Folder icon display at richfaces tree node

Hello All,
I would like to use richfaces tree structure.
But the issue with that is the folder icon display at each tree node.
For some reason i don't want the folder icon at the tree node.
Is there anyway to get rid of that?
I tried to change the image (iconFolder.gif) to some 1X1 pixel image in the richfaces jar file.
But when i added the new jar with new image for icon, that image is not loading.
I'm using Jboss4.2 as my application server.
Please help me to remove the folder display at tree node.

Hi,
I could see the icon attribute to specify the folder icon at the node. I placed a 1x1 pixel image as the iconfolder image. But that results in a blank pixel at the node. I wish to get rid of that.
Also i wanted to change the navigation images too. i would like to have the + and - sign images instead of arrows.
Any suggestions?

just give it the name of an icon without the '.ico' extension. If you run it on the Web then the icon must be available in a gif format. Just the name nothing else. Make sure that in c/s the icon is in a directory mapped by the UI_ICON variable in of the Window Registry. For configuring icons on teh Web, have a look at this paper

If you need different folder icons on different tree levels, then instead of using a query, use a record group to populate the tree.

Needing to use xml data source to populate richfaces tree nodes

Hey I cant seem to figure this out. I know I probably need to write some java code but Im not sure how it should look. I have some xml and I need to use the data from within the elements to populate some nodes on a richfaces tree.
I know how to use a .properties file as the data source for the nodes, and how to use some existign nodes to populate the nodes. Both are done with java code I can post here if needed.
But I dont know how to go about writing the java code to take the data from xml elements, and then somehow parse it to use in a richfaces tree.

Need Help -- How to Change the icon of a selected Tree Node

Hi java gurus,
i am working on Jtree application, and i am adding image icons to the Nodes.
my dought is when i select a node, i want to display that selected node as opened and all other icons should remain closed.
Example:

Here if i am selecting Child2 means, only the image icon of that child2 should open the nodes and display the icon , all other icons from root to subchild should remain same as closed.

Display Checkbox along Tree node and its child elements

Experts,
I want to display a checkbox in front of the Tree displayed in the view. This is used for me to select the child item value for my selection condition.
let say if the user selects the node, all the child elements will be used for search condition.
Otherwise, if the node is expanded, then the checkbox selected in the child element will be used for search condition...
Can u ppl suggest me how to design it, if possible can u share some sample code or procedure to customize the Tree as per the requirement...

Netscape using plugin doesn't display Japanese characters in a tree node

Hi,
I have a problem displaying a swing tree node name in Japanese. The problem only occurs on Netscape browsers. When I run the same applet with Internet Explorer, all the Japanese displays correctly. Now, with Netscape, the node name is displayed in little rectangle characters but the tooltip is displayed in Japanese. I don't believe I have any problem with the Java code because it works with IE.
I am using the java 1.3.1_01 plugin on a Windows NT machine that has a Japanese OS. I've also installed Japanese versions of Netscape. Also, Netscape is able to display my help files in Japanese correctly, so I am wondering if the problem is with the java plugin.
Any clues?

Found the problem. I set a font type of Arial. It's best to set the type to MS Gothic, or dont' set it at all so the system default font is used.

Tree Nodes has White Outline/Border

Hi,
I'm using an ADF tree located inside a panelGroupLayout.
The panelGroupLayout has the background color "light blue".
At runtime each tree node is displayed with a surrounding white outline and that can only appear when you have a background color different than white (in my case the panelGroupLayout is "light blue").
Does anybody knows how to remove that outline? or to change its color?

gets the "Label" of the tree node not the value of the selected nodei tried both but nothing retrieved...!
i thought that the value is the serial of the node and the lable is the text displayed on the tree node no ?

Exclamation Point Folder Icon

Ok... I am having serious iPod issues. Its an iPod mini 2nd gen, 6 GB. I dropped it while working out, and now all it shows is an icon of a folder and an exclamation point. I have tried everything except a restore, but I can't even get it to show up in iTunes or in Windows Explorer when I connect it to my computer, so I can't force it into disk mode or do a restore. It never had this problem before I dropped it. Is it forever dead? Is there any way to get my music off it even if it won't function anymore? I don't have the songs backed up on my computer. Help!
I have toggled the hold button.
I have held down the menu button and the select button simultaneously for 6-10 secs as instructed...several times.
I've updated my iTunes.
I have tried forcing the iPod into disk mode by resetting it and then holding the select button and play/pause button. It doesn't work.
I still have the "Exclamation point and Folder" icon displayed on my iPod mini.

I'm having the same problems with mine, a 30G iPhoto. I plugged it into my computer and it didn't get recognized at all. I unplugged it and that's when the folder and exclamation point showed up. I have tried just about everything on these forums: reset, hold switch toggle, disc mode and several scans, even the smack on the hard surface (which worked last time I ran into a problem, which that time was the frown face.) The document linked above talks about restoring the iPod, but I can't get it to show up on iTunes, so that doesn't seem to be an option. I can force it into disc mode, but so far no luck with any of the options there.
Any other options? Is it worth taking in to Apple? Thanks for any and all help!

ADF 10.1.3.0.4: tree leaf with no child nodes still displays folder icon?

I was reading through Frank Nimphius's Blog and found the entry entitled "ADF Faces: Building a hierarchical tree from recursive tables - October 05, 2006" and found a tree example in which a tree leaf with no child nodes do not display the folder icon.
I've followed the instructions listed with adf:tree, CoreTree and ChildPropertyTreeModel, but my tree leaves with no child nodes still displays the folder icon.
How do I remove this icon when the node is a leaf with no children?

Can Tree's folder icon node changed to different icon?

Hi,
Currently, the tree and tree table node's icon is a "folder" icon. Can this be customized to different icons? We would like to have different icons for the nodes for different level in the tree/tree table. For example, level 1's node is icon A; level 2's node is icon B, etc...
Any suggestions?

I think the right way of doingthis indeed is skinning. I would try to
- set a styleClass value to the styleClass property using EL against a managed bean method.
- The managed bean method now is called for each node. Use EL in the managed bea method to access the #{node} EL to determine the row you are on
- set the style class to e.g. level1, level2, level3
- Then in the skinning you use
level1 af|tree...{}
level2 af|tree...{}
To define the different icons for the tree levels. Note that using DAF all icons are using folders. So there is no sense in skinning leaf icons

Folder Icon in Trees

I'm using Forms 6i and need to use Hierarchial trees. I've never worked on tree items. I have somehow populated data to the tree but my problem now is i'm not able to display a folder icon for the nodes. I would be very grateful if someone could explain me from the basics, of how to show a folder icon in the nodes, also the icon should be different when a node is expanded ie. folder to be opened when node expanded and closed when node collapsed.

the initial icon can be set when creating the tree. There are two ways to create a tree, one to use a query and another to use a record group.
To set icons due to a user action (e.g. a node selection):

How to hide the default arrow icon of af:tree node

Hi All,
I am using Oracle JDeveloper 11g R2.
I want to hide the arrow icon which is displayed by default with af:tree node. The use case is to display custom icons for all the nodes. The problem is that when I am customizing icons of tree node, it is showing arrow as well as the icon with each node. Which doesn't seems fine. Can any one help/guide on how to hide the default af:tree node arrow icon.

Tree node icon from XML

Is there a way to define a linkage id to set the icon for the
tree component in external XML? This is what I tried and it does
not work.

The tree node is using the default folder icon. I know I
could set the icon after it is loaded but why cann't I just throw
in something to define the icon in the XML?

Display Tree node label/title on page

I'm using Apex version 4.
I have a tree and I want to display (below the tree) the label or title of the node value that's selected.
So my tree query is like:

How can I display the office_name on my report page below the tree? Can I somehow capture the value selected in a page item and then display that page item below the tree?

I think it is possible, i have not done it but let me explain how we can do it.
In <htmlb:treeNode> tag there is an attribute 'text' in
which we specify title of that treeNode.
Now you define a page attribute 'treeNodeTitle' type
edpline and in onCreate assign it value <html><b>MyTreeNode</b></html>
When you click on this node then you do event handling
in onInputProcessing, there assign only 'MyTreeNode' to
treeNodeTitle.
sample code may look like this...

id = 'treeNode1'
text = '<%=treeNodeTitle %>' >
</htmlb:treeNode>
Page Attribute
treeNodeTitle type edpline
in onCreate
