List of business objects

Hi all,
Is it possible in the DI API to get a list of business objects (for example business partners) from the Company object or do I have to use a recordset with an SQL statement? If so, how. And if not, where do I find a translation of tablenames (e.g.: AACP, INV6 etc.) to business objects.
This seems a pretty generic question, but I cannot seem to find the answer. Does anyone have a pointer to good reading on the DI API subject?
Thanks!
Best regards.
Chris G.

It works on other object too, of course.

• Attachment list for business objects is not visible

Dear all
I have connected an external server to SAP.
Created repository and created Doc types (say for ex : ZFIINV, ZMM DRW) and created entries using tcode OAC3
now i have assigned my doc type to corresponding Business Objects (BKPF for accounting doc,BUS2105 for purchase requisition ,MKPF for MM related docs)
now i have created entries for my scanned docs in table TOA01.
i can search an display these docs which are already placed there in my content server. but i can not see these documents links entries in the attachment list of corresponding Business objects entries.
for example in BO : BKPF attachment list i cant see al the link entries .
please suggest whether any BO is not published or R/3 application connection to the generic object service is not done?
thanks sandeep

Hi Sandeep,
I am not totallt getting your point but can suggest following points:
1. Check whether these object are displaying in DIR's as object links.
2. If it is there then it shoud be displayed in document data of those objects.
3. Check that documents are properly checked-in.
Hope this may help.

• RFC for getting a list of business objects.

Hi!
I'm currently using the RFC "RPY_BOR_TREE_INIT" (I am setting the "ALLOBJTYPS" column in the "FILTER_OBJECT_TYPES" input structure to "X") to retrieve a list of all business objects along with the hierachy.
I get back a table having nearly 2000 rows. I now want to display these in a hierarchical fashion similar to how the BAPI explorer does it. However, I see that for a number of rows in the table returned via the RFC above, the BAPI explorer does not show those categories/objects.
I wanted to know how does the BAPI explorer decide whether a category/object needs to be displayed or not. In my application, I want to display the exact same hierarchy as the BAPI explorer, and currently my app is displaying a lot of extra stuff.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have no idea who else to ask. My SAP consultants dont have any idea, and so we raised a help request with SAP, but they've said that since RPY_BOR_TREE_INIT is meant only for internal use, they wont help us.
Is there any other RFC (meant for public use) which I can use to display the exact same tree as the BAPI explorer?
Thanks,
Mustansir

• Which business objects do allow searching the associated file attachments?

Hello search experts,
SAP Note 1249465 - TREX 7.1: Installing TREX for Embedded Search states:
"Embedded search enables every SAP Business Suite application to search in a unified way inside its business objects (structured data) and associated file attachments (unstructured data)."
Is there a list of business objects where the search in the associated file attachments is supported? I'm specially interested in the SAP CRM business objects. But a list for SAP ERP and the other Business Suite components would be nice too.
Best regards
Gregor

Hi Ritwik,
for the Cycle 3 of Customer Connection for SAP CRM that was started last year this idea was submitted:
Integrate documents (attachments) into CRM embedded search
https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/10637
unfortunately this topic spans cross multiple software components. The development was started but got stuck. In the moment the status of this request is "Handed over - Already in development planning (Handed over to Product / CEI topic owner)". So let's hope we will see a standard solution sooner or later.
Best regards

• Business Object linked to application document

hi All,
Is there any standard tcode or way to find out a given business object is linked to what all application documents?
Like for example i would like to know BO FIPP is linked or can be used for what all documents or tcodes??
How can find out??
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Raj

Hello Raj,
this is indeed a sad thing, not having a control table that links transaction codes to objects or classes. The GOS-Integration (Generic Object Services) are implemented within each transaction and usually the business object types used there are hard coded.
You can have a look at the where-used-list of ABAP class CL_GOS_MANAGER. You'll find an example here, include LMEORF1M at form routine bus2053_object_publish. There you'll see the common way of how objects are used/published.
Furthermore, the event creation/handling is also usually hard coded.
Not all transactions that make use of business objects, also use the GOS. So you'll always get a part of this.
You can also have a look at the where-used-list of Business Object Interface IFGOS.
Best wishes

• Business Object importer doesn't display objects

Hi,
I have done required configuations in R/3 system .If I go to DQE --> metadata improter and select the R/3 system it list all Business Objects.
But if I go to Business Object importer and select the system it doesn't show any BO.
Any idea ??
Regards,
Abdul Raheem .S

HI
DOn't know if it can help you. From the available business object list, don't attempt to expand your sysmet aliase but only highlight this and execute "Add" that should have been sufficient enough.
But I find SAP's documentation is really bad in unification part on how to get drag and relate functional. Really very bad and waste customer's lot of valuable of time to try and test.

• Use a dynamic list of email addresses to email a report via Business Objects Server 11

Post Author: wolfgang666
CA Forum: General
I use Business Objects Server version 11 to distribute reports via email but was asked if there was a way to only send the reports to those people listed in the report (which changes daily) instead of the entire distribution list. I can create a list of email addresses as a variable within the report but can't find any way to pass it to the Business Objects server "To:" field located in the destination screen. I would expect to see some option for sending to some value located in the report but alas no such option is evident. This seems like a feature the product should be capable of doing as it is so basic. Any other way to do this that anybody can think of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Matt Frazier

Hi Alan,
The simplest thing would be to simply use the Import Wizard to create a BIAR file and then back up the required CR's and instances to the BIAR file. So for instance you would use the "Import Folders and Objects" option. So the source system would be the system you are decomissioning and the Destination would be the BIAR file. Once that is done you can use the BIAR file to import the report content into another system in the future.

• Object Link to CRM business object in Trex search result list

Hello Everyone,
has anybody sucessfully configured the functionality "Object Link Properties" which is described in the Document Configuring the Business Package for SAP CRM 5.0 SP01 (EN) on Page 169? I'm not the Knowledge Management specialist and would get some help on this topic. Has anybody detailed steps how to configure this?
It shounds interresting as the result would be that when the User does a full text search for Attached Documents he will also get a link to the original CRM business object like Activity, Account or Opportunity.
Regards
Gregor

Hi Gregor,
Thanks for your reply.
using windows explorer mechanism i can see the folders that i created in the CRM config.
Now in Portals KM i did the following steps:
a) Created an HTTP Data Source : with URL = the URL that the service crm_prt_km_dav generates.
http://abrusux156h.pch.chem.corp.local:8086/sap/crm/crm_prt_km_dav
b)Created a memory cache
c)Created a WebDAV respository manager with the following details:
Description :WebDAV
Prefix : /PRD (PRD is the BO Hierarchy name that i have set in the CRM config)
System ID : T86 (Sames as what was set in HTTP Data Source)
Repository Service : svc_acl
ACL Manager cache : ca_cm
Security manager : ACLSecurityManager
Memory Cache :webDAV(same as what i had set in step b)
I restarted the portal server. and then tried doing the test by going to
Content Admin ->KM Content ->root
But i dont see the /PRD folder out there.
Any clues on that???
Thanks,
Anand
