Live type render movie issue

This goes out to you Live type gurus.  I have a 6 second animation with video.  It renders in the timeline fine but when I "render movie" the finished product only shows about half of the total project. eg it stops half way through the entire clip.  I've tried starting from scratch and it still does the same thing.  Only half of it gets rendered.  I have a full retail copy of Final Cut Studio 7.   Thanks and I hope MikeyBouchereau is listening...he answered my last post quite well.

It's actually FInal Cut Studio 3 (Final cut Pro 7), and Livetype is no longer supplied as part of the Studio package. That's what Motion is for now...
In regards to only playing half, check your in and out points.

  • Live Type Render Quality

If I create just the text and export .ipr file into FCP I noticed that the letters outline look pixilated, jagged against the still background. If I import that background into Live Type and export into FCP including the background it looks perfect. Very interesting discovery.
    Is this normal?

In addition to what Big Daddy Sheffield said, could your issue be related to the fact that LiveType (as well as Motion) produce premultiplied with black alpha channels? That is, upon importing the .ipr file, you're altering the Alpha type - either in the Browser or in the Item Properties dialog - to Black, right?
By default, FCP interprets alpha as Straight and, in the case of premultiplied by black alpha channels, this produces a black fringe around your elements (which can come across as pixelated outlines). If you're the type to use black outlines on your type, this might not matter, but I figure it's worth a mention.
Or is your issue indeed beyond that?

  • Live Type render error

just moved from fcp 5 to fcp 6. i opened my last project from V5 and everything looks ok but the live type fonts. Instead of seeing the font, i see "rendering error in live tpe file (and the name of the file below it) when i try to open this in the editor (live type) and play it, i get a "can not render- error 2048" can anyone help?

In LiveType, highlight the track that has your LiveFont on it.
Go to the text entry box and press command and A keys (select all).
Go to the Media Browser > Live Fonts and locate the Font that was used in the original project file.
Click on the font name, go to the bottom of the Media Browser panel and click on the Apply button.
    Save the project.

  • Unable to Have Live Type Render Hi-Res in MiniDV Sequence

I have a NTSC-48KHz Sequence for MiniDV in FCP 5
    that's fine
When I bring in a Live Type movie, it looks pixelated
which I know is because the MiniDV sequence is a different
    codec
How do I have my Live Type movie fully hi-res
along with my MiniDV footage looking fine in this
    one sequence?
    thanks

  • Placing Background move issue - Live type

I'm having trouble with placing a background movie in live type.  I encoded a 5 second movie in HDV 1080i60... I've set my project properties to HDV1080i60 and when I place the movie in the background it squeezes it to 4:3.  Am I missing something?  Thanks for any help!
    John

Thanks Christina.  I've set my project properties to 1080i60 and encoded my video using compressor and using a Quicktime conversion.  they both output the correct file.  my canvas in LIve Type is set to the 1080i60 but when I place the movie it snaps to what looks like a 4:3 format.
When I check my project props after placement, the size switches to "custom"  but still retains the 1440 x 1080 width and height.
Thanks for your quick response to my issue by the way... I 'm still not clear as to what is happening.  I was able to use the "place" options instead of "place background movie"....my canvas stayed at the 16:9 ratio but my video was somewhat narrower.  I used the transform capabilities (the handles on the placed video) of the video and the canvas as a guide and just sized it to the right ratio.
Hope this isn't too complicated of a reply
and Thank again for the reply

  • Live Type Background Issue

    good afternoon,
I am using Live type to create text and I want to place it and some images over a background.
I have created a file in Live type, selected a background, added a company logo and have been able to view my project with Live type as I want it.
But when I save it and drop it into my bin for Final cut pro, the background does not show up.
Any thoughts on what settings in FCP I need to change, or are there certain export settings in Livetype I need to be more aware of.
    thanks
    MIke

FYI there are 2 methods of rendering the background in LiveType.
    1) Click the Render Background Box in the LT Project Properties
    2) When Rendering a QT movie click the Render Background Box
Method 1 is preferable and if you follow that process then even if you're rendering out a movie...the Render Background Box will already be checked for you.

  • LIVE TYPE to I-Movie without letterboxing

I love the Live type software. However, sometimes when transfering the finished gfx (quicktime) looking file letter boxing appears... other times it doesn't. I am confused on when sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I actually don't want it on there because the I-movie pieces I make go to our website and the viewing screen is already small enough.
Please help- I'm not too IT or computer literate:((((

Yay! After an hour and a half with Apple tech support I now know what to do... so I thought I'd right this out for anyone else who struggles with the issue.
    1. Go into the Livetype you made your GFX on or create a new one...
    2. Click on Edit
    3. Go down to properties
    4. In the width box type in 640
    5. In the Height box type in 480
and that will solve the problem!
Tech support said at first the software isn't supported for I-movie, but if you follow these steps it will work fine!
    Enjoy!

    hi,
go to MB51 and enter the movent types shown below for issues or consumption, then you  will get list of all documents related to consuptions.
    201-consumption for cost centrer
    221-consumption for project
    231-consumption for sales order
    241-consumption for assest
    251-consumption for sales
    261-consumption for order
    281-consumption for network

you have to remember the movement types, i think there is no special logic to get these movement types separetly.

  • Movement type for goods issue in intercompany STO business scenario

    Hi, everyone,
In intercompany STO scenario, firstly we should create a purchase order with a transfer order type just like as UB,
then we use T-code: VL10B to create the delivery note by referencing the purchase order created in first step, in succession, billing, goods reciept.
Actually I have a question about the movement type in goods issue process. The standard is 643 deliveried by SAP.
Can I customize the movement type in intercompany STO business scenario

    hi,
The following are the scenarios of cross plant goods movements:
Alternate plant procurement of purchased items
    Alternate plant production
Plant-to-plant goods transfer of grouped project stock
Stock transfer without reference to a stock transfer order (STO)
    1 Step – 301
    1 Step reversal – 302
Stock transfer with reference to an STO in the receiving plant without SD
    2 Steps - 351 and 101
    2 Steps reversal – 102 and 352
Stock transfer with reference to an STO in the receiving plant with SD delivery
    2 Steps – 641 and 101
    2 Steps reversal – 102 and 642
    1 Step – 647
    1 Step reversal – 648
    Movement Type &  Description
    301 / 302
Goods receipt into production order in another plant. This is a one-step, cross-plant stock transfer. This movement type does not use STOs but behaves like a goods receipt of stock, except that the stock comes from another plant into the current plant. Movement 302 is the reverse of 301.
    351 / 352
Stock transfer that is in transit between two plants. This is a two–step, cross-plant stock transfer, because after movement 351, you do not immediately see the stock in the receiving plant. After movement 351, the stock is in transit between the two plants. Only after you have performed a goods receipt (movement 101/102)of this ”in-transit” stock into the receiving plant can you see this stock in the receiving plant. Movement 352 is the reverse of 351.
    641 / 642
Stock transfer that is in transit between two plants, with delivery documents (Sales and Distribution). This is a two-step, cross-plant transfer of stock, because after movement 641, you do not immediately see the stock in the receiving plant. After movement 641, the stock is in transit between the two plants. Only after you have performed a goods receipt (movement 101/102 ) of this ”in-transit” stock into the receiving plant can you see this stock in the receiving plant. Movement 642 is the reverse of 641.
    647 / 648
Stock transfer to another plant, with delivery documents (Sales and Distribution), with STO. This is a one-step, cross-plant stock transfer because after movement 647, you cannot immediately see the stock in the receiving plant. The stock is never in transit with this movement type, but the stock is transferred with reference to an STO with Sales and Distribution documents. Movement 648 is the reverse of 647.

  • FCE not seeing new Live Type files correctly... (Leopard issue?)

There appears to be a problem in LiveType and FCE as of Leopard.
LiveType files created BEFORE Leopard was installed import fine, but files created AFTER Leopard was installed will not import and return an error:
File Error. 1 File Recognized. 0 Access Denied. 1 file unknown.
Live Type files that are rendered as movies are importable and that is the workaround. But of course they cannot be edited again unless the Live Type file is reopened and re-rendered.
IOW, no import of a Live Type file directly into FCE.
Pro apps download doesn't appear to apply to FCE and you need a FCP serial # to access it anyway.
    All suggestions appreciated.

Never mind. I figured it out.

  • Issues Printing Live Type to Canon iPF8000s

I can not print any live type to our Canon iPF8000s.I am currently using Mountain Lion (10.8.5), InDesign CS 5.5, and Acrobat XI to make pdfs and I can not get any pdfs to print w/o first flattening them. I can't even get the page info to print unless it's outlined. I'm not sure if its bc there is no RIP or if I am having a problem similar to what I have read about on these forums that dates back to 2011 for which Apple issued a fix called SnowLeopard Font Update. But, I can not find any recent posts re: a similar problem happening these days so I was wondering if I could get some input. Shouldn't I at least be able to print the page info w/o RIP software? As far as I can tell, we have the latest driver for this printer. Any light that could be shed on this would be great. Thank you.

If you are using the UFR2 driver, then when using this Market Leader application select to print and from the print dialog, change to the Quality menu. Then select Quality Settings and then change the Graphics Mode settings from UFRII Mode to Raster Mode. OK the change and then see if this prints correctly.

  • Why does my rendered Live Type movie look bad

I created some lower thirds using Live Type, then I imported them into FCP. When I edit them onto my timeline it looks really bad (not sharp)...why?

I did not realize the canvas shows a low res image. that is not too comforting though.
You're new, obviously. We all were at one time or another. Your Canvas is a small window inside the interface of your editing application running on a computer screen. You can think of it like the page preview function in Photoshop, it's an approximation; you won't really know what your page is going to look like till you print it. But with lots of experience, you begin to be able to predict what various filters and effects will look like on different types of paper stocks on different printers.
    njs21 wrote:
When it is all done rendering and exporting it will be high res?
Maybe. Depends on how you've got your rendering settings sets set up. Generally, yes, if you read that part of the manual carefully and follow the steps. But you won't know till you've gone all the way to your output format and evaluated your work on your final media's display.
