Links between drag and drop Objekts

Hello Pros,
I need to create a Desktop Pane ore something.
Here I want to place a bar with some buttons. By pressing on some of these it should create a new instance of a little Frame, Button, Label ore something where I can add a choice ore what ever.
But this isnt the Problem jet.
What I need is a Pane like I tell but the created Object must be movable in the frame. And another Problem is to link them to another.
All should be like a MS Visio ore something. Objects that linking to the direct follower.
I hope someone can help me. What I need would be at first some code who show me how I can create some movable objects and how I link them. The lines must follow the objects.
I hope some off you can help me.
Thanks beforehand for your answers and sorry about my bad English ;-).

Can you drag and drop between computers on the same network? I am using leopard and can move files via the finder; when using screen sharing it would be good to drag and drop between screens.
Well, the obvious question is... did you try just dragging them between screens, and what happened? My guess is that it works - but if it doesn't, there's the nifty Get Clipboard Contents/Paste Clipboard contents commands that work between screens, and they work to copy and paste files cross-computer (which is actually much more convenient than drag-n-drop, since you don't have to worry about positioning two windows juuusst right...)

  • Drag and Drop Funcionality

    I would like to build a web page that supports drag-and-drop functionality ... e.g. drag an image from one area of the page to another. I have read that JSF supports drag-and-drop and was looking for ways to implement this functionality using Java Studio Creator. So far I have not found anything in the tutorials, and when I search in these forums for "drag and drop" I get lots of descriptions of dragging-and-dropping components onto a page (i.e. building a page) but not implementing drag-and-drop functionality itself. Any tips on where to find this information is appreaciated.

    Thanks for the link about dragging and dropping Swing objects.
    Now I am stuck, because it seems the only kind of ojbects that can be dragged-and-dropped are java.awt.Component obects. All the cool objects from the Creator Palette are not java.awt.Component objects so it appears I cannot implement drag-and-drop for those?
    The below works okay, because btn is a java.awt.Component object.
    Button btn = new java.awt.Button();
    dragSource.createDefaultDragGestureRecognizer( btn,
    DnDConstants.ACTION_MOVE, this);
    But if instead of btn I try to use one of the objects from the Creator Palette (such as a Button which is of type com.sun.web.ui.component.Button) I get an error.
    So then is there no way to implement drag-and-drop functionality with these cool new Creator GUI objects? Thanks.

  • Adding a target to 'drag and drop' code snippet

    Hi,
    I would imagine it's a simple enough bit of additional code, but I'm no programmer, and trawling the Web has proved fruitless to date...
    Within Flash CS5 and using AS 3, I'm attempting to create a series of drag-and-drop interactions for a learning exercise where items must be dragged into the correct box with positive and negative feedback being generated as a result of where the learner drops the item. All I need is the code to link the drag and drop code snippet (which I have working) to a specific object/location on the stage (which I cannot find nor figure out for the life of me)!
    I may be overcomplicating given that perhaps there is a CS5-compatible extension out there somewhere (whatever happened to all of the e-learning extensions and tools Flash once had if my memory serves?) which can provide me with an easily customizable template to achive what I need to do?
    Many thanks in advance to whomever can offer and tips, tools or usable code for this task.
    Galvoice.

    the easiest way to handle that would be to assign a transparent movieclip to the target position and use that movieclip as your droptarget.

  • Drag and Drop to photo page creates links, doesn't replace placeholders

    I searched the discussions for quite a while and didn't find much similar to this topic. Basically, drag and drop is no longer working on my iWeb and my photo grids will not accept pictures to replace the placeholder (sample) photos. I will try to explain the whole problem in detail.
    I am a new iWeb user, and I set up a page without any problems at first. Yet when I returned in iWeb to add another photo page today, I have had a lot of trouble. I used the template Photo Page and opened the Inspector and the Media Viewer to drag photos onto the placeholder photos, as the Help pages and tutorials show. Yet when I drag the picture file from the Media Viewer into the photo grid, only a small text box appears that sets up a hyperlink to the photo file on my computer. I've tried messing with the inspector, seeing what the difference is between the placeholder photos' settings and the files I'm trying to add.
    The only differences I can see are: in the Link Inspector's pane I can tell the program is at first making a hyperlink to the file instead of displaying the photo (yet disabling the hyperlink doesn't change anything); also,
    In the Graphic Inspector pane that appears when I have selected a general area in the photo grid, at the top the "Style" , "Layout" and "Caption" options appear, along with a display of a sample photo style. When I click on one of the rectangles that appears with the file I am trying to drag and drop, I have only the "fill" option, which has "none" selected. Fiddling with the options does not get the photo to appear.
    I can see the blue grid surrounding the placeholder photos, so the photo grid exists. I have also tried using different templates' photo pages, but they all have the same problem. I also tried creating an album in iPhoto and importing it to iWeb, but only two photos appeared out of 12.
    So the main part of my problem is not that photos don't appear at all (if I try and insert them they appear on their own, completely independant of the template's style and the photo grid)., it is that they do not work with the photo grid and that drag-and-drop no longer works.
    Any information that could help is greatly appreciated.
    Sue

    Susan,
    Try out the following things. These suggestions are
    sort of the starting point for non-specific strange
    behavior in iWeb.
    1. Delete iWeb preference file at:
    YourHardDrive/Users/yourname/Users/Library/Preferences
    /"com.apple.iWeb.plist"
    2. Delete iLife Media Browser preference file at:
    YourHardDrive/Library/Preferences/"com.apple.iLifeMedi
    aBrowser.plist"
    3. Repair startup disk permissions using Disk
    Utility
    4. Reboot machine
    5. Delete iWeb application (but keep a backup of the
    Domain file!) and reinstall iWeb 1.0 from original
    iLife'06 DVD or Recovery Disks and then update
    directly to 1.1.1 via Software Update.
    These are the top 5 things that seem to garner some
    kind of positive results from people having similar
    problems.
    I am having the same problem Susan described. I've tried #1 and #2 from the above recommendations and still have the same problem of photos not opening in the photo page after dragging them from iphoto. I, too, published a site (not on .Mac, but I don't know if that matters) and now want to add a photo page. Also, the template shows six placeholders, but when I select the photo page only three appear.
    Hope you can help. Thank you.

  • Drag and Drop between two ALV Tree.

    Hi,
    I am trying the drag and drop event between two ALV Tree.
    After the occurence of drag and drop event , I am able to get the node key of the source tree node which is dragged . But when the node is dropped onto the target ALV Tree the target node does not gets selected, instead a plus mark appears focussing on the target node in the target ALV Tree. Can anyone suggest a way to get the node key of the focussed target node. Thanks.

  • Drag And drop between 2 UITableViewCells

    Hi i am new to this objective -c and cocoa touch's world.
    Can anyone tell me or share some code/link how to drag and drop between 2 UITable View cells.
    I googled found some code snippets but that doesn't worked effectively.
    http://tuts9.com/questions/65890/tutorial-on-how-to-drag-and-drop-item-from-uita bleview-to-uitableview.
    Cheers

    check this link, it has a very similar example: (with list
    component and removes the item from the old list)
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=dragdrop_7.html
    check the dragOver event of the destination component. You
    can reject the drag and add a copy to your list or accept the drag
    and add a copy to the source's list.

  • How do I drag and drop files between computers when using Home Sharing in ITunes?

    How can I drag music files between computers while using Home Sharing? An older version of ITunes had a Home Sharing icon in the column browser near the playlist so it was easy to drag and drop.

    Hello cacalenni,
    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you wish to learn how to import songs using Home Sharing in the new iTunes. The following resource should assist you in doing so:

  • Why does the drag and drop context menu always popup when dragging files between windows explorer instances ?

    I have fusion 7.1.1 on an iMac 27 inch retina. 32GB ram of which 6GB assigned to Fusion and 2 cores. Windows 7 Home Premium installed. Mostly working fine but a few funnies. First and foremost: Whenever I drag and drop between instances of windows explorer, I get the little pop-up context menu offering me Copy Here / Move Here etc.  etc. I have never known Windows to ask me what I want to do when I drag stuff - why is this happening ? I have scoured the net for info on this and found nothing. Please note that this is NOT associated with the Start Menu (For which I found a zillion solutions to whatever that problem is). Also, It is NOT to do with stopping drag & drop and Context menus: yes, I know how to do that but that is NOT what I'm asking to get rid of. This may not be related but I have also had to set my Internet Properties / Explorer settings / Launching-applications-and-unsafe-files to "Enable" to prevent every shortcut I create causing a "Do you want to run this ... ?" message every time I click on them. Doing this has caused WIndows 7 to turn into a finger-wagging safety-nanny glaring at me over its demi-lune spectacles.

    Ok ... fixed
    Here is the way http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/944828
    In your sequence, on the left most column you should see a V1 (left of the Lock Track button). Click that to make sure its highlighted, it allows you to drop video to the sequence.

  • SharePoint Online Drag and Drop to Quick Launch Links

    Hello,
    We're using a SharePoint document library to store invoices and an approval workflow to manage the approvals for payment. Once an invoice is approved and paid, they move the invoice into a Paid subfolder. Because there are a lot of invoices, the view
    stretches across multiple pages. When they're not on the first page of the invoice list, they can't use the drag and drop functionality to move the invoice into the Paid folder because the Paid folder only shows up on the first page of the list.
    I would like to be able to add a link to the Paid folder to the links on the left side of the window. I can add the link, and it works in that if you click the link it takes you to
    Shared Documents\Paid. But if you try and drag a document to that link, it wants to place it in the root Shared Documents, giving you an error message that the file already exists in that location.
    How can I create a quick link to a subfolder of Shared Documents that also allows drag and drop functionality?
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi Adam, here are a few solutions:
    1. Use "Open with Explorer."
    2. Use the Content Organizer to automatically move the documents.
    3. Create a workflow to automatically move the documents.
    4. Create another view or library on the same page with the Paid folder in it.
    5. DON'T USE FOLDERS!
    (sorry, they're a big pet peeve of mine because of all the problems they create. They're also completely unnecessary with only one exception.)

  • RE : Drag and Drop operations between two outlinefields

    Hi,
    Has any one tried the drag and drop operations between two Outline widgets ina
    window.Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    balsubHi Balsub,
    Here are some lines which can help you :
    First of all, your 2 OutLineFields must be in a draggable state.
    In the event loop of your window, you have to listen to the event
    ObjectDrop
    on the 2 OutLineFields :
    When Self.<MyOutLine1>.ObjectDrop(SourceX = SourceX,
    SourceY = SourceY,
    SourceField = SourceField,
    TargetX = TargetX,
    TargetY = TargetY,
    TargetField = TargetField) do
    When Self.<MyOutLine2>.ObjectDrop(SourceX = SourceX,
    SourceY = SourceY,
    SourceField = SourceField,
    TargetX = TargetX,
    TargetY = TargetY,
    TargetField = TargetField) do
    Then, when you receive this event, the LocateNode() method will give you
    the DisplayNode which is beeing dragged :
    (assume that your OutLineFields are mapped to the class named :
    ClassOutLine,
    and Col is an Integer which is not important here)
    TheSourceLine : ClassOutLine;
    Col : Integer;
    TheSourceLine = (ClassOutLine)((OutLineField)(SourceField).LocateNode(X
    = SourceX,
    Y = SourceY,
    Column = Col));
    If you want to remove this line from the Source OutLineField :
    TheSourceLine.Parent = Nil;
    TheSourceLine.UpdateFieldFromData();
    If you want to insert this line at the end of the Target OutLineField :
    TheSourceLine.Parent = (OutLineField)(TargetField);
    TheSourceLine.UpdateFieldFromData();
    And if you want to insert this line before or after the Target line of
    the Target OutLineField :
    TheTargetLine : ClassOutLine;
    TheTargetLine = (ClassOutLine)((OutLineField)(TargetField).LocateNode(X
    = TargetX,
    Y = TargetY,
    Column = Col));
    TheTargetLine.PrevSibling = TheSourceLine; // Insert the source line
    before the target line
    or
    TheTargetLine.NextSibling = TheSourceLine; // Insert the source line
    after the target line
    TheTargetLine.UpdateFieldFromData();
    I hope this help you !

    There is no configuration for it. It should work.
    Can you try it in a different user account. If it works in a different account, then it is likely something in your current user account that is messed up. If it doesn't work in another user account, then it is likely something with Mail, itself.
    You could try downloading and installing the 10.6.7 combo update. That may repair what is wrong.

  • How to drag and drop tab nodes between tab panes

    I'm working on example from this tutorial( Drag-and-Drop Feature in JavaFX Applications | JavaFX 2 Tutorials and Documentation ). Based on the tutorial I want to drag tabs between two tabs. So far I managed to create this code but I need some help in order to finish the code.
    Source
    tabPane = new TabPane();
    Tab tabA = new Tab();
       Label tabALabel = new Label("Main Component");
    tabPane.setOnDragDetected(new EventHandler<MouseEvent>()
                @Override
                public void handle(MouseEvent event)
                    /* drag was detected, start drag-and-drop gesture*/
                    System.out.println("onDragDetected");
                    /* allow any transfer mode */
                    Dragboard db = tabPane.startDragAndDrop(TransferMode.ANY);
                    /* put a string on dragboard */
                    ClipboardContent content = new ClipboardContent();
                    content.put(DataFormat.PLAIN_TEXT, tabPane);
                    db.setContent(content);
                    event.consume();
    What is the proper way to insert the content of the tab as object? Into the tutorial simple text is transferred. How I must modify this line content.put(DataFormat.PLAIN_TEXT, tabPane);?
    And what is the proper way to insert the tab after I drag the tab:
    Destination
    tabPane.setOnDragDropped(new EventHandler<DragEvent>()
                @Override
                public void handle(DragEvent event)
                    /* data dropped */
                    /* if there is a string data on dragboard, read it and use it */
                    Dragboard db = event.getDragboard();
                    boolean success = false;
                    if (db.hasString())
                        //tabPane.setText(db.getString());
                        Tab tabC = new Tab();
                        tabPane.getTabs().add(tabC);
                        success = true;
                    /* let the source know whether the string was successfully
                     * transferred and used */
                    event.setDropCompleted(success);
                    event.consume();
    I suppose that this transfer can be accomplished?
    Ref javafx 2 - How to drag and drop tab nodes between tab panes - Stack Overflow

    I would use a graphic (instead of text) for the Tabs and call setOnDragDetected on that graphic. That way you know which tab is being dragged. There's no nice way to put the Tab itself into the dragboard as it's not serializable (see https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-29082), so you probably just want to store the tab currently being dragged in a property.
    Here's a quick example; it just adds the tab to the end of the current tabs in the dropped pane. If you wanted to insert it into the nearest location to the actual drop you could probably iterate through the tabs and figure the coordinates of each tab's graphic, or something.
    import java.util.Random;
    import javafx.application.Application;
    import javafx.beans.property.ObjectProperty;

  • I use to drag and drop an web address into a link toolbar, can't seem to figure out how to do this...?

    I just upgraded to Windows 7 and with it I got the latest Firefox. There is nothing like learning 2 things at one time. On my old XP and 3.? all I have to do was drag and drop a web address into a link toolbar. Saving all my frequent visited or just sights I want quick access to, to a toolbar quick button. I have been playing with this for days and decided to try this Forum. I did find the Bookmark toolbar, but cant seem to figure out what is if for or if you can drop into it. When I right click it and Customize, it shows me add on buttons, but nothing to do with web addresses or alike...
    Bottom line; I want to be able to drag and drop a web address into a toolbar for recall latter and be able to edit the address with a right click at a latter date in necessary...
    Thanks, Mike

    You can drag and drop the favicon also known as the [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Site+Identity+Button site identity button], at the left hand edge of the location bar onto a toolbar to bookmark the site.

  • Drag and Drop rows between tables in JSP

    I have to convert a swing application into a web project. One of the screens in my swing application uses drag and drop of records between two tables. The key is that when one of the rows is picked and dropped in the other table values get allocated to each column accordingly. I need to bring this functionality into a JSP. There is no constraint on using Javascripts. Please help me asap.
    Regards,
    KK

    Yes it is possible, but not so easy. If you'll be at OOW this year, you can come to my session (S301752, Monday 13:00-14:00) - I will show something similar there. If you're not so lucky, you can read the excellent blogpost of my colleague at [http://rutgerderuiter.blogspot.com/2008/07/drag-planboard.html]

  • Drag and drop to open link

    Hi , I'm learning flash and have just upgraded from MX to CS5 . In MX I created a drag and drop actionscript that works fine , but now I want to modify it. In the original , an image representing an audio file could be dragged and dropped , and if it was double-clicked it opened that specific audio file and played the audio . I would like to get rid of the double-click and have the audio file open if the image is dropped on top of another image (of a record player) . Is it possible to activate the specific link for the audio file image by dropping it inside a box , or onto a button?
    Also , the MX version works fine , but do I have to rewrite it using Actionscript 3 , if I add further code in CS5?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Ned.
    Here is the code
    //On press
    on (press) {
      this.startDrag();
    //On release
    on (release) {
      this.stopDrag();
    //On rollOver
    on (rollOver) {
      this.swapDepths(1000);
    on(release) {
      var v0 = getTimer();
      lastclick = getTimer();
      if (lastclick - v0 + 500 > 0) {
      getURL("katie.html");
      trace("double");
      } else {
      trace("single");
    It shows a pile of "albums" to sort through and click through to the music. See http://www.olimalarky.co.uk/flash/musics.html
    I want to drag the image onto the image of a record player and have it open the link without clicking.
    Thanks for any help.
