Locale Settings lost on mobile client 7.8.2.14 after creation of BIP report

Hi All,
we went live with BI Publisher reports (Siebel 7.8.2.14) at the beginning of June.
Now some of our users are having trouble with their mobile web client.
For example our colleagues in Poland have their Windows XP regional settings set to "Polish". It will make Siebel use date format for all date fields (e.g. activity start date) display as YYYY-MM-DD - this works just fine until user is creating a BIP report. After successfull report creation, all locale settings in the mobile client are lost. Instead of YYYY-MM-DD, the dates are displayed in DD.MM.YYYY and creation of new records produces and error. Also, currency and number formats are mixed up.
I assume it's a bug - anyone hit this before?

Yes, we finally decided to do so!
The main reason was that we had a lot of new report change requests and did not want to do the work twice (now in Actuate and then again in BIP). Also we plan our 8.x upgrade for second half of 2011 so this was already some kind of preparation, so we can completely focus on the upgrade afterwards and don't need to hassle around with the reports as well.
issues we're still facing include "user's are not able to run reports after they change their position" or "List reports can only be run for few records, otherwise the search spec hit's an IO field's length limitation" or "report popup can not be suppressed although there's no useful information in it" (not to forget the one described in this thread) and some others.
Well ... after 1 1/2 years since I downloaded the first integration QF the BIP journey still does not end - it's like it just started :)

  • Local admin priveleges required for Mobile Client

Anyone overcome a problem with the mobile client requiring local admin priveleges to run?

    hi peter,
    pls see the below urls.......
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/953928ff-0701-0010-43a0-b18b5e6ffeed
The Passwords Control Panel has a "Remote Administration" tab that
works only if you have networking installed. If you use a central
server, you can assign administrative privilege to a SUPERVISOR or
       Domain Admin.
First, install File & Print Sharing for either MS networks (for a pure
Win95 or NT domain network) or NetWare (For NetWare networks). If you
use FPS for NetWare, keep SAP advertising OFF. In addition, install
the Remote Registry service from Network Control Panel, as a Service
(in ADMINNETTOOLSREMOTREG on the CD-ROM) on the remote machines. You
can do this (and even enforce this) when you install Win95 as well.
Now, if the workstations use User level security (highly
advisable on NT Domains and NetWare networks), Setup will
automatically enable remote administration for ADMIN and SUPERVISOR
(NetWare) or DOMAIN ADMINS (NT Domain). If the stations use passwords
instead of user lists (Share level security), or you don't have a
central server, you will need to manually enable Remote Administration
and supply a password to each station. Remote Administration settings
will differ with each type of network client installed.
Once done, you (the administrator) can control computers via Network
Neighborhood. Right-click on any Win95 station and select
"Properties". You will see a "Tools" tab that lets you edit the
Registry, view network activity, or even browse the hard drives, on
the remote computer. REGEDIT and POLEDIT also works on these stations.
Of the tools listed, Remote Registry service is the biggest service
(250 KB). To free up memory so you don't slow down the machines, check
out How to Prevent Random Hard Drive Access, which also frees
lots of memory for these services.
7.6.3.1. ...on a Windows NT network?
Install FPS for MS networks, install Remote Registry service, and
enable User level security. Remote Admin privileges are
automatically given to anyone in the Domain Admins group on the domain
controller. Re-boot. Then, go to another Win95 station, log in as
Administrator (or anyone else in Domain Admins) and get properties on
the remote station from Network Neighborhood.
WARNING: This service will allow you to remotely edit an NT Server's
Registry! I was able to get in to several (but not all) Registry keys
on my own NT server by logging in as a member of Domain Admins. I'd
hate to think what could happen to my poor server if someone ran
REGEDIT on this network with malicious intent!
WARNING: Remember the NetWare C$ bug? It's back, this time in FPS for
Microsoft networks! Now if you perform a Remote Admin session on a
Win95 station and view its hard drives, the Admin shares
machinec$) remain active, available for read-only viewing when a
       user types
machinec$ from Start Menu/Run. This bug may have always
been around, but I suspect it emerged with Service Pack 1.
    7.6.3.2. ...on a Peer Win95 network?
You don't need to install Remote Registry service on the workstations
to use peer to peer remote administration. You only need a file and
print sharing service. When you use the Admin tools, the target
computer will prompt you for a password.
Be sure to set this password on all the workstations you want to
       administer remotely.
NOTE: According to the Remote Registry readme files, Remote Registry
service only works if you use User Level Security from a central
       server.
    7.6.4. ...user level access?
User Level access spares us the potential of lost passwords and
multiple, security-killing, cached passwords, because the passwords
remain on the central security provider. You need only log in once and
type your password once, and you have access to any resources shared
on the network that have you on their access list.
Enable User Level security from Network Control Panel, in Access
Control. Pick a security provider (the name of an NT domain, NetWare
server, or other central server if your client/service software allows
for it). The next time you re-boot, all your share requesters and
password requesters will have user list requesters in their place. You
could also enforce user level security via system policies.
If the server is a NetWare 4.x server, you will need to set a Bindery
context on it. This will allow all NDS clients access to any Win95
stations sharing resources via FPS for NetWare.
       Unusual combinations to avoid:
FPS for MS networks, using a NetWare server as security provider
(WFWG stations can't get access then! Win95 machines could get
           access, however)
FPS for NetWare, using an NT server as a security provider (Quite
impossible, as the NCP server doesn't recognize NT security)
FPS for NetWare, using Share level security (It won't let you; NCP
           servers don't allow separate logins)

  • Local settings for clients with print drivers installed on server?

    Greetings,
We have a Windows Server 2012 R2 that has a print driver installed and shared (Xerox 560 ~ Fiery driver).
Clients map to this driver. I.E. they add printer from network and select it from the list.
However, because its mapped, they can't edit the driver or save their settings locally (for example: the accounting code is set in the properties of the driver and not in the preferences).
If they do, as admin, then those changes percolate back up to the sever driver and then to all clients.
My question is how do I get the clients to manage their own local settings, these settings being found in the properties of the print driver and not in the preferences?
I need to be able to set things that are set on the properties (and not preferences) of the driver locally on their computer, but I don't want to have to install the driver manually on every client.
Is their a way to have a local version of the properties page?
    Is this possible?
Thank you for letting me know.
    Antoine

may need to set the server as print server...

  • "Process settings prevent this task being completed in the mobile client"?

    Hi,
I've created a process and configured it with a mobile endpoint however when it is opened in a mobile workspace I get the message "Process settings prevent this task being completed in the mobile client... Log in to workspace to complete the task.."
    What am I missing?

I've spend some time to investigate this issue and discovered something strange.
"Process settings prevent this task.." appears when "Must open the form to complete the task" option is checked in Assign Task step.
When process is invoked for the first time and this option is unchecked the process fields appear (I checked it on Ipad and Iphone mobile client).
Once any change is done on this process, the process fields disapear from the mobile client and there is no way to approve/decline task only from the workspace.
    Did anyone encountered this behaviour?

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client - Newbie Totally Lost

We currently have an ASA 5505 Firewall with VPN services configured.  The system is running ASA Version 9.0.0 and ADSDM 7.0.2.  I installed the "Cisco AnyConnect Sercure Mobility Client" Version 3.1.01065 on my Windows 7 Ultimate PC.  When I try to connect to my VPN service I ge the following message:
Security Warning: Untrusted VPN Server Certificate!  AnyConnect cannot verify the VPN server: XXX.XXX.XX.XX
Certifiate does not match the server name
Certificate is from an untrusted source.
Certificate is not identified for this purpose.
Without purchasing a certificate from a 3rd Party vendor, is it possible to register a "Self" generated Certificate to get rid of this message?  If so are there any "Detailed" (e.g., simplified or not in Cisco-eeze language) instructions on how to setup the Firewall to "push" the certificate to the VPN client so the message doesn't come up for the user?

You can simply accept the self-signed certificate the first time you are presented with that message and direct AnyConnect to always trust such certificates.
If you don't want to do that, you need to make your clients automatically trust this certificate from your ASA. You can do that several ways. You mentioned using a 3rd party vendor - that ends up being the method of using a vendor in the trusted root Certificate Authority (CA) list. If you don't use one of the 3rd party ones, you will need to push out the trust via some software deployment method - e.g. a GPO for Windows clients in a managed AD setup or via pre-deploying with yet another 3rd party tool like LANdesk.
If you don't have an internal CA or AD-managed infrastructure for your clients then just telling users to click "always trust" is the path of least resistance (although the least secure).

There seem to be much more problems with 3.1.04049
    Especially with certificate authentication.
    I opened some TAC cases.
Try 3.1.04063 that came out at 07-24-13.
TAC said that there are some fixes in it...

  • How to debug a Mobile client application

    Hi,
How to debug a mobile client application on the laptop, where we dont have any .NET 2003 application installed. (not an MDW)
If we get any error on the application, which could be a UI error on laptop, and if everything is working fine on the MDW, is there any way to debug the application on Mobile client?
Also, please provide me links or tips on how to debug the mobile application, on MDW as well.
    Regards,
    Praveen.

    Hi,
to be able to debug on a local machine you would need at least to install the UI/BOL class files and the project files and make some local settings.
But anyway on all clients there should be the same MSA installation like it is on the MDW so in case of an issue it is normally caused by local (inconsistent) data.
I would suggest to access the laptop IDES database by changing your MDW odbc settings and perform the debug session on the MDW.
Debugging in VB .net is similar to VB6 but you have to notice that changing of the code is NOT possible when being in debug mode.
    Regards,
    Wolfhard

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client using discrete graphics on Mac

    Hello,
I use your Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to connect to my University's VPN. The programme is supplied to me by my University so I presume it licenses it for its students such as myself.
I am writing to let you know the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client uses the discrete graphics card on my MacBook Pro whenever it is running. I cannot quit the Client, that will end my VPN session, but at the same time using the discrete graphics card is a drain on the battery for no good reason; Cisco AnyConnect does not display any visuals that I am aware would require the use of an NVidia Kepler card with 1GB VRAM. The application's code perhaps needs to be rectified so it does not depend on the discrete graphics card when clearly (as the attachments show) it does not need a discrete graphics card to render its very simple interface.
    Cheers.

If your company has the Cisco IPSec protocol open you can use the Mac's built-in VPN settings.
However, if those ports are blocked by your local service (Starbucks or w/e) then you will have to use the AnyConnect VPN, which is done over SSL (https).

  • Network Shares, Mobile Clients, Kerberos and Single Sign On Woes

    Hi anybody,
I'm sure there is a really simple answer to my network share problems but I just can't seem to get them to work. Does anybody understand OD/Kerberos/SSO?
I am running 10.4.10 with DNS, AFP and OD.
My DNS is correctly configured, I can resolve IP into name and back again on server and client machines and it's not using a .local domain.
My OD is set up as a master with the correct LDAP search base settings, Netinfo is off for some reaseon but I can't turn it back on even if I wanted to. I have directory binding enabled as well as requiring clients to bind to directory.
My AFP is set to enable Bonjour registration and Authentication is set to Kerberos.
My client computers are able to access network accounts and my mobile clients are able to sync their home directories.
All seams to be working exceptionally well except for access to the shared network folders.
I am convinced that the network folder is set up correctly as I have RTFM many times and if I play with the acess settings such that anybody has read and write permisions, clients are able to access the data.
However, I wan't to reach my networking Nirvana where I can control access to the network share depending on group id. This shouldn't be difficult but it does seem unatainable for me .....
Having done a bit of trouble shooting and more reading, I can see that the clients are trying to access the share as an unauthenticated user ..... which is where it all goes wrong for me.
I thought that Kerberos SSO would have sorted this out but I don't think the clients are even trying to authenticate with the server as thay use the local Netinfo database to log in.
How do I get clients and mobile clients to do a Kerberised SSO at login?
    Anybody !
    Thanks in advance.

  • EWS not deployed anymore to Lync 2013 Desktop Clients, Mobile Clients still working fine

    Hello dear community,
the subject of EWS in conjunction with Lync 2013 has been discussed a lot here .
However, I could not find here any solution for my problem and I'm (almost) at my end.
Following scenario - 1 x Lync 2013 BE server, 1 x Lync 2013 Edge server, 1 x reverse proxy (IIS ARR). This Lync 2013 deployment
was installed about two months ago and integrated into existing IT landscape. Everything worked wonderfully - desktop and mobile clients were able to connect from inside and outside our organization, EMS was deployed to both desktop and mobile clients.
After that there are no any configuration changes made on Lync server, and yesterday, shortly before an important presentation
I've found, that EWS is not deployed anymore on all desktop clients. Mobile clients, however, continue to function smoothly.
I have tried the following: restart Lync and reverse proxy servers - without success, Lync Connectivity Analyzer shows all
green (internal and external), all relevant tests with Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer were passed, also analysis using Wireshark brought nothing.
I must to say that a week ago I installed SP3 for Exchange 2010 - can it may be because? Also appears more
times a day the following error message in Event Viewer on the back-end server (language of operation system is German):

    Hi MiF,
The issue may cause by the Network Service account that the Lync Storage Service uses does not have access to the private key in used by the oAuth certificate. Please do with the following steps:
Open MMC and add the “Certificates” Snap-in (Local Computer)
Open Personal | Certificates and find the the Certificate being used for OAuth (use the Lync “Get-CsCertificate -Type OAuthTokenIssuer” cmdlet to find the serial number of the OAuth certificate).
Right-click | “All Tasks” | “Manage Private Keys”
Add Permissions for “Network Service” account (the defaults Full control and Read).
Please also check registry key on client computer.
If the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ Office\15.0\Lync \[User SMTP Address]\Autodiscovery registry key does not exist on the user’s workstation, then it likely means that one of the following failures
    have occurred:
Lync was unable to locate a valid DNS A record or SRV record for the Autodiscover site
Certificate assigned to Autodiscover site is not trusted by the Lync workstation

  • Auto Discover Mobile Client Connectivity issue.

I am currently working on getting mobility working for our lync environment.  I have followed online articles for setting up the mobility service and while I have not got a true reverse proxy put in place yet I have a question regarding the autodiscover.
When I go to https://lyncdiscover.ourdomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.aspx/root/sipuri=[email protected]
    I get the following results
{"AccessLocation":"External","Root":{"Links":[{"href":"https:\/\/lyncfe-v01.ourdomain.local\/Autodiscover\/AutodiscoverService.svc\/root\/domain","token":"Domain"},{"href":"https:\/\/lyncfe-v01.ourdomain.local\/Autodiscover\/AutodiscoverService.svc\/root\/user","token":"User"}]}}The problem is that is our local internal URL not the external URL. I believe the setting comes from the Topology Builder under the Standard Front End Server for External web services FQDN as that is what is set there. My question is should that be changed to the FQDN of the edge server or the FQDN of the reverse proxy server? Also should that be the public ourdomain.com or remain the internal ourdomain.local?I hope this makes sense. I am just taking this piece by piece as I was hoping to get my android phone working internally on Wifi at the very least. Also for testing purposes I just pointed our firewall and setup nat from 80 -> 8080 and 443 -> 4443 to test that the external website was working and it is that is how I was able to get the auto discover information. I know this is not secure or ideal I am simply taking this one step at a time to ensure I get this working properly.Thank you for everyone's help.
    KK

    Ok update on my progress.
we updated our UCC certificate that we bought for our edge server.  That certificate had the following in it
    sip.ourdomain.com
    webconf.ourdomain.com
    we added
    dialin.ourdomain.com
    meet.ourdomain.com
    lyncdiscover.ourdomain.com
I left the External Web Services FQDN as lyncdiscover.ourdomain.com
I then put that cert on the Reverse Proxy server.  I then tested using testconnectivity.microsoft.com and the autodiscover test and everything passed.  This is the good news.
    Now the bad.
When I run the connectivity test if I manually select the server and put in sip.ourdomain.com and choose port 5061 the test passes but if I choose port 443 which apparently the mobile clients use as I do not see a spot to change that at it fails stating
    that
The SSL certificate failed one or more certificate validation checks.
The certificate couldn't be validated because SSL negotiation wasn't successful. This could have occurred as a result of a network error or because of a problem with the certificate installation.
    Elapsed Time: 192 ms.
I checked the External Cert on the edge server and sip.ourdomain.com and webconf.ourdomain.com are listed.
The Edge Pool has been configured to have SIP Access, Web Conf service and A/V service all point to sip.ourdomain.com using ports 5061, 444, 443
Can someone point to me what I have setup incorrectly?
This seems like I am very close to actually having this working.  Almost like I can see the light.
    Thank you,
    KK

  • Resetting a mobile client (new device ID)

    Hi,
We often experience that mobile clients have to be re-installed due to synchronization problems. Using the Reset feature on the client does not solve the problem so we have to start from scratch each time.
First the client is un-installed, a new client installed and then we start all over again with the distribution of applications & data. This process is VERY troublesome but SAP does not seem to have an alternative.
Are you familiar with a good solution for resetting the client including the device ID, so the MI Client can be re-used? This way we could avoid the re-installation of the client which is also an issue due to the laptop user authorization concept.
We are using SAP NetWeaver 2004s SP12 and MI Client 7.0 SP12 patch 5
    Looking forward to your advice.
    Kind regards
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
there are two possible ways: first you do a complete installation if MI on the client, add DB2e manually and enter the settings in mobileengine.config manually. This all happens without logon to MI and for sure without sync. If this is the case, you can create a copy of that folder and store it on device for later reference. All you have to do then is to copy this folder from SD card to \ and you have a running version. Register user, sync - and you have deviceID and start from scratch with sync and so on....
If users have different Versions of the App - please use the Profiles - all user that share the same profile will have the same version of the software by default - so this problem should be solved then as well.
The confusion about the Reset button is perhaps that you expect something else then it finally does. All it does is to remove the complete data from the persistence stack. But all general MI settings like Mobile ID, Device ID, SyncKey and so forth still are in the last value. If you have problems with data inside the APP, then this button is ok, but it will not reset the MI installation back to initial!
Perhaps these two blogs will help you:
Reinitialize MI client without reinstallation in seconds! Part 1&2

Hope this helps to solve your issue!

  • Lync Mobile client signs out - Error- IIS reset on Front End - WAS Errors

I have a very limited understanding of Lync dependency's & how to trace the issue I'm now seeing. Would appreciate any direction or information to assist.
We have Primary & Secondary Pools - both pools seem to be effected at different times. The Mobile Clients will error & not sign in until iisreset
is done on the effected Front End.
This issue has started a few weeks ago. Before that this has happened maybe twice in a year.
A few weeks ago we did move the FileStore location of the Primary Front End only (off a Siffs Application store to the local drive of the Primary Front End)– AV scan
exclusion was set for FileStore location.
Also some Windows 2008R2 patches were applied.
The Deployment Wizard has been rerun incase something was broken by MS updates.
The Window Event log is clean apart from:
WAS events: (1 to 4 are grouped)
5013 - A process serving application pool 'LyncUcwa' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was '24076'. The data field
    contains the error number.
5011- The Windows Process Activation Service failed to generate an application pool config file for application pool 'LyncExtFeature'. The error type is '7'.
5189 - A process serving application pool 'LyncIntFeature' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was '17216'. The data
    field contains the error number.
5011 - A process serving application pool 'LyncUcwa' exceeded time limits during shut down. The process id was '12520'.
The Windows Process Activation Service failed to generate an application pool config file for application pool 'LyncIntReach'. The error type is '7'. To resolve this issue, please
ensure that the applicationhost.config file is correct and recommit the last configuration changes made. The data field contains the error number.
Schannel: Same Error event happens twice within a few seconds

The following fatal alert was generated: 10. The internal error state is 1203.

Our Exchange UM started to generate errors recently but not sure if that’s a result of the iisreset for WWW Pub – but these events don’t match any timing of Front End events:

    Hi Davej006,
Web sites and Web applications depend on the availability of Internet Information Services (IIS) application pools. IIS application pools in turn depend on the Windows Process Activation Service (WAS). If WAS is not running or errors occur
during the startup or shutdown of an application pool, Web sites and Web applications may not be available.
And based on my understanding, if some program works sometime and does not in other times, RAM is the problem.
You could refer to the following article to troubleshoot your problem.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc735271(v=ws.10).aspx
    Hope it can be helpful.

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secured Mobility Client not saving the VPN url after disconnecting from session/restarting client

    Hello there.
I am having a problem with Cisco AnyConnect version 3.1.04072. When one of my colleagues disconnects from the VPN session, closes out the program, and then later on, reopens the client, the address that he manually entered did not save and it's defaulting on the two now-defunct VPN servers listed.
Here's an example to see if it makes more sense:
-User opens Cisco AnyConnect. By default, there are two selections available on the pulldown:
    SSLVPN.abcdefg.com
    access.abcdefg.ca
These two VPN servers are now defunct and we use a new VPN server:
    access.abcdefg.com
The user has to manually type it in. He is now able to connect. However, when disconnected. Regardless if the program is closed or not, it does not save the new VPN server address, rather goes back to the default two VPN servers listed.
I've checked XML, HTML, registry keys, sys files, dll files to see if I can change the default servers manually. No sign of it.
I'm hoping that someone out there knows a solution to fix it.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Vergel ,
You can create Anyconnect client profile on ASA. In this profile , you can define the hostname/IP that you wish to connect , along with hostname/IP that should be displayed on the client.
In the client profile , you can define these parameters - "HostName" and "HostAddress" as "access.abcdefg.com" so that any user , who tries to connects , will see "access.abcdefg.com" as the name displayed in the anyconnect connect field.
On the client, the xml profile (C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\Profile) [Win 7] can be seen using those parameters as follows:-
            <HostEntry>
                <HostName>access.abcdefg.com</HostName>
                <HostAddress>access.abcdefg.com</HostAddress>
            </HostEntry>
    Ref:- http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect30/administration/guide/anyconnectadmin30/ac03vpn.html#89103
Additionally, you can try to delete preferences.xml file to remove the redundant hostnames from the anyconnect connect filed.
Path for preferences.xml is C:\Users\Cisco\AppData\Local\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (Win 7),
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get the ADF Mobile Client extension

    Hi all,
Please post some link in which I can download the ADF Mobile Client extension for Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 directly to my local disk. I have tried going through Help --> Check for updates in Jdeveloper but my proxy does not
allow it. so the only possible option for me is to download it to my local disk and should update it. I searched for it but was unable to find the appropriate link so I got to post here. Kindly help me out in finding it please....
    Thanks,

    Hi Timo,
Now I am more confused whether it is available or not. In the oracle site I have seen that I can develop mobile apps using trinidad components in which <trinidad-config> file can be used to define the different platforms on
which the application can be rendered. Is it true ?? When I created a mobile app I got only <trinidad-config> I didnt get <trinidad-skins> in which I can define the style sheet. There is a lot of confusion in how to proceed to
develop the application. Kindly help me on this. I need to develop a mobile app which is not only accessible in Blackberry but should also be able to get rendered on the other platforms also. Which is the best way to develop a
POC on this. Kindly help me timo.
    thanks,
