Loading new pages into frames

or anyone else : )
This might seem like a redundant question but it would seem
there is some confusion surrounding it.
I say this because I can't seem to get an answer.
I have a site that uses a page with a frame and a swf control
( just a swf with buttons that load the new pages into the frame.
click on photos and it loads the photos.html page into that frame
and so on. )
I won't work in IE just displays errors. Is there a work
around?
Is there a better way to do this that would just entail
building a new nav control?
Any help would be great!!! please bear in mind it must work
in IE, FF & SAFARI

I suspect that is caused by the Web forum, not the iPhone.
The vast
majority of double posts come from Web users rather than
newsgroup
users.

Judging from his previous posts on the subject, I don't think
you
misinterpreted him at all. He has often posted a
comprehensive article
on the disadvantages of using Flash navigation and many
others
discourage it as well.
And you would be hard pressed to find anybody anywhere
encouraging
the use of frames in any but the most limited cases these
days.
I can see where you might want to use a frame here, but since
it seems
to be an all Flash site, why not use Flash's built-in
features to load
other movies. I think that would be loadMovie().

I wasn't able to get that far. In IE 7, I chose No when it
asked me to
upgrade the Flash plugin to version 10. I am left with a big
black
window containing the [Get Flash Player] icon and

at the bottom.
There are a large number of people who surf the Web from
their office -
or office-supplied computers. They often do not have the
access to
install software.
Since this appears to be a 100% Flash site, you are not
really
restricting use to the mentioned browsers, but restricting
use to
browsers with Flash Player 10 capability.
And they must scroll to the right if their browser viewport
is less
than 1024.

Were you able to see Alan's first reply? He may have guessed
what the
problem is.
If that doesn't do it, I suspect you might have better luck
in one
of the Flash forums. There may be more people in there
accustomed to
creating Flash-only sites.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance, but FWIW, one or more
of the
"pages" seems to link to a broken "Untitled_Document.flv"
file.

Firefox freezes when I load new pages into new tabs. This started a few weeks ago after I downloaded the latest update to firefox, currently running 7.0.1

After installing the latest update to Firefox a couple of weeks ago, loading new pages into new tabs takes a very very long time IF the page loads at all. I usually have to close the original tab to get the new tabs to load their pages. Sometimes I have to close all Firefox windows and start over to get the page I want to load.
This only started after downloading and installing this new update. I had no problem with new pages/tabs with previous versions.
I have rebooted, run full scans with Spyware Doctor, Malwarebytes and McAfee without solving the problem.

Loading another page into frameset

Hi,
I have divided my BSP page into 3 frames. On click of a button I want to load another page into one of the frame. Could you please let me know how to do it.

Hi Friend,
I have designed in a way similar to yours.
In one frame, I have tree in which all its leaves have a link.
Clicking a link on one frame will display the corresponding page on the other frame.
All the pages displaying in the frame were designed separately.
tree.do refers to the name of the controller in which this content get displayed in the left and default.do refers to the name of the controller whose content get displayed in the right in default.
Clicking the link on the left specified in the tree will replace the default.do content with a table named deptable.do.
In the below code specified zpgms1 refers to the application name and pagedivider.do refers to the name of the controller in which the page was divided into frames.
Tree.do page holds the codings in which tree was designed and the link attribute holds default.do page initially and clicking the link would activate the deptable page which is assigned to a variable.
In the below code I'm replacing the content of default.do by concatenating the default.do code with deptable.do

With firefox, how do I bookmark a new page into folder contained in From Internet Explorer?

i imported IE favorites into firefox bookmarks. my IE favorites contained many folders with different categoties of information......eg., folders for car repair, investments,etc. now that i am using firefox, how do i
bookmark a new page into one of the existing IE favorite folders? I have tried every option I could think of using the options shown when i click bookmark this page.......i am getting as far as FROM INTERNET EXPLORER, but i can't seem to find a way to reach one of the sub-folders within the FROM INTERNET EXPLORER folder? also, nothing is happening when i click on the star symbol to the right of the address space?

Before your response was received, I continued to fiddle with the popup box that appears when you click the "bookmark this page". in my fiddling, i noticed that at least once, a litlle small solid triangle appeared just before From IE....I clicked on that little triangle and voila, there were all my sub-folders under the main IE folder!!! Nowhere in all the old posted Firefox support had I seen I clear illustration of doing this......probably I missed it or I'm just a dumbie?
Meanwhile, if anyone is having all kinds of strange problems with computer, and no browsers including IE, with the exception of Firefox, are working properly, if you have Norton Security on your computer and it al;so is not working properly, UNINSTALL NORTON!!!!!!!!!!! That was my situation, to the extent HP free support was going to help me wipe the drive and try to put the computer back "as new", but using a different security program!!!!!

How do I save documents from the new Pages into a Word Document?

Thank you so much - so simple! I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options. I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it. Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.

Ive just learned that i can use loadjava to load jsp pages into the database.

Ive just learned that i can use loadjava to load jsp pages into the database. How is that possible. How can someone go to my lets say, index.jsp page and actually see it if its inside the database? What authenticates it? Where would you set the parameters to tell http(apache) to look inside the db for the pages?
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. If I put the file on the database, does it have to be in a particular location? I've put it on the database server, launched sql*plus (as APPS) and ran the following:

PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.Then when I try to run a process that uses this I get this:
ORA-29540: class ZebraGetPrinterFromXML does not exist

Why can't I load a page by hitting enter after I type it into the location bar? I have to click on the green arrow to load new pages.

When I type a URL into the location bar, I have to click on the green arrow at the right end of the location bar for the new page to load. In previous versions of Firefox you just hit enter to load the new page.

This didn't help my problem. When I restart Firefox in Safe Mode, the problem goes away but none of the other troubleshooting tips help. I noticed today that when I start Firefox in normal mode, I get this error: "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined." It's a Javascript error, and I also noticed that when I go to the Gmail page in normal mode the cursor isn't automatically placed in the username field like usual. When I start Firefox in safe mode it does this, however.

Video end action - load new page

How can I create/add an end action to load a new page once an HTML5 video has played? Basically trying to have a menu, play videos full screen and have browser return to home page/main menu at the end of the video. Need to do this in a browser for a kiosk, not use DVD player software so that I can eliminate on-screen controls.

The FLVPlayback class comes with a "complete" event that fires off once the video ends.
Give your FLVPlayback an instance name and simply apply this code in a frame script on the same frame (30, 60, etc). For example if you gave it the instance name myFLVPlayback, then:

If the user pauses the video, do note that this event won't fire. The video must play through to completion for this event to fire.
Also note some not-so-perfectly formed videos can cause the FLVPlayback component to fail to detect the end of the video or fire off this event. This has happened a lot less lately but it has been known to happen. Give it a try!

Firefox sometimes freezes when loading new pages

I have had an issue for several months now & any help with it would be gratefully appreciated.
Quite often, when loading a new page, Firefox will hang for up to 30 seconds; the loading circle in the left hand corner of the tab will freeze & I will be locked out of the browser. That website's usually then fine for the rest of the session, but if I close and reopen Firefox the same thing will happen again.
I have tried other browsers such a IE, and the same thing also happens there. My laptop is becoming quite claggy in general, but I'm hoping I can at least find a solution to this!

Do you get a dialog saying a script is running slowly with Stop/Continue buttons, or does the problem just clear up without any messages?
Two other thoughts:
(1) To diagnose a possible Flash issue, you can switch the Shockwave Flash plugin to "Ask to Activate." The page should load the non-Flash components first. If it's just as slow, then we can rule out Flash as a potential culprit, but if it's much faster, that would be useful to know.
You can make the change on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Then use the drop-down list for Shockwave Flash to select "Ask to Activate."
Sites that use Flash will generate a notification icon on the address bar, and either a link will appear in the black rectangle where you normally get videos loading automatically, or an infobar will slide down between the toolbar area and the page.
(2) About 8 months ago, a user with an enormous font collection discovered that when visiting pages that use downloadable fonts for the first time during a session, Firefox would hang for 3 minutes. ([https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/957111 Firefox hangs on Websites (example: g2play.net)]) I don't know whether this is still a problem, but if you have tons of fonts, as a diagnostic, you could temporarily disable downloadable fonts.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''gfx''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled''' preference to switch its value from true to false.
I say temporary because many sites now use fancy fonts to display little icons instead of using images. With downloadable fonts disabled, these icons turn into tall rectangles with two rows of two characters (in other words, useless).

How to load jsp page in Frame?

Is there any way to load/open jsp page in Frame When an event occured?

I think we need more info than that.
Why do u want to open JSP in a Frame? do u want to open it with all the JSP code still there (for editing), or do u just want to display the HTML which is created after executing the JSP.
You will need Tomcat or JRun or another servlet/JSP engine to execute a JSP. do u have it installed? and the fact that u have win2000 and sql server 2000 doesnt really shed any light on your problem and what u r trying to acheive.
Post more info and hopefully we'll be able to help u better.

To easily bulk load files in UCM, you can use the BatchLoader utility described in chapter 7 (in release 10g or chapter 3 in release 11g) of the 'Managing System Settings and Processes' admin guide.
We used it on our project to load some 60000 documents in UCM with associated metadata in just over 1 hour. Worked fine.

stand-alone HTML page INTO a stand-alone HTML page. You have
to make the
incoming HTML into a fragment so that the final assembled
page still
validates.

Crashes when inserting new pages into Templates from CS6

InDesign CS6 is crashing frequently when page numbers or blank pages are inserted into an InDesign Template file, The problem persists for many different users on several platforms and operating systems.

I have continued to have the same problems since I originally posted, including after the 7.0.2 update, though I have not tested EVERY scenario I did the first time after updating. Has anyone else seen improvement after the update? (I got the 7.0.2 update download via the built-in Adobe updater, not from the website, so I'm not sure where to locate it there).
I am sorry to hear others having similar or the same issue, but hopefully it is helpful to have a thread going where all those experiencing this can add to the list until it is recognized as a bug. And fixed! Though it does not resolve the actual problem, two work-arounds we are using to function in the meantime are to (1) always make a really long document to start with, with all the pages we think we'll need and more and (2) have a new, blank InDesign document with several pages open and drag pages from the blank document into your working document. This is a way to "add" blank pages when they are needed without inserting new pages in any of the traditional ways (which cause crashes). I also always send the crash report in to Adobe and encourage others to do the same.

How exactly to load new fonts into Gimp???

Hi,
I've tried everything I can find in teh forums and the wiki to load fonts into Gimp 2.3. They just will not appear in the fonts dialog. It's driving me nuts.
Can someone please spell out exactly how to do this?
I've loaded the fonts into /root/.fonts - no go. I've loaded them into gimp's font dir - no go. I've run fontcache - no go.
I'm at my wits end.

You should put the fonts in your user's ~/.fonts (I hope that you don't run Gimp as root?). Then just run fc-cache -v to update the font cache and restart Gimp.
If you haven't modified /etc/fonts/fonts.conf, the entry <dir>~/.fonts</dir> should be listed there and thus the users ~/.fonts directory will be searched for fonts.

Opera stalls loading new pages

I have been having a very unusual problem for the past few days.
In Opera, when I load up pages that I haven't visited before, it apparently loads some of it but often not enough to ever display it. Sometimes it will after a forced reload, but sometimes it just hangs at the same spot everytime.
I can load those very same pages without any problem or lag in Chromium. Also, my regular pages load and re-load just fine as well.
I haven't fiddled with any settings in Opera of late, so don't know where it is coming from.
Anyone experienced something similar or have pointers to how I can resolve it?

I haven't been using Opera in a little while. Why not try opening opera from a terminal and reading the output to see if there are any error messages?
