Load sequence image to make animation into flex/air

hey ,...
here is the situation,...
i would like to load a sequence of images form different URL's into flex,...
and make an animation with them,...
is  it possible ,...
how can do that,....???
thanx for your comprehension,....

It's not at all against policy but you do need a backup plan for devices without connectivity. Package a default banner to load if there is no internet access.
Apple does not require you to ask the person permission to use the internet (like Android does). You're free to load whatever you like.
You can't load or change code regardless so don't worry about that. In fact you can only even package a SWF that contains absolutely no code, otherwise it won't load, so there's no way to change the code in an iOS app. All it can do is read something on the outside and modify its behavior via pre-written and packaged code, but you can't "load or change code" in any way.
For now, mobile apps are not getting the "premium feature" tax Adobe is putting into motion August 1st. They excluded mobile. But be warned (because you made a game and might use Stage3D, who knows) that things might become more complicated if your game is serving custom banners, you're turning a profit on it and  you exceed $50,000 in sales while using premium features. Like I said though, this doesn't pertain to mobile apps, yet..

  • Drag and drop a image from html page into flex

how can i drag a image form the html page and drop it into
    the flex application.

    Hi,
There's no direct support for this. But you could implement
drag and drop the way you normally would in javascript. Except
here, on mouseUp over a div encapsulating the object or embed tag
(the flash object), you'll need to make a call into actionscript
from javascript indicating that a drag and drop happened.

  • Simlpe way to load an image with URL link into iOS with AIR

I want to be able to display an image (basically a small banner) inside my iPhone game which is loaded from my server where I can advertise new games.
What's the best way to do this?
Are there any technical issues I should be aware of?
Does it fall foul of any of Apples policies?
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Doh! Why I need an applet to load an image on the web page???

    Hi everybody.
I'm new student in Java programming and I try since to 1 week to understand, why Java applet is used to load image or something else on web page?
Why not to use shockwave or flash to load an image or an animation?
    What is the difference?
    Best regards,
    Dimnet2000
    Canada

The answer could be "why not ?"
A better answer would be "it depends on what you want to do."
If you simply want to display an image you should neither use Java nor Shockwave, plain html will be the best.
If you want to do things like:
    - accessing a database
    - dynamically creating html
    - make an application accessible within the intranet of a company
    - make all at once
    - make other dynamic things
Then Java is a good way to handle all these. Since it is a full programming language you can do more variable things than with shockwave which is fine for simple things that should look good.
Btw.: If you want to train how to use Java on a html page displaying an image with Java is no bad idea. It gives a feeling on what you have to do when using Java.
    Hope this helps, Rommie.

  • Poor performance when dragging item within a list loaded with images - Flex 4

    Hi,
I have a custom built List component that is using a TileLayout. I am using a custom itemRenderer to load images into this list from our server (in this test, 44 images rae loaded). I have enabled dragEnabled and dragMove so that I can move items around within the list. The problem comes when I start dragging an item. The dragging operation is very slow and clunky.
When I move the mouse to drag the item, the dropIndicator does not get refreshed for a few seconds and the movement feels like my PC is lagging pretty badly. I've also noticed that during this time my CPU usage is spiking up to around 25-40%. The funny part is I can scroll the list just fine without any lag at all, but the minute I drag the application starts to lag really bad. I do have some custom dragOver code that I used to override the dragOverHandler of the list control, but the problem persists even if I take that code out. I've tried with useVirtualLayout set to both true and false and neither setting made a difference.
Any ideas as to what could be causing the poor performance and/or how I can go abouts fixing it?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Ahh, good call about the Performance profiler. I'm pretty new to the profiling thing with Flex (haven't used Builder Pro before
the Flex 4 beta) so please forgive me
I found some interesting things running the performance profiler but I'm not sure I understand what to make of it all. I cleared the Performance Profile data when right before I loaded the images into the list. I then moved some images around and then captured the Profiling Data (If I understand Adobe correctly, this is the correct way to capture performance information for a set of actions).
What I found is there is a [mouseEvent] item that took 3101ms with 1 "Calls" (!!!!). When I drill down into that item to see the Method Statistics, I actually see three different Callees and no callers. The sum of the time it took the Callees to execute does not even come close to adding up to the 3101 ms (about 40ms). I'm not sure what I can make of those numbers, or if they are even meaningful. Any insight into these?
The only other items that stand out to me are [pre-render] which has 863ms (Cumulative Time) / 639ms (Self Time), [enterFrameEvent] which has 746ms / 6ms (?!), and [tincan] (what the heck is tincan?) which has times of 521ms for both Cumulative and Self.
Can anyone offer some insight into these numbers and maybe make some more suggestions for me? I apologize for my ignorance on these numbers - as I said, I'm new to the whole Flex profiling thing.
    Many thanks in advance!
Edit: I just did another check, this time profiling only from the start of my drag to the end of my drop, and I still see [mouseEvent] taking almost 1000ms of Cumulative Time. However, when I double click that item to see the Method Statistics, no Callers or Callees are listed. What's causing this [mouseEvent] and how come it's taking so long?

  • Loading .gif animations into Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac

For years I used Photoshop Elements 2 for Windows to make .gif animations with great success.
Then I switched to a Mac and bought Elements 8 for Mac.  Now, I am finding out that I can not load any
of the animations I made using Elements 2 into 8.  (And yet I can load animations I made using 8 into 2.)
In fact, I can not load any .gif animations into 8, other than if I make one and save it
as .psd.  8 allows me to make them, but not load them as .gifs.
My question:  Is there an easy way to load .gif animations into PS Elements 8 so a
person can work on the individual frames?  Am I going to have to convert any .gif animation I
want to import into 8 first into .psd?  All I seem to get when I try to load a .gif is the message
"This is an animated gif.   You can only view one frame." I have searched manuals and the
Net looking for a specific method of using PSE8 to load gif animations intact (not just one frame).
Is it possible?  Thanks. (I also have noticed that Elements 8 will not allow me to change the frame
speed -- it is unchangeable at .2)

    Dear Ms. Brundage -
I followed the directions detailed in your blog entitled "Moving a Catalog from Windows to Mac" as well as your description of the process on page 58 of your book "Photoshop Elements 9 - the missing manual."
I installed PE9 for Windows and converted my catalog.  I then backed up that catalog to an external hard drive.  I then connected the hard drive to my MAC on which I also installed Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC.  I opened the Organizer and tried to restore that converted catalog.  However, for each file in the converted catalog, a dialog box opened that said "Could not restore file:  /Volumes/Name of External Hard Drive/Filename.JPG."
I then made a second backup of the converted catalog using Photoshop Elements 9 for Windows and then tried to restore that catalog again on the MAC using Photoshop Elements 9 for MAC, again to no avail.
Do you have any idea what the problem may be?
    Thanks again.

  • How can i load a gif animation in Flex 1.5?

I used to use <mx:Image> control to load a static gif
file. Now i have a gif file that is dynamic(I mean that it has
animation). But when i use the <mx:Image> control, it has no
animation, just static images.Which control should i use ?
    thanks in advance.

    even i faced this problem..
the image remain static though it has animation,
well the beat way to put animation in flex is to run a .flv
video.. and show the kind of animation u want

  • Fastest way to load an image into memory

hi, ive posted before but i was kinda vague and didnt get much of a response so im going into detail this time. im making a java program that is going to contol 2 robots in a soccer competition. ive decided that i want to go all out and use a webcam instead of the usual array of sensors so the first step is to load an image into the memory. (ill work on the webcam once ive got something substanical, lol) since these robots have to be rather small (21cm in diameter) i can only use some pretty crappy processors. the robots are going to be both running gentoo linux on a 600 mhz processor, therefore it is absoleutely vital i have a fast method of loading and analyzing images. i need to be able to both load the image quickly, and more importainly analyze it quickly. ive looked at pixelgrabber which looks good, but ive read several things about javas image handling beging crap. these articles are a few years old, and im therefore wonding if there anything from the JAI that will do this for me. thx in advance.

well i found out why i was having so much trouble
installing JAI. im now back on windows and i cant
stand it, so hopefully the bug will be fixed soon. oIt's not so bad. I mean, that's why we love Java! Once your linux problem is fixed you can just transfer your code there as is.
well. i like the looks of JAI.create() but im not so
sure how to use it. at this stage im tying to load an
image from a file. i no to do this with pixelgrabber
you use getcodebase(), but i dont know how to do it
with JAI.create. any advice is appreciated. thx. Here are some example statements for handling a JAI image. There are other ways, I'm sure, but I've no idea which are faster, sorry. But this is quite fast on my machine.
    PlanarImage pi = JAI.create("fileload", imgFilename);
    WritableRaster wr = Raster.createWritableRaster(pi.getSampleModel(), null);
int width = pi.getWidth(); // in case you need to loop through the image
    int height = pi.getHeight();
wr = pi.copyData(); // copy data from the planar image to the writable one
wr.getPixel(w,h,pixel); //  pixel is an int array with three elements.
int red = pixel[0];     // to find out what's the red component
    int[] otherPixel = {0,0,0}
wr.setPixel(w,h,otherPixel); // make pixel at location (w,h) black.                And here's a link with sample code using JAI. I've tried several of the programs there and they work.

    Hi snkd,
You need to make use of iframe to load html content in Flex application.

  • This.stage in a SWF loaded into Flex

I'm running into an issue where I have a SWF created in Flash that adjusts its size according to parameters using Stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE and Stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT, but for some reason the reference to this.stage is lost when its loaded into Flex. In Flex, I receive an error for Cannot access property or method of a null object reference. Is there some conflict with this.stage inside of Flex?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Make sure you are accessing this.stage property late enough during the initialization of your application.
For instance, if you've got an application event trigger a call to an init() function, make sure the trigger is applicationComplete and not creationComplete.
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute"
       applicationComplete="init()">
In order to access an application's stage property, to add an event listener for instance, you'll need to make use of the applicationComplete event. This event is triggered a little later in the application initialization process.
Let me know if that does/not help.

  • Loading Aperture images into Pages doc

Have Aperture 2.1.4 and Pages '09. When using the Media tool to load images from the Aperture library (w/ images stored on internal HD), only option given is to load iPhoto images; Aperture does not appear and I do not use iPhoto. When I have tried to navigate to an onboard Aperture Library using Edit>Choose, my Aperture libraries are unable to be selected. What is the best solution?

Hmm ... interesting idea. If the idea is to drag and drop unrendered ('undeveloped') raw image data into page, why does the system not permit this without indicating an intervening application to render ('develop') the raw image data? Somewhere, somehow there has to be rendering ('developing') of raw image data of which there are as many formats as there are makes and models of digital camera, so it might make sense for the system to ask for software that is able to do the rendering ('developing').
Maybe in a future version but, at this time, Pages clearly states:
Pages accepts all QuickTime-supported formats, including the following graphics file types:
    • TIFF
    • GIF
    • JPEG
    • PDF
    • PSD
    • EPS
    • PICT
I'm not sure that this statement let us guess that Aperture files are accepted.
If someone want to insert such a file, why not build an Automator process grabbing the file,
    developping it
then inserting it in Pages ?
Apple delivers tools but can't use them for us !

  • How do I run a simple script that loads an image into photoshop CS - CS4?

    Hello,
I am at a loss on how to get my simple application to work. I have a small desktop air application that simply opens Photoshop and runs an action. I used switchboard and the application ran great on PC and MAC. However it only worked for CS3, and CS4 not CS or CS2?. Plus the size of switchboard was a bit large for my small app. I am willing to live with that though . I am using Air with Flex and wanted to know if perhaps there is a beter approach? All the application does is open photoshop, loads an image, and runs an action. Can I do this for all versions of Photoshop using switchboard? Can I do this without switchboard and just use javascript. The big issue is the Air app needs to open Photoshop, and most of the examples have me open PS first and then execute a script located in the PS directory. This needs to work outside of the PS directory. Any examples are appreciated.
I have looked at the following:
    - SwitchBoard : only works for CS3-CS4 (on my tests)
    - PatchPanel: same issue, plus seperate SDKs
    - ExtendScript: requires script to be run from PS not Air

  • Unable to load TIF images into Photoshop.

    CS4 (11.0.2) and Windows 7 Home Edition.
Have developed a problem trying to load some TIF images into Photoshop. I have a large number of images archived over a decade or more. At this point it may some of the older files that exhibit the problem. Now all these files were edited and stored using the Photoshop versions during the complete time period. The files are always saved with no compression. Have tried to load from Photoshop and clicking on the file in a file list. Photoshop just hangs and I get the message Program not responding. I can take these same files and load them into the ROXIO photo editor with no problem. Stranger yet is if I simply load the file into the ROXIO editor then "save as" back into the same folder (overwrite) the file can then be brought into Photoshop with no problem! Any ideas?

    Noel,
    Will try to keep short.
I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 from the cd CS set. Did not uninstall first. Restarted PC and Photoshop. Still failed the same way with a 3001 image.
Did the following, changing one item in the Edit->Preference->GPU Setting. After each change, closed Photoshop, reopened, brought in 3001 image, restored original setting. 3001 failed each time.
    * Unchecked Enable OpenGL Drawing
    * Advanced setup: Unchecked Advanced Drawing.
    * Advanced setup: Unchecked Color Matching
Next went to the Edit->Color Profile.
Scanned thru options and saw in the Convert Options: Engine. It was set to Adobe (ACE). ACE was the module name in the error detail!
Only other option for this is Microsoft ICM. Changed to that, close/open Photoshop and 3001 came in no problem. So did the Nikon 3000, srgb IEC 61922 2.1 and Untagged. However, when briging in an Adobe RGB(1998) image Photoshop notes Profile Mismatch. It allows me to decide what to do (use embedded profile instead of workspace; convert color to work space color; discard embedded profile. and I choose use the convert color and it loads ok. At least it loads the image! Will use this approach for now. I need to get educated on color profiles!!

  • Loading an image into an Applet from a JAR file

Hello everyone, hopefully a simple question for someone to help me with!
Im trying to load some images into an applet, currently it uses the JApplet.getImage(url) method just before registering with a media tracker, which works but for the sake of efficiency I would prefer the images all to be contained in the jar file as oppossed to being loaded individually from the server.
Say I have a class in a package eg, 'com.mydomain.myapplet.class.bin' and an images contained in the file structure 'com.mydomain.myapplet.images.img.gif' how do I load it (and waiting for it to be loaded before preceeding?
I've seen lots of info of the web for this but much of it is very old (pre 2000) and im sure things have changed a little since then.
    Thanks for any help!

  • How to dynamically load an Image into a TableView when its row/cell becomes visible?

    Hi,
I am building an application that shows tables with large amounts of data containing columns that should display a thumbnail. However, this thumbnail is supposed to be loaded in the background lazily, when a row becomes visible because it is computationally too expensive to to this when the model data is loaded and typically not necessary to retrieve the thumbnail for all data that is in the table.
I have done the exact same thing in the past in a Swing application by doing this:
Whenever the model has changed or the vertical scrollbar has moved:
    - Render a placeholder image in the custom cell renderer for this JTable if no image is available in the model object representing the corresponding row
    - Compute the visible rows by using getVisibleRect and rowAtPoint methods in JTable
    - Start a background thread that retrieves the image for the given rows and sets the resulting BufferedImage in a custom Model Object that was used in the TableModel (if not already there because of an earlier run)
    - Fire a corresponding model change event in the EDT whenever an image has been retrieved in the background thread so the row is rendered again
Btw. the field in the model class holding the BufferedImage was a weak reference in this case so the memory can be reclaimed as needed by the application.
What is the best way to achieve this behaviour using a JFX TableView? I have so far failed to find anything in the API to retrieve the visible items/rows. Is there a completely different approach available/required that uses the Cell API? I fail to see it so far.
Thanks in advance for any hints here.

Here’s what I have tried so far:
I have defined a property in my model object that contains a weak reference to the image that is expensive to load. I have modeled that reference as an inner class to the object so I have a reference to its enclosing object. That is necessary because my cell factory otherwise has no access to the enclosing model object, which it needs to trigger loading the image in the background.
The remaining problems I have is, that I don’t have sufficient control over the loading process, i.e. I need to delay the loading process until scrolling has stopped and abort it as soon as the user starts scrolling again and the visible content changes. Imagine that loading an image for a table row (e.g. a thumbnail for a video) takes 200ms to load and a user quickly scrolls through a few hundred records and then stops. With my current set-up, the user has to wait for all loading processes that were triggered in the cell factories to finish until the thumbnails of the records they are looking at will appear (imagine an application like finder to be implemented like that, it would simply suck UX-wise). In my swing application a background thread that loads images for the visible records is triggered with a delay and stopped as soon as the visible content changes. This works well enough for a good user experience. I don’t see how I can do this based on the cell API. It is nice to have all this abstracted away but in this case I do not see how I can achieve the same user experience as in my swing application.
I also tried registering a change listener to the TreeCell’s visible property to make that control the image loading but I don’t seem to get any change events at all when I do that.
    I must be missing something.
