Loads very slow on one specific web site

It takes a very long time to load the first page and all subsequent pages. When I use the Netscape or IE browsers they have no problem and are very quick.

Hi David.
Sounds like it's not a problem on the site's side. Try running Firefox in safe mode to see if that fixes the issue. If it does, it's possible that some extension may be causing some problem with the site. Try disabling them one at a time to find the problematic one. Once you find it, disable it and contact its author for support.
If safe mode doesn't solve the issue, please say so and we'll see what we can do.

  • Mavericks very slow to link to web sites

I My MacBook Pro is very slow to load websites but this is not the case on my iPad and iPhone.. I am running OS X 10.9.4.
i Saw answers to this problem in earlier forums but the latest was July 2013 and are now out of date as the suggestions given for resetting Safari are different and do not exist .
    any help would be welcome.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Any change?
If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Log out and log back in. Any change?
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If Parental Controls is active for any user, please turn it off and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Again, if only Safari is involved, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Safari, if it's checked. Any change?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • This browser has very slow connectivty to any web site.

Whatever web sit I want to look at this browser is very slow to connect. I have never had this type of issue with explorer.

    Hi,
When you initally posted your question, it appears that addons.mozilla.org was undergoing maintenance. I can now successfully download addons from addons.mozilla.org with no problem. You can see the status report at http://status.mozilla.org/en-US/detail/78/ describing the downtime.

  • Mac Book-Need assistance.  I can not access one specific internet site

I'm unable to access one specific web site without clearin all history each time I access.   I dont have this problem accessing any other website.   My system is too old for Apple support.   Has anyone experienced this before?  Thank you

Hi shldr2thewheel.  the option you provided says the site is up.  I still receive the message that Safari can reach the server.   I have checked w/th site owner and the isp and they say to contact the manufacturer.  I'm stumped.  do you have another suggestion?   Thank you

  • There is a specific web site that is very so loading. what can i do

There is a specific web site that is extremely  slow loading and once it loads it is very slow logging in etc. Not having problems with other sites

Could be the site's servers are weak or perhaps overloaded at certain times.
Sometimes you may check around online and use information from places
such as this web site to help see if the other ones are working correctly...
    http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/
Not sure how useful it is, but last week when craigslist was down, it was
helpful to see what areas and which servers were down; since all of them
did not go down at once. In that instance a Denial of Service attack may
have been to blame. The cause of a site issue may vary.
If the web site has a feedback or webmaster link, you may choose to tell them
when their site is sub-par, in case they are not aware of problems. There are
network tools to see and test web site and internet functions in your Mac's
utilities folder, as part of the system in the computer.
Hopefully their site issues are not too big an inconvenience.
    Good luck & happy computing!

I use iSquint to compress the video. Have a look at this site to see my dv project that was 286mb original size, compressed down to 4.8mb. http://web.mac.com/lfairlie/iWeb/Site%204/Welcome.html
You can play with the size it compresses to quality wise as well.

  • Please help: Course loads very slow and takes almost 100% cpu and 1.08 GB memory

The total page number is 129. We used Captivate 5.5. We have several Webpage widgets and a few videos. I tried to take out the web widgets and the videos, however, the course still loads very slow.
I would really appreciate if someone can give somve suggestion.
    Thank you very much.

Captain Ibuprofen, we actually continued having the slowness problem in the past week. Then one of our developers found out the reason: as same as yours, caused by the page number widget. I wish we would have seen your response earlier. But yeah, so now we took out the page number widget and everything goes normal.
Also thanks for the tips on using the cpInfoCurrentSlide variable when adding the slide number. Thanks Andy.

  • Firefox can't access a specific web site

This problem is driving me crazy.
At home and office I can't access a specific web site.
I have tried everything I was able to: cleared cache, deleted cookies, deleted firefox prefs, flushed DNS, tried to log with IP instead of domain, created a new user account in Mac OS, repaired permissions, but nothing happens!
The strange thing is I can access the web site trough a proxy. And I don't have a firewall or similar, my Mac is conected directly to the web. And the problem is the same in any browser I use, like Safari or Firefox.
Anyone has any idea about what is causing my problem?
Just in case, the site is demonoid.com and it's running ok in other computers I tested.

No proxies, AV, firewalls or anything. The internet cable is pluged into this Mac.
The problem began 2 weeks ago. When I loaded the page the browser shows status done at the bottom of the window, and at the address bar I see the icon of the web site nd the address but nothing is shown. The source code for that page also is in blank.
I am now using firefox 3 and still have the problem. Safari is up to date with no enhancers. I uninstall all extensions from Firefox also.
    Hard to believe, hum?

  • Can't connect to specific Web site

I was able to access all Web sites using PCs attached to a WRT54GS (wired and wireless). Then, when nothing seemingly changed in my setup, I could no longer access a specific site with either wired or wireless. It is a site I access frequently (an ecommerce site that I maintain). Once the problem was seen on one PC, it is seen on all PCs using the router. It is a domain that I have registered, but I am not hosting it myself. Others have no problem accessing this web site.
I was able to reset the WRT54GS a couple of times (not just power cycling) to get rid of this problem, but eventually, the problem was no longer corrected by a reset. I also upgraded to the latest firmware, and it did not help. I tried removing the router and connecting a PC directly to my cable modem. I could access the site just fine this way.
I tried a different router (BEFSR41), and everything worked fine for a few days. Then the same problem started happening again. Resetting the BEFSR41 also stopped fixing the problem after a couple of tries. Again, hooking an individual PC directly to the cable modem worked fine.
I then tried a second WRT54GS router. For several days, there were no problems. But eventually, the site was not accessible again. I have found no other sites that I could not access. I have borrowed a non-Linksys wireless router for over a month now, and the problem has not been seen.
My question is why do three different Linksys routers (2 WRT54GS and 1 BEFSR41) no longer allow me to connect to a specific Web site? Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

I had the same problem, and I finally solved it through DNS refreshing.
After MTU manipulation left me nowhere, I tried ye olde:
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /renew
...with no success.  I then looked over the ipconfig options, and decided to try:
    ipconfig /registerdns
    ...which finally worked!
So much for twelve hours of my life.

  • Parental controls are not blocking specific web sites

Using 10.6.1 I am unable to block specific web sites through the parental controls. The site in particular I was trying to block ended in .tv/ Is there a problem in snow leopard or is this type of site not able to be blocked?

There are a variety of Adobe services that need to remain enabled in order for Photoshop to work.
I would log in to the administrator account and make sure anything with Adobe is set to "allow."
Then, log in to the restricted account and test. If Photoshop works as expected, you can turn off one item at a time until you find the one that "breaks" Photoshop's functionality.

  • Why is my firefox not opening specific web sites like youtube, facebook and hotmail? Please help me or ill will have to start using another browser....

I can not open specific web sites like youtube, facebook and hotmail in my firefox! This time is youtube, last time was hotmail and now also facebook...

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br />

Nope. You can always reverse that if you choose.

  • ITunes loads very slow

With over 48000 songs, itunes loads very slow. Thinking it my be my pc I loaded it onto a new pc and get the same results. Is there anything I can do to getit to load under 5 seconds at least?

    Dear Apple,
I need to complain about the same problem. I have 1/10th the songs in i-Tunes (~4800) and I cringe every time I want to start the program. The same delay happens anytime I load or switch a CD to import a song.
Google can load a billion links in a blink; can't you load a millionth of this info in the same amount of time? Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
    Frustrated,
    -Mike
