Loading of JSP files run as rwservlet.

When I look at the trace file of the .jsp report run as rwservlet, I noticed that a major percent of time is spent in the generation and creation of JSP parser and XML definitions.
How can I pre-compile and load the class files rather than compiling and loading every time the report is accessed? Is there a setting in the config file or a command line option?

Murali,
You are right, a precomplie option would be available in next release
Thanks

  • Unable to load the '.jsp' file

    Hi all,
              We use Weblogic 8.1 sp3 and are devloping a struts based application.
              I have deployed my 'ear' file (containing a '.war' and a '.jar' file). We use struts. Our '.war' file, contains the pre-compiled 'jsp' classes (we have changed our web.xml to indicate that we are using pre-compiled jsps. I can show my web.xml file if you need).
              When I click on my 'submit' button, I see that my action class has been invoked and it's spitting out messages to the stdout. Everything looks fine. But, when it is trying to load the '.jsp', I get the following error.

  • Are  JSP files run on apache 1.3.12 web server....?

    Hi,
    I am having Apache Jserv 1.3.12 running on my Server.Iam using JDK1.3 version,Do i need to have tomcat on my client Pc to run my JSP files?
    Any help will be appreciated...
    Regards
    Siva

    you must have servlet container(Tomcat or JRun) to run servlets and JSP's, which acts as add on to Apache server.
    Please go through the documentation of tomcat, or follow books in JSP
    in many of them they explain in detail.
    All the best!

  • Problem in loading few jsp files

    Hi,
    I am facing problem in loading very few jsp pages. The situation is something like this.
    Server: WebSphere
    I have a top frame and bottom frame.
    When the user keep on clicking the same link in the top frame, not giving time to get loaded in bottom frame,
    on the server the error "Servlet Error: Connection reset by peer: socket write error: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: socket write error" was coming.
    My bother is not on the server-side. but on the client side.
    On the client side, the html of two requests are getting overlapped and displaying(see at the end for sample output of html). In this HTML, if you observe, you can find the line "Error 500: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
    ". Above to this is the half-content of the previous request and bellow is the actual page need to be loaded. And the output was a merge of actual page with the code of the previous request.
    Is it the problem of Websphere or coding?
    Can you help me resolving this problem?
    thanks
    naveen
    Output HTML (for example):
         Contract Name:</td>
         <td class="Label" ><input type="text" id="contractName"
    size="25" maxlength = "100"></td>
         <td class="Label" >Owner:</td>
         <td class="Label" colspan="2"><select id="owner" class="Label"
    size="1" style="WIDTH:200px">
         <option value="_______________">_____________</option>
         </select></td>
                   </td>
    Error 500: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
    <html>
    <head>
    <title> welcome </title>
    <link rel="STYLESHEET" type="text/css" href="Scripts/SSheet.css">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    <!-- This .js script files contains all components, which is used -->
    .... and so on
    </html>

    Hi
    I have Observed that "java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer" is caused due to manual malfunction performed by the user in the browser like sending multiple request to the server stopping, moving forward, moving backward when a request is placed to the server and waiting for it to get it done.
    More clearly if the User Selected an option from the browser and send a request to the server and followed by sending another request immediately to the server and by this time Server is processed the first request and is started writing the result to the JSP/Browser (Same client), by this time the 2nd reqest from the same Browser/Client is interrupted the first one and ohhhhhhh..... problem , you got an error "java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer".
    If any one could figure out more Please update me too appreciate !

  • Accessing parent window form elements from a JSP file

    Actually I have a JSP page . It calls a popup function to load another JSP file on the event Onclick of a label. In the JSP file loaded on the popup window, I need to access the form elements of the parent.
    Eg: the Parent has a Textarea named "ta_1" in the form "appl_1".
    Now i cannot access this element in the child JSP page using,
    window.opener.document.ta_1.appl_1.value;
    The window.opener is not defined for this HTML page cos the HTML page was generated as an output of the JSP file.
    Please give a JSP code snippet which accesses the parent form element..

  • Display jsp files with .html extension

    my problem is very straight forward i want all my jsp pages to be shown with .html extension. like if i have a page test.jsp and I access it through a hyperlink Test then in the browser's address bar i want it test.html .. any ideas ..

    That's is one odd request. The source for the page still shows that they're loading a .jsp file. To do what you want, you'd have to write javascript for every such link that handled that type of request.
    However, if you actually want all files with .html extensions to be processed like jsps you can:
    1. you can remap the JSP servlet in your web.xml file to another extension (though i'm not sure if thats part of the spec)
    2. you can also use the <jsp-property-group> element in web.xml to specify other files as JSPs. (thats definitely in the spec)

    When the first time its successful, it follows that compilsJSP() with
    For JSP Compilation : JDKLocation-/usr/java/, fork_java_c=no,enable_debug=yes
    Is there a fix for this problem?? Please help
    Thanks

    I did all of the 3 things that you told me in the context.properties file.
    The same behavior is still happening....here is the sequence
    1) start the server from scratch
    2) load the jsp file (ok)
    3) change the jsp file with emacs
    4) reload the jsp file (ok, see the changes)
    5) change ths jsp file with emacs again
    6) reload the jsp file (HANGS, browser is just waiting for reply)

  • Jsp-file="/WEB-INF/index.jsp" cannot load

              Hi,
              I am defining a servlet in the web.xml file using the following syntax.
              <servlet>
              <servlet-name>TestServlet</servlet-name>
              <jsp-file>/WEB-INF/index.jsp</jsp-file>
              </servlet>
              Then when I tried to access this servlet, I get a 404 not found error. The weblogic.log
              file complains with the following message:
              java.io.FileNotFoundException: no resource '/WEB-INF/index.jsp' in servlet context
              root '/home/dev/web/apps/MyApp'
              at weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspStub.compilePage(JspStub.java:293)

              at weblogic.kernel.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:129)
              My jsp file in located in /home/dev/web/apps/MyApp/WEB-INF/index.jsp, I know weblogic
              doesn't support jsp under WEB-INF, however, according to Sun's Servlet specification,
              anything under web-inf should be accessible to getResource and getResourceAsStream
              method, and it looks like that's what weblogic implementation is using (from the
              error message). So I am not sure whether this is weblogic issue or I am doing
              something wrong. By the way, the above config in web.xml is supported in Tomcat.

              What version of WebLogic will incorporate Servlet spec 2.4 and allow jsp under
              web-inf?

  • Loading Java Class File in JSP page

    I'm trying to load a java class file from a jsp page.
    (e.g. MyFile.java <-- Source "MyFile.class<--Class file of MyFile.java")
    jsp page
    <%@ include file = "MyFile.class" %>
    <HTML> // HTML Tags are here
    MyFile.java
    A normal java source file that has "public static void main" in it.
    My jsp page can display it's contents, 'except' for showing e.g. "1235%%215648%%public%%$$@##" through out the page...
    My guess is that it can't display my java class file..
    Can anyone please help me solve this problem of mine ?
    Thanks in advance : )

    After I execute...
    An error occurred at line: 18 in the jsp file: /jsp/ActivityGames.jsp

  • Firefox will not load my swf file. Runs perfectly in all other browsers. Help!

    I've developed a website (www.fit-mamas.com.au) whereby you click on the black & white image and get a pop-up window running a video. The video is an .flv file running via a .swf file loaded from an html file. The .swf file was produced using Flash CS3. The video loads perfectly in all browsers except for Firefox which just displays a blank screen with video controls. I've been researching online for hours, as this problem is a common one, but nobody else's solutions are working for me. Any help would be appreciated. My code is as follows:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0"
    id="fit-mamas" width="640" height="400">
    <param name="movie" value="fit-mamas.swf">
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF">
    <param name="quality" value="high">
    <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="samedomain">
    <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    width="640" height="400"
    src="fit-mamas.swf" name="fit-mamas"
    bgcolor="#FFFFFF" quality="high"
    swLiveConnect="true" allowScriptAccess="samedomain"
    ></embed>
    </object>

    The video works for me on Linux. The server seems to be slow and playing stops all the time.
    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
