Link to popup window not working

I have a calendar page in which I'm setting up a column link to another page within the app.
However, I have some syntax error in the javascript popup statement. I have tried many things, but cannot find what the problem is.
This works (no popup):
f?p=&FLOW_ID.:43:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P43_ACT_ID:#ACT_ID#
This does not work (popup):
(I left off the initial < so the text would not be converted to html)
a href ="javascript:popUp2('f?p=&FLOW_ID.:43:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P43_ACT_ID:#ACT_ID#',500,400)" >#ACT_DESC#</a>
Does anyone see what's wrong with this syntax?
When I run it (click on the link), I receive this error msg:
"Bad Request The HTTP client sent a request that this server could not understand."
Thanks!

Hi Reid,
href="javascript:..." tells the browser to go to the address bar (href) and type in "javascript:....". This won't work!
Change your link to:
a href="#" onclick="javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:43:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P43_ACT_ID:#ACT_ID#',500,400)"href="#" tells the browser not to do anything with the address bar and we are relying on the onclick event itself to call the popup
Also note that you should use &APP_ID. not &FLOW_ID.

    Hi All,
Recently we upgraded from Siebel Analytics to OBIEE 10.1.3.4.
In OBIEE Go to Settings > Administration > Managae Interactive Dashboard > Select any Dashboard > Right Click on Properties tab > Open Link in New window:

In Siebel Analytisc the above functionality used to work.
Does anyone knows thereason behind this?

Get Firebug and inspect the element. You'll see that it actually is this:
    onclick="javascript:saw.runThis
URL('saw.dll?PortalProperties&_scid=To2OnvCVXpY&PortalPath=/shared/paint/_portal/PoC\x2520FINS&Done=ManagePortals\x2526Done\x253dAdmin');return false" href="javascript:void(null)" FF doesn't even give you the "Open..." options and all IE versions as of 7 show them but actually don't do anything when you invoke them.

  • Open Link in New Window not working

Using iWeb 08, I create a new entry on my blog/news page, highlight the text, go to the link tab, paste in a website, make sure 'Link to an External Page' is selected, and put a tick in 'Open Link in New Window'.
When published it opens in the same window. Is this a bug or how can I correct it?

Try redoing your link and, this time, deselect the link on the page and look at the inspector window to see if anything has changed. Then check the 'make hyperlinks active box". Your linked page should open in the browser when you click the link on the iWeb page.
If this is OK do a "publish all to .Mac" and empty your browser cache before visiting your site.

  • Auto sizing popup feature not working in Firefox

I have started using Firefox as my default browser
instead of IE. I just discovered that the popup windows, which I've
linked from an image map on one particular document do not work. In
the following doc, the image has about 35 links to popup windows,
none of which work in Firefox. They do work in IE.
    http://www.stoneedge.com/help/Main_Menu_5.8_Beta.htm
Is this a known issue? I couldn't find reference to it on the
forum, so then I wonder if its a matter of settings. I turned of
Firefox's popup blocker, so that's not it. I do prefer to use the
popup, but if there's no fix, the "Display in Frame" option DOES
work in Firefox, so I'll just have to use that instead.
Any information, fixes, suggestions are much appreciated!

  • Anchor links to accordion panels not working properly across browsers

    Hi everyone,
I need some help to figure out why my anchor links  to specific accordion panels on another page are not working properly  across browsers.
I have a Map page which has tooltips on  mouseover on the site markers. 15 of the tooltips have "Click here for  information" anchor links (although only 14 are currently linked) which,  in theory, would take you to the Nurseries page where the specified  accordion panel would be opened with the nursery entry appearing at the  top of the new browser window.
Here are the links to the Map page and Nurseries page, respectively:
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/map_v6.html
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html
I've  tested the anchor links on IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari, and  have received varying results. In most cases, the anchor links worked  perfectly on two of the browsers, while on the other browsers, the  correct accordion panel is opened but the nursery entry does not appear  at the top of the new browser window. Anchor links using Safari and  Google Chrome fared better (10 out of 14 links worked properly, and  8/14, respectively), whereas when using Firefox and IE, only 3 anchor  links worked properly. The target audience for this website will be  using IE and Firefox, so I  would appreciate any help to figure out how to tweak the code so that  the most, if not all, anchor links work properly on these two browsers  in particular.
Here's an anchor link which worked perfectly in  IE, GC, and Safari, but in FF, the entry did not appear at the top of  the new browser window.
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?luzon=9#mangatarem
http://www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?luzon=9#mangatarem [To access the anchor link on the Map page, mouseover the third green  dot from the top of the map (Tooltip--Location: Mangatarem) and then  click on "Click here for information."]
Here's a sample anchor link in which the entry did not appear at the  top of the new browser window in any of the 4 browsers:
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?mindanao=4#magpetAmabel
http://http://www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?mindanao=4#magpetAmabel [To access the anchor link on the Map page, go to "Mindanao" at the  bottom of the map and mouseover the fourth green  dot below the word "Mindanao" (Tooltip--LOCATION:        Brgys. Amabel, Bongolanon, Imamaling, & Manobisa; Magpet;        North Cotabato) and then  click on "Click here for information."]
Here's a sample anchor  link in which the anchor link worked properly in GC and Safari, but the  entry didn't appear at the top of the browser window in IE and FF:
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?visayas=1#bilar
http://http://www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?visayas=1#bilar [To access the anchor link on the Map page, go to the small island  north and a bit west of "Mindanao" which is called "Bohol" and mouseover  the fourth green  dot below the word "Mindanao" (Tooltip--LOCATION: Bilar; Bohol) and then   click on the first "Click here for information."]
Many thanks in  advance for your assistance!

  • Can't get popup window to work, could use code help.

This is the first time I've tried to open a popup window in
flash, and I can't get it to work. The site I'm building has the
navigation buttons contained in an animated movie clip. All of the
navigation buttons work fine. But there's a link that the company
wants me to add that opens a window to another site who hosts a
video commercial for the company (it has to be a link to the other
site, it can't be added directly to the customers site).
The link the other company sent me is for javascript (I'll
include it in the attached code), and the code works great if I
just insert the javascript in the html. But I wanted to try and get
the link in the Flash menu. I've tried several versions of the
code, from applying it directly to the button to naming an instance
of it and attaching the actionscript in the movie clip. When I'm
done, I get two different problems. On my XP machine, I get a
warning error about the flash trying to open something to another
server. On my Vista machine, nothing happens at all.
Anyway, I'm including the original javascript and several
versions of the actionscript I've tried (with the actual site
information replaced with "fakeurl.com", wasn't sure how these
forums felt about including site info). Any help at all would be
greatly appreciated. I've searched and searched for about a week,
and I'm tempted to just do away with the Flash button and use a
cheesy javascript button for this one link.
    Thanks!

Select your text that you want to act as a trigger to close the window,
just as if you were going to create a link.
Then paste the following line of code into the link Inspector:
    javascript:self.close();
    That should do the trick.

  • Links and photo gallery not working!

    Hi,
I've just created a website by iWeb. After publishing the site in the local folder I've uploaded the entire contents to the server by FTP. From local folder it works fine but while trying to view online, the links between the pages not working (even not visible) at the same time my photo gallery is also not working (not visible). I was using Safari in mac.The same problem occurs while I am trying to browse the site from in my pc (copied the file in a local folder) and using Google Chrome and Internet Explorer
If anyone can tell me what is the possible error?
    Thanks,
    Tarique

From viewing your site it's apparent that not all of the files are being uploaded to the server. Particularly those in the Scripts folder.
Have you opened your locally published site with your browser and checked it out? I think you'll find that the navbar will display correctly on both pages and the rest of the site will properly.
What ftp client are you using to upload the files? If you haven't tried the free Cyberduck client give it a try. Many users have found it to be successful where other clients were having problems.

  • Exceptions in popup blocking not work good

why sub-domains in exceptions in popup blocking not work? if i add a particular subdomain it works, but when i add an star in subdomain to do for all not work:
    *.mihanblog.com
    *.blogfa.com
//// Please add image upload on post feature to Firefox's support ////
//// Also add a suggestion forum to Firefox's support (like Chrome's forums) ////
    Thanks

Do not add a * because Firefox doesn't support wildcard that way.<br />
Just specify the domain to apply the exception to a domains and all sub domains.

  • None of the links or buttons do not works after change the name of the page

    hi,
I made some modifications on the original page and changed its orijinal name LoaSummaryPG to XXLoaSummaryPG. Although all of the components are the same as the orijinal one, none of the links and buttons are not working in the newly copied page. Neither only changing the name LoaSummaryPG to XXLoaSummaryPG nor creating a new page with a name XXLoaSummaryPG did not work.
A page works with no error and the data shown is correct when it opened.
Is it about regionMap.xml? or what can i do?

I can't make any other action in the page. Now, I can only say that al actions in the page except about this page link and personalization link cause this error.

  • SSO UIDPW not working for external Popup Window but works with SAPLOGONTICK

    Dear Experts,
I have an issue with SSO user mapping (UIDPW), but the same scenario is working with SAPLOGONTICKET.
Some list gets displayed in the Web Dynpro ABAP iView which has the hyperlinks where on click on the hyper link it opens a external popup window (another Web Dynpro Application) and display the summary some data.
This scenario works when I set the logon method to SAPLOGONTICKET, but when I set it as UIDPW it won't work when a new window opens on click on the hyperlink from Web Dynpro iView as stated above. It asks to login to R/3 system.
Can anyone please let me know what could be the reason it fails in External Popup window scenario when logon method as UIDPW.
    Thanks
    Murthy

    Hi Murthy,
You can use application integrator iView to integrate your ABAP application into the portal and you'll be able to pass the variables <MappedUser>, <MappedPassword>, etc. assuming you know about the security risks in passing mapped info.
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/en/36/5e3842134bad04e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Still, your ABAPers might need to handle the passed in variables in the first ABAP application and pass them onto the second one.  Again, without knowing how you navigate between the 2 apps and other details about your system landscape, versions, etc. this remains as a guess.  If you search SDN, you'll find many different solutions then you can choose one which is most suitable for your situation.

  • Windows Live Mail ?   Links to this forum not working correctly.

I got a new computer running Windows 7 and have been using Windows Live Mail.
This is where I get my e-mails for updates to messages on this forum.
The link for the message thread has a link that includes the # sign with the correct message to go to on the page.
Now with Windows Live when I click the link it leaves the number after the # sign and just goes to the top of the thread instead to the exact comment.
I can copy and paste the link into a browser and it works fine but if I just click it it does not work like it used to with Outlook Express.
Any ideas if this might be fixable.
    Thanks:  GLenn

I still have outlook express running on my OLD SLOW windows XP
My new Windows 7 only has Windows Live Mail so I have to use it unless I get another program.
I just thought that someone here might have figured it out.
I dont know what the extra part after the # sign is called so i havent been luck searching google for an answer.
Here is the link to your message:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2965072#2965072
but when I click it it just puts this link in the browser:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2965072
it does work but just takes me to the top of the thread.
Im not sure why it doesnt use the part with the # and number that follows it.
It does see it and if hover over it it sees the whole link.
Just something new to figure out.
I will try a Windows Live Forum too but if anyone knows any hints that would be great too.
    Thanks:  GLenn

  • JavaScript popup code not working 4 me

    Hi,
I am to trying to open pop windows in Flash through
JavaScript. Now I found a number of ways to do this on the forums
but none is working for me. When I click the swf button containing
the pop code (embedded in html), nothing happens. I do not have pop
windows blocked, and when I click the button in stand alone swf
file (i.e. not embedded in html), I receive the following error
    message:
Macromedia flash player has stopped a potentially dangerous
operation. The following application on your computer or network

The first was from kirupa.com. The code on the button is:

    Nothing on the root timeline.
Anyone got a clue what’s happening? I was wondering
whether there was problem with settings on my computer? Also, I do
not want to embed JavaScript code in the HTML file.
    Many thanks,
    Essaeyu

What I want to achieve is something very basic, done n times
on the web, but its strange that its not working on my machine. I
am getting popups through getURL function and on HTML links but not
from swf/javascript links. This includes linking both to the
webpages on the internet e.g. google and pages on my machine. I
have tried three different ways of achieving this and am attaching
thecode. Can someone look at the files please and see what’s
wrong/spot something I overlooked? I will be extremely grateful.
Here is the code in the fla's (and html in one case). No
facility to attach files else i would have done so. Though the
flas/swf/html files can be downloaded from:
    http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?p=623694#post623694.
These are three zip files posted by user essaeyu today.
    Many thanks,
    Essaeyu

  • IS_DIRTY dataloss popup is NOT working properly

    Hi Folks,
Issue is not able to get * Data Loss Popup*
I am working with SAP NetWeaver 2004s, and created a webdynpro application using FPM.
I have implimented interfaces in my component: IF_FPM_UI_BUILDING_BLOCK & IF_FPM_WORK_PROTECTION and also used component IF_FPM_UI_BUILDING_BLOCK.
I can able to see the component controller methods: IS_DIRTY & NEEDS_CONFIRMATION
I wrote the logic inside these methods please check below:
    Method: IS_DIRTY
    IF changes are there
    ev_dirty = 'X'.
    endif.
    Method: Needs_confirmation
    CREATE OBJECT lo_confirm_request
    EXPORTING
    it_confirmation_text = lt_str.
    eo_confirmation_request = lo_confirm_request.
    eo_confirmation_request = cl_fpm_confirmation_request=>go_data_loss.
But I am not able to see data loss popup, but I can able to see my whole component showing as external window.
Please suggest me how can I will get dataloss popup  in my webdynpro application.

    Naresh.
