Links from Search Results are not resolving or take a very long time.

The searches happen fairly quickly, but the links from the results are not resolving. I am unable to get the information I need. It appears there are performance problems with the site.

am facing a unique issue in SP 2013. Whenever we search for a search criteria the results returned is not accurate always. Every time we navigate across pages, the search results change which is not
a desired behavior. However we also noticed that the refiner panel does not change as well and it retains the old count which leads to inconsistent results when user selects a criteria from the refiner.
any pointers / helpful links regarding this issue, if any anyone has surfaced, is highly appreciated!

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that search results are not accurate.
I recommend to run a full crawl and then to check whether the search results are correct.
If your incremental crawl is running, it may happen that, when you are viewing the data in the search result web part, the newly added content are not crawled yet.
So, after the content are updated, wait for some time.
Let your incremental crawl finish. Then view the results on the page.

I suspect you may have a corrupt photo or image that is causing the sync to fail or quit. You might want to try removing all of your photos by deselecting them in iTunes then sync - and try adding them by each sub-folders until you are able to nail down which sub-folder of photos, that causes the sync to stop or gives you errors.

I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.

If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.

WCP Framework 11g and SES 11g : search results are not secured

Hello,
We are integrating WCP 11.1.1.6 and SES 11.1.2.2
we have quite a stunning issue here where the search results returned by a WCP Framework application are not secured, ie secured contents are returned in the search results for unauthenticated users and for users who have no permission on these contents.
Though, the search results are well secured in the standard SES search interface (http://seshost/search/query/).
The main concern is about results coming from WCC.

we managed to integrate UCM and WCP with Document Service taskflows and it works fine, ie security is well propagated for the roles we want.
WCC/UCM and WCP authenticate users via WLS which is connected to an AD.
SES has its own identity management system which authenticates users directly to the AD.
We activated the SESCrawler component in WCC/UCM and the SES/UCM crawling process is OK.
We can search for UCM contents in SES without issue and anonymous/unauthenticated search in SES doesn't return results from non-public security groups, which is what we want.
WCP search is connected to SES (which is the default setting), eg from adf-config.xml:

So the problem is that anonymous/unauthenticated search in WCP does return results from non-public security groups, which is not what we want.
eg: access to the WCP app (don't logon)
run a search
in the search results, you can see contents which are not assigned in the public security group. Though, the WCC/UCM guest role doesn't have any permission on these SG.

Links in search results do not open new tabs.

I'm missing something here and in other threads on this subject. I used to be able to search in the search bar, using google, for instance, and a new tab would open with the search results. Then if I left clicked on a link within the search results another new tab would open and switch to the linked page.
I don't remember how that was set up, but I know I didn't have to go into about:config or install a special add-on for that. I think it was set up in the tab mix plus add-on.
I have no problem with the search results opening a new tab, it's that I now have to middle-click on a link or right-click + click on "open in new tab".
What changed here and why? My old method worked in Ver. 21, it Changed in Ver. 22.
It seems like all these "updates" remove stuff we used to have with no notice and then come up with more finger clicks and config edits to do what was straight forward before.

You may also have to create an allow exception to keep this cookie.

Anyone else noticed that the upload to iCloud from Photos.app takes a very long time?

I have a Photos library that weight about 60 gig. I have 200 gig on iCloud. Photos have now been sending data for over 12 hours at a 200 K/sec pace. Has anyone else experienced slow sending? Anyone who has an idea of what I can do? Or maybe it's just a very long way to send images from Sweden to US and back again to my other devices.

Part of the issue is that Apple's servers are likely under some strain. The other part of it is, how fast is your upload from your ISP? 5Mbps upload is the standard for most Americans, but that only means 625KB/sec maximum.
Apple appears to be aware of how long large libraries will take to first upload, which is why Photos preferences offers the option to pause the upload for a day. That implies to me that this will take many days to upload completely.

Search criteria is retained but search results are not retained

I have a search screen ( resultBased Search). On Click of go , it lists out all the records which are matching the criteria.
In this results table , I have single selection. User can select one record and view the details of those records. But if I cancel the detail screen it is coming back to the search screen with all the search criteria entered . But in results table only the selected record is available and no other records. I am retaining the AM during navigation.
I am using the same vo for results table and viewing the details.
For example, I have a project VO . On search , it will list out all the Project List and each row belongs to a Project VO.
On select , I am taking the selected Project VO and display insite details.
Can anyone help me on this.

That is why. To navigate to the Page, you are finding a unique record and viewing/updating the row. Now once you navigate back to the Search Page, that single row which resides in the VO is rendered.
To resolve this either you have two VOs (may be almost similar queries) for Search and the Page, or you can try requerying the VO once you navigate to the search Page. Decide based on your own requirements.

Links from old threads are not parsing in new "Communities" Forum - Fail!

As much as I am yet to be impressed with the new Communities look and feel this is functional aspect which need to be patched by Apple, and fast.
Old threads used the [Anchor text | uri link] syntax to define hyperlinked text. The new Communittees site is not parsing it correctly so old threads are full of this syntax in plain text — NOT PARSED to create links.
Everybody in QA and beta testing on this Forum Site at Apple needs a rocket under there ares for this very basic miss.(presumably it was made at Apple although I know RADAR is outside-ware)

Apple this really *****. Totally apart from the look and feel of Communities which I'm reserving judgement on until I give a fair trial (but so far that ***** even more than the parsing junk). Why everything except the box I'm typing in has to be oversized to Duplo scale (are kindergarten kids using Communities already?) semi-bold font-face I can't guess.

My brand-new iPod touch (5th Gen) battery takes a very long time to fully charge, even while not in use. Why is this and what should I do?

Just recently bought a brand-new iPod touch, 5th generation. To be exact, got it two days ago, this past Saturday, on 12/13/2014. Initially, when I first turned it on, it had a fully charge and I didn't need to charge it. I also didn't see anything in the very small and limited start-up guide you receive with it to charge it for a certain amount of time before use, or to use it until the battery dies, then charge all the way, like a lot of electronic devices have you do when you first purchase them.
So I was assuming I didn't need to do anything like that. First question, should I have charged it for a period of time before use? Should I have used it until the battery died, then plugged it in and charged it fully before use? Or is none of this necessary initially and iPod batteries are good to go from the start?
Please excuse me if this is an obvious question, as this is my first ever iPod. Anyways,like I said, nothing in the "instructions" said anything about that, so I didn't do it, I just used it until it got below 20% battery left, then I plugged it in.
Now for the battery itself, it takes literally a day or so to fully charge, even while not in use. Even if I use it for a while, turn off the iPod to make sure it shuts off all background data and apps, and then plug it in to charge, it still charges extremely slowly. I've never seen a device take this long to charge. As for the battery life itself, I'd say at full charge it lasts about 4-5 hrs, maybe 6, and then I have to charge it again. Meanwhile it takes around 24 hours, without me using it, to fully charge. If I use it while its charging, the battery decreases faster than it charges, and eventually I'll get the typical "20% battery remaining" message pop up.
I know it is charging, as the lightning symbol is next to the battery symbol. Specifically, right now, I plugged it in about 1 hr 30 minutes ago, and it has barely gone up. Also, whenever I press the home button to check the battery, I can see it jump down from about 50% to somewhere around 25%-30%. What is that about?
This is really frustrating, and I'm seriously contemplating either taking it back and trying my luck with a different iPod, or just taking it back and getting my money back. Any help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can to shed more light on this.

My iPhone 4S is attempting to restore from an iCloud backup. It's taking a very long time. Is it still restoring?

I began this crazy fiasco on Friday (it's now Monday). My phone didn't have enough storage to update to iOS8 via wifi, so I connected to my laptop. Thankfully I backed up my phone to iCloud & even saved pics manually onto my laptop before beginning the update via iTunes. My computer (PC, Dell Mini) kept making disconnection sounds (my USB ports are unreliable at times) so I began to think it wasn't going to work with the continuously broken connection (it was displaying a message in iTunes "waiting for iphone"). So I thought, well, if that USB port isn't working & it's already disconnected, I'll just switch the USB port real quick. BIG MISTAKE. I then got an error message saying the connection was lost & the update was interrupted. I clicked "OK" & then I was told that my iPhone would have to be reset to factory setting before it could be updated. GREAT... So I let it be restored to factory settings via iTunes. After that it updated to iOS8. Once that was complete I began the iCloud backup restore. It started Friday afternoon & ran for several hours, reloading many of my items. But then I had to leave work, & a wifi connection. My phone was away from wifi most of the weekend, but has had the spinning 'loading wheel' next to my "4G" icon in my status bar the whole time. Several of my Apps say their 'waiting' or 'loading' but they don't appear to be actually loading (hence, they're in the same 'loading' spot they've been in for days). When I looked online I found this:

But when I look at the Settings > iCloud on my phone, there's no "Storage & Backup." Instead, where that option should be, is a message at the very bottom of the page that says "Your iCloud account cannot be deleted because your iPhone is being restored." This is the only indication I have that it's still restoring, but like I said, the apps have not shown improvement in their loading. Now it's Wednesday (2 days since I originally posted) & my iPhone appears to have finally restored all my apps, but it still says it's restoring from iCloud backup. If all my apps are restored, what else could it be restoring? IS it actually restoring anything at this point, or is it still in 'glitch' mode??? I've tried turning it off & back on & it continues to say that it's restoring.

When I click on a link that opens in a new window, it takes an unusual long time to open. (16-20 seconds). Same with opening Firefox when I turn on my laptop.

Once it's open, it works fine. I can move around the document or page without any issue, it's just opening. This does not happen when it opens a new tab. Only when it opens a new pop up page. Same with opening Firefox in the morning. I did the same process in IE, and did not have the same problem.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Problem with Help Link in search result screen of PCUI

Hi,
I am trying to access the pcui applications that came out of box with crm using BAB,everthing is working fine but got a problem with "Help" link in top right (beside personalize link) the search result area of all the PCUI screens.
when i click on that i get "page cannot be displayed" error, seems that it is pointing to some wrong URL, where should i change the url to point to our company's help site for that link..

My response help resolve Kodru's Message which he also posted in EP Implementation Forum. He resolved it by changing the variant noted below.

First I would check if the crm_bsp_f1_help service has been activated in SICF.
Secondly I would check the settings in the IMG -> SAP WAS -> Know. Mgt. -> Settings in App. Sys. -> Usage of Help Type "Dynamic Help". The Tab PlainHtmlHttp should have a variant called CRM_HELP, Server Name (help.sap.com) and path.

Ff6 beta is taking a very long time or not loading at all sites from links or bookmarksmarks

firefox 6 beta auto updated now when I click on links or book marks site either take a very long time to load or do not load at all.When I tried to log into my back acct. it never loaded.

No clue why the final processes have suddenly started to take so long. Two things I'd try: a) capture from an older tape to see if some problem with the new tape is at fault. And b) check the health of your RAM and the hard drive.
The red frame sounds a bit like a glitch we used to have in OnLocation (actually in its predecessor HDV Rack) which was caused by a partial GOP. But that was a product of HDV Rack recording from the live video stream. It turned out that HDV cameras intentionally interrupt the data stream for an instant upon starting to record--specifically to avoid recording a partial GOP to tape. So my gut says that the tape has partial GOPs at the points where you stopped/started recording.
