Linking from xml

I saw a post a couple months ago explaining how to place url
links into a product table in the XML file. The posts seem to only
go back so far. Can someone please explain how this is done? So if
I have products in each column, how can I link to an entire html
page displaying that product info? Thank you.
Never mind - I just got it working...

Hi -
Not an answer, but have you looked at your page in Firefox ?

  • Linking from XML Document

    Hi,
    Attached is code from my xml file. This feeds a flash movie
    template. I want visitors to be able to click on an image which
    then takes them to another page to see a slideshow.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I am not a XSLT expert but Tobias wrote some nice blogs about it. Read them here:

    You might want to start with this one:

  • Links from XML

    Hello everybody. I'm working with a XML driven photo gallery
    that looks like this:
    <gallery name="Birthday">
    <image source="pics/pic5.jpg" thumb="pics/th5.jpg"
    title="Agreement"/>
    <image source="pics/pic6.jpg" thumb="pics/th6.jpg"
    title="Landscape"/>
    <image source="pics/pic7.jpg" thumb="pics/th7.jpg"
    title="Face"/>
    <image source="pics/pic8.jpg" thumb="pics/th8.jpg"
    title="Sunset"/>
    <image source="pics/pic9.jpg" thumb="pics/th9.jpg"
    title="My Girlfriend"/>
    </gallery>
    Now, I would need the title to become a link. Could anybody
    help me please?
    Thanks so much

  • Dynamic news page linked from XML

    Basically I'm able to bring HTML into my flash dynamic text
    fields, that's fine.
    But what I WANT to do is have an XML file load all the
    seperate elements into differently formatted video clips.
    I want it displayed HEADER, then DATE then CONTENT, with a
    limit on articles (say 15 a page) in a scrolling content area. I've
    not really played with this side of ActionSCript too much.
    At the moment I have the skeleton of the idea set up, but I'm
    starting to become concerned that I'm on the wrong path... I'm
    kinda stuck about what to do to seperate the elements so that they
    display under each other (obviously each news article will have a
    variable length). An example of this idea can be seen on the NEWS
    page at
    http://www.wolfmother.com.
    This is where I'm at atm, anyone wanna nudge me in the right
    direction?

    Yes actually you can dynamically type variables in Flash /
    Flex using something similar to this.
    var myDynamicObject:* = whatEverObjectIFeelLikePuttingHere;
    Perhaps what might help to accomplish your goal is to use
    reflection inside of Flex. It is possible to use (although somewhat
    irritating) reflection in Flex using a form similar to this.
    var content:Class = getClassFromPath(objectClassPath);
    newComponent = new content();
    addChild(newComponent);
    The only problem is that the compiler will scrub any
    variables/classes that are not currently being referenced, at least
    once, somewhere in the application. So somewhere in your
    application you must have a reference for the class, even if it set
    to null, so that the class will not be removed from the project.
    It's also possible that the describeType function might be of
    some use.
    Here are two references that describe each.
    http://www.cflex.net/showfiledetails.cfm?ChannelID=1&Object=File&objectID=580
    http://weblogs.thekeunster.com/?p=10
    Utilizing these features it's possible to do quite a bit to
    reshape your application based on data stored outside your
    application or on parameters only known at runtime.

  • Sliding Flash Interface - Using Links from an XML file Problem

    Hi All,
    Working on a new site for the company i've recently started
    working for... fairly new to flash but wanted to try this sliding
    interface for the graphic banner at the top of the page...
    have a look here at an early version of the site - sliding
    graphic interface at the top with coloured rollover buttons (a lot
    of work still to do! feel free to post constructive criticism)
    (am I allowed to post links??)
    here is the unfinished version with no links in the flash bit
    http://www.westfieldhealth.com/website/index.asp
    The Problem:
    I am pulling in a 'heading' 'text' and 'image' into the
    sliding graphic interface from the following xml file... (there are
    4 different xml files for 4 different slides)
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
    <content>
    <dialogue>
    <heading>Interested in selling our health
    plans?</heading>
    <text>Click here to learn more...</text>
    <img>home_window/intSmall.jpg</img>
    </dialogue>
    </content>
    I want to add a link to the xml that would be specific to
    each instance of the window...
    eg
    <link>contact-us/index.asp</link>
    But my limited knowledge of flash means I have no idea how to
    pull the link through from the xml file to use in the flash...
    Perhaps I need link text to pull as well
    eg
    <link-text>click here to contact us</link-text>
    Here is the function that pulls in the img, heading and txt
    public function onComplete(event:Event):void {
    var loader:URLLoader = event.target as URLLoader;
    if (loader != null) {
    externalXML = new XML(loader.data);
    mover_mc.heading_txt.htmlText =
    externalXML.dialogue[0].heading;
    mover_mc.myText_txt.htmlText = externalXML.dialogue[0].text;
    var url:URLRequest = new
    URLRequest(externalXML.dialogue[0].img);
    myLoader.load(url);
    } else {
    trace("loader is not a URLLoader!");
    Can anyone help me on how to pull in the link from the xml
    and use it to navigate to a different page on the site
    Thanks very much
    Hans
    link to
    my unfinished flash file...

    What is the exact error you get (what db version also), could you post a simplified version of the SQL which fails also? I have splitter based maps that successfully read from file via the XMLType(bfilename....) style code and insert into multiple targets, I did this on 11g though.

  • Link to Who-is-who from XML Form item

    How can I make a link from a user name to the user details of the who is who from a XML Form item? I see this functionality automatically in KM collection renderers but in the XML Form Builder I only see the option to link to the e-mail (Display name as E-mail link).
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Eric

    Eric,
    adding a link to user details in a XMLForm item is not possible at the moment.
    But this a reasonable request and maybe we can add this feature in one of the next SPs or release.
    Regards, Roland

    insCtx := DBMS_XMLSTORE.NEWCONTEXT('RIDB.TRIALZIPCODES');
    insCtx := DBMS_XMLSTORE.INSERTXML(insCtx, finalStr);
    dbms_output.put_line('INSERT DONE '||TO_CHAR(rowsp));
    DBMS_XMLStore.closeContext(insCtx);
    END;
    END TRIAL;
    For the first time when i complied i got the errors as :
    Procedure RIDB.PROCEDURE1@RIDB
    Error(16,14): PLS-00201: identifier 'UTL_FILE' must be declared
    Error(16,14): PL/SQL: Item ignored
    Error(29,1): PLS-00320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
    Error(29,1): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Error(33,1): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Error(33,19): PLS-00320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
    Error(36,1): PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Error(36,17): PLS-00320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed
    So i logged in as sys & grant the permission to execute on UTL_FILE to ridb (user):
    SQL Statement:
    grant execute on utl_file to ridb
    So, it got compiled successfully but when i execute it gives me error as:
    Source does not have a runnable target.
    What does this mean?
    So I browse through forum & i got to know that i need to initial the UTL_FILE_DIR ="C:/OracleProject" in init.ora
    So can i edit the init.ora with notepad.When i tried to do that it says permission denied
    In my system it shows the init.ora file in path C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts
    but there is also other file initXETemp in the same path do i need to do the changes in it.
    I have tried even editing the SPFILE as mentioned below:
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs\SPFILEEXE - I had edit this file using notepad & set the value of UTL_FILE_DIR ="C:/OracleProject". So next time when i restarted i'm unable to log on to the database.
    So i had reinstall the software again.
    Could you please let me know how to proceed..

    hi,
    I have created the directory from sys database
    CREATE or replace DIRECTORY XML_DIR2 AS 'C:\OracleProject';
    & grant read,write access to the user
    grant read,write on directory XML_DIR2 to RIDB;
    & i had change the tag name in the xml file as shown below:
    <?xml version = '1.0'?>
    <metadata>

    <ZIPCODE>80323</ZIPCODE>
    <ZIPCODEEXT>9277</ZIPCODEEXT>
    </mappings>
    </Zipcodes>
    </metadata>
    TRIALZIPCODE table as shown below:
    CREATE TABLE "RIDB"."TRIALZIPCODE"
    (     "STABBRE" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),

    DBMS_XMLStore.setRowTag(insCtx, 'mappings');
    cnt := DBMS_XMLStore.insertXML(insCtx, xmldoc);

  • Need help setting up DB Link from my Oracle 11g XE to SQL Server.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a DB Link from my Oracle 11g Express Edition in a Windows XP machine to an SQL Server. Here are the steps I've done so far.
    1. Created and setup an ODBC Connection for the SQL Server DB. Named it SQLSERVER. Windows Authenticated.
    2. Modified listener.ora. See below.
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server)
          (PROGRAM = extproc)
        (SID_DESC =
          (SID_NAME = CLRExtProc)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server)
          (PROGRAM = extproc)
        (SID_DESC =
          (SID_NAME = SQLSERVER)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server)
          (PROGRAM = hsodbc)
    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521))
    DEFAULT_SERVICE_LISTENER = (XE)3. Modified tnsnames.ora. See below.
    XE =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SID = PLSExtProc)
          (PRESENTATION = RO)
    ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SID = CLRExtProc)
          (PRESENTATION = RO)
    SQLSERVER =
      (DESCRIPTION =

        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SID = SQLSERVER)
      (HS = OK)
    )4. Copied C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\hs\admin\initdg4odbc.ora to C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\hs\admin\initSQLSERVER.ora and modified it. See below.
    # This is a sample agent init file that contains the HS parameters that are
    # needed for the Database Gateway for ODBC
    # HS init parameters
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = SQLSERVER
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = off
    # Environment variables required for the non-Oracle system
    #set <envvar>=<value>5. Restarted listener.

  • Error editing task sequence: Failed to load dynamic properties for class "SMS_TaskSequence_ApplyWindowsSettingsAction" From XML into WMI

    I've started getting an intermittent error editing my Windows 7 OSD task sequence.  Sometimes I can open the TS to edit, but when I try to apply changes I get the error.  Other times I get the error when trying to open the TS.  If I try again
    right away, I still get the error, but if I wait a few minutes and try again sometimes it will open the TS.
    The error reads:
    ConfigMgr Error Object:instance of SMS_Extended Status{Description = "Failed to load dynamic properties for class \"SMS_TaskSequence_ApplyWindowsSettingsAction\" from XML into WMI";Error Code = 2147943746;File = "e:\\qfe\\nts\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\ssptspackage.cpp";Line = 3454;Operation = "ExecMethod";ParameterInfo = "SMS_TaskSequencePackage";ProviderName = "WinMgmt";StatusCode = 2147749889;}
    Coinciding with this error, I show the following entries in the TaskSequenceProvider.log file:

    I exported the task sequence and checked in "object.xml" for the "ApplyWindowsSettingsAction", to see if there was something odd in the xml, but I don't find anything that jumps out as being wrong.  Here's the section of XML for
    that step.  I've removed identifying info, and replaced it with a generic term in bold.
    <step type="SMS_TaskSequence_ApplyWindowsSettingsAction" name="Apply Windows Settings" description="" runIn="WinPE" successCodeList="0" runFromNet="false"><action>osdwinsettings.exe /config</action><defaultVarList><variable name="OSDLocalAdminPassword" property="AdminPassword"></variable><variable name="OSDComputerName" property="ComputerName">%_SMSTSMachineName%</variable><variable name="OSDProductKey" property="ProductKey"></variable><variable name="OSDRandomAdminPassword" property="RandomAdminPassword">false</variable><variable name="OSDRegisteredOrgName" property="RegisteredOrgName">COMPANY NAME</variable><variable name="OSDRegisteredUserName" property="RegisteredUserName">COMPANY NAME</variable><variable name="OSDServerLicenseConnectionLimit" property="ServerLicenseConnectionLimit">5</variable><variable name="OSDTimeZone" property="TimeZone">Central Standard Time</variable></defaultVarList></step><step type="SMS_TaskSequence_ApplyNetworkSettingsAction" name="Apply Network Settings" description="" runIn="WinPEandFullOS" successCodeList="0" runFromNet="false"><action>osdnetsettings.exe configure</action><defaultVarList><variable name="OSDDomainName" property="DomainName">DOMAIN.COM</variable><variable name="OSDJoinPassword" property="DomainPassword"></variable><variable name="OSDJoinAccount" property="DomainUsername">DOMAIN ACCOUNT</variable><variable name="OSDEnableTCPIPFiltering" property="EnableTCPIPFiltering" hidden="true">false</variable><variable name="OSDNetworkJoinType" property="NetworkJoinType">0</variable><variable name="OSDAdapterCount" property="NumAdapters" hidden="true">0</variable></defaultVarList></step>
    Is there any other log I should check for a clue on this issue?  What could be causing this error?

    Thanks for sharing that!  I tend to save contacting MS support until after I've exhausted other options.  I'm always afraid that I'll spend the $500 to open a case and then it turns out to be something simple that I would have found if I had just
    kept working on it myself a little longer.
    It looks like that link is for an update released in February as KB3023562.  I downloaded and installed it. I'll try opening/editing/saving the task sequence a few times today to see if the issue is resolved.
    After I had already installed it, I thought to look up that update in configmgr.  The update is listed as superseded by 2 other updates.  The newest of those is KB3046049, which just installed last night with the other March patches, so it's possible
    that I didn't need to install KB3023562 after all.

    What am I doing wrong here?
    Thanks,

    Hi all -
    I'm quite stuck in a (somewhat) similar situation. We have a personalized page containing a link whose URL includes a variable ({@PersonId}). I modified the URL - big mistake - since there is no such variable as {@UserName}. Now when I try to navigate to the personalized page, it doesn't load at all - just returns an error page (the first line of which is this: oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25058: Definition UserName of type Attribute not found in EmployeeDetailsVO). I wouldn't have thought that a non-SYSADMIN user could break a page for all other users, but so it goes.
    Does anyone know how I might correct this problem? I figure there's someplace to change the URL and get rid of the ill-fated {@UserName} but darned if I know where or how.
    Here's a few details that seem like they might be helpful:
    Problem Description:
    - Page: (Barton, Jeffrey - /oracle/apps/per/selfservice/hierarchy/webui/MgrPrsnDetailsPG 120.1)
    - User (CBROWN)
    - Application (800 - PER - Human Resources)
    - Responsibility (54667 - LINE_MANAGER_ACCESS_V4.0 - Manager Self-Service)
    Personalizations:
    - Personalizations are (ENABLED)
    The following personalizations are effective on this page:
    - /oracle/apps/per/selfservice/hierarchy/webui/MgrPrsnDetailsPG (function/HR_PERSON_DETAILS_SS) (site/0)
    Oh, and I probably should note that this is EBS 12 - dunno if that is a given.
    thanks
    - John

  • Photo caption links in xml

    hi......i was wondering if anyone had ideas on how to display
    links from the xml file?.....i have some photos with corresponding
    captions and links, but have had a hard time figuring how to make
    the links active on the page.......was looking into xlink, but
    heard that IE doesn't support this.......any ideas, or examples
    that might help figure this out?
    thanks,
    emile

    thanks Donald.....hadn't tried that, that works pretty well
    and is really close to what would like to do.......one complication
    is that basically the individual enlarged photos in the album i'm
    trying are either in sets of 1 or 2 images........when u have only
    one image and one link displayed at a time, the link column works
    great.....but when there are two images and two links together - am
    not sure how to get this to work......i tried to make two link
    columns, which worked for the double images, but then on the single
    images one of the links would be undefined........does that make
    sense?......here's a link to the gallery if it might help:
