Load data in R/3 BW delta Queue

Hi,
Is there any option to load data in R/3 BW delta Queue. I have done nothing for that. I have found that new record is available in source table. Is there any option to schedule / execute in R/3 end.

What do you mean ...Is it R3 Delta Queue or BW delta Queue???
As far as I consider it is R3 Delta Queue....For loading the data to R3 delta queue...1st let me know which update method you are using...
If its Direct update....document posting will be directly written to Delta Queue---RSA7.
If its V3 unserialised...then the changed document posting wil be captured and will be avaialble in Extraction Queue LBWQ and from there a collective run i.e. control jobs need to be scheduled as per your desired frequency to move it from LBWQ to Delta Queue RSA7.
If it is queued delta
u2022 Extraction data is collected for the affected application in an extraction queue
u2022 Collective run as usual for transferring data into the BW delta queue

Data transfer (Export & Import) of Delta Queue between two system.

We are planning to implement the following senario for a certain R/3 and BW system.
1. Implement storage snap shot copy solution for R/3 database and create replicated system of production R/3 every day in order to avoid load of production R/3 to BW directly. That is to say, we will extract business data from the replicated R/3 system and forward to BW.
2. We need to utilize Delta Queue function in order to feed the only gap data between production R/3 and BW. but as stated in 1. the source data will be replicated from the production R/3 every day and so we could not keep the Delta Queue data in R/3.
3. So, we are examining the following method in order to keep the Delta Data in the replicated R/3 system. i,e after feeding business data from the replicated R/3 to BW, we will extract the following Delta Queue table and keep it.
- TRFCQOUT (Client Dependent pointer table per queue name and destination.
- ARFCSSTATE: Likn between TRFCQOUT and ARFCSDARA
- ARFCSDATA: Compressed data for tRFC/qRFC
And then, next day, after replicating R/3 system, we will import those Delta data to the replicated R/3 system before stating extract business data and feed to BW.
Is the such method realistic? if not, is there any alternative?

How to load XML File to BW Delta Queue via Webpage

Hello altogether,
I am trying to load an CSV file via Webpage (the Webpage have to change the csv file in a xml/soap file) into BW Delta Queue.
Steps that I have made:
- Create an InfoSource
- Create an BW Data Source with Soap Connection
- Create an initial Delta without Data Transfer
- Create a Web Service with TC - SE37 - Utilities -> More Utilities -> Create Web Service
If I test the Web Service with TC - Soamanager (BW 7.0), the data entered here, are transferred to the BW Delta Queue.
If I test the function module ( TC - SE37), the data also transferred to the Delta Queue.
Now I think, that I have an error in the html file or the html file is not conform to the wsdl document?? Or should I have to create a virtual interface, but I don't find a possibility to creat it...???

The coding of the WSDL Document and the Website is attached (I can also send you the coding and error message via mail, if you want). Sorry I don't know how to display here the coding. I have done all the necessary config in BW. However, as I mentioned earlier, we are still not up with XI so I am trying to load XML to BW delta queue. The question still remains, how do I make make the XML file (on my desktop say) point to the BW so the InfoPackage picks up and places in the delta queue? Even if I had XI, there has to be a way whereby BW looks for the XML file. That is what I want to know and stuck at.
Any detailed step by step help will be appreciated as always.

Effect of SAP R/3 upgrade on Delta Queue

Hi Gurus,
We have our SAP upgrade scheduled to go-live in some time. My problem is that we have 2 loads based on Direct Delta queue concept.
As per my understanding, the approach that we need to follow is that we should get all the users locked and then load the data into BW system from delta queue. Once this is done and the delta queue is cleared, we can bring the R/3 system down for upgrade.
The approach adopted for Upgrade is Downtime minimised, wherein for most part of upgrade, system will be down and for some part of upgrade the production will be up and running. In such a scenario where system will be up and upgrade will be running simultaneously, will there be any impact on the delta queues or rather shall I say that 'Will the delta queues affect upgrade process'

Hey. In my experience, you never want the system to be "up" during an upgrade. You will, or have, probably run accross the problem in dev or QC with doing the upgrade while the delta queues are populated. You will often get an error message that queues still have data to be transfered.
So I guess the simplest answer is that you do run the risk of having problems with the upgrade. If thre is no choice but to do the upgrade partially doing productive hours, I would just clear all the queues and hope for the best. Not a great answer, but not sure what the best answer would be in your scenario.

Generic delta queue for CDHDR

Hi,
Has anyone used the function module to create a generic delta queue to work for extracting data from tables CDHDR and CDPOS when using the UDATE as the change date? I was able to find an alternate solution to extracting the data from these tables, but the solution is not approved, and it is suggested to use the function module and use a changed date to create the generic delta queue from RSO2.

Thank you for your insight on this. Well, UDATE is the changed date in the table CDHDR, and I am wondering if that should be used to provide to the RSO2 setup and set the interval to 1 day. I am extracting this UDATE to my extract structure.
Here is what I have in the FM and I am loading right now. I provided the date range to the 'Data Selection' tab for a complete year, which should only be 100K records but it is now extracting up to 17M records and still going. I am not sure if I should stop the load because it seems that it is loading the complete table CDHDR which is 80M.
Here is my code form my FM:
Fill range tables BW will only pass down simple selection criteria
of the type SIGN = 'I' and OPTION = 'EQ' or OPTION = 'BT'.

I have the other SELECT commented out because I was getting an error dump on the R3 side saying "One of the field names in the SELECT clause was not recognized.", referring to statement "OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD S_CURSOR FOR", so I am using the other SELECT that is not commented out.
I think I am following what you are referring to about the SELECT but not quite completely. What would you suggest to rewrite for the UDATE issue to process both the Full and Delta data?

R/3 Patch Upgrde Problem due BW Delta Queue.

Hi Expert,
I have extracted all the logistic & delta data in BW to make delta queue emplty. My query is that ,should it delete these queue in RSA7 or it should disappear after extraction.
In LBWQ there are only two entry MCEX17 & MCEX17_1 , these queue are still there after extraction.what to do these queue ?
These queues are giving error while upgrading patch.

There is no need to delete the queues for the upgrade, you only need to make sure that there is no data in these queues in rsa7 that need to be extracted, if you run the relevant infopackage twice on the BW side then it should clear the data from RSA7 , before doing this please make sure that all data has been updated from lbwq to rsa7 (if using queued delta) and that there is no data in sm13 for the queues. In RSA7 you can double click on the Individual queues and if you check under delta and delta repeat option for these logistics queues you should find 0 records.

Writing to FI-GL records to Delta Queue using a Function Module

Has anyone of you tried to write FI-GL transactions to delta queue using BTE by configuring a function module. I am trying to achieve it for a datasource based on a view on FAGLFLEXA table (GL Line Items). For some reason I am not able to see records in Delta Queue. I am doing this to achieve RDA functionality. If you have done it please sends me step sequence and the name of FM.

Wxtract and Delta Queues

Hi All
In order to patch our ECC system one of the pre requisites is to clear all the BW Extract & Delta Queues.
I am aware that Logistics uses these Queues and I can clear them from LBWE.
How can I tell if any other areas of ECC also use these queues.
Can you tell which modules do or can I looks for certain processes on ECC.

Hi,
These data source use delta queue to send data to the BW and not the extraction queue.
There are two sets of data sources in BW ...for one which the delta is maintained through the extaction queue like LO data sources and another set like FI data source which use the delta queue directly and there delta is trigerred by scheduling an infopackage in BW...like FI-GL data sources
For FI data sources delta records will get fetch directly from the underlying tables when the infopackage is scheduled in BW and will delta queue to store the delta records for the repeat of the delta.
But in first case i.e. LO data sources the delta is generated by the R/3 system and is sent to the delta queue at regular interval by controlled jobs.
There are lot of links which tells you the difference between the FI and LO data sources and you can search for them...but they all contain the same thing which I have mentioned.

Issue in loading XML data in BW delta queue

Hello All,
My requirement is to stage small amount of XML data in SAP BW. For doing so, i have followed below steps...
1. Create File data source
2. Define Myself data source using file data source with Function module
3. Initialize load process without no data transfer
4. Using SOAP RFC service, Load xml records in delta queue.
Now in step number 4, i am unable to open the SOAP RFC service using which we can select the xml file.
Any help in this regard will be highly appriciated.

SOAP/RFC service is already activated. Only problem i am facing is as below.......
1. Created HTML page by copying html snipest
2. On created HTML page, select XML file as an input and URL of SOAP service which is pointing out to the application server
3. When i press "Send recordset" button, HTML page throws "Java script" error and data is not being pushed to BW delta queue....
Please share your ideas to resolve this issue.

Problem with Data source- full load is not extracting where as delta can.

I have a problem in loading of the region values into BW.
Data Source 0CRM_OPPT_I is used to fetch opportunities ( same as Sales Orders in ECC) from CRM system.Data source has a field 0CRM_TR which gives the values of region values pof the employee responsible. problem here is that CRM_TR value is not being fetched when the record was first created, but the value is being flown to BW in the delta run i.e. when a change happened in record.
Please anyone help us out in resolving this issue.

Hav u done init........if yes........What u hav done....I mean.....init with or w/o data transfer.....?
It has picked records or not? if yes...........after init.........hav u checked the Delta queue(RSA7) in the source system...........is the Total field is 0 or not.........if 0..then....
Look if u r using Direct delta.then after init.any changes or new records will get recorded in the Delta queue(RSA7) directly..........but if the Update mode is Unserialized V3 update or Qued delta.then data will accumulated in the Update table and the Extraction Queue respectively...........in that case u hav to schedule V3 jobs to pull them in RSA7............otherwise delta load will pick 0 records only........
Check the update mode of the Datasource in LBWE.......

Load data with Delta

Hello Expert,
I loaded data from SAP R/3 into PSA using Delta mode and found that a new record which was just created was not loaded into SAP BI. What could be possible?
Step of loading
1. Initial without data into PSA
2. Full load with criteria Fiscal Period (e.g. 001.2009 - 016.2009) into PSA
3. Load data from PSA into DSO with update mode = Delta
4. Create a new transaction from SAP R/3
5. Load data from SAP R/3 into SAP BI-PSA with update mode = Delta
Expected Result: A new record should be loaded into PSA.
Actual Result: There was no record loaded.
After initial loading without data, is it necessary to full load with all fiscal period. And then load with Delta mode?
I have never seen this kind of problem before.
Is anyone familiar with this kind of problem? How did you resolve it?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Is your Datasource is Logistics? if so how the job has been scheduled in LO cockpit (hourly / daily)
Did you check the record in Delta Queue(RSA7) ??
After initial loading without data, is it necessary to full load with all fiscal period. And then load with Delta mode?
I have never seen this kind of problem before.
If you have specific selections you have to do it by repair full load .. and it doesn't impact delta loads

Request data again from delta queue to PSA , but error

I extract 1 record from delta queue to PSA,it is success, and then I set request to 'Red' in the PSA monitor, and delete that request,and start infopackage again ,
then 1 delta record was loaded, so, it is success.
but,
when I repeat the upon operate(set request to 'red',and request data again), the system then alert below error:
Last delta update is not yet completed Therefore,
no new delta update is possible You can start the request again if the last delta request is red or green in the monitor (QM activity)
why?

Hi ,
If your last delta was red only then system will ask to repeat the same request it is called Repeat Delta,
if you make your request Green then you won't get the message because this then assume that your last delta was successful ,
But if you don't want to loose your data in DELTA process, then you must do Repeat Delta ,
if you have very less data in your ODS and you are not sure about what is updated then
you may delete all the data from ODS and delete the INIT request and initialise the load again.

Delta queue with transparent tables based on table data changes

Dear all,
once, I was able to find a document (maybe a how-to, if I'm not wrong) that covered a very interesting solution, that I need to implement due to a specific requirement.
Let me explain what's the catch.
In the source system (SAP based), there's a couple of tables that have an unsorted key but doesn't have dates or timestamps. I need to retrieve the information from such tables with a delta procedure. Due to the lack of delta supporting fields, I can't enable generic delta or even FM-based extraction.
The solution I saw once, suggested that Source System's tables could have the change log enabled from within the data dictionary (SE11) and then, that data change monitoring could be coupled with the delta queue mechanism (tRFC or qRFC enabled).
Could you, please, help me with that subject or, if possible, try to recover the document that explained that? Be sure I have put all my efforts trying to find that doc. by myself.

Hi Michel,
I'm not aware of any document but I made use of such a delta-mechanism a couple of times. Be aware that you should not use it for large tables or tables of which the content changes a lot (inserts/modifications/deletions). The system will create many huge logs which will consume a lot of disk-space.
Procedure:
1) Activate the logging on your table (SE11 -> enter table name -> go to Technical settings -> flag 'Log data changes')
2) Create a Generic DS based on FM (should be possible!) but do not touch the delta functionality; this has to be build into the FM
3) For the FM e.g. use a copy of RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE
4) Customize the code to your needs; in the first call fetch the data from the change logs using FM DBLOG_READ_WITH_STATISTIC
5) This FM has dates and times as import parameters. As you don't have them you could create a Z-table in which you keep track of the extractions done. For the next load you then exactly know which logs to fetch (since stored date & time of last load).
Hope this helps you getting up to speed! It's a bit of a hassle but once set up will work fine.

Master Data Delta Queue

Hi guys.... i want to konw how could i define or configure the delta queue for a master data datasource like 0MATERIAL, i only activated and transfer the data source but i didn´t define or activate the delta queue, i want to know if is necesary to load all records every time i want to load master data

Hi Oscar,
Once you do an initialization upload for data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR in BW then the data source will automatically appear in RSA7 delta queue. Later if new material records are created they get stored in RSA7 and you can extract them into BW using Delta.
