Link to Specific Record in ZAM

My organization would like to create a web page (or an API) that when you
type in an asset tag, it takes you to the zen asset record of that
machine. For example, it would bring up the same data as when I use the
zen asset management web interface and search for a specific machine. If
this doesn't make sense, please let me know.

This should be very possible.
A DB schema was posted for ZAM 7.0 and 7.5, but I am not aware of one
for ZCM. The schema though is basically the same. So it should help.
Are you running ZCM on a ms SQL db or sybase? ms SQL will be a lot
easier to query.

Link from Account record to specific report

Hi,
I have created a single account overview report. Now I want to link from specific account records to that report (embedded analytics).
I have set up the web link but need to change either the link or the report so that it is generated only for the specific account record from where I have clicked the link.
Ideas are highly appreciated.

URL in email to a report on a specific record

Hi - I have setup an email notification process that will send a URL to bring the user back to a report for a specific record. The link is bringing me back to the right page, but there are no results for the report.
How do I go to the page AND run the SQL in my report specific to that record?

Move to specific record

I am building a PHP detail page with a navigation list of
database records down the left side, and the middle will display
info for each of those records, so when one of the links on the
left is clicked, the page reloads and displays the relevent info.
Thing is, it's not doing it! It is still displaying the first
record of the db no matter what record is clicked.
I have a recordset for the navigation list, and I have a
recordset for the content; I have a 'go to detail page' set up on
the navigation recordset which posts to itself, ie. the same page
it is on already, and the url displays the correct record ID; the
page also has a 'move to specific record' behaviour which is based
on the content recordset, but it's not working.
What am I missing? Obviously, I am doing something wrong. Can
I not have content on a detail page where a DB driven link can post
to the same detail page?
Does that makes sense?

Right, I have just built a list page and a detail page to
test this out. I have done this hundreds of times in asp, but it
doesn't seem to be working in php!
1/On the list page I have a list of database records that
link to the detail page.
2/When the link is clicked I have a go to detail page and I
am passing the url parameter of fld_id
3/On the detail page I have the move to sepcific record
behaviour which is collecting the fld_id parameter
Is that not right? Is it handled differently in PHP to how it
should be done in asp?

Where/how can I get the Storage Location (LGORT) for a specific record in table MBEW.

Check MARD Table. The storage location (field LGORT) is linked via check tab T001L to a plant (field WERKS in table T001L)
The plant is linked via table T001W to a valuation area (field BWKEY in table T001W).
The valuation area is used as a key field in table MBEW
By using this link chain you will be able to identiy for a given record in MBEW the accociated storage locations

Link Directly to Record in BSP App

I am using an SAP default BSP application in CRM. It has a search screen on top, Below, that it displays five records. The first record is shown as selected.
I'd like to be able to create a direct link to one of the other records displayed. The application is CRM_CASE, but it is like every other CRM PCUI app in that it has a search screen on top, header / records list next, then details on selcted record.
If anyone as any good ideas for creating a directly link to a specific record, I'd appreciate it.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

Is it possible to disable the 'edit layout' link on the record detail page

Is it possible to disable the 'edit layout' link on the record detail page? Not the homepages, I know there is a switch for that, but I thought there was one for the detail pages?
I want to disable this as I dont want users saving their own layouts, they must stick to the related sections defined in the default layout. The problem is that if they are to have access to certain related lists when an opportunity is of a certain type but NOT other types. If they have saved the layout (using the 'Edit Layout' link), and change the record type, they will see related sections that have been set to 'Not available' in the default layout (ie step 4) for that 'type'.

Robbo, at this time it not possible to disable the Edit Layout on the record detail page.

Here mappings are getting executed by calling a pl/sql procedure. This pl/sql procedure is executed every day by scheduling a dbms_job. After the error, the job is in hanging.
Last week also the same error happened, on that occasion , restarted the database and re submitted the job. Mapping executed without any error.

See Note:125860.1 in metalink (and please, lol to solution #3). It applies to older OWB versions though... Are you using DBMS_JOB or OEM to run these mappings? If so, then the metalink note might be useful help.
Karesz, I believe if the source database was down, it would fail with an ORA-12XXX Error.

Html link to specific photo in flash web export

I want to send someone links to specific images in my flash web export. I know I can direct them to the source image file, but I want them to see it in the flash export interface. Is there a way I can make a duplicate copy of the index.html and edit the start image and save as another name, or would I have to copy and alter the flash file?

You can't do a direct link to the image witht the built-in Flash movie. If you need to do this often, consider getting the SlideShowPro web engine and switching on "permalinks".
But to resolve your existing problem, it is fiddly. I assume you want the rest of the web gallery to work, so copy the index.html file, and then look for a folder called resources\mediaGroupData and make a copy of the file group.xml, so you have two xml files in that folder. What you would need to do is edit this "copy.xml" so it only lists your picture. Then back to your copy of index.html and replace any references to group.xml with copy.xml. I told you it was fiddly!

Linking document info record and purchase order

Hi all,
I hope that someone can help me because I'm having a problem with creating links between document info records and purchase orders.
By default in SAP I can create links between document info record and purchase order ITEMS! When I create that link, I can see it in document info record under Object links tab, but when I double click on the number of purchase order nothing happens (I expected that this purchase order will open).
Why is that so?
Why can't I access purchase order from document info record even though the link exists?
The other question is about creating object links to purchase orders, not purchase order items! Is it possible to link document info record with purchase order?
I would appreciate quick answer because we're in the middle of a project and we're stuck with that problem.

Hi Karlo,
As you mentioned, object links could be linked to Purchase order items. In customisation you maintain these entries under the node SPRO > Cross Application Components> Document Management--> Control Data --> Define Document Types --> Define Object Links.
There are many links in the standard system (possible entries).
The system automatically determines the screen number (dialog box) where the key data for the object is maintained for document maintenance.
You can check the screens when the screen entry is missing or contains errors by doing the following:
Start the Object Navigator and display the objects for the development class CV.
Expand the function group 130. The structure nodescreens lista all screens that can be used for object links.
You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
In the standard system, there are already two special screens for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.
You must create two new screens with the same number for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 .
The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program SAPLVC130.
Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name)
If the object can be classified, this function module already exists .
Otherwise copy the function module for linking equipment DOCUMENT_CHECK_EQUI and change it as required for the new object.

If the newly opened file is a PDF, you should use a "Go to page view" type
link, not an "Open file" action.

Turn a text database search result into a clickable .pdf link to specific images

Hello and Good Afternoon all.
This is baffling me to no end, pretty desperate at this point.
I have a successfully implemented a search and results page from my database table 'products'. The results page displays a field from this table as products, msds, datasheet, description. I would like the msds & datasheet results to be clickable links to files in my images/pdf/msds folder or the images/pdf/datasheet folder.
The links are specific filenames such as msds-product.pdf or datasheet-product.pdf.. How can I get these links to open the exact filename that comes up in my search result? I can make it open the entire folder but I want just the specific file.

It's hard to give more specifics without more detail, but in general you're going to need to read in the entire file, split it into three pieces (everything before the record of interest, the record itself, and everything after the record of interest), modify the record, reassemble the three pieces in proper order, and write the whole thing back to the file.Of course if the file is very large you might not want to actually implement it this way, but conceptually at least, this is what you are looking at.If this file some sort of proprietary format?Mike...PS: this type of issue is why I really like databases...

Permanent link to specific version of a document

When ‘Sharing’ documents is it possible to issue (say for emailing to someone) a permanent link to the document i.e. one which is locked to the version and not one that changes or fails if a new version is subsequently added?
There appears to be two groups of document links in SharePoint, the current version and previous versions.
The current document version is referenced by a canonical path:
http://site/document library/document.doc
A prior document version is referenced from a revision path. But this only works for non-current versions:
http://site/_vti_history/versionID/document.doc (Where versionID is generated by SharePoint)
Therefore every time a new document revision is created the contents of the canonical path will change. The canonical path will point to the new document version while the previous version of the document is only available with the revision path.
Therefore it is not possible to create a permanent link to a version of the document if at the time of issuing it is the current version.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a permanent link to specific version of a document.
If a new version is created, the contents of the canonical path will change. Although the version number will increase, the previous version number will not change.
If you want version 1.0, then the URL for this version will always be
http://site/_vti_history/512/document.doc.
