Listing the children of a tree node

Hi
I have a jsf page where left side is a tree and the right side is divided into two panes(Top & Bottom). Top pane in the edit view of the selected node which is working fine using a backing bean to set the current row(As in the example of Devloper Guide Book).In the bottm pane I need to list the table of children of the selected node. How can I do this ?
The tree is built on the basis of parent id in the same table.
Thanks

Hi,
if you use ADF
1. Open the table (Property Inspector "pencil" icon in toolbar). Then expand the tree node "DataSource" area and open the EL edito by pressing the button).
2. Navigate to the iterator that represents the input form / table. Make sure that the table is built on an iterator not dependent on any other collection

  • How to directly change the text of a tree node once its in the tree

    How can I directly change the text of a tree node once its in the tree.
    I have a property box which fires an eventevery time it is edited
    (this is currently just output to the screen via println)
    What i want is for the tree node to take the updated text that is in the text box every time
    thus giving tree labels that update as you type
    PS. i have access to the tree node (DefaultMutableTreeNode) from the code that hanldes
    the text box event

    ... use the setUserObject() method of your DefaultMutableTreeNode, that'll set the text of the node.
    however, you probably need to do a treeModel.nodeChanged(node) with your tree model, to get the display updated.

  • Recursive function to find the parents of a tree node

    Hi,
    I need help to write a recursive function to get the parents of a tree node upto the root.The major problem is , each node can have more than one parent.I have two methods ; one to get the immediate parents(getParents() will return me a vector) and the other to get the parents upto the root(will also return me a vector).
    Thanks in advance,
    nanduvs

    let me risk a dumb response ..
    if there are multiple parents
    why not just follow the first parent
    back to the root
    if everything starts at one root

  • What is the difference between WHEN-TREE-NODE-ACTIVATED and

    Hello
    Pls tell me, what is the difference between:
    WHEN-TREE-NODE-ACTIVATED Trigger and
    WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED Trigger
    Best Regards,
    Abdetu..

    in the WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED trigger:
    When selecting
    IF :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE_SELECTED = 'TRUE' THEN
      :GLOBAL.VARIABLE := <a value>;
      :PARAMETER.PARAM1 := <a value>;
      GO_BLOCK('BLOCK_B');
      EXECUTE_QUERY;
    END IF;
    When deselecting
    IF :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE_SELECTED = 'FALSE' THEN
      ERASE('GLOBAL.VARIABLE');
      :PARAMETER.PARAM1 := NULL;
      GO_BLOCK('BLOCK_B');
      CLEAR_BLOCK(NO_VALIDATE);
    END IF;Of course this is a simple example.

  • How can I update the children after updating a node in a tree?

    Hi everyone.
    I'm trying to update a subtree programatically while using a managed bean as data source.
    All topics I can find are about using VOs and JUCtrlHierNodeBinding.updateValuesFromRows.
    Now I need to find some way to directly update nodes without any Row. What should I do?

    I found out that the HTML tag ADF generated has a attribute like "id='0_1_2_3'", that means I can find the sub-tree with JavaScript.
    But it was not tested 'cause I don't think it would be stable.
    it looks like this:
    StringBuffer clientId = new StringBuffer(node.getLevel_id() * 4);
    while (node != null)
         clientId.insert(0, node.getData_frame_id());
         clientId.insert(0, '_');

                  function disableSubTree(id)
                      // find the adfrichtree component and traverse it, trying to find the sub-tree and modify the nodes

  • How to set the control-on hierarchical tree nodes

    Hi,
    I have created form in which at the left it has hierarchical tree structure(BOM) and towards the right it brings up the query results for selected node.
    Now, I have a button upon clicking which I navigate to the root node by issuing
    "Ftree.set_Tree_selection(htree, 1, Ftree.select_on);".
    But, it cannot automatically run the ' when-tree-node-selected' trigger '.
    any solution???
    Its really urgent.I have a customer demo on monday.
    Please help me asap.
    regards,
    Nagadeep.

    Hello Nagadeep,
    couldn't you just put the code from the trigger into a procedure
    and run that after the navigation to the item?
    Just a thought,
    Bernd
    The docs state that:
    No programmatic action will cause the When-Tree-Node-Selected trigger to fire. Only end-user action will generate an event.
    Probably due to performance reasons.

  • Displaying the entire text of a tree node when the tree isnt wide enough

    Hi,
    I have a JTree displayed in a JScrollPane, so there is a chance that some of the tree data may be hidden if the tree's width is insufficient, so when the user moves the cursor over a tree node whose text is not completely visible (cut off by the right edge of the scroll pane and/or window), a tooltip is displayed to show the entire node text. So far so good!
    If the user double click a node in the tree a new window is supposed to be opened. This works fine if the tooltip hasnt been displayed jet, but if it has then the user has to click 3 times to open the window.
    The first time to remove the tooltip and the next 2 opens the window.
    How can I awoid this?
    Thanks!!!!

  • Multi-select Tree Nodes Function

    Hello,
    I have a tree control built from XML using an HTTPService

    to do is, if you click on a parent node to select it, all children
    of that tree node would be selected automatically as well, building
    the "selectedItems" array.
    Does anyone have any idea how I could accomplish this with a
    click action function?

    Do you mean programatically? Because I can retrieve the array
    values of multiple items when I manually select them in the
    tree,

  • How to display a search(query) on a report clicking on a tree node to open

    I need to know how can I do with that when I press on the link(on a tree node(leaf)), open on the other region in the same page a classic or interactive report with my results(passed by parameter, example: ID).
    One example are present on web site posted below:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:34:1599336964673301::NO:::
    I have tried this to composite my tree:
    select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0 when level = 1 then 1 else -1 end as status, level, "NAME" as title, null as icon, "ID" as value, null as tooltip, decode(level, 1, 'f?p=&APP_ID.:106:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||ID, 2,'f?p=&APP_ID.:106:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||(ID-1000), 3,'f?p=&APP_ID.:104:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||(ID-10000), 4,'f?p=&APP_ID.:105:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||(ID-100000)) as link from "#OWNER#"."V_TREE1" start with "PID" is null connect by prior "ID" = "PID" order siblings by "NAME"
    But the parameter passed dont do with the report change your view to the one row with ID passed. I need to obtain the same results showed on website posted above.

    Thank you so much for your help.

    Muhammad,
    you can add a user parameter (p_count), which get the default value value 1 for example. Then add a field (with some source of type character like desname) for your footer with a format trigger like
    if :p_count=1 then
         srw.set_field_char(0,'Office Copy');
    elsif :p_count=2 then
         srw.set_field_char(0,'Shop Copy');
    else
         srw.set_field_char(0,'Account Dept Copy');
    end;
    return true;
    Or you build 3 boilerplates with format triggers like
    if :p_count=1 then return true; else return false; end if; for "Office Copy" .....
    In the After Report Trigger start the Report with same paramters using a higher value for p_count as parameter. If p_count=3, do nothing in the trigger.

  • Invalid B-tree node size (3,0) error - what is it??

    Yesterday I had a HDD issue on my iMac (OSX 10.5) with an 'invalid node structure' error. I eventually managed to boot into 'single user mode' and used #fsck_hfs -rf /dev/disk0s2 at the command prompt. This got OSX up and running properly again. I then repaired the permissions and the disk using the disk repair utility.
    Today, I have had a complete system freeze which necessitated a cold reboot. Since then nothing has worked. I can't boot in safe mode, single user mode or verbose mode. I tried resetting the PRAM and attempted to boot from a system install disk without initial success. After about half an hour the disk icon appeared on the screen and I could boot from the install disk. I then used the terminal to try 'fsck_hfs -rf' again. This time I got the error 'Invalid B-tree node size (3,0)'. What does this mean and what do I do now?? Most forums seem to suggest using 'Disk Warrior'. Since this costs about $170 in Australia I am unlikely to take this option. Having been unemployed for more than 5 months I am more likely to attempt replacing the drive myself. However, I'd prefer to take another approach if there is one. Any suggestions?? Would it be better to give up on replacing the internal drive and try for a bootable external HDD? Too slow?

    HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Check out TechToolPro but they might be even more $$$.
    Unfortunately, it takes a robust disk utility to repair an invalid tree node. Your best bet really is DiskWarrior
    *"Would it be better to give up on replacing the internal drive and try for a bootable external HDD? Too slow? "*
    You could use a bootable external drive but there again you are looking at an investment.

  • WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED Action required..!

    Hello all,
    i am using a tree for the first time, i want to reflect the value of the node's id and desc in it's database item where they r inserted.
    The problem is the desc is not displayed NOT.
    But the node id is working just fine..Why ?
    Can anyone help me pls..?
    i am using the following code:
    WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED Trigger:
    :EQUIPMENT_TYPE_D := :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE;
    --The above returns the item_id of the node.
    BEGIN
           SELECT EQUIPMENT_TYPE
           INTO :EQUIPMENT_TYPE
           FROM INSP_EQUIPMENT_TYPE
           WHERE EQUIPMENT_TYPE_D = :EQUIPMENT_TYPE_D ;
    Exception
    When No_Data_Found THEN NULL;
    When Others THEN
                                     Message ('OTHERS' || SQLCODE || ' And ' || SQLERRM);
                                     Message ('OTHERS' || SQLCODE || ' And ' || SQLERRM);
    END;Regards,
    Abdetu..

    The WHEN-TREE-NODE-SELECTED trigger fires twice, it fires when selecting the node and when deselcting the node.
    First make sure that you SQL works in SQL*Plus, Handle your EXCEPTION correctly, remove the NULL from your exception and put a message, maybe your SQL is not returning any rows.
    add the below if condition in your trigger. This will make your code to be executed only when you select the node and not when you deselect it.
    IF :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE_SELECTED = 'TRUE' THEN
      ...    --Your execution code
    END IF; If your item name is the node's label itself you can easily do this:
    IF :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE_SELECTED = 'TRUE' THEN
      :your_block.your_item  := FTREE.GET_TREE_NODE_PROPERTY(HTREE$, :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NODE, FTREE.NODE_LABEL);
    END IF; Tony

  • Folder icon display at richfaces tree node

    Hello All,
    I would like to use richfaces tree structure.
    But the issue with that is the folder icon display at each tree node.
    For some reason i don't want the folder icon at the tree node.
    Is there anyway to get rid of that?
    I tried to change the image (iconFolder.gif) to some 1X1 pixel image in the richfaces jar file.
    But when i added the new jar with new image for icon, that image is not loading.
    I'm using Jboss4.2 as my application server.
    Please help me to remove the folder display at tree node.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Elizabath

    Hi,
    I could see the icon attribute to specify the folder icon at the node. I placed a 1x1 pixel image as the iconfolder image. But that results in a blank pixel at the node. I wish to get rid of that.
    Also i wanted to change the navigation images too. i would like to have the + and - sign images instead of arrows.
    Any suggestions?

  • Editing Tree Node

    Hi, I am able to edit the name of a tree node. However, when the editor comes up, it is in append mode. So, I have to backspace on the existing text then type my new name. How do I open the editor in overwrite mode so that I can just start typing the new name.
    Thanks!

    You bind a mouselistener to the tree, so it has to be handled there.
    When clicking once (method should be "mouseReleased" or something, treenodes name (toString) should be .setText("");
