Loading Gmail...

Recently, I attempted to open Gmail on Safari. It didn't load. I can sign in but instead of the loading message I get a whole bunch of boxes, symbols, and wingdings type characters. I thought maybe Gmail is having a problem or the maybe its the internet connection but my Gmail account works on the same internet connection on other non-mac pc's. All other websites work just fine. I can't figure this out. I've reset Safari but nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions?

It's impossible to know what you are doing wrong without watching what you did every step of the way when you set the account up. Nobody knows what you did to begin with so ...
Delete the account and start over again following the instructions here.

I can't load gmail properly in Firefox. I've cleared cache, cookies, etc. Happens on more than one computer.

I can not load gmail properly. It refuses to load and suggests loading Basic HTML for slow connections. I do not have a slow connection and have no problem loading gmail in Explorer. This is happening on both Firefox and Firefox Developer. The Firefox Developer problem just happened with the new upload this evening. Regular Firefox has been happening for a couple of months. It happens on both my work computer and my home computer. I tried everything suggested including the suggestion to delete cookies, cache, and the cookies.sqlite file.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

Will not load gmail or ebay pages in full and the tab to save bookmarks is gone I was going to delete it and re install but I dont want to loose my book marks

Ok Guys and gals, Here is a CLUE ! I have the same problem as listed above. Here is the clue, but I don't know how it figures into the scheme of things.
I have 2 users set up for my vista OS. The admin user, Fire fox 6.02 works fine. The second user is my name and its fire fox 6.02 is screwed up. I can load Gmail, yahoo, Boost mobile and others in the second user login. But if I log in as Administrator the Fire fox is fine. Fast, clean and stable.
So Some how my settings in the user #2 is or has corrupted and or changed ! I didnt do it, Firefox somehow changed the settings or became corrupt in my #2 user login account using Firefox 6.02.
Now I have tried to use a new user in fire fox and that did not fix firefox for user #2 on Vista.
I also disabled AD BLOCKER and that didnt help either.
SO my only observation is that the VISTA user #2 account utilizing FireFox 6.02 has changed some how and won't load web pages properly.
Vista User account #1 Fire fox works Fine...
Any idea? how to get user accounts FireFox 6.02 to work properly ?

SAFARI WILL NOT LOAD GMAIL

Safari will not load gmail unless I go to my router, power it off and power it on. Gmail will then load in a flash ... for about an hour and then progressively take longer until it will not load at all. I've taken it to a "specialist" for a clean-up and he found no problems. Can anyone help?

Do you get an "-5990 error" ?
I started having this problem after installation of Security update 2006-007 and as long as I know, the only way to fix it is:
1) Go to Library>Receipts and send 'SecUpd2006-007Ti.pkg' to the trash
2) Repair permissions with disk Utility
3) Re install Mac OS X Combo Update 10.4.8
4) Insert the original TIGER CD and go to install Mac OS X. Your computer will restart from the CD.
5) Go to Utilities>Disk utilities (on the Menu Bar) and repair permissions of Macintosh HD. After doing this, verify your HD and if necessary repair it.
6) restart again your computer from the Hard Disk
7) launch Safari and try to enter your gmail account.
Now all must run OK.

I am getting a 443 error on my ipod when trying to load gmail

So there is q 443 error when I try to login or load gmail on my 3rd gen ipod touch.
Other google sites work ( , maps etc), it only happens for gmail. I have rebooted, updated the OS, logged out and back in. Insight and help is appreciated. thanks.

I got it to work! I first had both my Apple Tv and MacBook Pro connected to my 5Ghz bznd and switched them both to my 2.4 Ghz band and it started working! Hope this helps!

Fire Fox WILL NOT LOAD Gmail, even after folling ALL the steps in HELP, but it loaded it yesterday and NOTHING has been changed!

I was using Fire Fox and I got the message "Fire Fox is not Responding". I tried waiting for it but after 20 minutes I closed it down. When I opened it up again and tried to use my Gmail bookmark but all I get is a message telling me that "The page isn't redirecting properly! Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies." This makes "No Sense at All" because I have used this bookmark Hundreds of times! I have tried to call up Google and try to go to Gmail from there but get Exactly the Same Message! I can go to Facebook using my bookmark but none of the games will load! I can get to Gmail using IE9, but when I try to go to Facebook it starts loading but NEVER Finishes! I just had to "restore my computer to factory Specs" a couple weeks ago but have used it without problem until 09/23/2012. Over the past 6 months I have Gotten the "Fire Fox is not Responding" Error HUNDREDS of times and cannot figure out why you would release a product that is NOT COMPATIBLE with ANYTHING on Earth! Please Fix Fire Fox before you lose ALL your Customers!

Firefox crashes when loading Gmail, and random other pages, and freezes often.

Firefox upgraded itself to 3.6.10 sometime last Friday, I believe, and every since I cannot get into gmail, and it freezes often. When I try to log into gmail it will crash immediately. Sometimes if I click "sign in" rather than hitting "enter" it will load, but will lock up or crash within minutes or seconds. It also will lock up if I have more than three or four tabs open, often when loading a video, and crashed while loading Nexis, which I use often for work to do research.
I have disabled add-ons, disabled extensions, run in safe mode, uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, downgraded, re-upgraded. Nothing has worked.

Problem does not seem to occur on a modern Win XP nebook with 1 gig RAM, but does on a relatively old laptop running Win 2000 with 98.5 MB ram.
Error message states that a script is running from a Firefox directory and asks to stop it. Crash occurs anyway!

Firefox 3.6.8 (and 4.0b) is crashing every time I load Gmail.

I navigate to Gmail in FF 3.6.8 or 4.0 and log in. The site begins to load but after about 3 seconds it crashes the browser. The crash appears to be tied to the calendar sidebar widget loading, but that may just be a coincidence of the timing.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 3.6.8. That didn't help.
I loaded Firefox in safe mode, disabled / uninstalled all the plug-ins and that didn't help.
So I installed 4.0 to see if that would fix it and it hasn't.
I am on a Dell XPS 1530 with Windows Vista.

If you loaded [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and ticked ''Disable all add-ons'' at startup, and it still has the same problem (if you didn't tick it, please try it), can you please try it in a new (temporary) Firefox profile and see if the issue is still present? Firefox 3.6.13 will not load gmail standard mode under Mac OS 10.6.5. Must go to basic HTML mode. Why?

No problem with gmail basic HTML mode. But standard gmail standard mode hangs with the progress bar just short of the end. No problem loading standard mode in Safari 5.0.3.

Firefox will not load gmail

Gmail will not load in Firefox browser. I can get it in IE. I have disabled add-ons, extensions, reset theme to default, renamed extensions.?? files, re-started in safe mode, and a few other options, but it still won't load. Get "The connection was interrupted
The connection to www.google.com was interrupted while the page was loading." However, I can go to www.google.com, but can't get to the login page or gmail link. I can get to other links there.
I have cleared the cache and cookies several times, ran in safe mode and removed themes....Did not work.

Safari not loading Gmail webmail page properly

Safari's not loading the JavaScript version of the Gmail webmail site properly (what Gmail calls the "standard" version, as opposed to the HTML version). When it loads, it shows the lefthand sidebar and top menu bar, but that's it. The rest of the page shows just the plain background.
I emptied the cache.
I updated all plug-ins.
I uninstalled all plug-ins.
I re-downloaded Safari from Apple's website and reinstalled it.
...and the issue persists.
Firefox loads the same Gmail "standard" webmail page fine, so I know it's not Gmail's fault.
Anyone have any insights or ideas? Anyone seen or solved this problem?

Mac mail sometimes does not load gmail messages

Several times a week my mail will not load some messages. Most times it works fine. My iphone always gets the mail. What's up with that?

When you guys say turn ON and OFF, are you referring to "show in IMAP" checkbox in the "Labels" tab in gmail? As superwhatever mentioned, Apple initially told me to make sure these are showing so that Mail.app picks them up. If I uncheck "All Mail" and "Important" wont that just mkae Mail.app skip downloading thosemessages that are in Important and All Mail? Instead shouldn't Mail.app's "Inbox" be set to also incorporate those message that are in Important and All Mail? This was so much of a headach for me back when the original problem surface that I just stopped using Mail.app and purchased Mailmate. Since then though, I'm missing certain key functions that Mail.app has and want to take another stab at resolving this.
On my iphone it shows that I have 18 unread messages for my company account, while in Mail.app it shows only 2 unread. The other 16 are found in "Important." how does this get fixed?

I can't access Gmail because it shiftes to Calendar Page when I'm loading Gmail
