Linking Additional Email Account (Address)

I received the email with the unique reference number inviting me to link my BT email address to my BT Broadband account.  This I duly did and received a 'Keeping your BT Email Address' confirmation email as expected.
I've had this email account for quite a few years (from back in the dial-up days, if I remember correctly!) and am obviously pleased that I'm able to keep it.
Very nearly 2 years ago I became a BT Broadband customer, and as part of the joining process I was issued a username (BT email address) and password for my account.  I would also like to have the option to keep this additional email address.  However, I'm not quite clear on how I go about this.  Do I :-
1. Wait to receive a further email invitation sent to this other email address with its own unique reference number and act accordingly?
or
2. Assume it will be automatically linked to my Broadband account, after all, it IS the username used for the account?
or
3. Take some other action?
I read on the original email sent to me :-
"If you want to keep any other BT email addresses, you'll need to link those to your broadband, too. Just go to bt.com/linkemail and complete a form for each email address you want to keep."
But I'm sure I read somewhere that an email would be sent out for each additional email account with its own unique reference number!
If I'm supposed to wait until I receive a further email from BT, what is the cut off date by when I'm supposed to have received it?  Is it the 9th or 16th September?
Any chance of one of the moderators coming back with a definitive answer on this, please?

If you login to email account A you should find that account B is now listed as a sub account.
The linking process is just carrying out that process perhaps with other changes that we do not know about.
The email is just catering for other situations eg if account B had sub accounts ( not disposable address's)  these need to be linked as subaccounts of A also.

    This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
    If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
    Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
    There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
    Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.

    I set up my main 'Hotmail' email address in 'Mail' about a year ago but have never used the Mail App since. I now have a 2nd email address (university) and it is hosted through 'Exchange Labs' which is basically Hotmail/MSN I think. I cannot check my emails in each one without logging out and logging in whilst openinging and closing several web pages which is a nuisance.
    I was told I could link these 2 accounts in Mail and would make life easier. However, I went to add an additional account and it's asking me for the server info - (mail.server.com) which I have no idea what Exchange Labs use. I looked at my settings for my Hotmail address and when I was setting it up I used my 'izymail' subscription to make it work. However when I go into Mail, it shows no new emails, or any of my old ones. I think i'll have to play around with it for a few hours before I figure out what's wrong but can anyone offer any advice?

    Unless Hotmail is required under EU law to provide their full service free of charge, you'd have to have a paid Hotmail account to be able to send and receive email with Mail.
    As for the Exchange Labs, that's something your university is doing, so you'd need to call their student computing helpdesk for the settings to enter in Mail to setup your account for that. You can't link these two accounts, but you can have Mail send and receive messages through both accounts individually, assuming you meet the requirements and have them setup properly. It's not hard, you just need to get the necessary info from your university IT department, as well as have POP access to your Hotmail account, which they do charge for in the U.S.

    Are you getting a black screen? If that is the problem launch Firefox, then near the clock there will be a 4 arrow icon, click it and select "Stretch to fill screen" and restart the tablet. This will correct an issue with Android improperly suggesting Zoom to fill screen for Firefox.

    Do you mean the "POP or IMAP" bullet is grayed out?
    If this is the case, please open your registry editor and check if the following registry values exist and the value data is set to 1:
    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options
    Name: DisableIMAP
    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options
    Name: DisablePOP3
    If this is the case, change the value data of the two values to 0 and then test the issue again.
    Please let me know the result.

    i would first suggest you go to an apple store next to you - if there is one of course - and let a genius do the transfer for you, no hassle, quick and painless...

    Hi Eric.  I had previously entered the all the info manually. I was concerned why apple wasn't recognising the email as formatted. But it doesn't matter now as on Monday morning when I opened the email client, an email came through and it all seems to be working now. I guess somebody plugged something in somewhere over the weekend

    As far as adding alternate e-mail addresses to be associated with a single Apple ID, after going through the steps that you mentioned, you should get a verification e-mail each time you add an additional address.
    As Apple states; "Verify your changes by following the link in the e-mail you will receive from Apple and signing into your account."
    Simply stated, it sounds like you are not verifying the new addresses after you enter them.  I am not sure if the verification e-mail goes to the new e-mail address you added, which is likely, or the original, so check both.

    My wife linked her BTinternet email address with her BT broadband account. Subsequently she closed her BT broadband account when she moved house to live with me. She now wants to retain her BTinternet mail account without paying for Prermium Mail by linking her email account to my BTbroadband account.  We have tried to do this using the linking facility provided by BT. In each case we have been told that the linking will occur within 24 hours but it has not.  Now that she has paid her final bill on her own BT account, she has lost access to her email account.
    How do we link her email account to my broadband account so that she can regain access to her emails? Please don't tell me to use the https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/ed​w/email-migration/ facility as it doesn't work!
    We have tried the BT Help Desk on several occasions but despite their promises they have not mangaed the transfer.
