  • Load Applet to Java card

    hi,
I load A applet to java card. Then i load B applet.
But i want to load if key match then only load A or B applet.
How can i maintain load applet.
I am using Eclipse SDK JCOP31 tool.

    thanks for reply.
I am using Eclipse SDK JCOP 31 tools for Java card applet development and loading same into java card.
when  loading applet into java card some internal authentication process is handled by JCOP.
But i don't have clear idea about this authentication process.
So can any one explain which algorithm they used for authentication & how they will be setting the Key for the same.
If i want to change the algorithm and key in JCOP how i can proceed?
    Regard,

  • The version number of export file in Java Card 2.2 is not correct

    Hi all,
I used jdk1.3.1 and java card 2.2's exp2text tool to see the content of an export file. The value of minor_version is 1. But the JCVM 2.2 spec. says it should be 2. So which one is correct?
    Joey

Read my post again....indicate binary compatibility or incompatibility between successive implementations of a package.
I can gerenate CAP files generated with JC 2.2., and load onto my JC 2.1.1 cards. AS LONG as I'm not using JC 2.2 implementation.
Run the exp2Text on javacard.framework.service and notice that it should read minor = 2. That's because to use that export, JC 2.2 is minimal required implementation.

  • How to load file using Java

    Hello,
I am trying to load file into the TimesTen (csv or txt) using Java language. I tried using query "LOAD DATA INFILE ..." but I received error that there is something wrong in word "DATA", later I tried to copy solution from sample programs written in Java but I get a lot of error which i couldn't solve. I also tried to use ttBulkCp in Java like this: query = {CALL ttBulkCp ... } but it wasn't working as well. There must be a way to load data from file to the TimesTen table using script written in Java, right?
    Thank you for any ideas.

If you take a look at the quickstart guide you get when you install the product you'll see a java code example called 'level3.java' which does what you want:
This program uses the TimesTen JDBC driver to perform order processing operations:
    a) Connect to the database using the TimesTenDataSource interface
    b) Process all orders in the input3.dat file by inserting into the ORDERS and ORDER_ITEM tables.....
    Regards
    Tim

  • Writing into file in java card

    hi
i am new to java card. What i need to do is to write a value in a particular file and read it everytime the mobile is switched on. Can anyone please guide me how do i create this file and read and write into it
    regds
    silverline

Not really a SQL Developer question. You would be better over in the SQL and PL/SQL forum.
You don't say what DBMS version you are using but if it is 10g or later, you don't need to restart the database to enable directories to write to.
The utl_file_dir initialisation setting should no longer be used. Use CREATE DIRECTORY instead.

  • Storing file to java card

    HELP NEEDED URGENT!
I want to store a file to a java card. (eg a text file)I want to enter the name of the text file to a text box and then store it to the card. How do i do this?
Then i want to retrieve this file from the card. How do i do this? Pleas help as this is URGENT!!!
    Thanks
    J.

Are you asking how to use middleware like OCF or PCSC to send the data to the card ? If so, that would be a large answer that I would recommend you read a bit.
    For OCF www.opencard.org,
For PCSC - somewhere on MSDN ( always hard to find anything on MSDN. Today, you can find it at MSDN > Security > SDK Documentation > Authentication > Authentication Reference > Authentication Functions. To save time I always just search for SCardConnect )

  • Loading files in java

I have a swing app, which in production is executed as a jar file. I would like to load a property file as well as couple of other png's and pdf's
The directory structure is application source / package
    applicaiton source / props/propertyfile.txt
    application source / folder/png's & pdf's
I access the property as "props.propertyfile" and it is working. But for other files, I am able to access it while running from command line. But not from a executable jar file.

Unless you specify the full path, files are loaded relative to your running directory. So unless you are running the JAR from the "application source" folder, it won't find the file. But if you can see one file, then maybe that's not the problem. Other than that, it would be helpful if you could post the code that you're using to read the files.
Also, if you're planning on sending your JAR out into the world, then you probably should include all your resources in the JAR itself, rather than have them as separate files. It's not too hard, and then your users don't have to worry about setting up an exact file structure so that everything is found. It's just all magically included in the JAR.

Sorry, i forgot to ask this question..
Will .cap file installed automatically, when .cap file loaded successfully?
it means that the all packages and applets would be installed automatically, when that all files loaded successfully?

  • Java Card & X 509 certificates

    Hi,
i have a question about using Java Card with X.509 Certificates (including Attribute Certificates RFC 3281).
I already have some experience with JC 2.1.1. I have implemented applets for storing files and retrieving them (deployed on card using GemXplore Developer Kit)
and then managed the communication between off card application using the OCF 1.2.
But that was back in 2004. From what i see now OCF has been abandoned.
What i want to implement now is to load Certificates on Java Card (and store files as well).
I read that in order to manage Certificates, i have to use a PKCS 11 API (like Bouncy Castle or IAKI). Does this substitute OCF? I remember OCF was complimentary to PKCS 11.
And if it does, can i use such API to read and write other files except from Certificates? Finally does it treat Attribute Certificates (AC) same as PKI Certs?
I case you need clarifications, i ll be happy to provide. Thank you in advance
    John

I think you can store keys and data to sign in the same applet. data is just data, it won't auto interfere.
about javacard 3, I think this is a very polemic subject. To feed the troll, I'll say that I'm working in a smart card company that has done cards for many years. since the beginning, i can say. All my colleagues and I think that javacard 3 is an evil. APDUs ARE card-ish and a good thing for such small CPUs. Javacard 3 has been made by sun under pressure of telcos that don't want complicated things, and are big specification fans, that never wrote a line of code. Javacard 3 will put a big overhead on card response time: as of now, there are many abstractions levels to cross to execute bytecode, and servlets and (dont know what will replace apdus) will increase transaction times.
cards are cards, not web servers. for us, public transportaton sectors guys, javacard 3 is a frankenstein. we want speed and low level access. we don't care about J2EE.
just don't tell me about the increased mem and power of new cards. How much will they cost? A javacard is already expensive, they will not get cheaper, and this will not help spreading javacards.
people working in the J2EE world will code for javacard 3 like they do for mainframes. They will require more powerful card just because they're too lazy to code a correct embedded software . Can you imagine that? Maybe javacard 4 will require a heatsink on cards.
this is a very personal opinion of course ;)

  • Java Card Tools

    Hi All,
Im new to this Forum and even to java cards. I would like to know the proper tools to use for java card development and guidelines. Is there anybody around who could help me in this regard.
    Thanks in Advance
    Ganesh

    Hello,
    Tools ?? hmm...
    What?
Three basic things about a java card application development is
    1. Write a code (you need java card libraries - find them)
    2. Compile it (to generate .class files - simple as compiling a normal java code)
    3. Convert it (to generate .cap/ .jar / .ijc / .ldr etc etc... - depending on what format you require.) - this a the one you can load on your java card.
    How?
There are no generic tools available to do it all.. but of-course there is one. Try to get SIM Alliance Loader. It can compile-convert-load(all three steps).
Hope this help. Revert if you need more info on this.

  • Java Card ROM Applets

    Hi
I need to develop Java Card ROM Applets. I need to write native C Code for the Card.
I read in forums that ROM Applets can only be loaded by Vendors. I am the Vendor.
How can I write, compile and test native code for Java Card?
I didn't find any support in Java Card Development Kit downloaded from Sun. Does it have support?
Or is there any other Software kit which supports development of ROM Applets?
    Thanks
    Abheesh

Most OS providers offer a so called custom masking process, where they merge your applications with the OS into ROM. For instance for JCOP @ NXP, you choose the mask (e.g. JCOP v2.4.1), provide the Java class files and Java Card export files and AIDs. They have an internal tool which created a custom mask where your application source code is residing in ROM. All you need to do now is to instantiate and personalize your application.
    Advantages
    - Free EEPROM
    - Shorter personalization as applications do not need to be loaded
    - ROM read is fast than EEPROM read --> better performance as code is read all the time
    - ROM cannot as easy be attacked by e.g. light attacks
    Disadvantages
    - Long lead time of 4 - 6 weeks to produce the mask
    - Volume needs to be ordered (2 to 3 wafers minimum = ~10k ICs)
    - Dependent on the OS provider <-- compared to loading in EEPROM

  • "Cap file can not load on java card"

    Hi every one,
    My problem is :
I created a cap file from my package .when I want to load cap file in the card, I got an error and loading was stoped.I opened the cap file with "HexEditor" program and I saw the version in the "Import.cap" file is "02 01", when I changed it to "00 01" my problem was solved and I could load the cap file in the card successfully.
I would like to know what is the reason of this problem ,how the capfile gets "02 01" version ?
And I would like to know, how can I find the version of sun library packages that are in the java card that I am working with(it is GemXpresso card). My mean is , the version of these packages on the card :
    A0000000620001 (java.lang)
    A0000000620101 (javacard.framework)
    A0000000620102 (javacard.security)
    A0000000620201 (javacardx.crypto)
I 'll appreciated for any help.
    yours sincerely,
    Orchid

    Dear NewOrchid
    j2sdk-1_4_2_15-windows-i586-p.exe is 48.9 MB.
i downloaded it from sun with using a proxy server software.
if you like, i can send my software to your email.
    to Woj:
if you use jdk1.5 for compiling and your card doesn't conform to
java card 2.2.2 , you can not load your cap file on the card.

  • Cannot load cap file to G&D sm@rtCafe Expoert 2.0 Java card

    Hi all,
I am new to JavaCard. I tried to load a HelloWorld cap file to G&D sm@rtCafe Expoert 2.0 Java card by using G&D Customizer 4.0. It can connect and open secure channel successfully. But when I tried to load the cap file into that card. It always provided this error:
Error: PC/SC SCardTransmit returned error code 0x45D: unknown error code
The cap file is the one in GPShell1.4.2. I tried other cap files, same error was provided. Anyone can give me some hints to solve this problem? Thank you very much!
Edited by: fanfan on Nov 20, 2008 5:36 PM

I think it may be the problem of JCDK version because G&D sm@rtCafe Expoert 2.0 Java card support JCDK2.1.1. So I compile and gen a new cap file of the HelloWord example in JCDK2.1.1 and tried to load this new cap to the javacard.
    But same error provided.
Then I gen cap file of AppNull example in JCDK2.1.1 and load it to javacard. This time a get another error :
Error: LOAD (1. of 1) response check failed with SW 6A 80
    any comments here?
