LoadVars problem in FMS

I am running a very simple code, using
loadVars inside FMS, to load an ASP
script.
======================================
var lvData = new loadVars();
var lvR = new loadVars();
lvR.onLoad = function(BS) {
if(BS) trace("do something");
lvData.file = "test-2.swf"
lvData.sendAndLoad("
http://localhost/some.asp",
lvR);
=======================================
The script works fine, except within
some.asp, the value of
Request.Form("file") is "testB2Fswf".
In other words, "-" is replace by B,
and "." is replaced by F.
Is there a way around this problem?

Hello :)
the datas in FMS are in UTF8... in your ASP script do you use
a UTF8
encoding ?
The name of a file must be easy with a-z 0-9 . caracters only
if you
want a good result.
EKA+ :)

  • LoadVars problem with characters

    hello everyone, i am a Actionscript novice and I have a small
    problem.
    i am using the LoadVars class and the toString method to
    retrieve some result from the web. The result obtained is
    represented by the following string (which is not the full string,
    as it'll be much longer to write) :
    sendRPCDone%28frameElement%2C%20%22chelsea%22%2C%20new%20Array%28%22chelsea%22%2C%20%22che lsea%20fc%22%2C%20%22
    The problem is: how do I convert these characters in Unicode
    mode, such as %28, into ' ( ' ? Is there any special function?
    thanks

  • HELP!!! Problem with FMS on port 80 is shutting down Apache on my server!

    Hello all,
    I own FMIS 3.5. I had it installed on a VPS earlier this year and it worked fine. I later uninstalled it and moved to a NEW VPS with the same hosting comoany (Lunar Pages). Again, it worked fine.
    NOW...
    They are telling me that because FMIS is listening on port 80 (when I installed FMIS, I left the port settings as recommended, 1935,80 and 1111 for the admin) that it is shutting down Apache. For what it's worth, I did not install Apache when I installed FMIs on my NEW VPS because I figured I didn't need it as I was installing to a server.
    The conflicting application is fmsedge which is running on port 80. Can ANYONE recommend an alternate port for fmsedge?
    I am completely at a standstill with this, all my sites are down. The host tells me that Apache needs to run on port 80.
    I am developing several websites that will use FMIS for RTMP streaming.
    The worst part is that this worked before and suddenly is causing a problem
    PLEASE help if you can. I am stuck.
    Thank you in advance for your help!!!
    Sincerely,
    wordman

    Graeme,
    Thank you as usual!
    FMS is set up on 1935 and 80, but I do have a second IP and will try that approach.
    Will let you know how it goes!
    Thank you!!!
    Sincerely,
    wordman

    Adding to my previous post this is the XML output i get when i try to access the fms admin console from local ip address i.e http://192.168.10.19:1111/fms_adminConsole.htm

  • Live stream problem with FMS 4.5 + FMLE

    Hi,
    I've got a live stream (and DVR) setup using FMS 4.5 and FMLE.
    The hardware for the FMS server we use is 2x Xeon E5645 2.4GHz, 32GB RAM, OCZ RevoDrive R3 X2 PCI-e SSD. Installed OS is CentOS 5.8.
    We have 6 workstation PCs, each equiped with 4 BlackMagic Intensity PRO capture cards and FMLE 3.2. Using these PCs we stream Live video to FMS server.
    Video stream is grabbed from HDMI cable, to BlackMagic Cards, which are encoding by FMLE using H.264 format, 700kbps bitrate per stream.
    Video stream is published to server through RTMP stream, which is later saved for DVR in RAW format. We only keep 3 days of recording and delete the old ones.
    Server and Encoder PCs are in the same network, connected by gigabit managed switch.
    The problem I'm having is that after 10-15 hours FMLE starts to drop frames, because video buffer is increased. What I observed is that this happens immediately when Server CPU load increases above 60%.
    Based on the above observation I decreased the number of channels streamed by the server to 10, which reduced CPU load. But the problem still persists.
    Whenever I restart FMS and delete all DVR data, the CPU load (when streaming 10 live channels) is only 1%, but after 2 days CPU load increases to 50-60%.
    Whenever I restart FMS and don't delete DVR data, the CPU load is 5-10%, and after 2 days it still increases to 60-70%.
    Another thing I observed is that there is only single fmscore process running, but it has lots of threads which are switched on and off in split seconds. These threads are launched on different CPU cores, but at any given point in time the distribution of the load isn't equal among CPU cores. This leads certain CPU cores being loaded by more than 60% and frame drops start to occur.
    For the moment there are just 10 users watching this service, so I don't think this load accounts for the problem.
    Has anybody had similar problem, or know how can I optimize or finetune the system to run without problem? I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Another thing I noted through last couple of days:
    When I was restarting FMS the CPU load was reduced to 30%, but after 1 week past when I restart it CPU load only goes down to 75%. Everything is the same, nothing has been changed and there is no disk IO issues involved.
    P.S. I've modified application.xml using these values:
    <Scope>vhost</Scope>
    <Distribute numprocs="5">app</Distribute>
    <LifeTime>
    <RollOver></RollOver>
    <MaxCores></MaxCores>
    </LifeTime>

    Hi
    How many channels are you publishing?
    If there are too many channels, it is recommended to have one  FMSCore process start for each of them. To do so, you will have to change the scope to app.
    ---snippet---
    <Application>
    <Process>
        <Scope>app</Scope>
       <Distribute numprocs="3">inst</Distribute>
    </Process>
    </Application>
    Also, to delete older content, you will have to enable disk management. Refer http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSeb6b7485f9649bf23d103e5512e08f3a33 8-8000.html#WSec225f632fa00875-23954b6f1300b641158-8000 for more info.

    There is no any configuration in flash player. Pretty much
    flash versions and
    that's about it.
    Could be that you place the SWF in html using
    img/folder/name.swf ?
    Any URL to see it ?

  • Dual Buffering problem at FMS 3.5

    I am trying to configure Flash Media Server to support dual Buffer Strategy. I have read lot of posts here, but no answers.
    Audio 80Kb live broadcast.
    I want to quick start play after 2 seconds and then expand buffer to 10seconds.
    Dual Buffering Strategy.
    When i test wowza 2.0 it works like a charme.
    But if i test the same player code with FMS 3.5 it quick start play but instead of expand buffer it empty 10s buffer...
    What is wrong? Why can i play at wowza and not with FMS3.5?
    WOWZA 2.0:
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 11.215
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 11.215
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 11.169
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    FMS 3.5:
    FMS 3.5
    BUFFER LENGTH: 9.253
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 7.212
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 5.257
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 3.217
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    TIMER EVENT
    BUFFER LENGTH: 1.203
    BUFFER TIME: 9.9
    Why this behaviour?
    I Want to use FMS3.5 but with this issue i will have to change to WOWZA if not solved

    Hello,
    This was exactly my problem Henry. With Wowza didn't have to change nothing and the behavior was what i was expecting. The live broadcast starts imediatly and the buffer is something like 8s-10s. With FMS i simple couldn't do it, just with DVR.
    Jay : "Let's look at it from the other direction... why are you trying to create delay on the live stream?"
    I now the concern jay mentioned about the low latency aspect  but sometimes low latency is not an issue, live broadcast without any kind of cuts , yes that's an issue that is important for me. Ok BUFFER of 30s = LATENCY of 30s but if someone unplugs the network cable i want that the live broadcast should be able to play for 30s, this means that the application can be more stable with several bandwidth fluctuations.
    The main question is, how to avoid cuts on the live audio stream and have a low latency ?
    What's the point of this article ? Does this article http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/fms_dual_buffering.html really solve this issue ? For me it didn't, I'm streaming an AAC feed with FMLE and set initial buffer 2s; extended buffer 15s and the buffer length was always
    1.7
    1.8
    2.1
    1.9
    It never raised to 15s
    For me to have a extended buffer of 15s it means that we have to make some kind of latency of 15s in the live broadcast, and the "low latency" settings that come by default with FMS simple make this scenario...not possible.
    The solution
    Ok now I've implemented the DVR (checked the box on FMLE for DVR Recording...etc...etc...and had to change the code on the player to play the DVR stream ) Now it starts to play on the fly and with a buffer of 20s ..... But why did i had to implement this feature ? What are the negative impacts on the FMS Server ? Doesn't this solution is specific for seeking and going back on the audio features ? I don't know..in fact it solved my problem but will i have performance issues on the FMS server ? Will it store the broadcast indefinitely ?? should I be worried ?
    It feels that just for a solution as simple as an extended  buffer of 15s with an instant play on the flash player should be easier to implement.
    Appreciate any feedback and tks for the post
    pemicabe

  • Problems with FMS accessing files on another server

    Hi Guys
    Im currently working on a small project with streaming video on demand and using FMS 4.0 (and a complete noob in FMS).
    The video’s is located on another server than the FMS. But I have mapped the server to a drive on my FMS server,
    \\192.168.1.10\data\media\mov\ => R:
    And in the fms.ini file change vod_dir = R:\
    The FMS service is logging on as Administrator, but I still can’t play the videos.
    If I change vod_dir to a local folder ( c:\data\media\mov\ ) on my FMS server it play the movie fine, any idea why this doesn’t work?
    FYI: I'm using rtmp and both servers is running win2008 R2
    Any input is greatly appreciated
    Best reagrds
    Shimshim

    Hi Nikhil
    I ran the test on my two laptops (xp and win 7, instead of the win 2008 servers ), with lesser restrictions.
    When I used the UNC path in the fms.ini it worked fine, but not when I used the mapped drive.
    This proves it s security setting on my servers, that’s coursing the problem.
    Thank you for your help and fast replies J
    Best regards

  • Serious problem using FMS

    Hello all
    I have video chat application .When i do the chat there is a problem of echo/feedback (tat is i can hear my sound after 1 sec)-This is most faced when i use HP systems,Dell systems donot show this issue.
    I doubt is there any configuration made in the audio driver.
    Second issue is when the bandwidth is fluctuating the audio  gets break and and a sudden replay of the previous video happens
    (we are using VP6 for video encoding )
    Please help me with this issue
    Regards
    Aravind

    When experiencing feedback and echos the most common problem is the mic & speakers/headphones you use. Let every chatmember use headphones and see what happens. My guess is this will solve the problem. If one member uses speakers then the sound from everybody else will bounce back into the chat from these speakers. If your unable to use headphones for some reason try dedicated conference A/V equipment.
    Using online chat will in most cases involve some unwritten rules. I belive one of them is trying to let only one person speaks at a time.
    Hope that helps

  • LoadVars Problem

    What am I doing wrong here? Or is this a bug I can work
    around?
    var mainLoadVars:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    mainLoadVars.onLoad = function()
    inString = mainLoadVars.toString();
    trace(inString);
    btnMain.onPress = function()
    mainLoadVars.load(urlcut +
    "/lookup.php?func=lookupemp&empid=" + empid + "&nocache=" +
    rndNoCache()); //rndNoCache() gives a random number to prevent
    caching
    The first time load is called, for each empid, inString comes
    back correctly. The second time, load is called with an already
    used empid, inString contains the latest data.
    For example:
    load('emp1'): returns emp1 data
    load('emp2'): returns emp2 data
    load('emp1'): returns emp2 data
    I've tested the PHP inside a web browser and the data comes
    back correctly every time.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    -Craig

    I've changed my code to the following, and I am having the
    same issue. Tracing the success variable comes back as true every
    call.
    var mainLoadVars:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    var mainLoadVarsResult:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    btnMain.onPress = function()
    mainLoadVars.func="lookupemp";
    mainLoadVars.empid= empid;
    mainLoadVars.nocache = rndNoCache();
    //rndNoCache() gives a random number to prevent caching
    mainLoadVars.sendAndLoad(urlcut +
    "/lookup.php",mainLoadVarsResult, "POST");
    mainLoadVarsResult.onLoad = function(success:Boolean)
    inString = mainLoadVarsResult.toString();
    trace(inString);
    trace(success);

  • Problem with FMS triggering from the FatherCard field

    Hi All,
    I'm attempting to populate a UDF when a user updates the "Consolidating BP" field on the Business Partner form however, this doesn't seem to be working.
    I initially used a simple query for the FMS to prove that the field had recognised it had been populated (using the query "SELECT $[OCRD.FatherCard]") and this seemed to work fine. The issue is the field used to trigger this when amended, as neither "Consolidating BP", "Father Card" or any other field I can find that may look to be related appears to trigger the FMS and populate the UDF.
    I've attempted to link this with any field that looks remotely like it could refer to the "Consolidating BP" field e.g. "Channel BP", "Linked Business Partner" and "Other Receivables/Payables" in addition to many other random fields, but with no luck.
    Does anyone know of issues linking FMS's to this field on the BP screen? Or alternatively why this may be an issue?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Not all fields in the form can trigger FMS update. Only few key columns have such ability. FatherCard is not among them.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • FMS proxying HTTP, problems in POP request.

    Hello,
    I'm using FMS development version ( last version ), I activated FMS as proxy for HTTP server, this is part of fms.ini :
    SERVER.HTTPD_ENABLED = false
    ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = :1935,80
    HTTPPROXY.HOST = localhost:82
    On port 82 I'm running apache, that is installed from default repositories of the amazon EC2 server ( Linux AMI ), here runs a website ( Drupal ).
    There is other website that runs in https, where we record video from webcam to FMS server and play recorded video, with no problems.
    The problem is in http site, the navigation across the whole site works fine but not in some POST request, when I try to login into drupal admin works for all browsers in windows but not for Chrome in Linux. When I try to create a new content by web ( use a form sending info by POST ) doesn't work for any browser, looks like FMS took that request as video-stremming and doesn't pass to apache server. ( Everything on Drupal site works if we don't use FMS as proxy in port 80 )
    What can I do to fix that? is that a bug just for FMS development version?
    Thanks,
    Luis.

    We have similar problem, when FMS(port 80) is taken as proxy of Apache(port 8080).
    When a POST from client to server, in >50%, no response from the server, and I captured the packets using wireshark, found that no 200OK from http server.
    To figure out if it is the problem of Apache or FMS, we access the web form in port 8080 to Apache directly, the 200OK is sent back very immediately in 100%. So we can draw a conclusion that the problem is from FMS.
    So FMS guys,could you figure out how to solve it???
