the rest of the statement it is in?
For example, using a pair "@" to encapsulate a variable with the mystery command I'm looking for:

So that this application would create an integer named "A_Status" and assign it a value of 0. Obviously, I'm not looking to be told that "int A_Status = 0" is the best way to do that, I'd like "variable" to be able to be defined by input or change somehow in the code. I have a gut feeling that this is impossible due to the compiler, but I'd like a more professional opinion. Anyone?

The variable "name" is a lot less important than you think. In fact, when your code is compiled, the computer doesn't care one jot about the name of the variable.
You should not worry about trying to do this, but rather should tell us the reason why you would even want this. If we knew that, we could show you a better way, guaranteed.

Using a variable inside another variable

I'm trying to use one two variable in a package with one variable feeding its value to another variable as follows:
Variable 1 = Count
Variable 2 = File_Name
Variable 1 counts up from 1;I would like to use this value as an input to Variable 2 as follows:

I have also noticed that the value of Variable 1 is not being passed to the Select statement above through SQLServer Profiler. If I hard-code the value of #DIMSTATS_TEST.count (Variable1) the query is successful.
How can I get the value of Variable 1 to be passed to Variable 2?

Text arrays (variables) and Dynamic Text Box

Hello everyone. I have a text file (let's call it sample.txt)
that has numerous variables or arrays in this format:
&info=This is some information
&stuff=This is more stuff
&whatever=Even more stuff again....
Anyway, I need to load a particular variable via individual
buttons from this same sample.txt file into a dynamic text box
(let's call it dynText), and I am a bit lost as to how to do it.

Passing TestStand Variable to Database Options field

I seem to be having an issue with a non-optimized database query possibly because of a TestStand limitation or my limited knowledge of TestStand, probably the latter. What is currently happening is a custom type logs its data through a statement setup in the Database Options. This statement has a primary key reference and grabs that primary key from a recordset returned by this query:
"SELECT id FROM step_result order by date_time desc limit 1".
This query can take around 30 seconds or longer to run which is way too long for a database query returning 1 row.
What I'd like to do is change that query, inside of the Database Options, to utilize a StationGlobals variable which will drastically speed this query up.
I'm doing the same query, with proper WHERE clauses, in another place (as a work-around solution to this same problem, which may be reverted if I fix this problem) and it is laid out as followed:
"SELECT id FROM step_result where uut_result=\""+ StationGlobals.UUT_Result_ID +"\" order by date_time desc limit 1"
I need that query to be run, with that variable, in the database options statement. Is this possible to do in TestStand? The problem I've seen so far is that the "Command Text" entry for the "Get Value from Recordset" doesn't like variables and string concats. Am I missing something obvious?

The way our database is designed, this involves 3 different tables:
step_result - ID Primary kefield
meas_mul_numericlimit - ID primary key, foreign key of step_result ID field
meas_mul_numericlimit_info - Primary and foreign key for step_result ID field
A "parent" row is added into the step_result table, if the step type is of MultipleNumericLimitTest, a row is added into the m_m_n_i to hold graphing information and the actual data is inserted into the m_m_n table.
The MNLT step type uses the query to get the ID of the last entered step_result for the m_m_n_i table to setup the proper relationship. The problem is we need a specific s_r ID for everything to work properly. Obviously the Type definition is a "post processing" method as it can get the current step's ID from the database. The problem is that query isn't optimized and sorting 500k rows is incredibly slow.
The other problem, which I used a workaround on, dealt with a similar yet different situation.
In our Main sequence file, we had a sequence which would establish graphing features for tests whose measurements are spread across different "parents"/steps. We would establish the m_m_n_i information and then associations for a graph_parent field. What I did in that case was, create the association, then using normal SQL steps, gather the ID field and then update the ID for the graph_parent. Since this process was done pre-tests/measurements, I had the luxury to be able to do these steps outside of the database options field. In the other case though, its mid-test and based on measurements so I can't do the same workaround.
One thing I was wondering also is, in the processing of the custom type, is there a way to access the ID of the currently being processed step? If there was a variable for that, then I could just use the expression field.

In your second code statement:
abc.mnp = @variable('BOUSER'))
I can see a second parantheses. You would need to delete the second right parantheses-something like:
abc.mnp=@variable ('BOUSER')
In your first code statement, I think the @variable cannot be used within inverted commas since it would end up treated as a string. You need to create a final string that would concatenate the '%' symbols for you.
Off the top of my head, can you please check if this syntax works:
abc.xyz LIKE concat('%',concat(@variable('BOUSER'),'%'))

Session member variable usage

I want to keep client-specific information for each incoming connection, but i heard it cannot be done with session variable. i read in a book that session variables in a servlet (or scriptlet section of a jsp page) are shared among all incoming threads (therefore all clients) accessing the servlet.
I guess a simple example of what i want to acheive is a shopping cart, but keeping the shopping cart order in a session-like variable specific to the original client machine/user who placed the order.
I thought of doing something like:
request.getSession().setAttribute("ShoppingCart", cart);
inside my doGet() method in a servlet. And a book author says it won't work. He says ff I use a member to keep information about user1, sometimes the session variable may be overwritten by user2 if they are accessing the servlet at the same time.
1) Can someone confirm whether session variables are shared among all incoming requests to the same servlet?
2) If so, how can i easily keep track of incoming user/client mahcine-specific information, without using cookies or other client-side storage methods.
3) If client side storage is necessary (to keep user info), what are the common techniques and the classes used?

Session scope is made to save the user specific information only. All class(servlet) level members(state) can be shared by all incoming thread. So its a bad practice, if we used class level session variable which stores the client specific info.
I dont think session will overwritten if you used session var locally(inside any method).
When any user logs in you should create a new session for that user.
Means if you have LoginServlet.java file which have log in functionality, Here only you need to create new session.
HttpSession session = request.getSession();
Other than this file every where you need to use
request.getSeission(false);
In your case it would be
request.getSession(false).setAttribute("ShoppingCart", cart);
