Load strategy 6 TB data , oracle to oracle

Hi,
What’s the quickest way to load multiple terabytes worth of data from 10+ smaller oracle db’s (v11.2) into one bigger oracle db (v11.2, 3node rac) on Linux?
Thank you

Hi,
thanks for the info, I can deal with the tablespace name, basically i dont mind using unique naming for tbl spaces ..., I'm also happy to use unique >table names but the required end result is to join all those data together and append to one bigger table for example >customer1,customer2customer2... all to be appended to customer table and order1,order2,order3 all to be appended to the main order table in >the target db .. hope this makes sense ..The requirement would be that the tables be the same geometry. If so then your imports would look like this:
Let's say you ave 3 customer dump files.
cust1.dmp
cust2.dmp
cust3.dmp
and all of them have tables user1.orders
Then the first impdp would be normal:
impdp user1/password dumpfile=cust1.dmp ...
The rest of the impdp commands would have this added
table_exists_action=append
This will cause data to be appended to existing tables if they exist. If the tables do not exist, then the table will be created and the data will be inserted into that table.
If the table names changed or if the schemas changed, then you will need to add some remap transforms to the impdp command:
Let's say cust1.dmp has user1.orders and cust2.dmp has user2.orders
You would want to add:
remap_schema=user2:user1
to the second impdp (along with the table_exists_action=append) to make the data from user2.orders be imported into user1.orders.
I also have club field but that doesnt seem to be a problemNot sure what this club field means.
(■Limitation: The tablespaces to be transported contain no columns with the CLOB data type, or the source and the target database character sets are both single-byte or both multibyte.).
should I stil consider the TTS? or its not suitable for my case anymore?Appending data to an existing table is only available for non-tts jobs. For tts jobs, the tables would have to be uinque. If they are not unique you would have to use the remap_table or remap_schema to make them unique.
i say this because my ideal strategy has to be the fastest one ? and unsure
about how long it might take to re-organize data in the main db for example appending all to one table ...I'm not sure if the transportable move along with the appending of data would be faster than just running each impdp without transportable while having datapump append the data for you. If you can use the parallel parameter of datapump, that will help move the data faster.
however my main db is going to be partitioned so when it comes to doing select/insert it will only insert into one partition of customer or order >table. in another word every tablespace ( or group of tablespaces from smaller db) will have data related to one partition ..If each customer is going to be it's own partition in a table, I would think that you could import all of the tables as individual tables and then use exchange partition to have the customer flat table exchanged into your partitioned table. If this is the case, then transportable would probably be your fastest approach:
Above you said that each database has the same tables, are they just named the same, or do they have the same geometry? There may be different ways of doing this depending on what version your databases are. Can you please list the versions of the databases that you are coming from and going to?
Thanks

    Hi everyone!
    The following are the steps to load a excell sheet to oracle table.i tried to be as simple as possible.
    thanks
    Step # 1
    Prapare a data file (excel sheet) that would be uploaded to oracle table.
    "Save As" a excel sheet to ".csv" (comma seperated values) format.
    Then save as to " .dat " file.
    e.g datafile.bat
    1,Category Wise Consumption Summary,Expected Receipts Report
    2,Category Wise Receipts Summary,Forecast Detail Report
    3,Current Stock List Category Wise,Forecast rule listing
    4,Daily Production Report,Freight carrier listing
    5,Daily Transactions Report,Inventory Value Report
    Step # 2
    Prapare a control file that define the data file to be loaded ,columns seperation value,name and type of the table columns to which data is to be loaded.The control file extension should be " .ctl " !
    e.g i want to load the data into tasks table ,from the datafile.dat file and having controlfile.ctl control file.
    SQL> desc tasks;
    Name Null? Type
    TASK_ID NOT NULL NUMBER(14)
    TASK_NAME VARCHAR2(120)
    TASK_CODE VARCHAR2(120)
    : controlfile.ctl
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE 'e:\datafile.dat'
    INTO TABLE tasks
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    (TASK_ID INTEGER EXTERNAL,
    TASK_NAME CHAR,
    TASK_CODE CHAR)
    The above is the structure for a control file.
    Step # 3
    the final step is to give the sqlldr command to execute the process.
    sqlldr userid=scott/tiger@abc control=e:\controlfile.ctl log=e:\logfile.log

    PLEASE NOTE: Command-line parameters may be specified either by position or by keywords. An example of the former case is 'sqlldr scott/tiger foo'; an example of the latter is 'sqlldr control=foo userid=scott/tiger'. One may specify parameters by position before but not after parameters specified by keywords. For example, 'sqlldr scott/tiger control=foo logfile=log' is allowed, but 'sqlldr scott/tiger control=foo log' is not, even though the position of the parameter 'log' is correct.

  • How to load multiple CSV files into oracle in one go.

    I have project requirement like: I'll be getting one csv file as one record for the source table.
    So i need to know is there any way by which I can load multiple csv in one go. I have searched a lot on net about external table.(but problem is I can only use one consolidate csv at a time)
    and UTL_FILE same thing consolidate file is required here to load.
    but in my scenario I'll have (1000+) csv files(as records) for the table and it'd be hectic thing to open each csv file,copy the record in it and paste in other file to make consolidate one.

  • SQL*Loader-704 & ORA-12535 error , Oracle 9i AIX, Windows Client

    Hi All,
    I try to run SQL*Loader from Windows Client to Oracle 9i server on AIX. The control file is in the windows machine.
    C:\SqlLdr user/password@myoradb control=mycontrol.ctl
    (the data is 300,000 rows, on the same control file)
    I get this error :
    SQL*Loader-704 : Internal error : ulconnect: OCIServerAttach [0]
    ORA-12535: TNS:Operation timed out.
    FYI, from the same machine, TNSPing is OK, SQL*Plus run perfectly.
    What is wrong here ?
    Should I copy the CTL file into the AIX Server and run the SQL*Plus from AIX client console ?
    Thank you for your help,
    Krist

    Have you checked the sqlnet.log file for an indication of the underlying error? You can also enable network tracing in the sqlnet.ora file, by setting trace_level_client=16.

    so is the Target Table in Oracle [All are VARCHAR2 data type] --Empty table
    I am using these KMs: CKM Oracle , IKM SQL CONTROL APPEND, LKM FILE TO SQL.
    When I execute this Interface, it fails with the following error message:
    ODI-1228: Task SrcSet0 (Loading) fails on the target ORACLE connection [Connection_Name]

    I checked the Code and Source Code is null , Target Code is: Create Table schema.Load_{table_name} ( )
    With no columns in it.
    Can anyone help? I am using Oracle ODI 11G (11.1.1)
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    if i remember well ( i haven't ODI opened) LKM FILE TO SQL. needs to have all mapping done into staging area. Click on a column, check Staging Area symbol (hammer), save and re-execute.
    Remember to check that your mapping is enabled (just click on a column, first checkbox in property inspector)
    If it doesn't work please make some screenshot or at least post your execution code.

  • How to load a java file into Oracle?

    Hello,
    I have some problem in loading a java file into Oracle 8i. I used "loadjava -user <userName/Password> -resolve <javaClassName>" command.
    JAVA Version used JDK 1.5
    When calling this class file from a trigger gives this error
    ORA-29541: class ANTONY1.DBTrigger could not be resolved.
    Can anyone help me to resolve this problem?

    Hello,
    Which username did you use to load the class, and which user is running the trigger?
    The default resolver searches only the current user's schema and PUBLIC so the java class needs to be loaded into one of these.
    cheers,

    Hi,
    oracle.jbo.domain.Date has two methods which suit your needs
    longValue() which returns a long (though I'm not sure if returns a long comparable to the long returned by java.util.Date)
    and dateValue() which returns a java.util.Date
    I hope it helps,
    Giovanni

    if(calendar.getTime() <
    singleRow.getEO_ULN_BORROWFROM()); //singleRow returns
    oracle.jbo.domain.Date
    how can i compare those 2? You cannot compare these two values directly. You must convert the oracle.jbo.domain.Date object to a GregorianCalendar object. Something like:
      oracle.jbo.domain.Date dt = singleRow.getEO_ULN_BORROWFROM();
      GregorianCalendar gc = new GregorianCalendar(dt.getYear(), dt.getMonth(), dt.getDay());
      if (calendar.getTime() < gc.getTime())
      }

  • Master data Load - Strategy

    Hi All,
    I would like to know the better master data strategy.
    When using 3.x master data load strategy I can load directly into the info object without going thru additional DTP process. Is there any specific advantages of doing this, besides that it is 7.X.
    I have been using 2004s from 2005 but most of the implementations we used 3.x methodology for master data load and  DTP for transaction load. i would like to know whether SAP recommands new methodology using DTP for master data loads? If I load my master data using 3.x I can avoid one extra step, but will it be discontinued in the future? and have to use DTP even for this?
    Please advice if you know what is the best way forward strategically an dtechnically?
    Thanks,
    Alex.

    Alex,
    Please read my answer...
    The new data flow designed by SAP is using the DTP, even for Master Data... Right now you can use the "3.x" style which they maintain for backward-compatibility but down the road, eventually, it will be dropped, so looking ahead, technically and strategically, the right way to go is by using DTP...
    You can go here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm and check under Data Warehousing, Data Distribution, Data Transfer Process...
    You could also open an OSS note to SAP and ask them directly.
    Thanks,
    Luis
