Load Vars from asp page

Hi,
I'm passing variables to Flash by using strings in the embed
and param tags. When the variables are received by flash the .swf
goes to a specific frame label. It works in Netscape and firefox
but not in IE.
Anyone know why?
The code I am using is:
<object classid="clsid
27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0"
width="740" height="223">
<param name="movie"
value="images/flash/level_3.swf?movie=gogo">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<embed src="images/flash/level_3.swf?movie=gogo"
quality="high" pluginspage="
http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="740"
height="223"></embed>
</object>

  • Can I set a bookmarked link to open in the sidebar AND when a new page is loaded/originates from this page?

    Example: I have Google advanced search bookmarked and set to open in the sidebar. When I submit the search, I'd like it to open in the main view port. Is there a way to make links, POST/GET requests or otherwise any new page loads originating from the page loaded in the sidebar?

    So, if I remove a session var is there a way to test for its existence as well?
    Thanks,

  • Loading Variables from ASP into Flash

    I can find plenty of tutorials detailing how to load
    variables from a defined asp page into Flash, but here's my
    dilemma...
    I have an asp page that is reading a URL with a unique
    identifier in it (www.sampleURL.com?id=123456), and then turns the
    id number from the URL into a variable. On the same page then, sits
    my swf where I need to use LoadVars to pull in that ASP variable
    via Actionscript. If I don't have a static asp page to pull the
    variables in from and I want to pass the variable within the same
    asp page the swf is located on, how do I do it? Many thanks in
    advance...

    You don't need LoadVars for this at all. You can just pass
    the variable to
    your Flash movie by specifying a query string when you are
    calling the
    movie.
    If you are using the straight object, embed method then it
    would look
    something like this:
    <param name="movie" value="movie.swf?id=11111">
    <embed src="movie.swf?id=11111" ... >
    If you are using the ActiveContent JavaScript for your movie
    then you just
    leave off the .swf... so
    "name", "movie?id=11111"
    Then, in flash you can access the value of id from the _root,
    like
    var idInFlash:Number = _root.id;
    Of course in the above example you would replace 11111 with
    the proper
    syntax for printing a variable's value in ASP.

  • Multi page recordset output from ASP page on Spry Tabbed Panel Widget

    I am using a simple Spry Tabbed panel set on my asp page to show the output from different ASP pages, inside the tabbed panels. The tabbed panels on the page under consideration (destination page) display the output from different asp pages (source pages). The source asp pages generate multi page outputs which are paginated on the source page itself and pagination links are displayed on the source page itself.
    However, we dont want to display the source page outside of the tabbed panel, but instead the output content from the source asp pages should show inside the tabbeed panels only. The first page generated by the source asp page displays correctly inside the tabbed panel. However, when the user clicks on the links for the next page generated by the source asp page, but which is being displayed inside the destination page tabbed panel, they dont display the next page inside the tabbed panel. Instead the source asp page displays the output outside the tabbed panel destination  page.
    Please advise on how to ensure that the user can page through the recordset generated by the source asp page by clicking on the pagination links at the bottom of the records, while ensuring that the output displays within the tabbed panels on the destination asp page.
    I am enclosing the source code being used to generate the spry tabbed panel widget and also updating it with the output from the source asp page. In this case, the code given below is from the main page containing the widget and the source asp page is "sample.asp", which generates multi page output.
    Please note that I am not too keen on using xml data sets output from the source asp page, but would be more comfortable with directly using the asp pages to fill the tabbed panel content.
    Please help

    </script>
    </body>

    I fully agree that the problem does not lie with tthe tabbed panels.
    The solution would probably be first required to be tried using ajax on any div tab.
    Then the same code would have to be used on Sprytabbed panel. Hence, the following may be advised:
    1. Sample code for server side pagination and displaying inside any div tag and refreshing it using ajax. the update link would also lie inside the div tag which would show the next/ previous page without reloading the page.
    2. Then adapting the refresh technique using ajax in the Spry Tabbed panel using the inbuilt updatecontent method of the Spry Tabbed panels.
    In order to achieve the above, I am getting the recordset output in the tab content as expected. The recordset is also getting the pagination links from server side asp as required.
    However, it is also generating the following error.
    Webpage error details
    Message: Unterminated string constant
    Line: 9
    Char: 56
    Code: 0

  • Moving Dynamic data from asp page to word doc

    I am trying to acquire data from a user using an asp page,
    then when the user is done entering his/her data, the submit button
    is pressed and the data will go to a formatted word doc or a pdf
    file. I am using dreamweaver version 8.0. Is there a quick way to
    do this? Does dreamweaver need an addin to be able to this or is
    there code that can be used to do this?

    It is not DW that needs the addon but the server that the
    site is running
    on. There are quite a number of components for writing
    documents or PDF's. I
    would check with you host if they have any available.

    I have a working Win2k/MDAC 2.6 box, that can connect perfectly to an Oracle 8.1.7 on another machine. I can TNS ping this host, I set up an ODBC DSN and I can connect from the Oracle ODBC Test program. I wrote a simple script (see below) to test the connection, and run it as a Windows script (i.e. double click on the file) and it runs perfectly. All is great.

  • Srollpane scrolls when loaded data from XML, not when loaded data from ASP

    Hi,
    I load into scrollpane a swf, which has a dynamicly loaded
    data. If I use the XML file, it works (the scrollbar is visible),
    but if I use a asp file, which creates xml, it doesn't work (the
    scrollbar is not visible). Any ideas?

    Hi,
    let say I have a A.swf and a B.swf. In A.swf I have a
    scrollpane in to wich the B.swf is loaded. Below is the code in
    B.swf. If I load the data from a asp file, the scrollbar in the
    scrollpane is not visible, but if I use the xml file, the scrollbar
    is visible.
    What I've meant is that I think that Flash gets the same form
    of data, no matter if I use the asp or xml, because the asp creates
    the same xml form as I use in the xml file. I hope this makes any
    sense.

    Ok, after doing much research on the internet, I am pretty
    sure you have to be a Flash and Actionscripting Jedi in order to
    solve this issue. Here we go:
    I have created an HTML page using PHP and MySql that displays
    image thumbnails. When a user chooses and clicks on one of the
    thumbnails, I want the larger image to be loaded into my swf. It is
    a jigsaw puzzle component I picked up here: www.crifano.com. Here
    is the puzzle on my page with an image manually inserted using
    Flash 8 (Note: This is only working in Internet Explorer right now,
    for whatever reason):
    http://premieretans.com/puzzle/jigsaw.php.
    I want the image on this page to be chosen by the user from a
    number of images that are populated on a regular PHP/HTML page from
    a MySql database. What is the best way to go about this?
    Thanks so much for the help on this matter. I know I am not
    the only person who has run into this dilemma, so I hope your
    knowledge will save others with a similar problem the hours I have
    spent on this issue myself. Thank you!
    Cheers-
    Charles

    Hi,
    There's no direct support for this. But you could implement
    drag and drop the way you normally would in javascript. Except
    here, on mouseUp over a div encapsulating the object or embed tag
    (the flash object), you'll need to make a call into actionscript
    from javascript indicating that a drag and drop happened.
    For more info, see
    how
    to drag and drop using javascript and
    actionscript
    and javascript communication

  • Link to Content Area from ASP page brings up default page

    I have a link on an ASP to the content area. When the user clicks on the link, he/she is required by the portal to provide their username/password. After entering the correct information, the users are displayed their default page NOT taken to the content area.
    Any ideas?

    Unfortunately, the only way to do this would be to not show the sub-folder region and add URL items in another region that link to the folder page in question.

  • Sql data into Existing PDF from ASP page

    I have a property form that was created use Adobe Pro X with various data fields, and a signature block. How can I get that form to get data from SQL database, then either print it out or email to the user for digital signature. So on this webpage you select
    the user, and there would be buttons to generate a property form for print out or email the pdf for digital signature then the user would email that back.
    thanks in advance.

  • Migrating Content from a Custom ASP Page to a SharePoint Page Layout. Includes object tags to flash CSS images

    Hi Guys,
    I'm currently getting issues when trying to migrate content from ASP Pages used in a custom intranet developed by a client to SharePoint Pages.
    My current strategy to do so is as per below:
    a. Create ASPX Pages in Page Library with SharePoint Designer
    b. Copy all common resource files needed by the pages within the Pages library. Includes folders for Javascript, CSS, images etc. This way relative address of resources in pages will pick up pages library as default folder
    for resources.
    c. Copy Source Code of Page from Browser by right-clicking ‘View Page Source’/ Copy code from .asp file
    d. Clean the code to remove unnecessary codes from SharePoint Pages.
    At this point page renders without SharePoint Branding.
    However if I apply SharePoint Master Page onto the ASPX page by using Style > Attach > Default Master Page, this generates an Error when the page renders.
    What is missing in this approach or what would be the best approach to migrate the page to SharePoint without code solution?
    Grateful if you could help.
    Thanks
    Rhyan.

    Hi Rhyan,
    As I understand, you want to create a custom application page in SharePoint 2013.
    If you copy the code in the asp page to aspx page, it cannot work. You should write the new code that can work in the asp file for the SharePoint aspx page.
    There is a similar case:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/sharepoint/en-US/0a97820a-59b9-4430-a98c-d2941803c38e/classic-asp-pages-to-sharepoint-pages-migration
    You can create a web application page in the visual studio. You also can explicitly change which master page is used by the application page by setting the MasterPageFile attribute of the application Page element. (For example: MasterPageFile="~/_layouts/applicationv4.master").
    The articles below are about creating application Pages for SharePoint.

    ok here is my code so far.....i've set a movieclip where i want the captions and set the dyn text box above the clip....i've given the movieclip a background n faded so images can still be seen behind.
    im just having a problem with the loop.....each one i tried resulted in the caption staying the same no matter what thumbnail is clicked.
    are there any suggestions as to how this can be done......(please bare in mind im a newbie to actionscript)

  • ASP page stops loading after Javascript

    Hi all
    I have an ASP page that works fine on it's own. However, I
    have an include file that calls a .js The Javascript has a function
    that compares two field values and if both values match a specific
    string it pops up an alert to the user. The javascript works fine
    but the ASP page doesn't finish loading into the browser "Please
    wait while page loads....." error message. This also prevents any
    conditions from being applied to fields that have been created
    following the above two fields. Can't see any errors using DW 8.
    Any help or pointers to help much appreciated

    I have resolved this, thanks to anyone who spent time on
    this.
