Little help in LDAP debugging for BOXI R2 SP3 on IIS

Hi, Once of my client is on BOXI R2 SP3 with IIS as web Application server on windows server 2003. We have LDAP authentication enabled which is working fine but sometime we get error when trying to add new LDAP user. We get error message that can not find DN for the user. When we try again after sometime then it works fine. I tried both web servers and case is same. So I don't know what is causing this.
I remember we can enable logging to get more information but don't know where especially in IIS. So I would like to know how I can enable tracing to get more information.
I tried Web server logging and Event viewer but found nothing.
Thanks,

Thanks next time this happens then I will enable tracing on CMS and see if I get anything. As this happens intermittently so not sure how many times I have to try this. Also, this is production system so hard to do it during the day time.
This is BOXI R2 not 3.x so I have to stop CMS and then enable tracing.
I am trying to recall how LDAP works and I think Web server connects to LDAP server directly before updating in BOXI system database. Does that mean it will not be logged in CMS trace? Just trying to get question answered before I get permission to do this on prod server this weekend.

  • Need a little help with antenna selection for a COW

    Hello fella's...
    Ok, so I've gotten myself a little confused here and would like some recommendations.  We are ordering new COWs (Computer On Wheels) for the hospital and they will be using an Intel 6205 Wireless Chip which is a/b/g/n 2x2.  The two new floors these devices will be going on will be our first internal hospital entry into 802.11n which I force the clients to run in the 5ghz range for N.   Previous to this, all of my cows are G clients and use a 2.2dbi rubber duck for 2.4ghz.   I will be using 1142 AP's, if not 3502 and no I have not performed a survey yet as the floor is still in early construction, but equipment is required to be ordered now.  I can tell you that I will be surveying for a voice grade.  I suppose my confusion comes from what is the best antenna (obvious open ended question) for this card, being it has two connectors for the 2x2.  Again, typically I would use a 2.2 dbi rubber duck for either 2 GHz or dual band 2/5 GHz.  Is dual rubber ducks at 6inch spacing (half wavelength met on 2.4 GHz fall back) suffecient or are there other factors involved with the N.
    Thanks,
    Raun

    I guess I'm under the impression that if you put a dual band antenna on a device, regardless wether it's a 2.4 radio or 5GHz radio, that the antenna would work, as it's well, dual band.  Am I wrong in that assumption leolaohoo?
    I have heard back from wyse today with a little information on their provided antenna, but no radiation pattern.  This antenna would be referred to as the 'rubber duckie' style 'dipole'.  I'm not really having much of a choice as it stands now, as I am limited on space(height) to place the antenna and time (chinese new year for manufacturer).  However, one other question. I note that the 1142 and 3502's are horizontally polarized and this omni is vertically polarized.  With my limited understanding of antenna's, that's not a good thing... what is the typical associated 'cost' of a vertical to a horizontal?

  • LDAP client for solaris 9 with ds5.2 on other box

    Hi
    I have ds5.2 installed on Box1. I am trying to configure ldapclient on solaris 9 box. I want this to point to existing ldap server for authentication. Sun documentation is not clear about how to do that ? as some of the switches mentioned with ldapclient doesn't work. Most of the solutions I saw are on integrated solaris 9 ds server configuration. e.g idsconfig etc. I am not finding how to do basic authentication of solaris9 cient with any ldap server (ds5.2) installed on some other box.

    The syntax of ldapclient changed in Solaris 9 (at least by 9 12/03). You now specify it like this:
    # ldapclient -v init -a profileName=cn=myProfile,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=comIf you're using Proxy Authentication add the following:
    -a proxyDN=cn=proxyagent,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com -a proxyPassword=ClearTextPWYou should have been able to create a profile (storing it in the DIT) when you ran idsconfig. If you took the default name of "default" (cn=default,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com) you might not even have to specify the profile name to ldapclient.
    To generate a new profile and store it in the DIT use:
    $ ldapclient -vgenprofile -a profileName=cn=myProfile,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com -a defaultSearchBase=dc=example,dc=com ...With your various attributes for your profile as specified in ldapclient(1M).
    As for pam, you have to decide which you're going to use: pam_unix or pam_ldap. Note that the Solaris pam_ldap is very different from the PADL pam_ldap used under Linux and elsewhere (this makes it easy to find apparently conflicting advice).

  • Little help with complex XML data as data provider for chart and adg

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to think through a problem and Im hoping for
    a little help. Here's the scenario:
    I have complex nested XML data that is wrapped by subsequent
    groupings for efficiency, but I need to determine if each inner
    item belongs in the data collection for view in a data grid and
    charts.
    I've posted an example at the bottom.
    So the goal here is to first be able to select a single
    inspector and then chart out their reports. I can get the data to
    filter from the XMLListCollection using a filter on the first layer
    (ie the name of the inspector) but then can't get a filter to go
    deeper into the structure in order to determine if the individual
    item should be contained inside the collection. In other words, I
    want to filter by inspector, then time and then tag name in order
    to be able to use this data as the basis for individual series
    inside my advanced data grid and column chart.
    I've made it work with creating a new collection and then
    looping through each time there is a change to the original
    collection and updating the new collection, but that just feels so
    bloated and inefficient. The user is going to have some buttons to
    allow them to change their view. I'm wondering if there is a
    cleaner way to approach this? I even tried chaining filter
    functions together, but that didn't work cause the collection is
    reset whenever the .refresh() is called.
    If anyone has experience in efficiently dealing with complex
    XML for charting purposes and tabular display purposes, I would
    greatly appreciate your assistance. I know I can get this to work
    with a bunch of overhead, but I'm seeking something elegant.
    Thank you.

  • Help with extending schema for redhat ldap sudo integration.

    Hi all,
    I've done LDAP administration for a few years, but I'm new to Directory server and I'm a bit stuck. I want to apply a custom schema and allow sudoers in our CentOs (Redhat) Linux servers. They're authenticating correctly, but I can't get sudoers to work. I've followed this documentation to update my schema.
    http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-2057
    I'm having issues with the step that creates the SUDOers group as the following.
    dn: ou=SUDOers,dc=example,dc=com
    objectClass: top
    objectClass: organizationalUnit
    ou: SUDOers
    I want to make administration easy via the Workgroup manager so I don't have to manually add users to this group via ldif files. When I create a sudoers group via the workgroup manager, I get this dn
    cn=sudoers,cn=groups,dc=spidertracks,dc=local
    As you can see, it's a cn, not an ou. Furthermore, how do I get the defaults in the sudoer's group so that redhat recognizes the setup, but users can be assigned via the workgroup manager?
    Thanks,
    Todd

    Anyways , I've created an LDIF for Active Directory with theses attributes and class objects.
    Don't really know if this is needed inside AD or not.
    If anyone wants these LDIFs for some reason, drop me a line. Keep in mind that they are a work in progress, so, if you find anything you dont like and would like to change it, please do let me know so I can update my versions aswell.
    If anyone got any idea regarding the last questions I posted, please do let me know aswell

  • [SOLVED] Enabling debug for ath9k in compat-drivers-patched from AUR

    Wireless card: TP-LINK TL-WN951N. lspci says that it is an Atheros AR5416 adapter [AR5008].
    Some background: I'm having the same issues as the OP in this thread, which references this bug report. The problem is that I get a 2000 ms ping every 30 seconds. So 2 seconds of inactivity every 30 seconds. I have the same wireless PCI card, as well. I need to fix this, because it's making online gaming impossible. I should also note that the card is working just fine in Windows 8, however. I am using net-auto-wireless. I have tried using wicd, enabling ath9k's nohwcrypt option, toggling the card's power save, installing the latest compat-drivers-patched from the AUR, toggling different settings in my motherboard's BIOS, and removing the antennae from the card. But nothing has made a significant difference.
    I think I'm really close now. I just have to disable ANI. But in order to do that, it seems that I need to enable debugging for ath9k. But this means that I need to either recompile a custom kernel, or somehow enable debug for ath9k in compat-drivers-patched from the AUR. I'd prefer the latter, as that means that I will have a more bleeding-edge driver. That, and I won't have to touch the kernel as much. What I want is described on this page. But it seems too complicated to me. Please let me explain.
    I've installed things from the AUR before, as mentioned above, and have properly configured my makepkg.conf for my system. So I'd like to use the CFLAGS and such that I've set. I don't understand how everything works in the PKGBUILD; I don't have much experience with sed and awk and regular expressions, and haven't done much shell scripting at all. It seems that at some point in the PKGBUILD, I need to enable debugging for ath9k before it is compiled. Apparently on the last page I linked to, I need to add:
    export CONFIG_ATH_DEBUG=y
    export CONFIG_ATH9K_DEBUG=y
    export CONFIG_ATH9K_DEBUGFS=y
    to some config.mk file. I can only get access to the config.mk file after I install the package with pacman. I've tried adding those lines to my /etc/profile file, and checked, after a reboot, with "set", that those variables are indeed set. But the thing is, with these variables set in /etc/profile, when I run makepkg, makepkg fails with an error 2. I tried again and got the same error. I removed those lines from my /etc/profile, rebooted, tried makepkg again, and everything worked. So putting those lines in my /etc/profile is not the solution, and I feel like I'm doing something very stupid. What am I doing wrong?
    I should also note that I've tried to read the wiki page on compiling a custom kernel using ABS, but it seems to just say "get your custom configuration files" and then just continue (so it assumes that I should already be familiar with the configuration part). The PKGBUILD and Creating Packages wiki pages also seem to be a little... too advanced for me at this point in time.
    So how do I enable debugging for ath9k in compat-drivers-patched from the AUR? I'd prefer to stick with only editing the PKGBUILD and using makepkg, if possible.
    I've really tried to search the web and the arch forums on how to fix this problem myself, but alas, it seems that I need help this time. I greatly appreciate your time for reading my long post.
    UPDATE:
    I've made a lot of progress. I ended up removing the AUR package with pacman by invoking "pacman -Rsn compat-drivers-patched".
    Instructions for [almost] success: First, download compat-drivers-patched from AUR. Then move it to the "builds" directory (or "local", if using ABS). Extract the tarball. After the new directory is created, cd into it. Now here's the important part: run
    $ makepkg -so
    Then cd into src, cd into the directory inside src, then edit the config.mk file. Make sure these lines are uncommented (or created, if not already there):
    export CONFIG_CFG80211_DEBUGFS=y
    export CONFIG_MAC80211_DEBUGFS=y
    export CONFIG_ATH_DEBUG=y
    export CONFIG_ATH9K_DEBUG=y
    export CONFIG_ATH9K_DEBUGFS=y
    (source)
    Now run "cd ../.." to go back up two directories. Now run:
    $ makepkg -e
    # pacman -U <file that was produced>
    And I ran "mkinitcpio -p linux" just in case, but I'm not sure if that is necessary at all. I'm... not touching the kernel, right?
    Now I ran:
    echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/disable_ani
    But bash would say that the file or directory doesn't exist. Even if I prepend it with "sudo", I get the same results. I was only able to get the command to work if I logged in as root. I even put the line in my /etc/profile. The 2000 ms ping every 30 seconds is now GONE. HOWEVER! If I reboot and log in as a normal user, the problem is there again. If I reboot and log in as root, the problem is gone. If I then log out and then log back in as a normal user, the problem does not come back.
    So really, I can avoid the problem if I first log in as root, log out, and then log back in as a normal user. But this is a great inconvenience. I would much prefer if I could just log in as a normal user right after boot, and have everything working.
    Now, how do I get the command to automatically run at boot as root (without me having to log in as root), and work?
    UPDATE 2:
    I got it working. Putting the line in /etc/profile is not the solution. I created a custom systemd .service file.
    Put this into /etc/systemd/service (name it "disable_ani.service"):
    EDIT: Wow. I made a glaring typo here. It should be /etc/systemd/system/disable_ani.service
    [Unit]
    Description=disable_ani
    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    ExecStart=/bin/sh -c "echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/disable_ani"
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    Then make sure to "sudo chmod 755 /etc/systemd/service/disable_ani.service", since root owns this file.
    Then run "sudo systemctl enable disable_ani.service".
    EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that there is a much simpler way than creating a custom service.
    Using a tmpfile:
    /etc/tmpfiles.d/disable_ani.conf
    w /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/disable_ani - - - - 1
    Done.
    Now ANI is persistently disabled between boots, even if I log in as a normal user right after boot.
    Thanks for reading.

    So zsh is telling you that the command didn't work, since it claims that there is no such file or directory. I had a lot of trouble with getting the echo command to work, as well. I found that if out of these lines:
    export CONFIG_CFG80211_DEBUGFS=y
    export CONFIG_MAC80211_DEBUGFS=y
    export CONFIG_ATH_DEBUG=y
    export CONFIG_ATH9K_DEBUG=y
    export CONFIG_ATH9K_DEBUGFS=y
    If the first and second line above were not uncommented in the config.mk file, I couldn't leave the last line above uncommented as well, or else makepkg would fail and give me an error. So originally I had only the 3rd and 4th lines above uncommented/inserted in my config.mk. With that configuration, I could not get the echo command to work, no matter what. Have you uncommented or inserted all of the above 5 lines into your config.mk?
    After making sure all of the above 5 lines were in my config.mk, the echo command still didn't work, even if I preceded the command with sudo, or entered a su session. Bash would tell me that there was no such file or directory. I found that if I actually logged out of my normal user, and then logged back into the computer as root, the command would work. If your shell does not give you any feedback (particularly, "no such file or directory"), then the command worked. In order to get the command to run every time the computer boots, I used a systemd service, so that the command is issued as root. For some reason, it doesn't work if you put the command into /etc/profile.
    Oh, and it would probably be helpful to mention that for the compat-drivers-patched package from the AUR, the PKGBUILD checks to see what your _selected_drivers variable is before compilation. If you set _selected_drivers=ath9k, your compile times will be much shorter.

  • Greetings,   I need a little help. I have a WRT54G Wirele...

    Greetings,
    I need a little help. I have a WRT54G Wireless Router, and it worked well for years with my Alcatel DSL Modem (Bellsouth/ATT).  The modem went out and it was replaced with Westell Modem.  When I bypass the router I have no problem connecting to the Internet, however when I connect the router--no connection.  I thought it would not be a problem swapping the modem out.  I am running XP with Norton Internet Security and Anti-virus.  I have disabled Norton and do not believe that to be the problem.  Do I have to reconfigure the router?  If so, can I do it with the original install CD?  (I am disabled and the original CD/instructions/box is in the attic and I cannot get it easily.)  I have read several different threads, but they do not specifically address my problem.  Any assistance is appreciated.  Eddy

    Many Westell modems are actually "modem-routers" and they use the same 192.168.1.1  address space as your WRT54G.  This is the root of your problems.
    Try the settings at this URL.
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6323
    Note that the "WAN" port on the BEFSR41 in the example is the same as the "Internet" port on your WRT54G.
    Please let me know whether or not this worked for you.

  • Hellcat: USB debugging for iOS?

    Hi,
    Anyone know if Flash CS7 will feature USB debugging for iOS?
    Sure could be useful. Having a heck of a time troubleshooting internet connectivity right now. Suppose I could look into going back to command line compile, but support in CS7 would sure be helpful...
    Thanks.

    it's available in Flash Pro CS6 now via the Air for OS settings panel and via the Air for Android settings panel.  no command line needed.  just check the box and publish to the usb connected device.
    it works flawlessly for me.
    i've agreed to an adobe nda so i can't comment about the next Flash Pro release.
    and, i don't use Flash Builder so i just don't know about its current or planned capabilities.

  • Help me to debug this function.

    public Frame getParentFrame()
    Container container = null;
    for(container = getParent();!(container instanceof Frame); ){
    container = container.getParent();/*/
    return (Frame)container;
    When I use this function , it will wrong at the line marked "*"(I put this program at the applet),please help me to debug this program.

    Let me translate that into something that the average programmer could understand, instead of that awful for-statement...public Frame getParentFrame() {
      Container container = getParent();
      while (!(container instanceof Frame)) {
         container = container.getParent(); // Error here?
      return (Frame)container;
    }Now, you say it has an error at that line? Okay, to debug it you look at the error message. And then you figure out what's wrong with that line of code that causes that message. Sorry, that's all I can say because you didn't mention what the actual error was.

    Need a little help I'm new to Mac.. i have had my ibook for over a year now and i like it a lot, but some times my usb post dies on my for a couple days maybe weeks. +it says that they were "removed improperly"+
    You have to go to the iPod's icon on your computer (or the flash drive's icon), select it and eject it there before removing it. Otherwise, data can be corrupted and/or lost. Repeatedly removing it without ejecting it from the desktop can cause it not to be recognized any longer.
    If your iBook is a "late 2001" model. It should have a reset button. Check out the chart here to make sure which model iBook you have:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1772?viewlocale=en_US
    +i get prompt to this screen that shows the world and then a folder with a ? mark but then after a few sec it boots right up+
    It's trying to find a network volume from which to boot.
    Once it's booted up, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk, and select your Mac OS X startup volume. Then close System Preferences. The next time you start up, it should start up without looking for a network volume.

  • How to enable remote debugging for a session other than the current one

    Hi all,
    I am trying to figure out how to enable remote debugging for a session other than the one I am currently using.
    More specifically, we have an application that is making database calls to Oracle 11gR2. Something is causing an exception during this invocation. My system is currently not set up to recompile said application, so I can't just add the debug call to the code and recompile. Therefore I would like to be able to log into the database (as sys, if necessary) and invoke dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp on the desired session.
    The docs indicate that I should be able to do so:
    dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp(
    host IN VARCHAR2,
    port IN VARCHAR2,
    session_id IN PLS_INTEGER := NULL,
    session_serial IN PLS_INTEGER := NULL,
    debug_role IN VARCHAR2 := NULL,
    debug_role_pwd IN VARCHAR2 := NULL,
    option_flags IN PLS_INTEGER := 0,
    extensions_cmd_set IN PLS_INTEGER := 128);
    But when I try (even as sys), I get the following:
    exec dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp('1.2.3.4',5678,<session id>,<session serial>);ORA-00022: invalid session ID; access denied
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP", line 68
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    00022. 00000 - "invalid session ID; access denied"
    *Cause:    Either the session specified does not exist or the caller
    does not have the privilege to access it.
    *Action:   Specify a valid session ID that you have privilege to access,
    that is either you own it or you have the CHANGE_USER privilege.
    I've tried granting the 'BECOME USER' privilege for the relevant users, but that didn't help. I read something about having to set some kind of ACL as of 11gR1, but the reference documentation was very confusing.
    Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Is this even possible, or did I misread the documentation?

    Interesting deduction, that would be very useful indeed. I hate recompiling just to add the debug call, and it can't be done in our production environment. But it seems unlikely to me it would be implemented this way.
    I would cross-post this in the SQL AND PL/SQL forum though, as this is really a database issue, not with the SQL Developer tool. Do add the links to the other posts in each.
    Regards,
    K.

I was hoping that the support community here would be able to assist in my decision.  I am very price consious so I am looking at the refurbished models from the Apple store.  I am also a Web Developer so I need to be able to run Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustator plus have a few browsers going with multiple tabs in each.  Speed (both working with files and browsing the web) is of the utmost importance to me as I need a computer that can keep up with me. Basically I need a fast computer so I can get my job done quickly. I would love to purchase a new Mac and max it out, but cost is a very important issue which is why I am looking at these two models.

    What it comes down to is that I like option 1 as the cost is much lower and I can upgrade, but I am nwondering if option 2 would be a faster than option 1 even after I upgrade the RAM and HD. I'm just hesitant about the retina model as I cannot upgrade.  To me most of the numbers look the same, but I do not know much about what is under the hood and what is overall a better machine for my purposes above.  To the retina screen isn't all that important as I plan on connecting the MBP to a larger external monitory.
    Thanks in advance for any help.  If anything needs clarification please ask and I will provide more details.

    Another advantage to the non-Retina MB/Pro with optical drive is the possibility
    of upgrade with a kit, to install a second SSD in place of that drive; as per a
    part number kit that macsales OWC site has listed. That kind of upgrade does
    come up on occasion; however an SSD in that location has a slower data rate
    than one on the hard disk drive bus. 'Data Doubler' is their name for it; a kit
    could include a suitable SSD, too. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/
    About wireless connectivity differences between Retina MB/Pro and non-Retina,
    could vary the results if one were to use a newer Time Capsule wireless base
    station; as these can use two bandwidths of wi-fi. However I am not sure if one
    or both models can utilize this feature when connecting to the base station &
    wireless backup function of the time capsule. The faster speed could be a little
    helpful if using wireless; yet I'd be sure to make a backup clone and directly
    use a wired connection of dependable speed and quality for its use.
    So to read up on the newer specs for the Time Capsule with built in wi-fi base
    station to see if that matters; I doubt there would be an issue as the newer is
    supposed to be compatible with the older.
    Hopefully this helps somewhat. I've found an older AirPort base station can
    affect the internet speed when the source is higher than the base thoroughput.
    This can be an issue, at least with wireless backups or internet access. For
    best connection speeds, it also helps to have a wired network, to fall back on.
    Ethernet is faster and more reliable as a local & internet network path; and a
    wired network is more secure than a wireless one.
    If you have a different question, be sure to ask; you could also start a new thread.
    Good luck & happy computing!

    Hi,
    Please see if these help (for 11gR2)
    Export the LDAPUser.xml file from MDS using weblogicExportMetatdata.bat. This xml contains the attributes mapping between OIM and OID for LDAP synchronization.
    Include the entry for OIM attribute (if entry does not exist for the attribute in the XML) under entity-attributes node. For e.g. use the following xml snippet to add the entry for ISD Code for Phone attribute
    <entity-attributes><attribute name=”ISD Code for Phone”> <type>string</type> <required>false</required> <attribute-group>Extended </attribute-group> <searchable>true</searchable> </attribute> </entity-attributes>
    Include the entry for OID attribute under target-fields node. For e.g. use the following xml snippet to add the entry for CountryCode
    <target-fields><field name=”CountryCode”><type>String</type> <required>false</required> </target-fields>
    Now map the OIM attribute with the OID attribute using the following xml snippet under attribute-maps node
    <attribute-maps><attribute-map> <entity-attribute> ISD Code for Phone </entity-attribute> <target-field>CountryCode</target-field> </attribute-map></attribute-maps>
    Save the changes and import the file back into MDS using WebLogic import utilities.

    Hi
    I've mocked up a simple test and it seems to use the indexes when I try with one or the other values being supplied, I've made an assumption on the indexes you have (i.e. single column indexes on job and deptno),
    --indexes on emp table:
    p2056@dbapw01> @indexes
    Enter value for table_name: emp
    Enter value for owner: p2056
    INDEX_OWNER                    INDEX_NAME                INDEX_TYPE                  PAR COLUMN_NAME                    STATUS
    P2056                          EMPI1                     NORMAL                      NO  DEPTNO                         VALID
    P2056                          EMPI2                     NORMAL                      NO  JOB                            VALID
    2 rows selected.

      7   OR
      8   ('SALESMAN' is null and null is null)

    Explained.
