Linux remote debug - can't load jdwp helper lib

Running RedHat 7.1 and jetty web server with jdk 1.3.1_09(?) (and ultimately trying to do a remote
debug from a Windows Eclipse machine).
Running jetty with cmd line args:
-Xmx256m -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=y,address=8000 -Djava.compiler=NONE
linux says:
unable to configure JVMDI events
unable to initialize JVM helper library jdwp
loadJVMHelperLib failed
could not create the Java virtual machine
The linux jdk has /bin/libjdwp.so and /bin/libjdwp_g.so

silly me: I forgot the -Xdebug option. Now it works. Never mind.

  • I keep getting erroe message XPCOM can't load. Help

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad P400 and I am running Windows 8.1. While trying to remove AVG toolbar(I got hijacked and am having trouble removing it)Even though I did nothing to Mozilla I now keep getting an error message at start up that says "can't load XPCOM" when I try to uninstall from the control panel nothing happens. If I try remove it form the C:files (86) location there are two files one says Mozilla Firefox and the other one is Mozilla Maintenance files do I delete both files and then reinstall?

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

The command I'm executing works fine when it's executed from the command line with the same user, but the java error stream kicks out the following error when I run the code:
"SERVERERROR] Error from Server: Error Loading Library 'libsybase'"
I checked the path in java.library.path, and the path to the libraries are there. I can also run other commands and not get this error, such as the DB2 command.
Any ideas of what the problem could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

Thanks for your response. I'm not sure what you mean by application server. I was able to put the same command in Perl and it worked fine. Could it be an environment variable or something not being set? I can see all of the paths under java.library.path.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Remote debugging - can't debug subVIs [LV 8, Win XP]

I've successfully built one app and debugged it at a remote location. I'm trying to do the same with a different app and it won't let me debug anything but the main VI. With my first app I could open subVIs on my develpoment PC and they would be connected to the remote executable. When I open subVIs with my second app they don't get connected to the remote app (they show "My computer" in the lower left and they're not running). Has anybody run into this?
    George

I'm guessing both my problems are related to a developer install of 4.2. Apparently there is no way to get it back on the current OS without manually installing it. I am doing that now and predict everything will be fine afterward.
I'm sure somehow this is technically my fault but I am surprised that iTunes would report that an ancient version of the OS is the most up-to-date version.
    Thanks everyone!

  • Internet Sales R/3 remote debugging

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me, how to remote debugg a Internet Sales Application? I've read some lines in the Development and Extension Guide, but this is not a lot.
I don't understand how do debug a classfile. Because normaly the classfile will be compiled and deployed on the SAP J2EE. Is it possible to debugg this class with the remote debugging function of Eclipse?
    Thank u for every answer,
    regards Thomas

What is the solution for remote debugging, can you share.
Also, I have question regarding JSP page. How can I display name of jsp page on the browser for internet sales application. I know there is some variable like showmodulename to be set to true. I want to know how to use it. I tried but could not make it to work.
    Thanks

  • Remote debugging from Windows to Linux

Is there a full description of every step needed to do remote cross-platform C++ debugging? I'm using the Indigo version of Eclipse CDT on Windows and would like to debug an application on a remote Linux machine.
On Windows, I do not have the ability to install a compiler or cygwin, but I do have plink and ssh on Windows. I am able to access the remote machine via RSE SFTP (a la stackoverflow.com/questions/4216822/work-on-a-remote-project-with-eclipse-via-ssh). I do have VNC but I find that the Eclipse IDE is very unresponsive under that setup, hence the desire to develop and debug from a native Windows app.
This FAQ is the most complete (wiki.eclipse.org/CDT/User/FAQ#How_do_I_debug_a_remote_application.3F), but doesn't discuss how to deal with Windows using backslash paths and having a different filesystem root compared to Linux and its forward slashes.
I am able to get a remote connection by playing around with the suggestions here (www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?S=5e54b35462bb80f79ebb9fbbaf93a288&t=msg&th=173880), resulting in console output that looks like:
    Last login: Fri Apr 6 20:19:09 2012 from foo.bar.com
    echo $PWD'>'
    /usr/bin/gdbserver :12345 /linux/path/to/my/binary args_to_my_binary;exit
but it fails with "Error while launching command: gdb --version"
The old FAQ is very incomplete and seems out of date: wiki.eclipse.org/TM_and_RSE_FAQ#How_can_I_do_Remote_Debugging_with_CDT.3F
This suggests it's possible but does not have sufficient details on how to set the myriad configuration options in Eclipse: stackoverflow.com/questions/6044138/remote-debugging-in-eclipse-cdt
I suspect many people would benefit if there was a clear set of instructions in one place on how to make this happen.
    --Gerald Dalley

OK. I just spent the last two days figuring this out, so here are step-by-step instructions that hopefully will help others (This list is unusually anal by the standards of this group, but really simple concrete instructions would have helped me).
on the target linux box, make sure you have gdbserver. If you don't, get the gdb sources. Note: Making gdb does not build gdbserver. Instead, you have to go into the gdbserver directory and configure/make there.
Run gdb on the linux box. In the startup banner, it will say what its target is. This will be something like x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu or i686-pc-linux-gnu. Remember this for later.
Install MinGW on your Windows box (I had trouble building gdb on cygwin, so I recommend MinGW).
Download expat from http://sourceforge.net/projects/expat/files/expat/2.1.0/.Note: Do not download the Windows expat installer. Download the sources instead.
In the expat directory. "./configure --enable-shared", make, make install.
    Download the gdb sources
    ../gdb-7.4/configure --with-expat --target=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu --host=i686-pc-mingw32
    make, make install
Time to test. On your linux box, create and compile hello.cpp to hello.
On your linux box, gdbserver :4444 hello
Note:If you are on a corporate network, non-standard ports may be blocked. Set up an ssh tunnel if necessary.
Copy hello.cpp and hello to your Windows machine
From the MinGW prompt, run "x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-gdb ./Hello" Note: Substitute the name of the gdb you built as appropriate based on the target platform you got in step 2.
In gdb, load the executable with "file hello"
target remote localhost:4444 Note: This assumes that you have an ssh tunnel on localhost. Modify appropriately.
Verify that gdb commands like break, cont, and run work here.
Now we want to run it from outside of MinGW. In Control Panel/System/Advanced/Environment Variables add something like E:\MinGW\bin to the path. This is necessary for the loader to find libiconv_2.dll, etc. Now verify that you can do the preceding step from an ordinary Windows command prompt.
Launch Eclipse (finally!). New debug configuration C/C++ attach to process.
In Main, give path to the copy of the Linux executable on the Windows system.
In Debugger tab, set Debugger dropdown to gdbserver. Set "GDB debugger" to something like "E:\MinGW\msys\1.0\local\bin\x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-gdb.exe" based on where your gdb is. For Connection, choose TCP and fill in the hostname and port number you've been using from gdb in the previous steps.
Make sure gdbserver is running (it often quits when the program ends) and launch the debug configuration
In the gdb console, enter "file hello," "break main," and cont or run (sometimes it wants one. Sometimes the other) and voila, you should be there.
Let me know if this works, and I'll post it somewhere better.
    Good luck,
    Mike

  • Need Urgent Help in remote debugging

    Folks!
Im having difficulties remote debugging my application.
    Im using jdev rc2 using oc4j 9.0.2 externally on a win2k machine.
My sources are compiled outside jdeveloper using the oracle compiler.
Ive setup the server to run with: d:\oradev\jdk1.3\bin\java -ojvm -XXdebug,port4000 -jar oc4j.jar
After compiling the sources on my own, i deploy them. Then i mark a breakpoint in Jdeveloper and debug the source with the breakpoint. The debugger connect properly ( both server and jdev confirms ).
I trigger the flow which should reach my breakpoint, it runs and doesn't stop.
When i tried debugging something which i had compiled in jdev it worked under the same setting.
    Any ideas?
any kind of help would be appreciated.
    Yuval.

You can get good summary of checklist from this article about
    DBA checklist for data warehousing.
    Which highlights on below pointers:
New system or old. (I.e. Up-gradation vs starting from scratch)
    Complexity of SQL Server architecture
    SQL Server storage
    Determining SQL Server processing power
    SQL Server installation consideration
    SQL Server configuration parameter
    SQL Server security
    SQL Server Database property
    SQL Server jobs and automation
    Protecting SQL Server data
SQL Server health monitoring and check ups
    SQL Server ownership and control
based on my real time experience, I will suggest you to keep an eye on
Load performance (It will be useful when your database(Warehouse) will have huge amount of data)
System availability (Check for Windows update and up time configuration)
Deployment methodology should be planned in advance. Development of packages and respective objects should be done systematically.
    Source control mechanism
    Disk space and memory usage
You might or might not have full rights on production environment, so be prepared to analyze production environment via Select statements [I guess you got my point]
Proper implementation of Landing , Staging and Mart tables.
Column size (this can drastically decrease your database size)
Usage of indexes (Index are good, but at what cost?)
I hope this will assist you in building your check list.

    Hi,
I did not make any console adjustments for debugging on my WebLogic 10.3.2.0 - however I am running in development mode on an "adminServer" (an option during the install)
In the console there is a debug setup page - that seems to have no effect for me (I can always debug) - so either it is a combination of development mode and/or the startWeblogic script from the Eclipse plugin.
However, these debug settings are likely for debugging into the server - you only want to debug your own app code right?
    On the console page goto
    http://localhost:7001/console/console.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ServerDebugPage
    servers | AdminServer | configuration-debug | expand weblogic
    I see...
"Use this page to define debug settings for this server.

I tried all possible ways with google help but still i am facing the same issue.Kindly check and suggest to solve the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Vijay.

    Hi all,
I give you the clear details about the issue what i am currently facing,
    1. I installed the 11g (11.2.0) database alone(No EBS) in my local vmware machine.
    2. Created my ORACLE_HOME under /u01/oracle/prod/tech_st/product/11.2.0/db_1 directory after that i tried to change my home location from /u01/oracle/prod/tech_st/product/11.2.0/db_1 location to /u01/oracle/db/tech_st/product/11.2.0/db_1 location, like created /u01/oracle/db directory and moved files from /u01/oracle/prod location.
    3. I changed my bash_profile and exported home with the modified location also deregistered an old home and registered the new home.
    4. When i am issuing echo $ORACLE_HOME it is showing the current home location and ORACLE_SID is same what i created before.
    5. But when i am trying to create one more db using DBCA utility it is through the above error.
Please suggest me is it possible to change the location after db creation or any extra steps i have to do for this issue.
    Thanks.

  • Remote debugging an executable with dynamically loaded subpanel VIs

    All,
A colleague of mine is attempting to perform remote debugging of an executable he has inherited. It includes subpanels that show dynamically loaded VIs. When connecting with the remote debugger, the main executable shows fine, but the dynamically loaded VIs are not showing their front panels. They appear ok on the remote PC where the executable is running, but they don't appear on his laptop from where he is running the debugger.
I don't have access to LabVIEW currently, and he cannot get this to work, so I thought I'd ask the community this generic question:
"Is it possible to remotely debug a LabVIEW executable with subpanels that show dynamically loaded subVIs?"
Technically he can see and probe the block diagram of the main executable, but the subpanels are blank where the dynamcally loaded subVI front panel should show, making it impossible to interact with the program.

Thanks Josh. Does this issue have a CAR number I can tag?

  • Help with strange error Can't load IA 32-bit .so on a IA 32-bit platform

    Hi guys
I'm stuck on this problem for so long, it would be great if some one can help me out. I use jni to build a interface to access an native library and I have successfully get in running on my development environment, but when at deployment to another box, I get the following message.
    /data/tomcat/app/libXXX.so Can't load IA 32-bit .so on a IA 32-bit platform
I have checked the configuration of LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to the dir of the libXXX.so file. Is this error caused by dynamic link library missing something when it is moved to the deployment environment ? or is it because I'm not building it properly ? or the os version version ?? Thanks a lot guys.
the libXXX.so is build using the following line:
    gcc -g -fno-exceptions -fPIC -DPIC -shared -I$JAVA_HOME/include/ -I$JAVA_HOME/include/linux -I./include -I./lib/gcc/ -lapi_v2_Core -lgrammarsCNT -lCryptoLib -lcontainer -ledi -ledicont -ledixml -ltcpsocket -lzlib -lexpat XXX.c -o ../../../target/classes/libXXX.so
    Development Environment:
    Deployment Environment
    Tomcat Version = Apache Tomcat/5.5.14
    JVM Version =      1.5.0_11-b03
    OS Name = Linux

    OS Name = Linux
    OS Version = 2.4.21-15.0.3.ELsmp

  • Remote Servlet Debugging - can only see static member values

I'm trying to remotely debug a Servlet-based application running on Tomcat 5 from JDev 10.1.2.1.0 This is a rather large codebase that I've inherited, and its being compiled via Ant.
I am able to successfully attach to the server 'debugee' process, and breakpoints that I set in JDev are stopped at, but when it comes to viewing variable values in the code, the only values that I can see are those of static variables. Others yield no value when I hold the mouse over then, and if I hilight the variable and choose "Inspect" from the popup menu, I get "?" for the type and the value of the variable.
I created a brand new project with a simple Servlet accessing a simple class (w/ instance members, local method variables, etc) and I'm able to debug that and see instance and method variable values.
I can't figure out why this is occurring. Has anyone else seen or experienced this type of behavior before?
    Appreciate any help!
    Thanks

    Liz,
YOU ARE SUCH A STUD-ette!!!!! That was the problem - I inherited this codebase, which is using Ant for compilation, and it didn't have the 'debug="on"' attribute set on the javac task. I added that and did a clean build and its now debugging like it should be - LIFE IS GOOD!
Thank You VERY VERY Much! I'm a relative beginner to JPDA, and this was exactly the type of insight that I'm lacking. (and now I'm going to go quietly read the docs on JPDA - I should have at least been able to figure that out... <:-)
    Thanks a million!
