Links to parts of report results - urgent

I have a report that contains a lot of data-depanding on the values of bind variables up to 10000.
I need to put on the top of report page links to parts of result set, for example to every two hundred of lines (200, 400, ...). I mean something like links to pages on technet discussion groups.
How can I do that? Is there any variable that I can use in url link to display such part of results?
Thanks in advance.
best regards
Krzysztof Jungowski

Hi,
I seem to remember that there is a form in the report that holds the information that you need, it should be possible to alter the values in this form and then submit it to get the required results.
Sorry, I don't have Portal, only WebDB.
there are two fields near the end of the form:-
INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="p_arg_names" VALUE="p_page_number"
INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="p_arg_values" VALUE="1"
the second field always contains the current page number.
If you set the page number with Javascript and then submit the form you will get either the page before or after the one that you have set.

  • Linked column with # sign doesn't work in report results

    I have a 2 page query situation, whereas in the 1st page I have a wildcard query to find a product number.
    This product number is set-up as link to run a report which opens in another page.
    (Type is a STRING.)
    Everything works fine unless the product number starts with the # sign.
    I can run a report using this in a non-linked page, but it doesn't work in the linked page...?
    Simple queries
    Page 1
    select
    from
    Products
    WHERE (((upper(TOP_ITEM) like upper(:P1_SEARCH)||'%')))
    and :P1_SEARCH is not null
    (Link on Top Item - :P2_Search)
    Page 2
    select
    from
    Products
    where Top_Item = :P2_Search
    (This works fine if I enter the #[Product] into the text field)
    Link doesn't work...?

    You need to escape the "#" character in the product no and generate the link's HTML code in report #1 directly within the SQL query.
    select ..
       ,'<a href="f?p=REPLACE(product_number,'#',''%23)
      ,'<a href="f?p=' || :APP_ID || ':200:' || :APP_SESSION || '::NO::P200_PRODUCT_NUMBER:' || REPLACE(product_number,'#','%23') || '"> Link</a>' product_number_link
    FROM ..
    {code}
    <i> 200 is report #2's page
    P200_PRODUCT_NUMBER is report #2's page item which is set on redirecting to that page.
    Product_number is the column name of column with '#' characters
    Change display type of product_number_link column to "standard report type"</i>

  • Create a Link to another (custom) Report

    Hi guys,
    I'm back again as I'm stuck with trying to create a link between two custom reports.
    I'll make it simple, this is the current result when I run the main custom report:
    This is its query (I removed all the exlusions to make it short):
    SELECT distinct ARPDisplayName0, Count(rsv.ResourceID) AS 'Count' , Publisher0
    FROM v_R_System_Valid rsv
    LEFT JOIN v_FullCollectionMembership fcm on fcm.ResourceID=rsv.ResourceID
    LEFT JOIN v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE arp on arp.ResourceID=rsv.ResourceID
    WHERE fcm.CollectionID = @CollectionID
    --- List of Software ---
    and (
    ARPDisplayName0 LIKE '%Access%'
    or ARPDisplayName0 LIKE '%office%'
    --- Run the query only on any vendor which includes the word Microsoft ---
    and Publisher0 LIKE '%Microsoft%'
    --- Exclude/Include any hostnames which contains the following ---
    and (rsv.Netbios_Name0 NOT LIKE '%STC%')
    GROUP BY ARPDisplayName0, Publisher0
    ORDER BY count desc, Publisher0
    Now, I'd like to click on the Software name and run this query against it:
    SELECT Netbios_Name0
    FROM v_R_System_Valid rsv
    LEFT JOIN v_FullCollectionMembership fcm on fcm.ResourceID=rsv.ResourceID
    LEFT JOIN v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE arp on arp.ResourceID=rsv.ResourceID
    WHERE ARPDisplayName0 LIKE 'Microsoft Visual Studio 2005'
    GROUP BY Netbios_Name0
    ORDER BY Netbios_Name0
    Where "Microsoft Visual Studio 2005" is going to be the variable passed once clicked on it. The above will return a list of hostnames where that software is installed to.
    I appreciate any help. Thanks :)

    Can you also explain me the alias part aside please? Thanks a lot.
    Using your Query above. Notice the Count(rsv.ResourceID) statement.
    rsv is an alias for v_R_System_Valid
    Each column should have an alias. so ARPDisplayName0 should be arp.ARPDisplayName0, etc. This will prevent conflicts between the various views and ensure that you get the right data returned.

  • View a Detailed report from a link in a General Report?

    Greetings all,
    I have no idea why I am confused on what I am trying to do. I have a Report that Generates a tabluar view off all tickets the actual ticket has 25 fields to be filled in, but of course on the tabular view, I only have four of the relevant fields that the user can see.
    Example:
    TICKETID TICKETDESCRIPTION TICKETSTATUS TICKETOWNER
    0001 | Stuff Broke | Awaiting Customer | Bob
    0002 | Part Missing | Open | Fred
    0003 | Need Help with Stuff | Open | Sandy
    What I am trying to do is create the TICKETID as a link that will open another report with all the details about the Ticket. Currently I have the report and it has a link to go and edit the fields on the form based on P12_TICKETID = #TICKETID# in the link field. But I can't find a way to link it to another report. Am I missing something? I want the user to see all the details about the ticket, but I don't want them to be able to edit the report. I guess I am not clear on how to create a selectable report based on one ticket verses a report that lists them all.
    Currently the tabular report is on my Page 11 and I don't see how to reference the report fields by any P11_xxxx naming as I have tried and it tells me it can't see them.
    The P12_TICKETID is the Form that analysts use to update the ticket, so I don't want the customers to access that unless there is a way to access it as a view only.
    I hope that made sense and if so, could someone tell me what I am missing in my thinking. I would think this would be a standard process for APEX but I am lost on it.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Wally

    If I understand right,you want a new report, that contains all 25 columns, but just for the selected record. There are several ways to accomplish this, including creating a form that would be read-only. To create this as a report, you need to create a new page, you can create a report on that page but use a value attribute pairs report template (this will show the label on the left and the value on the right for each column and each column going down the page, rather than across). Create a hidden item on your page to store the selected ticket_id and then link to that new page, passing #TICKETID# to the hidden item. Lastly, modify the query on your new page to include 'where ticketid = :P?_TICKETID'.
    Again, you could create a classic report that just includes all 25 columns or a form and then make each item display only or the scenario I described above. Good luck.

  • Help Creating A Link In An IR Report Passing The Value From A Different Col

    Version 4.0.2.00.07
    Hello,
    I have an Interactive Report with a column that I need to create a link on but I need to pass the value of another column.
    This report shows the Features of a particular Release. There is a select list for the Release that is selected and executes the report.
    There is a column that indicates whether the Feature has a Commitment attached to it. If there is have that a link to another report that shows all the Commitments for that Feature by passing the FEATURE_ID which is also a column on the Feature report.
    Query:
    SELECT
          ,CASE WHEN ft.feature_id IN (SELECT cc.feature_id
                                       FROM customer_commitments cc
                                       WHERE ft.feature_id = cc.feature_id
                                      ) THEN 'Yes' ELSE 'No'
           END "Commitment Exists"
              ,ft.feature_id
    FROM ....If "Commitment Exists" has a 'Yes', the 'Yes' is a link that will pass the FEATURE_ID to another report that will show the Commitments for that Feature. If the "Commitment Exists" has a 'No' then no link.
    I was also wondering if the Commitment report could open in a seperate window and make it modal?
    I hope this is clear and someone could help me.
    Please let me know if it's not clear or more information is needed.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    To accomplish this I would build the link as part of the value. So if Yes the Yes itself would be a link, if No is simply text as today.
    It would look something like this:
    SELECT
          ,CASE WHEN ft.feature_id IN (SELECT cc.feature_id
                                       FROM customer_commitments cc
                                       WHERE ft.feature_id = cc.feature_id
           THEN
            '<a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:NEW_PAGE:&SESSION.::::Pn_FEATURE_ID:' || ft.feature_id || '">Yes</a>'
           ELSE
            'No'
           END "Commitment Exists"
              ,ft.feature_id
    FROM ....One problem with this approach is when you export the report (as a CSV for example). There are a few ways to handle this, one is to simply duplicate the column with clear text yes and no and set this column to be included on export and only visible on export. The other column, with the link, set it to no export.
    The other option is to add another condition on the REQUEST value.
    SELECT
          ,CASE WHEN ft.feature_id IN (SELECT cc.feature_id
                                       FROM customer_commitments cc
                                       WHERE ft.feature_id = cc.feature_id
           THEN
                  decode(:REQUEST, 'CSV', 'Yes'
                , '<a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:NEW_PAGE:&SESSION.::::Pn_FEATURE_ID:' || ft.feature_id || '">Yes</a>'
           ELSE
            'No'
           END "Commitment Exists"
              ,ft.feature_id
    FROM ....It seems that the link itself is getting replaced with a #. The link would look something like this:
    'f?p=&APP_ID.:NEW_PAGE:&SESSION.::::Pn_FEATURE_ID:' || ft.feature_id
    Hope this helps.
    Oh and of course, in order for the link to display you need to change the Display Type to "Standard Report Column" otherwise the HTML will be escaped.
    Thanks

  • Link to BI Publisher report with parameters

    I want to link from one BIP report to another. I have created a BI Publisher report using the Layout Editor. Using the following link, I can connect to the BIP report when directly pasted into the address bar in firefox.
    http://xxxxxxxxx/xmlpserver/Sample Reports/Developmment_ML/Report_Fin_Ledger_MN.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=0&_xdo=%2FSample%20Reports%2FDevelopmment_ML%2FReport_Fin_Ledger_MN.xdo&_xmode=&_paramsCompany=00050&_xt=LO_Fin_Account_Ledger_02&_xf=html&_xautorun=true
    Note: I obtained the syntax for this link by viewing the target report and selecting Actions --> Share Report Link
    I created a second BI Publisher report using the Layout Editor. Within the Layout Editor, I modify the Properties of one of the fields. In the box next to "URL", I past the same link as above.
    However, when I view the report in HTML format, the link truncates anything after the first xdo to only return:
    http://xxxxxxxxx/xmlpserver/Sample Reports/Developmment_ML/Report_Fin_Ledger_MN.xdo
    As a result it does not pass the parameter value and run the report.
    Any assistance would be helpful. Thanks!

    Hi,
    I found a way to do this using javascript in "HTML Header" in the Page section of an APEX Page
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function invokeURL()
    var parameterId = document.getElementById("P2_PARAMETER").value;
    alert ("hello "+objectiveId);
    var url =
    "http://xxhost:port/xmlpserver/XXFOLDER_NAME/xxxx_test_report2.2/xxxx_test_report2.2.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=0&_xdo=%2XXXX_XXX%2Fxxxx_test_report2.2%2Fxxxx_test_report2.2.xdo&G_PARAMETER_NAME="+parameterId+"&_xt=defaultlayout&_xf=pdf&_xmode=2";
    window.open(url);
    </script>
    This can invoked in a button by passing "javascript:invokeURL();" to the "Optional URL Redirect" section.
    Thanks

  • How to use linked filters in webi reports.

    Hii.. all
    I want to know how can i  use related or linked filters in webi reports.
    that means if i am using three diff filters as f1 for Zone f2 for location and f3 for sales office
    then if have selected a zone from the zone  filter (for ex west) then the location filter should show only the locations which comes under that zone and the third filter should show only those sales offices which comes under the selected location from the filter..
    Plz help..
    thanks

    hi Neeraj,
    1. In Universe Take Storename, city, State, region, Country objects
    2. Double click on Storename, go to properties tab and click on edit button. Query panel will open.
    3. Double click on city and click on sort button, double click on state and sort it, double click on region and sort it, double click on Country and sort it.
    4. If you want to keep any condition like particular country, you can drag country object in to the Conditions pane.  If not leave it empty.
    5.Click on Save and close button. Save the universe and export it.
    6. In webI drag and drop the Storename object and click on 'Add Quick Filter' button.  Now all the columns you included in the list of values appear in the Add Quick Filter dialog box.
    Now You can select the values from here and run the query.  you will get the result.
    One more way is there using cascading LOVs
    1. Go to Tools menu > List of values > Create Cascading list of values.
    2. Double click on Country, Region, State, City and Storename.  Close it.
    3. Save and export the universe.
    4. In webi drag and drop the objects in result objects pane, apply query filter and run the query.
    Now you will get the result.

  • Calling a .rdf report from a link on a apex report column

    Hi,
    I want to call a xxx.rdf report from a link on a apex report column.
    Can anyone help me on this ?
    Best regards,
    JCN

    Hi,
    Sorry - I should have read a bit further in your last post!
    The url variable that you're defining should just be the URL string that you want to create, so you only need the "http://........" part. There's also a + missing after the "&TODT..." string.
    The "DEA_PERMIT_ID=&G_PERMIT_ID." part at the end should have an & at the start to indicate a new parameter in the URL. Otherwise, &G_PERMIT_ID. would be replaced by the value stored in the session for the G_PERMIT_ID item (presumably that is an Application Item?).
    So:
    function callPopup()
    var url = "'http://snapper.accsp.org/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=PDF&report=edr_landings_dollars_by_vessel.rdf&userid=evtr_report/chicken99@safis&FROMDT=" + $v("P810_FROM") + "&TODT=" + $v("P810_TO") + "&DEA_PERMIT_ID=&G_PERMIT_ID.";
    popupURL(url);
    }Andy

  • Passing report results parameters to different page

    Hi y'all,
    I was wondering how report results (results acquired by custom written sql query) can be passed to different pages?
    Can anyone help or provide me with a link which can point me to some documentation on this subject.
    Thanks,
    Cleo

    Cleo,
    Do you want the records fetched by the SQl query available in other pages inorder to use that as a source for processes in those pages ?
    One way is to define a collection in the SQL report page and fetch records into that collection on page load. Change the Report region to refer to the collection.
    For example, you have a SQL report based on the query
    SELECT 'a','b', 'c' from dualYou can have a Before header PLSQL process in that page that fetches these records into that collection
    BEGIN
      APEX_COLLECTION.TRUNCATE_COLLECTION ('REPORT_RECORDS');
      APEX_COLLECTION.CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY (
          p_collection_name = > 'REPORT_RECORDS',
          p_query => q'!SELECT 'a','b', 'c' from dual!'
    END;Change the SQL report to
    select * from apex_collections WHERE collection_name = 'REPORT_RECORDS'In any page where you want to use the reports records , they would be available in the collection.

    Great series of articles!!
    On the bottom of "Effects—motion that emphasizes" (page

    The correct link (

    Fixing this link in the article would make it possible for

  • Calling A BI Publisher Report From A Link In An Apex Report

    I have a report on my page
    select id, aa, bb
    from table_x
    What I want to do is to have an extra column or use the id column as a link (which says Print Report) to call an BI Publisher report. This call should pass over the id and open the report in a popup window.
    For certain reasons I do not want to use the built in report queries and layouts in apex, just call the report straight for BI.
    I call other BI reports in my application, but always from a button.
    Help appreciated
    Gus

    Hi,
    All that such a button does is submit the page and branch to page zero passing in the request field something like this:
    PRINT_REPORT=my_report
    So, to do the same in a dynamic action, use an "execute javascript code" action with something like this in it:
    location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=my_report';

  • How to create a dynamic action from link column in classic report

    I Have an apex page that display a modal window utilizing jquery. In the modal window I have a classic report with a link column that I want to capture its click event.
    I was thinking I could create a dynamic action with selection type=jquery selector. Not for sure if I need to do anything on link column and do not know the syntax
    for jquery selector. Would appreciate any help or direction???

    Thank you for your response. I am very new to Jquery so don't understand all that well.
    What I did:
    I created a dynamic action
    Event: Click
    Selection Type: jQuery Selector
    jQuery Selector: tdheaders
    Created True Actions
    I created an alert to see if this is being executed.
    Alert 'I made it here'
    What I have:
    I created a report region with the following query:
    Select empno, ename, 'SELECT' from emp
    where (ename like '%'||ltrim(rtrim(:P2_SEARCHPU))||'%'
    or :P2_SEARCHPU is null)
    I created 'SELECT' column as Link Column
    Report Attributes
    Link Text Select
    Target Page in this Application
    Page 2
    Region Header
    <div id="ModalForm2" title="Employee List" style="display:none">
    Region Footer
    </div>
    This report is displayed in a modal form when a button is clicked.
    Code for modal window in Page Header
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $( function() {
    $('#ModalForm2').dialog(
    { modal : true ,
    autoOpen : false ,
    buttons : {
    Cancel : function() {
    closeForm2();
    function openForm2()
    $('#ModalForm2').dialog('open');
    function closeForm2()
    $('#ModalForm2 input[type="text"]').val('');
    $('#ModalForm2').dialog('close');
    </script>
    I am trying to capture the click event on the link column of the report in the modal form. I want to pass a couple of column values
    back to the main form and close the modal window. I do not want to do the submit that happens if I click on the link column and link back to the main page(2)
    If I let the submit to happen, all other entered fields are cleared on my main form.
    Just don't understand the jQuery selector. I have no problem catching the button clicks on the modal form.

  • Hyperion Planning - Link a web analysis report in a data form

    Hi all,
    is actually possible to link a web analysis report in a planning data form? I tried from a custom menu but discovered that isn't possible. Any other way?
    I'm working with Planning 11.1.2.1
    Thanks

    Hi Raffounz
    Indeed, it is possible to link a web analysis report in a planning custom menu.
    Follow this procedure :
    - From the explorer :
    -> Go to the folder where your web analysis report is stored
    -> Right click on the document and left click on "properties"
    -> Copy the "smartCut" link
    - From your planning application :
    -> Edit the menu where you want to link your webanalysis report :
    -> Create a URL item and past the link in the input field

  • Linking to an OBIEE report without showing the user and password

    Hi!
    we are trying to access to an obiee report from an external portal (coded with php).
    The idea is that the user clicks on a link an gets the report in pdf format. For that purpose we are using this url:
    http://ttivobiee01:7001/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Prueba/ogp_obi&Action=Print&P0=1&P1=eq&P2="Criteria"."Key"&P3=1402&NQuser=user&NQPassword=pass&format=pdf
    But this url is expossing OBIEE's user and password.
    In order to avoid this security issue we tried to do an wget of the url but it doesn't return the report. Instead we get an html, which seams to download the report chunk by chunk (using javaScript).
    The question is, is there any way that we could let our portal ussers access to an obbie report without expossing the user and password?
    I have been looking into oracle forums and have found this: OBIEE Go URL with password protected
    but we couldn't use this aproach due to security issues.
    Thanks!

    We have finally done this (and it works!)
    <?php

    $ch = curl_init ($urlInforme);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR, $ckfile);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
    $output = curl_exec ($ch);
    $ch = curl_init ($urlInforme);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, $ckfile);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
    $fp = fopen("salida.pdf", "w");
    curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FILE, $fp);
    $output = curl_exec ($ch);
    curl_close($ch);
    fclose($fp);
