Loading all jars in a folder at runtime

Hi...
Suppose , i have a folder in which there are many jars which depends upon each others....
I need to load all the jars at one go ....
I am using below code
public URLClassLoader loaderNEW(String jarFileName) {
          File file = new File("D:\\ESTED JAR\\");
     String libDir="D:\\ESTED JAR\\";
     try {
          File dependencyDirectory = new File(libDir);
               File[] files = dependencyDirectory.listFiles();
               URL[] urls = new URL[20];
               for (int i = 0; i < files.length; i++) {
               if (files.getName().endsWith(".jar")) {
               urls[i]=(files[i].toURL());
               //urls.add(files[i].toURI().toURL());
     // Convert File to a URL
     // Create a new class loader with the directory
     ClassLoader loader = new URLClassLoader(urls);
     // Load in the class; Class.childclass should be located in
     // the directory file:/c:/class/user/information
     Class cls = loader.loadClass("user.informatin.Class");
     } catch (MalformedURLException e) {
     return loader;
its is giving error

  • How to load all the classes in a JAR file at runtime?

    Any clues o:
    "How can I force JVM to load all the classes in a specified JAR at once?"
    Thanx!
    -Rajeev

    Well I was thinking may be there exists an option with "java", when I
    am starting an application from a jar file, I could force it to load all
    the classes in the JAR. I don't want to do it programically. Is there such
    an option available?? Or in other words can I ask JVM to not do the dynamic
    loading for the JAR??
    Thanx.
    List all JarEntries and convert the paths to fully
    qualified class files
    e.g file in jar
    [1] /com/mycompany/proj/X.class
    should become
    [2] com.mycompany.proj.X
    then for each entry issue
    Class.forName( [2] );

  • How to Read all files inside resource Folder inside Jar?

    I have a Jar file,,,, The program reads for resource files in the resource folder inside the Jar. I want my program to read all files inside this folder without knowing the names or the number of files in the folder.
    I am using this to make an Applet easy to be updated with spicific files. I just want to add a file inside the resource folder and Jar the program and automatically the program reads what ever is in there!!
    I used the File class to get all file names inside the resource folder. it works fine before Jarring the program. After I jar I recieve a URI not Herarichy Exception!!
    File fold=new java.io.File(getClass().getResource(folder).toURI());
    String[] files=fold.list();
    I hope the question is clear!!

    How to get the directory and jar file that you class resides in:
    // returns path and jarfile (ex: /home/mydir/my.jar)
    public String getJarfileName()
            // Get the location of the jar file and the jar file name
            java.net.URL outputURL = YourClass.class.getProtectionDomain().getCodeSource().getLocation();
            String outputString = outputURL.toString();
            String[] parseString;
            int index1 = outputString.indexOf(":");
            int index2 = outputString.lastIndexOf(":");
            if (index1!=index2) // Windows/DOS uses C: naming convention
               parseString = outputString.split("file:/");
            else
               parseString = outputString.split("file:");
            String jarFilename = parseString[1];
           return jarFilename;
    }If your my.jar was in /home/mydir, it will store "/home/mydir/my.jar" in jarFilename.
    note: getLocation returns "file:/C:/home/mydir/my.jar" for Windows/DOS and "file:/home/mydir/my.jar" for windows, thus why I look for the first and last index of the colon so I can correctly split the string.
    If you want to grab a file in the jar file and get an InputStream, do the following:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.Enumeration;
    // jar stuff
    import java.util.jar.*;
    import java.util.zip.ZipEntry;
    public class Jaris
       private JarFile jf;
       public Jaris(String jarFilename) throws Exception
           try
                           jf = new JarFile(jarFilename);
           catch (Exception e)
                jf=null;
                throw(e);
       public InputStream getInputStream(String matchString) throws Exception
           ZipEntry ze=null;
           try
              Enumeration resources = jf.entries();
              while ( resources.hasMoreElements() )
                 JarEntry je = (JarEntry) resources.nextElement();
                 // find a file that matches this string from anywhere in my jar file
                 if ( je.getName().matches(".*\\"+matchString) )
                    String filename=je.getName();
                    ze=jf.getEntry(filename);
          catch (Exception e)
             throw(e);
          InputStream is = jf.getInputStream(ze);
          return is;
       // for testing the Jaris methods
       public static void main(String[] args)
          try
               String jarFilename=getJarfileName();
               Jaris jis = new Jaris(jarFilename); // this is the string we got from the other method listed above
               InputStream is=jis.getInputStream("myfile.txt"); // can be used for xml, xsl, etc
          catch (Exception e)

  • Loading all images from Jar include the directory structure.

    Hi I would like to puts all my images in a Jar. is it going to improve the loading speed?
    I have a ImageLibary that load all the images to a hashtable and access each image by their path and filename.
    I only have to input the image root directory and it will load all the images including sub-directory. If I decide to put these directories in a JAR. is this still going to work? Do all the class files has to be in the same JAR?
    use getResourse()?
    My current ImageLibary is like this:
    public class ImagesLibary extends Component
    private Hashtable imagesBank;
    private Vector imagesName;
    private MediaTracker tracker;
    public ImagesLibary()
    imagesBank = new Hashtable();
    imagesName = new Vector();
    tracker= new MediaTracker(this);
    loadImageFile("./images");
    for(int i=0; i<imagesName.size(); i++)
    String key = (String)imagesName.get(i);
    Image image = getToolkit().getImage(key);
    tracker.addImage(image, 0);
    try
    tracker.waitForID(0);
    catch (InterruptedException e)
    System.err.println("Loading image: " + key + " fails. " + e);
    imagesBank.put(key,image);
    System.out.println("Loaded: " + key);
    System.out.println("Total of " + imagesBank.size() + " images.");
    private void loadImageFile(String dir)
    File imageDir = new File(dir);
    File temp[] = imageDir.listFiles();
    for(int i=0; i<temp.length;i++)
    if (temp.isDirectory())
    loadImageFile(temp[i].getPath());
    else
    imagesName.add(temp[i].getPath());

    is it going to improve the loading speed?depends :)
    is this still going to work?some ajustments are needed... but thats done quickly.
    Do all the class files has to be in the same JAR?no. but it's easier to handle.

  • Load all brushes in brush preset folder at startup

    I'm wondering if this is possible or if there is a better solution for what I'm trying to do.
    What I need to do is have a central repository of brushes or brush sets. I'll create a symlink inside the brushes folder to a space in the local drive. When photoshop is launched, we have scripts in place that will download the newest version of the repository folder to that local drive. (the users do not have permissions for the program files brushes folder) Is there a way to have photoshop load all the brushes automatically without a user having to select a set of brushes and save them?
    I'm thinking also maybe there is a corresponding file that holds data for all the sets of brushes. Perhaps I could have a centralized version of this file that I could have downloaded.
    We are using photoshop cs5 on a windows environment.
    Thanks for any possible help!

    And here is the script to go with c.pfaffenbichler's suggestion.
    // first make a path to the folde where the brushes are stored
    // the user data folder does not need admin rights to read/write
    var USER_PRESETS_FOLDER =
        new Folder(Folder.userData + '/' +
                   localize("$$$/private/AdobeSystemFolder/Adobe=Adobe") + '/' +
                   localize("$$$/private/FolderNames/AdobePhotoshopProductVersionFolder") + '/' +
                   localize("$$$/private/FolderName/UserPresetsFolder/Presets=Presets"));
    var USER_BRUSHS_FOLDER =  new Folder( USER_PRESETS_FOLDER+"/Brushes" );
    if(USER_BRUSHS_FOLDER.exists){
        var brushFiles = USER_BRUSHS_FOLDER.getFiles('*.abr');
        for(var b = 0; b < brushFiles.length; b++ ) {
            app.load( brushFiles[b] );
    // app root does need admin rights to write files
    var APP_BRUSHES_FOLDER = new Folder(app.path+'/Presets/Brushes');
    var brushFiles = APP_BRUSHES_FOLDER.getFiles('*.abr');
    for(var b = 0; b < brushFiles.length; b++ ) {
            app.load( brushFiles[b] );

  • Loading a jar via a custom classloader

    Hi,
    I have written a custom class loader that allows me to load a compiled java program as a collection of class files at runtime.
    This is nice however I now need to consider the runtime execution of more complex java programs that have custom library dependencies.
    This means loading a .jar library into the classloader. I can get the contents of a jar and load specific classes by name via reflection but I want to load the entire jar into the classloader so that its contents can be used 'as needed' much like a jar on the system classpath.
    Is this possible? If so I would like to know how as I have been struggling with this problem and cannot see a solution.
    Regards,
    Stephen

    However I still don't understand why you need to
    actually load all those classes initially. Afterall,
    URLClassLoader (which sounds a lot like what youare
    describing) only loads classes as needed.i have just built a swing app that accesses an oracle
    database, i jared together all the classes, and i did
    something in the manfest file so that you can just
    double clisk the jar and it fires up like an exe.
    doing it this way everything is fine except it cannot
    access the database, the reason is those oracle
    classes are not loaded, even they are on the path - i
    can run the app using a batch file but i dont like it
    as it opens up a dos window. this is an example, as i
    was told, where it is necessary to load all thoses
    oracle database classes initially. Dear, daFei.
    I believe that you are getting confused between the way the system will ignore that CLASPPATH environment variable when you run a java application packaged as a jar file with the -jar switch (the classpath for the jar can be set in the manifest) and what I am attempting to-do which is to run a compiled java program at runtime and dynamically load any dependant libraries.

  • Dynamically adding jars to the classpath at runtime

    Hi All,
    I have a query regarding dynamically loading jars at runtime. I am developing an application that uses third party jars and there are a number of different versions that the utility is to support so I want to be able to load the jars relating to that specific version through selection on the gui. The jar files are the same name for all versions e.g.
    v1 has app1.jar
    and v2 has app2.jar
    I have these in separate folders called app1jars and app2jars. I have tried a number of classloader examples but always get a classnotfoundException. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for replies

  • How to load a specific set of classes at runtime.

    Howdy!
    I want to load all the classes in a directory that implement a specific Interface, at runtime. Of course i can load all the classes if i know the String name.
    Class t = Class.forName(ruleClass);
         cnst = t.getConstructor( new Class[] { Session.class } );
         try {
             Object obj = cnst.newInstance(new Object[] {
                                              m_fwkSession });
             IRules rule = (IRules)obj;
                ...................where IRule is an interface.
    How do i get all the files in that directory and find the classes implementing that interfaces ?

    You can either load all the classes and then test if they are assignable from IRule.class (isAssignableFrom())
    (you could use a custom classloader if you wanted these classes to be garbage collected)
    or
    Open the class files and scan them to see if they contain
    "myPackage/IRule"
    (maybe you would have to parse the .class file, but just scanning it might be good enough)

  • How to load a Jar file in the class path?

    How to load a Jar file which contains class files, images, etc.. in the classpath without using URLClassLoader.

    You don't "load" jars. If it's on the classpath, you can obtain individual resources from it using various methods on either Class or ClassLoader. Do you mean "how to add a jar to the classpath at runtime"? Can't be done without using a classloader, typically URLClassLoader or a subclass thereof. Why you want to not use the proven method is beyond me. Presumably because you don't understand classloading. In which case, forget it.

Previously, I had over 24 MP4 files loaded, but since I have gone over that number, I can't even load that many anymore. I have ~20 GB of MP4 files, ~11 GB of MP3, and maybe 500 MB of photos that should be on my 60GB iPod. There is an additional 20+ GB of free space, so why won't they load? I reformatted the iPod, keeping it in version 1.0. I'm using iTunes 6.0.3.5.I reloaded iTunes and the library about a month ago. The only other quirky things that happens with it, is that it doesn't always shut down when I hold down the 'play/pause' button. Sometimes it takes 4-5 times to shut down. And, when its done updating, the only way to get rid of the 'do not disconnect' screen, is to shut the whole computer down. Does anyone have any suggestions? PLEASE

    I have almost the same problem, I currently have 67 movies on my 30Gb. But there are 4 movies in my library that won't go, you can watch it start to load and then it locks up and skips on to the next one. I've reset it many times, and have the current version of itunes and in my ipod. I've ripped and converted the movies all the exact same way and don't understand why the 4 won't go. I convert them with a psp program, I thought about letting itunes do it but it takes so long and the rest of them work fine.

  • How can i control what images load on my project to save preload time and avoid loading all images, elements, divs not yet visible?

    Sup buddies,
    How can I control what images load on my project to save preload time and avoid loading all images, elements, divs not yet visible?
    As the project grows in size the load time increases. How does one control not loading all images ,divs,elements etc. until they're
    needed on the timeline? For example some sections are off and only become visible when recalled. My projects slowly grow in size so loading
    all images , is counter productive . My other option would be to create separate htmls but that breaks the seamless user experience .

    hello, kiwi
    quote: "Is there an easy way to burn a completed project to DVD, but keep only the (lo res, lo size) previews on my hard drive?"
    yes.
    maybe,...
    1. you might think of making DVD backups first prior to importing the photos into Aperture. "Store Files: In their current location" once in Aperture make low rez Previews, and export finished Project.
    or,
    2. bring in the photographs to hard drive first prior to importing the photos into Aperture. "Store Files: In their current location" once in Aperture make low rez Previews, and export finished Project.
    the low rez Previews will stay in Aperture but the high quality Versions will be exported onto DVDs and gone from the hard drive (if you delete the originals).
    another way would be to export small about 50-70 pixel wide high quality jpegs to a folder on your Desktop and import & keep these in Aperture Library as a reference. make metadata to show where the original Project DVDs are stored and DVD filing system used.

  • Jinit not loading webutil jar files

    Hello,
    Our Application Server has had webutil installed on it for quiet some time now. I am implementing a custom Banner Form that requires webutil functionality. Well the form is all set, but the webutil portion does not function correctly. I have been working with the designers of this application and they recommended I make sure that my archive_jini and archive parameters be set in the file /u01/app/oracle/product/10gASforms/10.1.2/forms/server/formsweb.cfg as follows:
    archive_jini=banicons.jar,bannerui.jar,banspecial.jar,banorep.jar,frmall_jinit.jar,gwucustom.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    archive=banicons.jar,bannerui.jar,banspecial.jar,banorep.jar,frmall.jar,gwucustom.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    so I set these up as requested. When I look at my Java Console I only see the following load:
    banicons.jar, bannerui.jar, banspecial.jar, banorep.jar and frmall_jinit.jar
    I do not see gwucustom.jar, frmwebutil or jacob.jar load.
    Is there something I am missing? Do I have to restart the Application Server?
    Thank you much in advance for any guidance anyone can provide!

    I actually corrected this issue myself.
    In the formsweb.cfg file I added these properties under the default section.
    There is a section called jinit_pprd (My Pre-Production test server, I added these values under there and the .jar files are now loading.
