Live Update Clock using server time?

Can anyone point me to a set of coding or extension that will
allow me to put a live (continuosly updating) clock on my webpage,
that gets it information from the servers time. For Instance,
Kaosweaver has a great example:

here .... BUT, it gets the time from the local computer's info.
In this situation, someone can just change the time on their local
computer, and it will change the time on the clock.
Any ideas?

I could well be wrong here but I suspect you'll need to use
something like
server side scripting to achieve this. After all JavaScript
is a client side
code so I suspect it will not have the necessary to access
server resources.
Something like .asp or .aspx.

Flash clock and server time

Hi Guys, desperately need help here!
I have created a flash clock using Actionscript 2.0. I have configured it to fetch the server time using a basic ColdFusion time and date script.
At first the clock worked fine, accept for the afternoons where it would add extra hours onto the time. The clock is now completely out of sync and I have been trying to solve the problem for over two weeks! This clock will be used for a major client so it has to be working perfectly.
I would really appreciate someone having a quite look at the actionscript as im sure its nothing major.

Using server time in Timer Class

I have develped an application(stand alone) using swings. the exe runs in all the systems in my company.
requirement is
--> application has to be closed at 11.59 P.M everyday.
i did this task using Timer class. Timer class takes the system time in which the application runs. what i need is the server time. so when the application runs it has to check the server time and when the server time is equal to 11.59 PM application has to be closed.
so how do i map the timer class to my server time?
iam breaking my head for this for past few days. is there any way to do this?

1)Do you have one database in total? I mean all Java Application read and save data to this database. If so, try to get time from database by using database function. I recommend you to do this because database is central and all application share data with the database.
2) You can still call web server in Java application. My link in last post will tell you.
3) You can write a Java Server application for providing current server time for all your Java application. Socket technique may be used.
Therefore, solution 1 and solution 2 look simpler than solution 3.

Question about implementing a clock using a Timer object

Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question but I think so, as it regards a Swing component. I want to add a timer (a clock that starts at 0:00 and keeps track of how long the app is running) to a frame. I am just curious if using a Timer is the proper way to keep track of time, and just repaint() the clock object every second? (or more frequently if desired)... or is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance for any comments/feedback/help!

Hello,
Timer is not accurate. You can use Timer to display your component repeteadly, and System.currentTimeMillis() at each call to deduce the elapsed time.

New VIA Drivers and Live-Update

I noticed the latest VIA drivers are not yet available for download using MSI's Live Update prgram. Is it ok to download them seperately from the official VIA site? Or should I just wait for the Live Updater to get them?

I only used Live Update for a limited time ... mostly because there was too much time between launching an new driver and the driver becoming available through Live Update. The VIA drivers are available for more than a week, I think.

890FXA-GD70 bios update via Live Updat & now won't load windows...help pls

First off, please excuse the fact that I am not very experienced with the tech aspects of a home build (which this is & I bought off the builder), or any build for that matter..
I was getting a 'keyboard/interface' press f1 to continue error message, when I started my computer, along with most of the usb ports not working when windows 7 ultimate (64) sp1 (build 7601) loads.
Otherwise it was working fine..
So I deceided to follow the instructions of the Live Update tool & used the total installer to update the bios from American Megatrends V1.10 06/30/2011 to the latest bios. I know now that wasn't very wise (why is it even an option if it can do soooo much harm?).
After it updated the bios there was a question (which I don't recall of course), something about ROM I think and not being the same, with 3 choices to correct it and I'm pretty sure I went with the 1st option for it to be corrected.
So now when I turn the computer on it starts loading everything (I can get in to the bios setup), right after it shows the windows logo it flashes a blue screen with some type on it & goes to windows startup repair which of course doesn't help & tries to do a system recovery which also doesn't work.
I don't want to do any more damage by fiddling around with things I know little about.
I was encouraged to read in one of the post answers that if it gets to the point where Windows goes to load than the mobo is ok...hopefully!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

yes the BIOS controls the CMOS from that User interface with all the settings menus!
and yes its in there where you can see what Drive mode its set at!
if its using the older style BIOS like my board has and not a UEFI then in this heading set:
1: go into your BIOS (press Delete)
2: Integrated Perifirals
3: On-Chip ATA Devices
4: Raid Mode <--- the options for that should be in there if its the same and may have been set to IDE mode before the update but may be set to AHCI now after you flashed the BIOS via live update which is more then likely why your getting a BSOD as it in the wrong operating mode!

How do you update smart playlists with live update turned off?

If I create a smart playlist in itunes and deselect live updating then how exactly does the smart playlist load up?
The reason I ask is that started setting up Smart Playlists for all of the artists on my computer and they're all set to live update which is consequently slowing down my itunes. I realize that I may not necessarily need that. My question is though...how exactly would I go about manually updating a smart playlist that has live updating turned off?

Well, the problem is that I have smart playlists for every artist in my library (which is literally hundreds). With every live update turned on, every time I edit tags for a new single or something it'll scan all the smart playlists for matches. The reason I'd like to have smart playlists instead of regular playlists is that I tend to add a lot of singles, and, especially in the hip hop genre, they tend to have a lot of guest appearances so I'd like the smart playlists to do tehir job.....I'd just prefer to not have it set to live update so I can avoid delays during tagging.
Apparently this is a known side efffect of having many smart playlists in your itunes. I realize my way of working with them might be slightly unconventional in comparison to how they are typically used but it's great for me. If I could leave live update on without any performance degregation then I would but it seems I have to pick.
I read somewhere that if you shut down itunes and restart that it'll refresh all your smart playlists (if live update is turned off).

LiveCache server time is 1hour behind SCM server

is there a way to update the LiveCache server time, which is 1 hour behind our SCM server. All I could find is that LC has a parameter called DATE_TIME_FORMAT but this is only a format, not an actual time zone type variable. Also, STZAC does not work. Is the timestamp coming from the underlying dB2 database?

the date/time setting is not configurable on the liveCache side.
Can you check if the operating system (OS) shows the same date/time on both machines (liveCache server vs. SCM / Apps. Server)?

HELP: Failure flashing BIOS using Live Update 5

Hi,
I used Live Update 5 to download the latest BIOS version for my MB. Then when I was running the update, I chose "". (I know it's incorrect and I should have chosen the other one.) After the update, the machine restarted and showed a cursor blinking on the top left on a black screen, and it wouldn't proceed any more. I can enter the BIOS without a problem. I can also boot from CD or USB, but the windows on my machine simply wouldn't boot.
After the problem arose, I have tried flashing the BIOS with the MSI Forum HQ USB Flashing tool on this forum. It tells me that but the same problem remains.
What should I do now?

After any flash, the battery should be removed for awhile and the CMOS cleared. Reset all your BIOS menu settings again making sure the boot order etc. is correct and the proper mode is selected that your OS was installed under, i.e. IDE or AHCI mode.

Can we use both INSERT and UPDATE at the same time in JDBC Receiver

I would like to know is it possible to use both INSERT and UPDATE at the same time in one interface because I have a requirement in which I have to perform both the task.
user send the file which contains both new and old record and I need to save those in MS SQL database.
If the record exist then use UPDATE otherwise use INSERT.
I looked on sdn but didn't find any blog which perform both the things at the same time.
Interface Requirement
FILE -

> JDBC(INSERT & UPDATE)
I am thinking to use JDBC Lookup but not sure if it good to use for bulk record.
Can somebody please suggest me something or send me the link of any blog or anything to solve this problem.

          If I have understood properly the scenario properly,you are not performing insert and update together. As you posted
"If the record exist then use UPDATE otherwise use INSERT."
Thus you are performing either an insert or an update which depends on outcome of a search if the records already exist in database or not. Obviously to search the tables you need " select * from ... where ...." query. If your query returns some results you proceed with update since this means there are some old records already in database. If your query returns no rows you proceed with "insert into tablename....." since there are no old records present in database.
Now perhaps the best method to do the searching, taking a decision to insert or update, and finally insert or update operation is to be done by a stored procedure in MS SQL database. A stored procedure is a subroutine available to applications accessing a relational database system. Here the application is PI server.   If you need further help on how to write and call stored procedure in MS SQL you can look into these links

    Still you might face some problems while your scenario runs. Lets consider this scenario, after the stored procedure searches the database it found no rows. Thus you proceed with an insert operation. If your database table is being accessed by multiple applications (or users) other than yours then it is very well possible that after the search operation completed with a null result, an insert/update operation has been performed by some other application with the same primary key. Now when you are trying to insert another row with same primary key you get an error message like "duplicate entry not possible for same primary key value".     There must be other methods to avoid this problem. But the point is you need to be sure that all access to database for insert/update operations are isolated.

You can create a date in javascript like this
new Date(year, month, day, hours, minutes, seconds, milliseconds) You don't have to supply all the parameters (this is javascript after all)

Show server time on a page (automatically updating)

Please consider the use-case where the server time should be shown on a page and be automatically updated.
This example application created using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 illustrates two approaches

The approach using an af:poll component seems to have issues when a FacesMessage is shown in a dialog. The af:poll component seems to cause the FacesMessage dialog to be closed automatically, and the polling seems to stop until the mouse is moved.
The approach using af:activeOutputText and a BaseActiveDataModel implementation does not seem to have the same issues as the approach using the af:poll component. But, pointers to documentation that guides to a robust implementation are welcome (I mainly used "ADF BC and the Active Data Service", "ADF’s Active Data Service and scalar data (like activeOutputText)" and "ActiveModelContext").
All suggestions for improvements or alternative implementations are welcome.

The only thing that would have to change is to set the date as the server date, rather than the client date.
var tDate = new Date(<%= System.currentTimeMillis() %>);This would be set to the server time at the time of serving the page. It would probably take a few seconds to transmit/render on the client machine.
How accurate do you need this clock to be?

Live Update 3 not working ?me or MSI server

Tried running Live Update 3 yesterday & today. The main page comes up but the live BIOS, live drivers etc buttons aren't present.
I've tried setting active X controls to enabled or prompt.. No effect.
I've had Web Trap disabled & stopped firewall, antivirus monitoring etc.. no effect.
Are the MSI servers the problem?
Anyone else used live update today or yesterday?
the only thing Ive done that may have impacted on my machine was use spybot s&d 1.2. Anyone else use this & either use live update 3 ok, or .. run in problems subsequently?
