Loading data one page at a time

I have 200 records to load in a java server page. I felt loading all these records will affect performance. So I wanted to load 15 records on each pass. However, on the second pass I obtained a nullpointerException(ResultSet -JDBC). Any suggestion on how to do it?
my other option is to dump them in a vector and retrieve them from there. I really want to use my database connection.
Thanks

Remember after the 15th record, I need to bring the record pointer on the 16th one so I can continue to read the next record in the Resulset. Closing the connection, and reissuing the same scheme will take you back to the first record.
Thanks

  • Loading data one year at a time

    Hi,
We have a situation where we need to load data one year at a time. I saw this done a few years ago but do not remember the details.
What I am thinking is that we could initially run a full load with the following parameters:
    $$ANALYSIS_START: 1/1/2006
    $$ANALYSIS_START_WID: 1/1/2006
    $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE: 1/1/2006
    $$ANALYSIS_END_WID: 1/1/2006
And this should give us one year. What I am not sure about is how to load each subsequent year???
    Regards

Is the issue a performance issue (ETLs running for too long)? The problem is that if you do Year by year..and you want to do a "incremental" load for each year, that would be even more of a load..since you are not allowing for BULK load (where the tables get truncated). Either you can truncate and do BULK or incrmental..which may be an even heavier load. I think you are assuming that this approach will somehow help you from a hardware limitation standpoint..do you know for sure that it will?
If you really do want to do it, as I mentioned, you can edit the INITIAL and END parameters. It would help if you clarify the Hardware limitation...I think there are better ways to handle this than to do what you are doing.

  • Loading Images One Page at a Time

Has anyone else encountered this problem whereby when images are loaded into Lightroom and I ask it to load with presets e.g. sharpen portraits, it does the job but only for those images that are on the current view i.e. I have to scroll down to the next page for it to process the proceeding images.
This is frustrating as I would obviously prefer to set lightroom to work on the whole set of images without having to keep scrolling down.
Any advice would be more than welcome.
    Best regards
    Neil

    Hello Dorin,
Once I have used the auto sync function to change, for example the white balance on a number of photographs, I move from the develop module into the library module and the three white dots showing against each image (which I believe indicate work is in progress) eventually disappear which I take to mean that processing of that particular image is complete.
if I walk away from the pc for 30 minutes or so and then return, the only images that the three little dots have been removed from, are those that are on the page view i.e. images on subsequent pages still have the three little dots on.
If, having auto sync'ed a batch of images, if I export without worrying about which images Lightroom has processed, will the export process force the updates?
Hope this makes some sort of sense and thanks for your help so far

  • Printing data sent to printer one page at a time

Before, when I printed on my Brother MFC-7840W printer, the data was sent to the printer instantaeously. But now, on my new MBA with Mavericks, when I print something, the printer queue says 'Printing - Sending data to printer" and sends the data one page at a time as it's getting printed. In other words, I can't close my laptop or disconnect from the printer until all the pages have been printed. Anyone knows how I can fix this?

    I have THE SAME issue
I bought a HP Laserjet Pro 400 in August 2013, and it worked great till I upgraded to Mavericks
Now, it prints 1 page, waits 20 seconds, then prints another
my 18 ppm printer is now like 1.8ppm
I hooked up a windows laptop to print the same document, and it screams through in top speed
After updating the hp printer firmware, apple drivers, and replacing the cartridges, the problem points to Mavericks

  • Can't print off my statements like before...have to print one page at a time instead of whole statement...what gives?  did up dates ...updates no good?

Can't print off my statements like I did before...have to print one page at a time now...what happened?   never had proble  before....I did an update that they said was available...did that cause the problem...Apple???

    Hi Charlott...
Open System Preferences > Print & Scan then select the Print tab.
    Click:  Open Print Queue...
Delete all documents in the queue
Restart your Mac, turn off the printer then turn it back on then try printing.
Not sure which update you are referring to. If you have Lion installed and updated to v10.7.3, I doubt that had any effect on printing.
BTW... when you post, please tell us which Mac OS X you have installed. Thanks!

  • How do I print one page at a time for a photobook .pse project?

I am trying to print a photobook project one page at a time as I am using double sided paper that I need to turn over.  One other project I did asked me if I wanted both sides and would I do the turning myself, but this one doesn't.  I also wanted no border on the prints and it came out with a border.  It is also frustrating to have to wait for it to load 75 pages and then it prints them back to front.  Is this PSE or the printer software?

Yes, you can print one page one at time as you want .
In print dialog, select other pages and click on remove button.(refer to screenshot).
For border click on more options and ensure check box is not selected ( refer to screenshot)

  • Can only print one page at a time

    Using Adobe Reader 9.4.2
    Operating system Arch Linux
    Printer Brother DCP-115C
When trying to print more than one page at a time in a PDF document,
Adobe Reader appears to create the print
the print job appears in my print queue
the printer says 'Receiving Data', but only momentarily
    the printer resumes 'normal' status
the printer does not print anything
It is as if there is very little data actually sent to the printer, even though the print job appears to be 254k in size
When I try to print one page at a time from a PDF document
Adobe Reader appears to create the print
the print job appears in my print queue
the printer says 'Receiving Data' for several seconds
    the printer prints the page
    no problem
It seems to me that Adobe is creating a print job (for multiple pages) that the printer either does not understand, or the printer believes that there is nothing to print.
I am able to print everything that I need to, but only one page at a time!
Does anyone else experience this problem? Do you know how to overcome this?

You can use printPages(1, 5), however I need to know how you print current page.

Since the os7 update on my iPad, my safari is not right, it only opens one page at a time, crashes when trying to open more, it has no back button. Help

Well, I rebuilt the entire workbook... that was a few months ago and so far, the problem hasn't resurfaced. It really wasn't fun to do, but whatever glitch there was in the file, I eliminated it.
I think I should mention that I am using Office v.X, NOT Office 2004. I got a new Intel iMac this week and yesterday when I opened up my files, it opened up the test drive (a JOKE of a program if you ask me) Anyway, some of the very minor issues I had with Office v.X were solved in the 2004 version. (When opening up large multi worksheet files without Excel being already opened, the tabs have white text) Anyway, I am still going to wait for the universal version to come out, but it seems that the newer versions may have fewer glitches (as is to be expected)
At any rate, best of luck to you!

  • How to read ibooks on landscape orientation one page at a time on iPhone 6 Plus

How can I force iPhone 6 Plus to show me only one page at the time on landscape orientation on iBooks. Right now it show me one page at the time if it is in portrait orientation but as soon as I turn the phone to landscape orientation it splits and shows me two pages ie page 1 and page 2.

I've looked everywhere I can think of to change the way that iBooks handles this and cannot find an option to change it. If you choose scrolling view then it will not show two columns but then you scroll to read rather than turning "pages."

  • Clearing history one page at a time

HELP! Unlike Explorer, I can't find a way to remove just one site (page) from history at a time. It just has a clear option that wipes everything out. Does anyone know if it is possible to clear one page at a time?

    Hi
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
To clear one or more entries at a time, open your Bookmarks Manager (Apple/Option/B keys pressed at the same time). On the left side of the Manager, click on History in the collections column. On the right, individual entries appear. Highlight the one you want to delete, then press the "delete" key. If you want multiple non-consecutive entries cleared, click on the specific ones while holding down the Apple key. Again, press the "delete" key to remove. Consecutive entries - click on the first item, then holding down the shift key, click on the last item. Everything in-between is highlighted. Again..."delete".
In OS X Tiger, the Spotlight panel in the Bookmarks Manager is a great aid. You would simply type in the name and any matching entries appear in the list. There are other feature incentives for upgrading to Tiger, including Safari 2, or perhaps even Leopard after its October debut.
I see your tag says 10.3.5. The latest version of OS X Panther is 10.3.9, which would also give you a more recent version of Safari - 1.3.2. To do so, go to Software Update in System Preferences and see what's available. If you upgrade to .9, do not use the computer during the installation. Afterwards, go to your Applications>Utility folder, open Disk Utility and "repair permissions" on your HD via the First AiD panel.
Lastly, how much RAM or memory do you have in your iBook? To check, go to the Apple Menu>About this Mac.

  • Question: Viewing one page at a time

How do I change from viewing a spread as two pages to just viewing one page at a time?

If the doc is set up with spreads then turning spreads off may change the structure of a document. Or, at least, it did back in CS4 when I turned spreads off to look at a document in single-page layout because I was working on a laptop. When I turned spreads back on, lots of features (like anchored objects or text wraps set up to align to spine or "outside edge" for example) were broken.
I never researched any further - I simply got in the habit of exporting PDFs and viewing those in single-page mode, instead of trying to affect layout in InDesign. Maybe this isn't broken anymore, or perhaps there's a non-destructive method of getting a single-page view. Or, more importantly, maybe the document you're looking at doesn't have any of these spread-dependent features. Or maybe you dont need it to keep the spreads features. Anyway, be aware that you might lose something if you untick that box.

  • Printing trouble one page at a time

I can only get one page at a time to print from a lengthy document.  I have Windows 7 Home Premium and my printer is  HP laserjet 1200 series.  thank you

What version of Reader? What happens if you ask it to only print two pages rather than the whole document? How much free space do you have on your hard drive? How much RAM?

  • Creating iphoto book and can't seem to view/ work on only one page at a time.

I am creating an iPhoto book and can't seem to view/work on only one page at a time.  The Navigator, that allows you to focus on a part of the page is actually 1 1/2 pages in size so 1 1/2 pages are in view when trying to work on one page.  What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this.  It is very distracting viewing half of a previous page when trying to create a new page and write a story to go with the related pictures.

My Navigator seems to be to large.  It covers 1 1/2 pages while in the training information it shows as the size of one page.  Is there a way to adjust the size of the Navigator?
You can hover the mouse over the left border of the Navigator - then the cursor will turn into a resize cursor and you can drag the border and make the Navigator panel smaller by enlarging the source list.
Or drag the lower right corner of the iPhoto window and shrink the appliaction window. This will only make the navigator smaller - the source list and information panel will stay the same size.

  • HOW TO SHOW ONE PAGE AT A TIME

Does anybody have a clue how to show one page at a time? I clicked Facing Pages in the Inspector and 2 columns of pages showed up. Now, I can't get it back to just one page showing up at a time. There must be a fix, but I don't' want to spend days on this. Many thanks.

    Frank,
At the bottom left of the page, click on the zoom percentage, then select One-up from the menu.
