List (as in ...lcdui.List) default action...?

I'm having some problems with a List, as stated in the topic.
I'm writing a small chat client, and the contents of the list is the currently online users.
When it's empty, everything is fine, and there is only one soft button mapped to a command ("Open chat").
However, when the list is NOT empty, another command suddenly pops up, ("Select", translated from swedish), as the default (left soft button).
When I click the select button, it appears to restart my whole MainLoop() function and connect again, without disconnecting, etc.
So, my question is: How do I change the action for the select button, to make that one "Open chat" instead?

Thanks, but never mind.
As with most bugs, it was my stupid programming that was the fault of this. :)
If anyone else is having the same problem, which I doubt, here's the thing:

     if (c == List.SELECT_COMMAND && (List)d == mainMenu)
          switch (((List)d).getSelectedIndex())
               case 0:
                              // ... main menu options
     ... other actions here
       else if (c == List.SELECT_COMMAND || c == openChatCommand)
           // Open chat window
       }I'm sure you all see that List.SELECT_COMMAND is processed twice (well, actually only once, since it'll never get to the second clause).
Anyway, the quite easy solution was to check whether the Displayable d was mainMenu or the user list.
