This is purely for XML/BI Publisher where we get the data back out of the db :o)

Need Help Urgently - Want to Load Time Data Automatically into Oracle HRMS
Hi All,
I am on my 1st Oracle HRMS project and I need urgent help on HOW TO load Time (IN/OUT) Data from a MS Access database which is populated by a Biometric Hand Geometry System.
And we need to do it in real time as the data inserted in the MS Access Database we need to pull that into Oracle HRMS for Payroll purposes.
If somebody can help me in this I'll greatly appreciate that.
Thanks, AGAIN IT IS VERY URGENT
ZeeZee,
Let's go back to your core requirement "load Time (IN/OUT) Data from a MS Access database which is populated by a Biometric Hand Geometry System".
Questions:
1. Is this time data to be used to pay a person through Oracle Payroll?
2. What legislation (country) is this for?
3. Are you using Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) as the front-end or do you intend to enter the data directly into Oracle Payroll?
See the following OTL documents:

Need to load large data set from Oracle table onto desktop using ODBC
I don't have TOAD nor any other tool for querying the database. I'm wondering how I can load a large data set from an Oracle table onto my desktop using Excel or Access or some other tool using ODBC or not using ODBC if that's possible. I need results to be in a .csv file or something similar. Speed is what is important here. I'm looking to load more than 1 million but less than 10 million records at once. Thanks.

Use Oracle's free Sql Developer
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
You can just issue a query like this
SELECT /*csv*/ * FROM SCOTT.EMP
Then just save the results to a file
See this article by Jeff Smith for other options

Tools to Auto load bulk data from SAP BW into Essbase?
Does any one know what is the most efficient way to retrieve a large amount of data from SAP BW into Essbase on a regular basis? We currenly export data from BW into several Excel files, which has the limitation of 64k row in a batch, we then load the excel files into essbase usng rules files. And it's a manual process. Do you know if there is a better tool/approach that we can use to do the data retrieve and load into essbase in one batch without need of human interference? Thanks for your good ideas!
you can use HAL to do the extraction and loading data from SAP. did you try this?

Hi,
I've to extract big volume of data (millions of records) into an ODS. But the problem is, I cannot give selections in the infopackage as there are no fields in data selection tab.
If I extract all the data, then ods activation would definately fail. Is there any of doing this?
Many Thx.I think that with Siggi's post you can have another version of the same suggestion and maybe you are better understanding..
anyway, if you want to split your load in several steps (in order to avoid a unique request with a lot of records) go to RSA6, search your datasource, check 'selection' column for a certail field, activate, replicate source system and then you will find your field available for selection in IP !
But I suggested also to check why you have an activation error, since it's not a normal situation: you can easily load one million record in the active table of your ODS...investigate about the reason and try to remove the cause !
Hope now is clearer...

Problem in flat file loading(bulk data)
Hi,
I am populating a flat file with 3lac records. I am getting error due to buffer space problem.
"Error during target file write "
around 2 lac records are getting inserted after that the above error is coming..
Now temporarily I am populating 1.5 lac and 1.5 lac in two times.
Could anyone please tell me how to solve this issue .
Thanks in Advance.I am using owb 10.2 version.
In the map source is a Oracle table, Target is a flat file.
Source table contains 3lac records.
I executed the map. During execution it is throwing the following error .
"Error during target file write "
But it has inserted 2lac records in the target file. -
Hi all,
GoodMorning,.
what exactly does the option of "Allow Bulk Data Load" option on Company Profile page do, it is clear in doc. that it allows crm on demand consultants to load bulk data. But i am not clear on how they load etc etc, do they use anyother tools other than that admin. uses for data uploading.
any real time implementation example using this option would be appreciated.
Regards,
Sreekanth. The Bulk Data Load utility is a utility similar to the Import Utility that On Demand Professional Services can use for import. The Bulk Data Load utility is accessed from a separate URL and once a company has allowed bulk data load then we would be able to use the Bulk Data Load Utility for importing their data.
The Bulk Data Load uses similar method to the Import Utility for importing data with the difference being that the number of records per import is higher and you can queue multiple import jobs. -
Hi
We have a requirement to load bulk data which would be a full dump (and not incremental) in CSV format almost every week from other applications.
This implies that I can drop my tables and rebuild the same using the CSV files that I have received.
I was just wondering is there is any real efficient tool or utility in ORacle (or outside) to import huge amount of data (apart from SQL Loader, Ext Tables and Data Pump)
Regards
KapilI don't know of any tool apart from loader/Ext-table and Datapump.
You may find tools which you can buy (and claim they are really good).
Honestly, if you want to load flat file data (gigabytes or kilobytes) into Oracle, there is nothing better than SQL*loader, "if you use all its capabilities" (External tables and loader are same thing, just the wrapper is different).

Advise about loading File into table in Oracle 8i
Hello there, i need help about something i need to do and i dont know if exist a way in Oracle 8i to do it.
My problem is:
I have a File that has records like:
<code>
data1a|data1b|data1c|data1d
data2a|data2b|data2c|data2d
data3a|data3b|data3c|data3d
dataNa|datanNb|dataNc|dataNd
</code>
The data in this file i need to put into a table with 4 columns like
<code>
create table DataFromFile(
columnA String,
coumnB String,
columnC String,
columnD String
</code>
Exist a way to do this like calling an Stored Procedure and give as input the FILE? or that a JOB can LOAD the file and insert data into the table?
I am not allowed to load the file with Java (in example) and parse it and then insert records... i need to do it by the DB Oracle 8i directly or by a java program that pass the file.
Thanx for any advise u can give me :Dthanx so much to both for answer in my question... im gonna study about yours tips
i actually use JEE in a Weblogic 10.2 server and i need to take a file and load its data into an oracle 8i table but im not allowed to make inserts for every record in the file :(
if u have more suggestions i will study too :) its good to learn other alternatives to solve this issue :)
thanx again -
Uploading bulk data in oracle spatial
Hi,
I need to upload a map data in (input is ESRI File geodatabase) in Oracle Spatial using ArcSDE.
I have Oracle spatial 10g, ArcGIS desktop 9.3. I am able to connect the oracle spatial data using arcsde and i am able to view those maps in arcmap. Also, i am able to upload small esri shape files in oracle spatial using esri arccatalog through arcsde.
I would like to know, the steps to be followed to upload a road network for North america (around 15gb) data as SDO. If there is any document available it will be more useful for me.
Or pls. share your experience in this.
Thanks,
Vadivelan. PYikes,
You won't require 150 gig of undo to load your data with ESRI tools. Noel might need to start a new thread to discuss that issue as his bulk loader may need some tuning. :p
All ESRI bulk loaders use a rather modest auto-commit. ArcCatalog is 1000 records and sdeimport is 2000 records by default. So after loading that many records the tool does a commit and thus avoids much undo at all. You can easily change this number to tune performance (higher for point data, lower for huge honkin' polygons) in the parameters.
At this point I would say the heck with all these torpedoes and give your load a try. You stated in the very first thread that you have loaded shapefiles successfully into Oracle Spatial so the assumption is you have your dbtune keywords setup and are all set with the issues of mapping ESRI coordinate systems into Oracle Spatial. So full steam ahead! Another idea would be to load a small subset of the data and make sure its correct to your needs before doing the whole thing. My opinion is I don't think you need to worry about the 15 gig size of the load. Yes it will take some time to do but I would bet whatever problems you run into are the same you would face with a 15 meg load.
Cheers and good luck,

Error when Bulk load hierarchy data
Hi,
While loading P6 Reporting databases following message error appears atthe step in charge of Bulk load hierarchy data into ODS.
<04.29.2011 14:03:59> load [INFO] (Message) - === Bulk load hierarchy data into ODS (ETL_LOADWBSHierarchy.ldr)

Checking corresponding log error file (see below) I see that effectively some records are rejected. Question is: How could I identify the source of the problem and fix it?
