Listen to a database table (inserts, deletes etc)?

Hi,
is there a chance to listen for a database table for updates?
The programm should not stress the system. I'm looking for something like a listener in JAVA.

Wow! Two development systems, a dream for many! I now see your dilemma. I don't think this can be resolved by an IT solution. You need a project management solution. Your project managers who oversee the developers and configurators on both systems should come up with a strategy of not to step on each other toes. Let us say one works on SD configuration on one system and other works on MM configuration on another. That way they will not be doing the same thing. Then there will be those touch/integration points where there should be clear cut guideline as to who does what. As far as developers are concerned, they should also have clear naming standards and should follow them.
I am curious as to why you have two development systems. Will it not lead to duplication of work(as you see now). Then there will be the problems of one overwriting the work of others. Even if two seperate projects are in development on two different boxes, if both need to configure the same activity but different way, will it not lead to one overwriting others work?
How are you keeping the two development environments in sync with each other? Is the purpose of two development environments is to do independent developments or is it to just provide more bandwidth and power. If it is the second reason, then have you tried a landscape similar to most production systems, where there will be multiple servers working, yet sharing the same database(distributed architecture)? If it is the first, then proper guidelines and naming standards should avoid most of those situations.
Even, the enqueuing strategy you are looking for will be difficult to design. If you look at SPRO, there are at least 100 tasks that you can do there, and some thousands of tables will be there behind those tasks, so how are you design your enqueue table, by task or by individual table? Add to the mix the development objects, it becomes even more complicated and don't forget basis and security changes. If you design your enqueue table based on the transport objects, it will be difficult to know the content of the transport, excepts at a metadata level. Also, can you imagine how much space this table(s) going to take up?
So many questions, but no answers. A technical solution is not necessarily always the best solution, even though I am technical person!!! Either your scope should be very limited to do such a thing, or you should tackle it with non-technically, standards, procedures and guidelines.

How should I get these icons? How should I attach these icons to the buttons/Image item in Oracle Forms ?
Should I give the file path of these icons in property palette of an item in Oracle forms?

WIth regards to attach icons to button/text item in Oracle forms,I am still facing problem.
As you said, I created the parameter/variable UI_ICONS in Forms Home and gave the value pointing to the directory holding the .ico files.
And then set the iconic property of the button and the icon's name without its extension.
But it didn't work.Could ypu please let me know what is going wrong?

Access is not inserting, updating or deleting records in my database table on the server

I am having a problem with an application I developed using Dreamweaver 8 and Access 2000 several years ago which is no longer working correctly. The problem is that Access is not inserting, updating or deleting records in my database table on the server but is reflected in changes to my Web site. I used the Dreamweaver server behaviors: insert record, update record and delete record to make the changes to my Access table on the server. My Access table on the server shows all of the records I inserted or updated in the past, but not any of the newly inserted on updated records.
does any one have any ideas as to what my problem is?

No, that has nothing to do with your problem. Let's make sure I understand the symptoms.
1) Your site is online at a remote host.
2) You use a dynamic page in your online site to update a database record (insert, delete, or update)
3) The update then appears correctly on your dynamic content page.
4) You download the mdb and it appears to not have any of the upates you just made.
Please correct any of these statements if they are wrong.
If the above is correct, then you must be looking at a cached mdb, or the mdb you are looking at is in the wrong location. Do this: search your entire drive for copies of the mdb, including in the Windows temp directories which is likely where the cached copy is located. Delete any extra copies and download again.

Delete rows in database table

Hi,
As of now in Xcelsius/Dashboard Design there is no feature or functionality to insert/update/delete data from database.
Solution:
Create a Web service in let’s say C# or Java, which will perform insert/update/delete operation.
In Xcelsius add Web Service connection and user above web service.
Xcelsius Web Service connection provides option to pass input values to a Web Service (Input Pane) and get the result (Output values pane).
We can pass values to be written to the database as a input to Web Service via Web Service connection from Xcelsius and write data to the database.
Note:
Performing delete operation from Xcelsius Dashboard could be risky and may delete important data from database. I would not prefer giving delete option/functionality in Xcelsius dashboard.

Inserting values from a PL SQL table to a database table

Hi,
Here is my dilemma.
I have values inserted to a pl sql table which I have gathered from a web page. Now I need to add these same values to a database table. I see the values as 1-'AA', 2='BB' etc.
I use the following code to insert to a outside table in the database and it seems to be crashing.
for i in app_table.first .. app_table.last loop
r_convention(i).priority_country_code:=app_table(i);
insert into test_countries
values (test_seq,tion(i).r_convention(i).priority_country_code);
commit;
end loop;
WHen I run this code I see the values. But it goes to the first value and then crashes and does not go through the
rest of the values. What am I missing here?

How to delete a row from database table in facade client

Hi all,
I followed the tutorial in creating a persistence entity from database table, then a session facade. Then I followed the tutorial to create a sample client to test the model. In the session facade, I could use persistEntity method to insert a record to the database. I am just thinking of an extension to the tutorial, i.e., being able to delete the record too. So I created a new method removeEntity in the session facade
public void removeEntity(Object entity) {
entity=em.merge(entity);
em.remove(entity);
em.flush();
and called it in the sample client. It was executed without any error, but the record in the table still exists.
I tried to look around for a solution, but I did not find one. Would anybody here please help out? Many thanks in advance!

How to delete the complete contents of database table ? should be empty !!

How do I insert/Delete/Update a row to the DB Table from Business Component Browser

I am using the wizard and created a project containing Business component which contain some table.
When I run the project I could see "Oracle Business Component Browser(local)" and when I select some table from "View Object Member" I get a window displaying all the field of that table and I could browse all the info.
My Problem is when I try to insert a new record/Delete the existing record or update some record it never gets reflected to the DataBase.
When I try to insert a new row I did save and there was a dialog box displayed saying "Transaction ID is 1". But finally It's not reflected in the Database.
Can some one guide me how can I do insert/delete/update operation from Oracle Component Business Browser so that the changes reflect to the Original DataBase.

This may be a problem of caching. If you do an update,insert, or delete, and do not receive an error, then the transaction should indeed be posted.
I assume you are hitting the Save icon after your changes if you are getting a transaction ID. Are you checking for the updates through another session (i.e. SQL*Plus), or do you then requery the View Object in the tester? Do you exit the tester and come back in and not see the changes?

Dynamic record deletion from database table

I need to delete selected records from database table(dynamic names). Table names are being passed from main program with some of their field names. The record to be deleted from the database table is being decided based on the fields passed for the table and their contains passed from the main program.
It is not possible to write dynamic where clause for DELETE statement directly.
So, I created a dynamic internal table and i am trying to fetch all records using SELECT statement(for which we can write dynamic where condition, something like...SELECT...WHERE (itab). ) which need to be deleted in the iternal table.
Piece of code :
          CONCATENATE c_im v_tablefield1 INTO v_imprtfield1.
          CONCATENATE v_tablefield1 c_in v_imprtfield1
                   into s_condition separated by space.
          APPEND s_condition TO t_condition.
          PERFORM GET_DYNAMIC_ITAB USING s_flds_agtab-tabname
                                changing t_itab.
          ASSIGN t_itab->* TO <itab>.
*Select the data (to be deleted) from the database table
           SELECT * FROM (s_flds_agtab-tabname) INTO TABLE <itab>
             WHERE (t_condition).

Here t_condition is of standard table of WHERETXT.
t_condition at the run time before giving dump was:

I would like to know whether "IN" operator is allowed in (itab) of WHERE clause. While testing I changed the "IN" to "=" specifying a suitable value there. It worked. So please let me know if i can give "IN" operator using renge table in the dynamic where clause.

Hi again, so if you can not use the IN in a dynamic where clause you might be forced to dynamically build the entire select statement, Here is a sample program which may give you some ideas, notice that we are writing the select statement code, putting it in another program and generating the subroutine at runtime, then call this routine. Oracle Auditing for Insert/delete in a Table

Dear Oracle Guru's
I have a Master table for which records are added manually using the Insert command and not by any front end tools.
I have no Auditing for this table , like when an insert/delete is made in to this table.
Does oracle provides any other Tables/views like v$session to find out when such events happens.
Kindly guide me

Probably not.
If your database is in ARCHIVELOG mode and you have the archived logs from the point in time that the DML happened, you could potentially use LogMiner to read the redo logs and get information about when the DML happened and who was responsible. That tends, however, to be a relatively painful manual process that is frequently complicated by the fact that most shops get rid of archived logs as soon as they are no longer necessary for database recovery which is frequently a matter of days or weeks.

Insert delete or update entry in Custom table from KONV entry changed

Hi All,
I have custom table ZKONV with only few required columns and should have same number of records as KONV has at any point in time.
KONV is a cluster table so its not readable from ORACLE level. So ZKONV is created. But I dont know how to keep these both tables in sync.
I need to perform insert delete or update entry in Custom table if insert delete or update happens on cluster table KONV from any transactions.
As KONV is a cluster table and does not have changed time stamp I am not able to know the number of records changed in perticulat time period.

There is a Outside SAP system which needs to read KONV data to feed into their system, but as KONV is cluster table they are not able to read it from ORACLE level.
To solve this we are thinking to create a transparent Z-table and will fill it with KONV and catch Update, delete or Insert statement and do same on ZKONv.
Is this possible some how? by some database event or something....

Delete from database Table

Hi,
To delete data from database table using internal table I am using following statement.
DELETE dbtab FROM TABLE itab.
Itab is a sorted table.Just wondering if table type matters while deleting database entries using internal table.which is efficient table type for deleting records from database table?

The row type of the internal table must be a data object with at least the same length and alignment as the key structure of the database table. The key is read according to the structure of the table line, and not that of the row type. It is a good idea to define the row type with reference to the structure of the database table.

Besides, it is so technical what algorithm is run to delete records from the DB table when an internal table is given. If you want you can have a quick test using GET TIME. However, it seems logical that if your internal table is sorted with respect to any index, especially the primary index, of the DB table this may increase performance.

Insert a new record in the database table in between the records.

i va a database table which ve 100 records. but i want to insert my new record as 50th record. how i want to proceed?

This is an odd request. Why?
Ignoring that, you can ATTEMPT to insert into the 50th position IF:
1) The DB table has just had the primary key index re-built/re-shuffled to GUARANTEE that it IS in primary key order
2) And the primary key of the new record is built so that it follows the 49th record
Regardless, once this table has activity against it, its sort order can/will get out of promary key order (with adds/changes/deletes).
But when you select data from it, you can use ORDER BY or an ABAP SORT to organzie the date as needed.
Again... not sure WHY you need a record in a particular physical position... who cares... it is a relational DB.
